Not a regular visitor anymore. First time back since new owners. Was hoping for a Roast Dinner like the old landlord used to do. The texture and taste of everything on our plates made it seem like the whole thing came right out of a frozen bag from Iceland. Such a shame. Won't be going back.

Had the best experience here. The food was amazing, and we went on a night they were holding an event. The staff were super friendly and the landlady Emma went above and beyond. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in the area!!

Clean and tidy room, very clean bathroom and also very quiet. I didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on that. And the pub itself has a great history.

Absolutely fantastic evening. Special event for a 50th wedding anniversary and a couple of special '0' birthdays. 22 people in the group. Good pub grub done well and plenty of it. The staff really could not do enough for us. We all stayed over night, and the breakfast was also very good. Would recommend using this venue.

Just had a combined celebration at The Crown Inn. It was our 50th wedding Anniversary, 70th birthday and 80th Birthday last night. There were 22 of us, and we all stayed overnight and had breakfast in the morning. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble, especially Kirsty. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank-you so much for making our time special. I also want to say the steak and ale pie was just the best The rooms were comfortable, spacious and good value for money.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. The service was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The plates were hot, the chips were perfect and the food retained their heat. Yummy. There are several menu options and a specials board. The atmosphere is relaxing and the facilities are good. There's parking and an outside garden area. We did not see the rooms so are unable to make any comments.

It is a very quiet pub on a Saturday afternoon but still nice enough. Lacking a little in atmosphere but the rain probably didn’t help either. There’s lots of places to sit, a sofa area at the back, outdoor seating, and a dining area. There’s table service from the lovely bar staff.

Excellent, affordable menu and specials board to suit all appetites and served in a pleasant restaurant... The usual range of beers and wine to enjoy in the characterful bar and adjacent saloon with big squishy chairs. Recommended

This has rooms and location and has food and parking away from the madness of town centres on the outskirts of margate and Ramsgate. Worth an overnight or a base . Has a bus stop outside and buses to canterbury or thanet. New manager come and see.

Convenient to Margate and other coastal places. Easy to find at a junction but still quiet. Rooms were clean, attractive and pleasant. The cooked breakfast was fine and the service very friendly.

Imagine travelling by horse carriage back in the day and you needed a place halfway to spend the night. This is that place. We booked a room to visit Canterbury from here. Upon arrival we realised that this place is surrounded by few house and lots of fields. There is nothing else to do around there.l! The rooms are not modern but resemble an old style that helps you very well imagine the scenario I started my review with. The breakfast is simple but decent. You will get your belly full with an English breakfast. The meals are also ok but offer not much special for a vegetarian. The bar serves plenty of different beers and is very cosy. If you feel like travelling a bit (or more) back in time then this is the place. Also to visit Canterbury it's location is ideal: one business will take you there in a out 40 minutes.

The Crown Inn is perhaps more than a little jaded. First impressions were a little underwhelming. The bedroom was a mish mash of furniture. The main light was just a bare bulb; the light fitting was located in the wardrobe. The TV didn't work as you could not get a signal. Bedside cabinet had paint peeling from the drawer front. The dressing table had an embellishment missing; which was found in the drawer. The bathroom is in dire need of refurbishment. The bedding was of a poor quality. The food was not good. The pie was cooked previously and reheated in a microwave. This meant that the pastry was soggy and quite unpleasant. At nearly £9 for a child's meal, we thought it was very expensive for the amount of food on the plate: one very small sausage, a small 'dollop' of what looked like instant mashed potato, and a small portion of baked beans. Unfortunately breakfast was also a disappointment. Strangely the child's portion was ok, but the adult breakfast was poor value for £10, particularly as you were not given a choice of how you liked your eggs, and there was only one very small sausage. At double the price of the child's breakfast, you did not get double the child's portion. On the plus side, the waiting staff were very friendly.

Booked 8 rooms and dinner for a party of 17 (mixed ages). Rooms were great, food great. Management and staff were amazing and could not have done more to make our stay perfect. Well located for visits to the coast whilst offering peaceful retreat. Highly recommend.

The food is really good, with some nice variations to a pub menu. Prices are very good. The staff are real friendly and that makes the atmosphere superb.

Easter Sunday 2 friends of mine came down from London. We went here for lunch. Food was plentiful, great quality and tasted amazing. 😋 we ate Inside. Plenty of outside space to eat in the summer. They also have lots of themed nights, which look great fun. Well worth a visit. We will return.

Liked it, friendly landlady, went in for one drink, ended up having 2 or 3. Cosy atmosphere, can't really comment on food as just grabbed a couple of starters but the other people eating looked happy. Thought this would make a good local. Will go again. Simon and Claire

I ate here yesterday with my father, my daughter, and my dads friend. It was the first time I had eaten here in many many years. While the pub itself is lovely and full of character, the bar staff, who I can only presume that the older woman was the owner, were absolutely awful. The older lady was rude, and had no customer service skills whatsoever. Avoid asking anything of her, as clearly she views it to be below her pay grade, with how put out she was by the most simple requests evident to see due to her body language, her facial expressions and tone of voice. The roast dinner is substandard, and they will scrimp on costs where possible such as expecting a group of four to share two small bowls of veg with three tiny florets of broccoli per bowl, and the lowest quality of chopped veg in an attempt to try and bulk it out. If this wasn’t bad enough, we’ve all had upset stomachs and felt sick since eating here yesterday. If you are looking for somewhere to go for a nice Sunday lunch, then this is not the place.

Not our first rodeo at this fantastic establishment. A great a-la-carte menu with some typical comfort food choices, but also offer daily specials that are creative and very tasty. Today we enjoyed Haddock & Chorizo croquettes, Deep fried Brie with Cranberry sauce, Pork Tenderloin with Bubble ‘n Squeak and Black Pudding, Sea Bass fillet with Prawns & Tempura King Prawn, Ribeye Steak with Peppercorn sauce, Mushrooms and Chunky Chips.

In a tiny kitchen the chef conjured up a bowl of delicious bean and vegetable soup. It was a generous portion served with chunks of toasted sourdough bread and piping hot. Just what we needed after the chill of a November day. The little restaurant is in a quirky indoor market opposite the Turner gallery on the sea front.

Popped in on a quiet weekday afternoon. Really good prices on drinks and food. The pizzas were epic. The lady working there was really friendly and the service was great.
