Charlotte made my son's 21st vegas inspired birthday cake along with cupcakes. I can not express enough how accommodating and very talented Charlotte is! The cake most definitely had the wow factor with numerous comments from everyone. Charlotte even made gluten free cupcakes for me as she knows I'm coeliac . Aswell as looking amazing the cake tasted divine! Thank you so much Charlotte x

Crumbs was one of the very first things we sorted for our wedding once we got engaged. We have always enjoyed their cupcakes and couldn't think of a better dessert option for a day we wanted to share with those we love. Everybody raved about the cupcakes and were very happy with the choice - they made a lot of people smile that day and we really recommend them for anyone thinking about the same! We ordered about 50% more than our guests (and a cake on top of this) and they were still all gone. Crumbs also did an excellent job of catering to our guests dietary restrictions, including gluten intolerances and nut allergies. We also requested our wedding cake from Crumbs as an extra and we were able to design each part of it - we chose different parts from lots of their cakes featured on their social media. The team were excellent at turning our description into a delicious and gorgeous looking cake. Special shout out to Charlotte who was wonderful the entire time coordinating with us, going above and beyond as standard.

I wanted cake and this was the first one that came up close to us and oh boy was I glad we picked here The cupcakes were moist and tasty and the hot chocolate was delicious So much so I popped back to pick up 4 to take home with us Loved them

Lovely spot for coffee in the April sun, lovely cupcakes. Service was very friendly and polite. Can take away cupcakes which we did. Competitive price for the area including 3 for the price of 4 cupcakes. Would recommend.

I bought three boxes of cupcakes (4 per box) for just over £30 (so very good value for money). I chose mixed flavours and they all went down a treat! Very easy to find the shop (as its right behind the York Minster), very friendly staff and the boxes were super cute (great to take to my family tea party that afternoon). The cup cakes were moist and delicious and I would certainly recommend this place for your cup cake purchases.

A coffee and a cake near the College Green, with York Minster, as the view takes some beating.a few too mamy dogs for my liking, but i suppose lifes a compromise.

If you want a relaxed drink and a cup cake in York this is the place for you. A family business, Charlotte, Jen and the team will make your visit feel special. You can sit inside or out and in the shadow of the Minster and just relax. They take dog friendly to a new level, so your canine companion will insist on a return visit! Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.

The staff in Crumbs were so friendly and helpful, and the iced coffee and cupcakes were amazing - I was told they are made fresh in the shop everyday! There was a gorgeous view of the Minster and my order was brought over before I even sat down. All in all a lovely cafe and I will definitely be returning soon.

Been coming to Crumbs for years and couldn't imagine getting my cupcakes from anywhere else! They have a wide variety of the most delicious cupcakes and you're always welcomed by the friendliest and most hardworking staff. My favourite spot in the city 😊

Travelled here from outside the area to get some cupcakes for a birthday treat.. arrived at 14:30 and despite closing time being 16:00 we were turned away because they decided they wanted to close early. Very disappointed!

I am so glad we chose Crumbs for my son's birthday sweet treat experience for him and his mates. He and 14 friends were able to have 3 delicious mini cupcakes each and a nice drink before going off on the next stage of their party adventure. All of my son's friends said the cupcakes were "epic" and I think to be honest they would have eaten loads more which is always a good sign! Thanks so much for looking after the group (who were mostly boys aged 7 to 8 so that is no mean feat!!!!). Can't wait to visit again for more delicious cupcakes very soon!!

Small but delightful cafe with lots of tables outside when it’s warm enough. Lovely staff and delicious cakes - so much choice including some unusual ones and a choice of several for gluten-free which made a lovely change. Will definitely come back.

El café es simplemente delicioso y mi esposa puede obtener una alternativa sin lácteos. Tuvimos los bizcochos de Battenberg como acompañamiento en esta ocasión y fueron una delicia. Reflexivamente, hay muchos asientos bien espaciados en las áreas pavimentadas y un conjunto compartido de bancos de picnic igualmente bien ubicados en un green al otro lado de la carretera, a los que se les sirvió café y pasteles. There’s no doubt that the Covid 19 impact will be felt by small businesses for a long time. It’s a sad fact that many of them will finish up going out of business. One plus side of the situation is it makes you look again at where you buy things from and if you’re lucky enough to have a good business near you, you might just find something really special, and that’s exactly what this place is. The cake I ordered is the best birthday cake I’ve ever had and the butter cream is something else. How something can be so light and yet taste so good I have no idea. I can not wait to be able to start walking in to town again on a regular basis and undoubtedly this will be a place we will visit as many times as possible.

This little tea shop is a find and a must go to place when visiting York. However during this difficult period, deliveries have been possible and wow we have just received our delivery. Wow .... These ladies are worth supporting. Whilst we cannot at present visit the shop and enjoy all the treats getting their special cup cakes delivered to home makes the lockdown melt away. Such light and fantastic tasting cakes as we have tasted anywhere. Support the small businesses and put this on your must go to place as soon as restrictions are lifted. Really lovely little place, with friendly, welcoming staff and a peaceful atmosphere. I still come in just for a cup of tea, even though I'm vegan now and so can't eat any of the cakes! Would be 5 stars from me if they introduced a vegan cake :)

This is a very cosy cafe in the heart of York, at the rear of York Minster. An old quirky building serving drinks, snacks and a vast array of delicious cupcakes. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The inside is not very big, but on nice days there is seating and tables outside.

Called in and couldn't decide between the caramel or lemon cupcake. They had mini ones so I had one of each they were both so good. The two girls working here are superb. A great way to start our work ‘away day’ with tea and cake. Chose early grey tea and a snickers cup cake. Nice pot of tea and the cake was definitely big enough -but dry so obv not fresh but good company and lovely venue near York minster. A nice treat..!

Having just visited the Treasurers House we needed a pit stop for a drink and a sweet treat. A wonderful location sat outside on a warm September afternoon with a view of the Minster. Excellent service and choice of cupcakes and scones.

This nice little cafe specialises in cupcakes and they are tip top. Loads of choices and our party of four all enjoyed a different flavour. All excellent. Both inside and outside seating the latter with a view towards the Minster. Friendly helpful staff.

The cupcakes are delicious, and beautifully made. There is such a range and they are so tempting that we had to keep going back. The restaurant is situated near the East end of the Minster and offers the opportunity to eat your day’s calories in one go! Compared with the really well known tea rooms the prices are competitive and better made. Well worth a visit if you have a sweet tooth or just want to treat yourself. Warning- You have to go back to try different cakes. The service is good and very friendly. If we went back to York a visit to Crumbs Cupcakery would be on the daily agenda

A lovely little cafe just behind the Minster. A good cup of coffee and delicious cake for the 'sweet hit'!! We sat at a table on the pavement in beautiful sunshine taking in the ambience of the general street scene with a great view of the back of The minster! A great find - somewhere to return to.

We stopped at Crumbs Cupcakery after visiting York Minster. It was a lovely sunny day, so sat outside. My husband & I had a pot of tea for two with scones, jam & clotted cream. Absolutely delicious with plenty of tea. Excellent value for money. The girls in the shop were lovely and if we ever visit York again, will definitely revisit.

Lovely outside seated area, slightly off the beaten track where there are fewer tourists. A premium location at the back of the Minster where there is shade beneath trees if needed. Friendly service and yes you do get a decent sized pot of tea for two but we did think that £7.15 for a pot of tea and ONE cupcake was rather expensive. For this reason I have given 4 stars.

Definitely one of my favourite places in York! I come here every week for a cupcake, they have amazing specials every day, and the staff is beyond friendly. Food is good, the inside is very cute as well! I have been there on my own, with my partner, with colleagues... Love it!

Popped in for tea and cake on way to visit the Minster. The girls were so welcoming and helped us choose our cakes. It was a lovely day so we sat outside and enjoyed our tea and cakes in the sun. Again, the girls were very attentive asking if we would like more hot water. Would visit again.

I chose crumbs to have an afternoon tea as part of my hen party on Saturday and I’m so, so glad I did. From start to finish the ladies did an amazing job. Great quick service, they couldn’t have been more attentive. And the food.... WOW. A lovely selection of sandwiches, crisps, scones, cake and brownies. So much food! Great catering for dietary needs - the best gluten free afternoon tea that I’ve ever had! And to top it all off, then we got to decorate cupcakes which was great fun (4 each to take home with us) Such could value for money, would recommend them to everyone. Thank you again:)

I came with a group for my cousin's hen weekend. We all got four cup cakes each and a good range of things to decorate them with. We also got unlimited tea, all for a very good price. It was a very fun thing to do and although I have no prior experience and am not at all creative, I enjoyed it and was very pleased with my creations! The staff were very friendly and welcoming too.

I have visited this shop a few times already in the passing, this was the first time I had ordered a birthday cake. I gave them a rough idea of what we wanted and the cake came out amazing, made my daughters 1st birthday extra special.

Came across this quaint cupcakery cafe on our visit to York. The cafe was busy and had no available seating inside so we sat outside with a lovely view of the minster. We had coffee and mini cupcakes, which were delicious but not big enough. We will return.

What a super little cafe this is! We sat outside in the sunshine, admiring the Minster and the lovely surrounding area, so it's in a great location. There's every kind of cupcake you can think of (and probably quite a few you'd never think of!), all beautifully displayed in a huge counter, plus other cakes and snacks. You can also take away if you don't want to eat straight away. The staff are super-friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed it. Excellent coffee too. We will definitely go again. Recommended.

Best place to have a coffee and cakes right next to the Minster Church. Owned and run by two sweet sisters who bake everything on the premises and provide delightful service.

* 10/10 * My partner and I are regulars at this cafe, sometimes coming more than once a week, and having lived in York for 22 years we can safely say (having been to many cafes in the past) that Crumbs is the best cafe in all of Yorkshire! The staff are as sweet as the cupcakes, the atmosphere is so relaxing and quaint, and of course the cakes are to die for! Located in the city centre just outside of the Minster, this cafe couldn't be better located. You can even sit outside in the summer and enjoy your cup of coffee with a view! They do student discount, gluten free options, a loyalty card, speciality teas, and all great value for money. Very highly recommend for anyone living in or visiting the beautiful historic city of York.
