Crystal Lake, Chinese Restaurant &Takeaway ,Orpington in Bromley

A traditional and authentic Chinese takeaway, my absolute favourite place to order from. The chow mein is the best, lots of sauce soaked up by the noodles and a good amount of vegetables on top. We also love the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style. We’ve never had any issues with our orders or delivery but use the Just Eats app to place the order.

The soup was completely spilt over the other food

Great meal, had the chicken and pineapple which had a lovely flavour, sweet but not too sweet. Will definitely order from here again.

This is a takeaway only, despite it saying Restaurant on the front of the er... restaurant premises. Food wasn't great: We ordered sesame prawn toast - it has been overcooked as it was greasy and very dark. Salt and pepper squid had the right taste, but the squid was very dry and chewy, batter on it was passable. Chicken balls with sweet and sour - just about edible. Mushroom omelet was horrible and we just threw away - it was watery in its container and really dense - don't bother with any omelet dish. Chips did not test fresh. The things that were edible and ok were special fried rice, singapore noodles and broccoli. Man on counter was friendly. Will not be coming back again.

Food was great but delivery not so as driver was very impatient knocking lots and also tried looking in the window. I’m disabled and can’t rush to the door.

The delivery was quick and food was hot. But have never tasted a sweet and sour chicken so sweet like this one. The chicken pieces also tasted a bit strange, wondering if it is old chicken dipped in sugar syrup. The mixed vegetable was also equally too sweet. Chicken balls were ok.

Food was awful. Waste of money

Over the last 6 months of using Crystal Lake we have found the food to be excellent. We regularly order the same thing which is always delivered hot and on time. Singapore Lamb Chicken Chow Mein Kung Po Prawn Crispy Shredded beef (still crispy)

Spent £51 on Takeaway the food was really vile. I won't be ordering anything from Crystal Lake again. Sun moon Lake much better

Food never came that I ordered at 10:55. I get you close at 11 but don’t take orders until 11 if you can’t fulfill them 😡😡 there were other restaurants I could have went to. Avoid for late night treats

Delivery was a little early but rice was still lukewarm and the lemon chicken sauce is one of the worst I’ve had, just excess sour. Barely edible.

STAY AWAY! I wish you could give zero stars! They have no regard for anyone with allergies. We have a nut and egg allergy in our house and despite being told when ordered about this, they still proceeded to put nuts on 2 dishes and told us that a dish had no egg in it, for us only to find out differently!!

First the positives. The food was delivered quickly. That’s where the good review ends. We ordered chicken in black bean sauce which was spicy but extremely bland. The dim sum texture was hard at one end as if they had been left out and reaheated. Butterfly prawns were dry, hard and inedible. Chips were dry. The crispy duck was ok. No seasoning or flavour but cooked well enough. The plum sauce was watered down and tasted weird. The prawn crackers were average. Maybe we got a bad night. Defo will not be using again.

Absolute garbage crispy chilli beef more like sweaty cardboard glue and the greasiest chow main I’ve ever seen even my dog wouldn’t eat it

Their house special rice and house chow mein absolutely stunk and old man balls

had to phone up twice to try to find out where the order was.Usually rhe shop is good,what went wrong this time,i dont know.The drivers tried to deliver the order three times to the wrong address,yet the correct details are clear on the order.I shall not be using the shop again,got little help from the employee on the phone

Having ordered at 16.39 with a estimate delivery time of 17.00 to 17.15 finally received the food at 18.00 ..It was cold probably travelled around for quite a while as others were being dropped off...you could say put it in microwave..no thx

Take away which included chips. They were stale, not very warm, throw them away as tasted pre cooked and warmed up. Rest of the food was ok. Usually food is good so they need to not let themselves down sending food like this.

The food is lovely but not all the time seems to be always one or two things at different orders, it's getting annoying now.. last time chips were too hard and overcooked, this time the chicken balls were just full of grease, couldn't even eat them, one thing I can say so far delivery is always within the time frame given, ordered from here a few times and never had to complain about the delivery if only the food was perfected everytime.

You need to cut ur meat pieces into eatable size chunks. Cut the onions smaller and really really reconsider mushrooms in a chicken curry!

This was a total waste of money had to put everything in the bin and ordered again from another restaurant as me and the children were unable to eat the food. They should not call their selves Chinese restaurant. Total waste for money never ordering from this restaurant
