I visited Crussh café at Westminster Lodge Leisure Center when the center was only partially open due to covid restrictions. Inside the café was clean with plenty of sofas and coffee tables, as well as normal tables and chairs; outside there is an extensive veranda with views over the park. As the leisure center was only partially open the café was not busy; my cappuccino was expertly made (nice consistently and correct temperature). As Crussh aims to serve healthy food and drink, my favorite snacks were not available (kit-kat or blue ribbon biscuit) and a lot of snacks available were high protein, but there were bags of popcorn!

This place is an absolute state! There is no order in the queueing system, the staff have no sense of urgency or service and the tables and floor are covered in what the last 5 people have eaten on them! Genuinely is the worst part of what is a very good gym! The food here is also good but it’s just not worth it for the horrendous customer service experience!!!! Please please please train your staff and recruit a few more to improve the abysmal experience

Where does one begin? 1. The restaurant was filthy and messy 2. Over staffed and all appeared to be doing nothing but messing around 3. Staff in the kitchen had long hair and no hair nets 4. A 17 mins wait for a smoothie!!! 5. When it finally arrived it contained dairy when I asked for non dairy. When questioned this the guy lied and said the order was correct, upon the first mouthful I confirmed it had yogurt in it. To not take allergy/dietary requirements seriously, especially of a 8.5 months pregnant woman is utterly outrageous This place is a total shambles

Whilst the healthy concept of Crussh is excellent, and so appropriate for a Leisure Centre, I do not understand why they can’t clean the floor. Every table and chair was surrounded by waste food (although the table tops were generally clean and cleared). We found a table that was not too bad, so ordered some drinks. Very little care and attention was paid to making of the drinks. I ordered a Cappuccino and was served a Latte, not the end of world, but the Latte was so hot I literally could not even sip it for 20 minutes – by which time our two hour free parking slot was almost up. I had thought of adding some cold milk, but the coffee already contained too much milk and any more would have made it cooler but undrinkable.

Tables and chairs are often dirty, newspapers are late or not available but the espresso is ok. Give the place a good clean.

Ordered through Deliveroo.Took 2 bites of the chicken salad and threw it away! The chicken was wet and mushy, the salad was rubbery and wilted. The flapjack was like something you would use to plaster holes in a wall! Utterly disgusting!Threw the whole lot in the bin.Dont waste your money on this over priced inedible mush

Ok it's better them the previous café which was just awful, but this has worsened considerably since it opened. The coffee is always poor now - they always use skimmed milk unless you ask, and I have had whole milk heated in the non-dairy jug twice. I hope your dairy allergy isn't bad. The milk is usually not hot enough, and not conditioned correctly. The smoothies are decent though. That raises the rating to a second star.

Being part of the sports complex, it has good parking, great access, good toilets- both able and disabled The downside being there can be large numbers of excited children screaming everywhere-if you are looking for a quiet time, may be better to look elsewhere. Having said that, at 0930am there were not many children around. The room was clean, tidy and the staff were constantly cleaning tables and making the place tidy. The staff were very polite, efficient and handled our various requests for small changes to their menu very well. The food was well prepared, nicely presented, tastes good and was reasonably priced. One small quirk, you can order a single espresso; but they charge for a double, and then happily give you a second single for free - just weird. When we finished our food the plates were removed and there was no pressure to leave. Overall, a very nice experience

I waited a few visits to see if it was a glitch, but sadly whenever I visit this cafe, the tables are always in dire need of clearing. Good menu, slow service (smoothies in particular have taken up to 18 minutes) and seemingly under-staffed and/or badly managed as tables are always grubby.

The new Crussh Fit Food & Juice Bar at Westminster Lodge (opened 6th July) is a slight improvement from the previous café. Furniture has been replaced and a new counter installed. Gone are crisps, chocolate and other “unhealthy” options. Instead there is a selection of freshly pressed / blended juices and smoothies and heathy snacks. We tried a fruit and vegetable juice, a smoothie, organic coffee and a bag of popcorn. We found the juice and the smoothie very good. We did slightly miss the Blue Riband biscuit that we always used to have with our coffee, but the popcorn was a nice alternative. Some soft chairs (with low tables) and a selection of newspapers are still available, along with outside seating overlooking the park. Some of staff are the same as the previous café. The previous café always used to serve cappuccinos / lattes ridiculously hot – this time the temperature was more sensible. The only negative was that whilst tables were being cleared, they were not being cleaned.

The cafe has had a make over and its more than a lick of paint. The coffee is much better and the kids food is really good. It’s fresh, healthy and looks really good. Kids had the fish finger and chicken. Both were very good. Portion of milk was tiny and outside could do with a jet wash but apart from that it is now a good cafe in its own right.

My friend and I treated ourselves to Notcutts Festive Afternoon Tea with Prosecco in lieu of a present, and were absolutely delighted with it. The tea itself was fresh and plentiful, with some novel ideas, like a ‘pig in blanket’ and a strawberry trifle. The staff were attentive and friendly. Special thanks to the manager, Jeff, for creating a good seasonal atmosphere. The price was very reasonable, much lower than other venues, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the tea to others. Hope you continue to provide similar offers at other times of the year. Happy Christmas!🎅

One star because the bagel was good but the service was dreadful. My daughters food was handed to me on a dirty plate. I requested a clean one and the utterly miserable girl on the till tried to persuade me that the mucky marks were from the food itself! Instead of just replacing it. It was a simple request, politely and quietly made. I had to stand my ground as she was making it an issue. She then proceeded to pull a face that made the next customer snigger. Appalling and rude behaviour that was totally uncalled for. This branch of Gail’s obviously thinks it has St Albans in it’s thrall.

I get sandwiches and coffee here every week and I’m frequently amazed at how rude some of the staff are. Even when I am super polite the lack of basic customer service is notable. That said, there is at least one nice staff member and I am always relieved when she is on duty.

A lovely location for a tea room, sadly we were let down by the food. The scones were warmed up to hide the fact they were stale and the jam was a cheap jelly. My son’s eggs were so under cooked the whites were still clear. My husband ordered a meat pie, we had to laugh as it was the smallest portion. Having said all that our waitress was lovely and very friendly. I don’t think we’ll be going back.
