Clydebuilt Bar & Kitchen in North Lanarkshire

Ordered the roasted vegetable pizza. Got this.

Couldn't fault the food when it arrived but this took 56 minutes. Drinks took 35. The poor waitress was doing her best to keep people happy but it's clearly understaffed.

My friend & I went here for dinner before a gig & although the food was delicious, it was a terriblly tiny portion size & very overpriced!! We received a fish fillet which had very obviously been cut in half giving me one half & my friend the other, tiny wee bit of pea puree & some fries!! Had it not been for the small portions, the food would have been 5/5 as it tasted lovely. All together we had 2 beers, 2 spirits, 2 mains & 2 desserts totalling £74.20. Absolutely ridiculous for what we got, we won't be back!!

Can't fault the service but the burger was shocking. Supposed to be a steak burger, it was clearly MRM, I've had better burgers from a van! At £17 I expected much, much better. They won't be seeing me back there again.

Could have had a bit more salad on the plate & not very much in the way of vegetarian or vegan option. I'm not either of these but it would be nice to have the choice, apart from that was really good. I'll be back

We want pay cash and the staff refuse accept cash so we has been not get any food and my children was refuse to get food because the clydebuilt bar policy not accept cash thats us not accepted. Negativ comment for no any options get food abd oay cash not recomended.

I waited in the queue to be served. As the cashier was serving the person in front of me, I stepped forward to read the menu that was placed on the bar. I then stepped along to order, only to be told I would have to then join the back of the queue again as "I stepped forward and therefore left the queue" The people behind me in the queue were even insisting I did in fact wait, and I witnessed other people doing the exact same thing and served with no problem. The cashier was very rude with me when I was attempting to explain. I did not want to wait in a long queue again so I had to leave.

Enjoyed the food atmosphere good

Extremely slow. After 20 minutes of waiting for my order, a rude staff member responded that normal waiting time is 25 - 30 minutes. Refused to give her name.

Booked a table before a concert seated promptly, food was very nice we had the fish and chips reasonable portion size and tasted really nice. Welcoming staff and nice atmosphere before the concert I will return in future.

I really liked this restaurant except that we were not able to add a tip onto the servers bill and did not have much change to leave. This should be looked at as not many people carry money now and it would be better to be able to add to the bill - only place I know that does not have that capability. It was quite embarrassing for my friend and I not to be able to leave our server a tip

We were at Clydebuilt on Saturday 9th December pre Hoolie at Hydro. Our waitress was Eva, she was so lovely and helpful. Service was very prompt and the food was delicious. I had fish & chips, my friend had a pizza. We were not rushed and took out time over dessert - triple chocolate brownies with vanilla ice cream. Great atmosphere & we would both go back if at a concert in either the Hydro or the Armadillo. No photos as we were hungry, totally recommend Clydebuilt 😊

I ordered food and drinks at the bar unfortunately the only meal I've ever asked for a refund for, the burger should come with a warning as it was horrible even a staff member said it didn't look cooked properly. My friend never received her burger just aswell, she wouldn't have enjoyed it with it tasting like a vegan burger. I think the only reason I received mine eventually was because I highlighted I was diabetic. There was no receipt given therefore they couldn't find my order in the kitchen I was charged £39.40 and no refund has been received as of yet it's been a week and a half. I spoke to Richard who was helpful but still disappointing not to be refunded. There was a few comments about some of the staff being agency staff and being rude I completely agree with this as I experienced this too. I defo won't be back or recommending this place to anyone which is a shame as I go to alot of events in the hydro and this was my first time trying it. I would appreciate feedback on how long ot takes to be refunded.

Visited here for lunch whilst at an event. It took 45 mins from placing our order to getting our food which we thought was a bit long for pizza and some fries. When the food did come it was just ok. The pizzas were nothing special though. Staff friendly enough but service time was shocking.

Always have a good meal here before gigs. Only issue I have, and have now been on several occasions, when we’ve ordered draught soft drinks, they have tasted very chemically. I had irn bru and my friend had lemonade. We took them back to the bar and were given more from another tap, but still tasted the same. We did not drink these either as they were exactly the same, don’t know if these are being rinsed properly after cleaning or whatever but have to order cans of juice instead, £3.70 for a pint of juice but ended up with a £2 can. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of this. I find it hard to believe that we were the only ones to have this issue? Again, never have a complaint about the food and even without a reservation we manage to get seated. :)

Placed on too small a table for 6 when larger one free. Burger would have been better from aldi overpriced didn't get order right to remove allergy items and friends bun was solid. Very poor. Very expensive. Plus put on menu if items are suitable for vegetarians.

Seated and ordered fine. Only got drinks after I spoke to two staff and had waited 30 mins. Food was good, pasta, although the Scottish beef burgers they sell are partly made with vegetables a fact you only find out if you drill down on the online menu. All burger choices are made this way

Visited here before a gig and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The pizzas were decent, or at least more decent than we were expecting. The servers were all really cheery and seemed happy to be at work (not often I can say this!). The prices are very inflated because of the location, but it’s the same with anywhere in a place like this. £7 for a pint of Dark Fruits is a lot, but what else are you going to do? Other downside is that they stopped serving drinks at 8:15, even though we were keen for another one, and it could do with some signage to indicate the entrance and bar/restaurant split if you’re a first time visitor. Also, we tried two tables and they were both wobbly. You could do a lot worse for pre-gig dinner and drinks!

What a great place to eat. I would definitely recommend the munchie box shared between 2 😋

We were 25 mins late due to traffic staff were brilliant held our table. Waiter sorry didn't catch your name was attentive and couldn't do enough for us. But the star of the show was the guy who brought out our meal. He was fantastic funny and so happy we were all smiling. Oh and the fish was delicious. Thank you guys you made 4 Ladies very happy 😊 😀 ❤ xx

Had a great experience here and will definitely visit again for future concerts at the hydro, was so civilised going through early and having delicious food in a nice relaxed environment, have to praise the service, we had an amazing lady that was so attentive, we were embarrassed we couldn't tip her as had no cash and they don't let you add a service charge or tip on to the bill electronically, so will take cash next time too.

Came here to grab a quick bite before a gig at the hydro. I don't understand the bad reviews! Don't be put off. The food is great here. Amazing portions, fast service and friendly staff.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this place was. Usually bars/restaurants near event venues are overpriced and not great quality, but when we were at the SEC Armadillo for an event, we had a look at the menu here and thought it looked really good. The ordering process is fast and simple, and the food came out reasonably quickly. I had fish and chips and it was very tasty, and well cooked & presented. I would definitely eat here again, and have already agreed with my wife that we’ll eat here next time we’re at an event in the area.

Went for a meal before a show. Service was good and the food was nice. A wee bit overpriced for what it is but still nice.

Attended on a busy gig night, food and service excellent. Very pleasant staff.

Me and my partner dined here last Wednesday for a quick bite to eat before Kevin bridges and had a great time. Good food and service, very affordable and there was a live acoustic set during our visit. The team member who greeted us before we got seated was very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be coming back here in future.

Pizza was fantastic. Pakora is tasty. Sticky toffee pudding was tremendous. Waitress and waiters were very efficient. The host/manager was very pleasant and kind. There was a beautiful girl sitting directly across from me at my table also. Good Times.

Initially I had given two Stars but as my complaint was dealt with very well I have now changed it to 4 stars and will certainly be returning.

We ate here before seeing The Pet Shop Boys 29 May. The food was absolutely fine, maybe a wee bit expensive for what it was, but the service was excellent, all the staff were cheerful and helpful, however a special mention to our waiter John, he was lovely, funny and although they were rushed off their feet, always prompt. Would definitely go again if at an event in the Hydro, SEC etc

Very nice, open plan premises. We particularly liked the unusual furnishings. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they were friendly and helpful. An uncomplicated menu made ordering hassle free and our food was excellent.

For venue food it’s not too bad but the burger could of been classed a vegan friendly with all the risk and cereal in it. I swear there is even carrot in it! Chip are ok but if you can’t get oven chips right there something wrong with you. The brioche bun or onion ring was the best part of it!

We went here before a show in the auditorium next door, we pre booked on line but was very quiet as it was midweek. Fish and chips £13 was a joke very very small portion size looked like a slightly bigger fish finger to me, I asked wheres the rest of it and was told it was normal portion size. (Better quality in the hydro food stalls, £8) The chicken burger and chips £16 was a much better size, still relatively expensive for what you got though. We passed on dessert as felt short changed with the food. Asked about cocktails but it's the rubbish eden mill cocktail cans for £7.50 each, so gave it a miss. Most annoying thing was that after we had ate we noticed the vinegar was 6 months out of date, which is unacceptable, and the sauce bottles could do with being cleaned regular, very messy and a magnet for infection. As it was very quiet there is no reason why staff couldn't be on doing this, it made us wonder what it is like behind the scenes, did mention it before we left. Overall, nice setting, but very overpriced and average quality.

Waited a while for our food, "some sort of mix up with receipts or something like that" I the kitchen (man next to us waited 30 minutes for chips). Don't know if heating was working but it was cold.

Visit Clydebuilt often before going to the SSE Hydro or Armadillo and always have the clydebuilt burger, well they’ve changed it to a lump of meat covered with shredded cabbage no Cajun fries now although fries served with the burger were lovely, the burger itself .. let’s be honest it was bowfing.. was like eating a cardboard sandwich and I paid £14 for the privilege .. staff are amazing and that’s the reason for 2stars and not one .. next time I come to a gig I’ll just go to the oui bar in the Radisson

Frozen fish full of water. Burgers was hard and over cooked...then the staff from the businesses filled the dinning area to have there brake ...to be honest worst meal I have even eaten and seen ..you need to pay upfront so they have your money ..when I complain I was just sloppy shouldered” not my problem and no refund offered ...OVOID save your time and effort and got the the rotunda instead Not a happy customer

Good meeting spot for quick bite

Friendly staff. Great bar for pre gig drinks, fab food (Haggistastic) & excellent atmosphere. The menu is enough to keep taking you back here, the onion rings are amazing

purchased kids sausages, mash and veg to the tune of £7.50 for it to be inedible as the gravy was nothing more than salty slop. What I tasted would certainly exceed the daily recommended intake of sodium in an adults diet let alone a child. When mentioned to waiting staff to inform the chef, all we got was a lame apology but could clearly see hardly anything was touched as the gravy saturated literally everything on the plate. We would have been better eating from one of the stalls inside the carnival than here.

I booked for 5pm and had to give the table back at 6.30. We were given the festive menu - 2 courses for £15 not bad considering they are generally overpriced. However, it took a while for the main to come. We asked twice for the dessert menu between 6pm and 6.20 and then gave up and asked for the bill as we had to leave. The food was very nice which is why I have rated 3. The waiters were pleasant but it doesn’t make up for the incredibly slow service. Of course we were charged full price for the 1 course that we had (overpriced for what we got). Luckily we started with a main course or we would have been starving for the rest of the night.

Pre- booked a table which was ready on time. Three course meal was served within the time slot. The food was tasty and we'll priced. Very close to the SSE Hydro

Used this restaurant recently with my daughter. We chose pizza from the menu which im not overly fond of but have to say it was delicious. Had French fries along with it and they too were very tasty.

We have eaten here many times before and enjoyed it- however, we tried to book a table for Friday lunch and were told reservations not accepted. When we tried to get in , there were over 10 tables reserved! Food was just ok. Very disappointed - wont be back

Went here as close to our venue .it was a very busy place. service was great we hot shown to our seats then we ordered up at bar ..service was quick serving us must ave been 5 mins and it looked great ..it tasted very good and filling we had the southern chicken burgers and fries ..it was a very good and enjoyable experience and well worth a visit ..

This is a restaurant bar type place inside the Secc and gets busy when an event is on. Bit of a random queuing system, food was pretty rubbish and poor quality, small portions and very poor value for money.

Had a drink here before a concert and it was busy so they had a queuing system in place which was ok but it did take a while just to get a drink and then it was expensive. We didn't have food but it looked like takeaway food people were getting pizzas in boxes.

When I showed up, I stood at the register to be seated and none of the staff milling about bothered to approach me. As a result, I sat down, and was immediately told by the staff "this is for reservations, you can't sit here." I had a reservation, but nobody bothered to check me in. Staff are clear uninterested and in his case, downright rude. The food is massively overpriced and absolutely awful. I had the most tasteless, pathetic excuse for a Caesar salad and my partner had the world's smallest burger. They also changed the menu and only had one gluten free option, which was a starter soup - forcing me to get the salad and removing the croutons.Whole experience was awful. Do not give them your money.

Came here for Comic Con. Tried the pizza, and it was amazing!

I ate here a number of days in a row when I was at the SEC for a conference. There was plenty of vegetarian choice and the food wasn't cheap but wasn't too expensive, either. More importantly, it was made from very high quality ingredients and every dish was superb. I remember especially enjoying the macaroni cheese made with Applewood smoked cheese, and I liked their vegan burger, too. They also do lovely pizzas. My favourite dessert was the knickerbockerglory, which had brownies and cherries and the thickest, creamiest ice cream I've ever eaten. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The staff were all friendly, especially one guy at the bar whose name I didn't get but he had an amazing multi-coloured double-helix tattoo on his forearm and was extremely helpful and entertaining at the same time. If there is a large event on, book a table ahead or get there as early as possible, as they have lots of seating but it can soon fill up. I can't recommend the desserts enough.

We visited this restaurant mid June. The menu is small and really good for quick bite to eat before a concert or event. The staff were very helpful. The food was good, reasonably priced and a nice location.

Very strange concept here and I suppose it would work if you were actually told wha to do. So...you sit down at a table and wait, and wait, and wait. Eventually a waiter/waitress tells you that you have to go to a stand at the front and get your own menu and then go back to the bar and order it yourself and then they bring it to you. Why not bring menus to people at the tables ? If not at leat have someone at the front to greet customers and tell them how it works. Limited food choices also so all in all needs a lot of work

We stopped off for lunch while visiting an exhibition. The service was confusing as you seemingly had to occupy a table before placing an order which can be worked round if there is more than one person in the party. How you order at the counter and occupy a table if alone is a mystery. The food when it arrived was very average. The battered fish was soggy. I wouldn't be in a rush to go back.

Was coming to see west life with my daughter and granddaughter and stopped in for a bite to eat. Food was delicious but slightly overpriced. All the waiters were polite, Nice waitress helped us out a lot, her name was Martina or Marty- I can’t remember but she was very helpful and seemed enthusiastic. Will definitely stop by again in the future

We popped out of an exhibition at the SECC to have some lunch here last week and had a mixed experience. The restaurant has an industrial feel, and after finding a table, getting our own menus and choosing lunch, I then had to go and queue at the bar to order.

Ate here when we went to see Hugh Jackman. Shared pizza with my daughter. Service was quick and the pizza was tasty. Surrounding was busy as lots of people from the conferences also in but all in all nice place to eat and have a drink.

Visited last night before a concert at the Armadillo and booked by a friend for a table of four. As a vegetarian there are choices, however, they are usual pub grub selections. Vegetarian burger, Vegan burger, pizza and a aubergine parmigiana, also a missed opportunity with mac & cheese, not veggie?

Ordered the £14 sharing anti pasta! Said a selection of meats, cheese and olives, bresdsticks! What you get is 4 tiny breadsticks, 4 blobs of cheese. Packet of rocket, dried tomatoe and soggy peppers! Review the menu! Staff also rude and robotic!

Booked a table this morning. Through with the gurls for panic! at the disco. Place is very nice, staff are excellent, food was quick, tasty and fresh. Pint of mortetti, awesome as usual. Pizza, burger and beers all round. Perfect combination.

Me and my husband were set to go to the Busted concert last night on the 23rd March and we stopped off at your Bar for food before we went in at 18:30. I ordered a single pepperoni pizza and chips at 17:34 at 18:04 I went back to the bar after seeing people that came in after us receiving their food.

The food was just ok- all main dishes on the menu were over £9.50. I had something of the special menu for £8.50- the chickpea and sweet potato curry- which was a small portion. Not very tasty, full of salt. Wouldn’t go back!

service is not particularly speedy, and it's a bit pricey. If you like sitting on bench tables - this is the place for you.

Born in Scotland, raised in Glasgow, made on the Clyde, something I am very proud of, but to say that this 'cafeteria' sums up what is bad about Scotland, is an understatement.The food is ridiculously expense, pre cooked garbage. The staff while ameniable, do not realise the low quality of food that they are serving up to visitors. I would love to know who is running this very poor excuse of an eating establishment, because I would certainly fill them in on how their food is misrepresenting Scotland. They are certainly 'milking' their captive audience. My recommendation for food here, is go up to Argyle Street in Finnieston(a quarter of a mile away) and get some decent food at decent prices.

Order was taken very quickly for a couple of coffees and a little cake but had to stand and wait a good 15 minutes for the coffees to be served on the counter. Staff looked as if they didn't want to be there either. Won't rush back as very expensive too.

This was indeed fast food. The order went in through the door and the food came out literally minutes later. Pretty bland and the pastry topping for the pie was soggy and tasteless. Not what I remember from previous experiences. We won’t be back.

Although a good place to visit before a gig, etc at the campus/hydro, it could be better, with regards its food/drink option. Service was good, but this could be so much better with some better options. Like someone said if it was a wetherspoons pub then that's what you would expect, but with a higher price tag. I reserved a table here as I was attending a concert at the Hydro. Reading some of the past reviews I almost cancelled my booking but decided to give it a shot anyway. I found the staff very helpful and cheerful despite being extremely busy. @ £16 for a 2 course meal I wasn't disappointed or delighted. The food was ok and no worse than your average Wetherspoons. Yes I would go back and it was really handy for the Hydro.

Good feed, plenty of it. Did make a couple of errors with orders and had run out of one fairly standard drink, but staff were very courteous and was ideal for meeting with friends after attending a show in The Armadillo, so would not be put off using again as very good value.

Poor selection of food,rubbish and service not to be recommended. They think because handy for Concerts they don't have to offer better

We called in here just before an event at the SSE Auditorium. It was really busy. The staff seemed to be struggling, the food was mediocre and the service wasn't brilliant. Quite expensive for what is basically burgers or pizzas.

El personal fue maravilloso y amable, desafortunadamente, la comida dejó la visita, el menú no era excelente, así que los dos comimos hamburguesas, fueron decepcionantes y un poco caras por lo que eran. We tried it again when we were here for the country living fair and it was like eating in a completely different restaurant.Firstly they had a full menu with good options.The tables were clean,there was staff to seat you and drink orders taken quickly at your table..Complete reverse of our last visit.I had chickpea and veg chilli,hubby had a burger.Service was fairly quick and food was above average to good.

This is probably the worst experience I have had in a restaurant in years .Staff wandering about avoiding eye contact ,eventually another diner advised us to find a table ourselves.Next challenge -obtaining menus, had to ask twice at the bar before we were given menus .After sitting for several minutes we asked a passing waitress what the ordering procedure was .We ordered 1 kids meal and 6 x 2 courses from the family menu with soft drinks at the bar . After about 25 minutes the food arrived ,and was of reasonably good quality for burgers and chips . Eventually the empty plates were removed and then nothing happened for about half an hour .We managed to find a member of the waiting staff ( who all seemed to have disappeared at this point ) and she said she would check what had happened to our second courses .Again nothing happened and after another 10 minutes 1 of our party went up to the bar to ask what was ,or wasn't going on .He was again told it would be investigated .A waitress then arrived at our table with an order pad and asked us what we had ordered .At this point we gave up and told them to cancel our second courses and would expect a rebate for the 7 deserts we had already paid for and hadn't received .We were given a token gesture of £20 back.

We've eaten here quite a few times in the past before concerts. On one of our last visits it hadn't been too good so we'd been going to other nearby restaurants recently.

I have visitors Clydebuilt several times before but this time was not a good experience. Food was fab as always but the temperature in the restaurant was sub zero and the staff were dreadful. They paid no attention to customers and lack basic serving skills (clearing glasses that still had drinks in them, clearing plates while others at the table are still eating). The manager comped the desserts in complaint, hence 3 stars - might try there again but only if they sort out heating (or maybe just wait til the summer!!)

Glasgow black Christmas weekend , booked for 8 last minute no problems , menu basic and brilliant pub food pre gig. Good service and great food . Easy option no frills does what it says on the tin. If your looking for gastronomic brilliance chase yourselves to the west end and hike to the hydro . Or relax eat here, enjoy good simple food .

We all enjoyed our food but the restaurant was very cold, several other parties also complained about this. We received our drinks and mains promptly, but waited over 20 minutes for someone to come and take our desert order. By then we were even colder and asked for the bill. I then had to ask three other members of staff to allow us to pay for our meal. The food was let down by staff who appear disinterested in helping diners and I witnessed several staff members clearly ignoring diners.

Visited for dinner on November 7,2018.I already submitted a review a couple of days after the visit.However,it did not show up on TripAdvisor.After a concert at SSE Hydro /Armadillo,they always want to know if you visited Clydebuilt.Finally,I did visit the place.

Ate in here last night before the Madness gig. I had been here previously and had a good experience but clearly something has changed for the worse since my last visit. The service was a complete shambles. Throughout the entire time time I was in we had to ask for everything, as there was no pro active service at all. We had drinks, then food coming to our table that we had not ordered and could see our orders being turned away from other tables. Had to chase up one drinks order three times, each time asking a different staff member as the previous one had clearly not written anything down. Staff were standing around chatting in a small group while us and other tables tried to get their attention. At one stage while chasing up yet another order we mentioned to a senior staff member that the service had been really poor, to which she replied 'yes, sorry, I don't know what's going on' and walked away without chasing up the drinks! staff members dropping plates on the floor then two people spent around 10 minutes clearing it up while we sat with no drinks. (Again)! No system at all in place, which comes down to poor management which is a shame. The food was decent pub grub which was not overly expensive. Eventually when the bill came (after chasing up twice) we received a genuine apology, a third off the original bill and a 10% discount for next time (Hence two stars, not one). Not sure if I'll be back to use it though.

Visitamos para una comida pre concierto. No es una gran selección de menú, pero la comida que pedimos era buena. El servicio fue excelente y definitivamente recomendaría reservar una mesa con anticipación como lo hicimos nosotros, ya que estaban completamente llenos y tuvieron que dar la vuelta a mucha gente.

Had table booked and service was good. Disappointed in the very limited menu. Food was OK. It was acceptable as a pre concert filler. Not somewhere I would recommend for a sociable meal.
