Crusoe's Restaurant in Torbay

Went to Crusoe's for a birthday meal! Excellent food with great service. Really enjoyed the delicious steak! Thank you to Joules and Gary for a memorable night. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing!!! We wanted to experience fresh seafood whilst on holiday. There were four of us, 2 fish lovers, 1 non-fish lover and a vegetarian. The fish lovers were bowled over by the scallops, muscles and hake/cod. It was so fresh so the dish was substituted with whatever fish was caught that day. Our non-fish lover had the steak which was cooked perfectly on the volcanic plate and the veggie loved his halloumi skewer. The food was even served by the chef and was to die for. We loved every bite and the service was amazing. I’m on a low fodmap diet and because everything is cooked fresh, my difficulty with certain ingredients was no problem at all. THANK YOU!!

We weren't staying in Brixham so came upon this restaurant by chance and what a find! It wasn't too busy but I suspect it's because of the location upstairs. Several people did come in whilst we were there but I'm very surprised people aren't clamouring for a table! The food was excellent... the hake wasn't available but i chose fresh haddock instead - it was perfect. My husband wanted a steak but doesn't like doing them on a hot stone so Gary (chef and owner) cooked it for him in the traditional way and he thought it was one of the best steaks he's had in a long time!! Lauren served us and we found her to be a very friendly and helpful girl. All in all, it was a great meal and we highly recommend anyone in the area to give it a try.

We visited the restaurant twice during our stay. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly the chef/owner even came to say hello and asked if we had any questions about the menu. During the 2 visits we had 4 different starters and all were amazing. Being a meat lover I opted for the steak on both occasions and I have to say the quality of the meat is second to none. My wife chose various fish options, all fresh off the local boats. The dessert menu offers something for everyone and all are made on the premises. The chef took the time to come and check everything was OK. They really couldn't do enough for us. All round a great time, great staff and a great view. Highly recommended

Again such a fantastic meal and excellent service. We have visited Brixham several times and this place always never fails to disappoint. Would highly recommend. We will come back!

Food was amazing, seafood hanging skewer. Wow, King prawns, scallops, monkfish, all cooked to perfection, Cheesecake was to die for, sevice and front of house was excellent. Thank Gary, Jules and Alice for a wonderful relaced memorable evening. We loved. Kindest Regards Richard and Jo.

Our second visit to Crusoe's Restaurant. Yet again a lovely meal overlooking the harbour as the restaurant isn't on the ground floor but on the first floor with a lovely view across the harbour. The seafood Chowder three of us had was lovely starter for a wet and windy night. I had Monkfish for the main course which was also lovely and plentiful. Next time we are in Brixham we'll definitely be back!

Something for everyone, all fresh and prepared as you wait. Small place accessed by a flight of stairs and easy to miss but worth a try. You can book which I would advise.

What a fantastic evening we spent at Crusoes, Jules was so friendly, we were seated but then Jules said the customers were just finishing up and she would re lay the table and we could sit by the window, what a view with all the lights twinkling on the water, my partner ordered the fish skewer and I the steak, was a little dubious about cooking a prime fillet myself but WOW the taste was amazing, the home cooked chips and salad as well and as for the mushroom sauce, best I have ever eaten, my partner loved his fish skewer and asked Gary what the fishes were, Gernard and Monk fish as well as Scallops and prawns, the rainbow rice was a winner as well, usually we dont bother with dessert but the Pears kept speaking to me from the dessert board 😋 my partner had the cheesecake which went down a treat, a great meal and we know where to come when back in Brixham. Oh!! and sorry no pics of the food as we dived in and forgot to take any 😂

This is the sort of place you’ll reminisce about in 20 years time. This algorithm requires 100 characters but I recommend you go and try it!

This is an amazing place wonderful food and friendly staff. When we went we were the only ones in but Jules and Gary made us so welcome and the atmosphere is just great. Having worked in the hospitality business I am really picky but I could not find a thing to be picky about not a thing, go and experience you won’t be disappointed.

We were very disappointed, as although the restaurant has a lovely view, the food was very ordinary and overpriced. For starters my husband had scallops with black pudding, which consisted of only 2 very small scallops. I had crab beignets, which were so small they were quite dry and hard, about the size of Maltesers. I had the hake "steak" which was a fillet rather than a steak although it was well cooked and potatoes and sides were good. My husband had "traditional" fish and chips, which was a real let-down, with a very small white fish fillet that had no batter more like just a flour coating, seeved with very soggy chips. For £88 this proved a very costly but disappointing night out.

Great meal, a freshly cooked dinner. Came upon restaurant by chance, would recommend and return. Easy, relaxed feel.

Very clean restaurant visited on our weeks holiday in Brixham. Friendly service and good food - just had to wait a little while which is a shame in an empty restaurant but we still enjoyed a great view!
