ALL of the meal was cold. First timethis has happened. I order thismeal every Sunday. WHY was the food cold today ?

We had a lovely walk by the beach then stumbled across this place at the top of the street, really nice frontage and flowers made us go in as avid gardeners. 4 of us had lunch, the fish and chips was really good. Very pleased.

Genuinely the only place I order from now, there is nothing I haven’t had that isn’t exceptional! Cannot praise these guys enough. Large portions, always hot and just down right tasty! Think my favourite is still the sausage and mash! But I love trying new things off your menu too.

Reserved a table online for 7.30pm to be told on arrival that the they stop serving food at 6pm despite the website stating that the kitchen closes at 8pm! Had to then find somewhere else to eat at short notice

Time of delivery kept changing. Only thing that were nice was mushy peas tartare sauce gravy and pie rest was greasy tasteless local chippy chips and fish are better.

if it allowed me 10 stars i wouldve . Roast Beef dinner was incredable ,everything home cooked , nothing frozen . Hot and delicious x

nice bar, well decorated, helpful staff ..chess board at rear of pub. They had a good selection of gins but not enough additions ..

Just had lads day out and this was one of the 1st pubs visited. Good atmosphere, good beer and good service.

Had a complete refurb since we were last here many years ago. Sunday lunch was really nice. Good portion and well cooked. Veg a bit too al dente for my liking but that's a personal choice.

Have to admit this is my favourite pub in Tynemouth, good prices compared to other venues, the staff are fantastic ( and can be quite funny / have a good sense of humour - if you get to know them) not had food there (apart from a portion of chips) but the food always looks and smells good.

Roast beef dinner was great, beef was tasty and just fell apart, proper beef not pre sliced cardboard. Veggies were fresh and cooked to perfection.

First time having food from here and we ordered as a treat for Father's day. Such good quality fresh food and the beef was gorgeous! We will definitely be ordering from here again. Thank you!

Absolutely delicious Sunday lunch. Beef really tender, tasty rich gravy with all the trimmings, creamy mash, 2 large Yorkies and a great selection of veg. Definitely order again thank you

Been ages since ive been in but just feels too modern, everywhere in Tynemouth is trying to be like Allards which isnt a good thing. Looks like an old traditional pub from outside then loses it inside. I didnt really like the decor and the Guinness wasnt the best. Shame but may return and if it feels better ill amend this without hesitation

We went there for a drink and it was really lovely. Apparently it is one of the oldest bars in Tynemouth but newly renovated. It looks really good and the have a great selection of different drinks and beers. The toilets are also new and well kept. I can definitely recommend Cumberlands Arms Tynemouth for a drink.

A great bar this was the first time we have been in since it has been refurbished. It's now more like a trendy wine bar with plenty of seating although the top bar has gone the lower bar has been extended so it doesn't seem to effect the service

Staying in Tynemouth for a few days and called in for a drink, everyone was so friendly we decided to return the following day for lunch with friends. The food was delicious, and again everyone was so lovely and friendly.

Been to Cumberland for Sunday lunch. Very busy but service was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed roast beef dinner. Will definitely visit again.

Had a booking for 7 for a birthday, was pleased to see a gluten free menu as one of the party has intolerances. Very busy pub would definitely be back.

Was fine last time but the food came with side salad which we asked without, the lady said she would make a FRESH one but it was the same one but without salad (still had butter on) and she’d went against her word. If I’d eaten this I would have had allergic reaction and I will be reporting this to the FSA

Called in for lunch. Proper good pub food with a few spicer things for those who want them. Mince and Dumplings for me Sausage and Mash for him. Too full to try the puddings. 2 lunches drinks and a coffee £30 excellent. All food very hot and very tasty. We will be back.

Fantastic decor really helpful staff and the food was good value for money. The price of the food including a Guiness alcohol free amounted to £17.95. The food was delicious copious amounts of veg and the dumpling was soft and tasty. The staff were extremely friendly and polite. I waited 15 minutes which was no problem. The food was piping hot and the Guiness nice and cold. First time here but I would certainly recommend this venue football matches available and there are plenty of TVs to accommodate every seating area. The decor is fresh and quite retro. The toilets were immaculate with no strange smells lol 😆.

Nice little bar, Friendly Staff Ordered Beef Stottie, fresh and the homemade Roasties were delicious Apple Crumble dessert was one of the nicest Ive had.

First time in since the refurbishment, really liked it. Had the ‘trio of meats’ from the Sunday menu, highly recommend. Good atmosphere and overall great service. Will definitely be going back, especially as it’s dog friendly.

New year’s eve at 6 o’clock and expected it to be busy but just usual numbers. Wife grabbed a seat while I went to the bar. 3 guys in front of me getting a big round. When they had been served barmaid disappeared to other end of bar and started serving people who had come in after me, several times! Eventually asked who’s next and then served someone else who came in after me. Shocking service and just served whoever was in front of her. Gave up after about 10 minutes and left to go to the Priory. Completely different, service great despite being busy. Will not be back to Cumberland Arms again.

Says handcut chips and buttered peas. I recieved skinny processed soggy fries and cheap garden peas. Very disappointed.

Great service yesterday. Ordered handout chips when they came a drink was accidentally split which landed on the chips. The drink was spilt by us on the table one of the staff came straight over took the chips and replaced them. Such great customer service

My address can be difficult to find if you don’t know the area.Driver was very polite and apologised immediately. I explained that I understood and thanked him for delivering. Food was very tasty as it always is from Cumberland Arms in Tynemouth.

Friends over from Ireland, weather was terrible so went to Cumberland Arms. Has a great Sunday roast, some had fish and chips. Would highly recommend. Staff very friendly and looked after us. Very busy pub.

First time we had ordered Sunday Lunch at the CA and it was fresh, hot and tasty. We all really enjoyed our food and felt the staff were helpful and very welcoming. We will return!

Very nice, friendly, fairly traditional pub, tasty pub grub. Good range of beers. Dog-friendly. Reasonable prices. Was very quiet on the Friday lunchtime I was there.

We had roast beef, Yorkshire puds plus mince and dumplings. Extremely tasty and fresh vegetables. Would definitely go back, very reasonably price.

Lovely food with good portion sizes. Needs a bigger menu I think. The ham cheese and pickle sandwhich was beautiful with thick cut slices of ham. Goujon sandwhich was also lovely. Massive bits of fish. Well worth the money.

We usually stop off for a quick drink in the Cumberland Arms when we walk into Tynemouth. Staff are always friendly and efficient, drinks are good quality and reasonably priced. Can't vouch for the food; what we have seen certainly looked good, but we have never eaten here. We will be going back.

Called in for coffee bar person wasn't sure how to make a mocha had a go and it was dreadful won't be returning.

One of our usual stops in tynemouth. Really nice after the refurb, drink prices are average and the pub is dog friendly and serves food.

Busy on a sunday drinks are ok price wise but not any entertainment.

Externally the Cumberland looks like an old style pub and indeed it was one for many years. It seems Greene King thought it best to refurbish and the interior is now soulless. The only improvement is that the toilets are immaculate. Good choice of ales and lagers. However the sandwiches were massively overpriced for what was served. I expect the preparation cost was no more than 50p but the retail price was over £6.

Great pub, cosy atmosphere and comfy seats. I found myself here on new year's eye and the service was good even with the place being packed. Great selection of drinks and at decent prices.

We popped in without a reservation for Sunday lunch. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly! The decor is lovely and the place had a warm atmosphere. Sunday lunch was very good - tasty filling and just right. Only suggestion is that we would’ve ordered a side of green veg if it was in the menu. Very nice! We have added the Cumberland arms to our approved list of venues!

The Stuffed Dog has been my go to pub in Tynemouth from 40 plus years. Long may that continue!
