Visited 5th July 2017 food was really well presented and extremely tasty. The menu is extensive and very reasonably priced. My fahitas were delicious and hubby s beef olives went down a treat. Will definatley be back

This venue has only recently re-introduced food service from lunch through to early evening. I was impressed not only by the extensive bar menu but by both the quality and the presentation of the food when I visited on Friday 20th March. I shall certainly return for another enjoyable meal.

Called in for lunch, it took ages even although place was empty it seemed liked they had popped out to Iceland to get some frozen food and stuck it in a microwave, it was awful the garlic bread was even cold hadn't been defrosted properly. Yuck never go back again. Very dark and depressing too

This place has had a string of questionable landlords over the last few years. Seems like an easy tax dodge or front to me. Clientele are the usual coke heads with high hair and tight clothes and no socks and that's the guys. Drinks are rancid and the place lacks a bull dozer through it. Avoid at all costs.

Went here with workmates last night (sat 25th july ) there was 8 of us so spending a lot of money. All night I had been ordering morgans and a can of diet coke. Last drink the barman gave me draught coke , when told it was a can of coke his response was too bad its poured now. Needless to say left after not even finishing drink cos draught coke makes me feel sick. Appalling attitude when you think how much money we spent. Not be back.

Nice spot, great atmosphere, modern furniture, friendly staff but that carbonara dish was such a let down. The pancetta was fatty, not too well cooked and the cream had dried out or there was just not enough. Pub, yes - restaurant, no thank you.

Had dinner in Culdesac on Friday night. My friend and I both had strawberry daiquiri's and i can honestly say was one of the best cocktails I've had in a while. We both had two courses, there was a few specials on, I had one of the specials which was the peppered steak pie (Il get back to that one). To start my friend had the chicken tempura and I had the chilli meatballs both of us really enjoyed our starters and you can tell the food is cooked fresh here, they were delicious. For the mains my friend had chicken fajitas and I had the special which was peppered steak pie, this was amazing I have never tasted anything like this,it was so good, I have never heard of this before but would highly recommend this to anyone. When we got the bill the waitress had given us the 2 course deal which she didn't have to do as the special wasn't part of it. Our bill came to just under £35 and I would've payed more as we really enjoyed our meals, the atmosphere was great and the staff were lovely(so friendly and very welcoming).if your looking for amazing fresh food with a twist and reasonably priced I would definitely recommend this place.

I wouldnt advise anyone to go here the food is rotten , the pints are horrible and management girl (blonde haired girl) has no idea how to work with the public. Also its very narrow and you can barely move and if their is a band playing you literally have to squeeze past them to get to the toilets. All in all...go somewhere else.

After a trip to the dentist, decided lunch in the Cul De Sac was deserved. Very disappointing. We have eaten there on several occasions, but I think yesterday will be the last time as it has been going downhill for some time. This is supported by the fact that it used to be really busy and now there are hardly any customers. My carbonara was okay but very little sauce. My husband's lasagne was tasteless - so much so, that he left over 50%. To be fair, when I complained to the waitress clearing the table, she did knock 50% of the lasagne - but my husband didn't even eat 50% so not really a saving! Also, I had to ask if we could order as our waitress was too busy talking to another member of staff!

Went on a Saturday night! What a mistake! I booked a table before hand which was not ready when we arrived. The starter was bearable however mains were served 2 1/2 mins after the starter was cleared, so could barely eat anything before it went cold. The menu appears value for money but not when u dont eat very much of it! The whole experience was rushed and was even asked ......asked ! if we were finished eating so they could bring us the bill! Do not go! Go to mondo instead we would have had it not been fully booked!

We arrived later on a Friday night and restaurant was busy with Christmas party tables booked. Staff member was good at accommodating us in main bar area and staff were friendly and attentive. We shared the starter of Haggis bons bons, served on a black pudding mash which was a really nice starter. The main meal of chicken and chorizo sandwich served with homemade chips was also highly praised. The lasagne was okay, a bit stodgy and plain for my liking as I would have liked it to be more authentic with lots more garlic and plentiful tomato sauce but that's just my preference. We never had time for dessert as meals had stopped being served which was a shame as was looking forward to their sticky toffee pudding but will definitely be returning to try this next time.

Just back from another fantastic lunch. Food was gorgeous as always. Went with 3 friends who had never been before and all of them, despite living at the other end of Glasgow, plan to return soon. Informed them well of the wait, as everything is cooked from fresh. But it is sooooo worth waiting for. The mixed combo starter went down well. Good offers for 2 (10.95) and 3 (£?) courses. Waitress was so attentive. Other friends inform me it becomes a great place for a night out after meals are done with.Really worth discovering. The chef is so talented.

I used to visit this bar regularly for food and drinks but haven't been for a couple of years. I loved the quality of food and atmosphere and that's what kept me coming back. On a recent trip to Coatbridge I suggested to the family that we go here for lunch. I was pretty disappointed..... the service was friendly and the waitress was nice enough but the food was extremely slow coming from the kitchen for whatever reason. The place was very quiet for a Saturday lunchtime and when our food did arrive it wasn't as good and tasty as I had remembered it. The whole place could do with some upgrading if I'm honest and if this happens and the food improves I will come back.

Have been a few times with family and nights/lunches from work. Visited 2/8/13 and food was excellent as usual. We all had a variety of the burgers. The starters were also excellent. This time was a groupon deal, and was well worth it. Starters included garlic bread, breaded mozarella and prawns with sweet chilli sauce. Again all was superb. What is really important that you know is the food is all cooked from fresh, so it will take a bit of time. Even when a crowd of us from work go (10+), we even phone down the order, but there is still a good wait. However you cannot beat the quality and taste of good fresh food.It is well worth the wait, and a note to self to go more often.

Myself and my friend visited Cul-de-sac recently for a Sunday afternoon lunch. It was our first time visiting and a Groupon Deal! The deal included a two course meal and a drink. Staff were friendly and the service was good, food was served quickly and was delicious, for starter I had the mozzarella fritta followed by the chicken fajitas, was plentiful and very tasty! My only complaint was the noise, there was a football match on and the place was quite busy and quite rowdy, myself and my friend pretty much had to shout to hear each other and by the time I left I had a headache!I would go back as the food and service was good but I'd probably make it midweek when it was less busy and I'd make sure there were no football matches showing first!Would suggest a separate eating area away from the tv screens so customers in for a meal can hear each other!Would also recommend the toilets were cleaned a bit better as not the best!

The food came quickly and the service was good. My only complaint was the noise in the bar. The football was on and the bar was busy. You couldn't hear yourself think for the noise of people shouting. A separate area for people in to eat a meal might have been better. Overall though I would recommend.

Used to eat in CDS quite often when it opened; however since the opening of Avenue in Airdrie, standards have really dropped. There's normally a goo half dozen people wandering in and out of the kitchen and without pre-judging them; some of them look less than hygienic when it comes to the standards you'd expect when preparing food. We've now stopped eating in CDS all together and even when going for a drink the place lacks any atmosphere. It's always cold to the point of not taking off my coat; and the last time we ate in here the burgers were absolutely beyond any shadow of a doubt the frozen kind you could buy in a supermarket. The buns weren't as fresh as they could be and the chips weren't cooked in oil at the right temperature, result being very greasy chips. Maybe because they don't sell a much food as they used to, the ingredients aren't as fresh. If the owner realises this and shortens his menu to a few dishes per day, made fresh; he might do better from people who work and live in the town. Avenue in Airdrie, owned by the same guy is no better. Punching above its weight is the best way of describing it.

I have been going to this place ever since it opened up and is by far one of the trendiest bars in Lanarkshire. It is aimed at the more 'upper class' persons. If your looking for a romantic, candlelit dinner with a waiter/ waitress at your becking call then go to a restaurant. This is a bar which serves food. I am not being biased but you get what you pay for here. I also get the pizza and it's dynamite, they get it right everytime. If your going out for a drink and want a nice atmosphere and good music then come here. But if you want a nice meal with the whole 'restaurant' thing going on, don't waste your money. It's not going to happen. This is prodiminatley a Bar so use it as one. I'm not slating the food here, I've never had a bad experience with CDS but just wanted to clear up any confusion :o)

We ate here on a Saturday tea time using a groupon voucher, we have had drinks in here before so had a fair idea of what to expect from the place, however, the restaurant area was a little room at the back which was cold and not quite basic.I ordered the chicken satay for starters and what arrived was three tiny sticks of cement with quite a nice satay sauce. I can't express how disgusting the chicken was, it wasn't just dried out but was brick hard, it must have been days old. My husband had the meatballs which were nice enough but quite cold. For mains, I had the steak baguette, it was nice enough except the supposed caramelised onions were raw, no big deal but why say it comes with them if it doesn't, it was also luke warm. My husband had the mixed grill which was okay, luke warm again and he said the steak was tasteless, there was no seasoning. There also wasn't any grilled tomatoes or anything it was very pathetic looking.Desert was quite nice, we had sticky toffee pudding and bread and butter pudding, again luke warm but tasty. I should mention that there was only one other table eating at the time we were, so there was no need for the pathetic disgusting food.Don't waste your money, eat anywhere else, it's cold and noisy.
