Lovely restaurant, delicious food, good service, you can take your own drinks, good choices on the menu and big portions. The special rice is lovely.

Ordered a takeaway for the family as it was my birthday. Ordered 8 dishes in total (6 different) along with 3 different naan breads shami kebab chips masala and plain poppadoms. Delivered in full within the hour with a complimentary bottle of coke. Every dish was fantastic, Dhansak, Bhuna, Tikka Curry, Shashlik, Tikka Dhansak and a Mild Dhansak. Without doubt the best curry house in the Purbrook/Waterlooville area.

Usally I can’t complain as their food is top notch but today I ordered a vegetable korma which had two large lumps of chicken in it, being a vegetarian I was not too pleased about having part of a chicken in my mouth . They quickly delivered another one but sorry I’ve lost my trust in you as to my food being meat free .

Nice food, full of flavour and good portion sizes, had to share a rice as overate on the poppodums. Service a bit lacklustre, gent in a baseball cap and what looked like his pyjamas serving, who forgot drinks for a good 25 minutes despite being quiet in the restuarant, other chap serving (more mature gentleman) was polite and dressed as if he was working, which gave a more positive experience. Overall it was OK, but service elements and overall feel could do with being enhanced. Get that right, and it's the perfect combo!

Unfortunately the worst Indian takeaway we've had in a very long time. Friendly enough, quick service and nice and hot.... Goan Lamb was just devoid of flavour though and meat not particularly tender. The Korma sauce was reasonable but chicken was very tough. Keema and pilau rice and Naan was as expected. So many better Indian restaurants locally.

I ordered my meal king prawn butterfly & chicken mushroom korma peshwari naan 5.30 very quite many chefs but the food was not great the coating on the pawn was so thick no flavour couldn’t even taste pawn very poor korma was bit bland peshwari naan was bland & no raisins was going a nice meal but over all bland

30 minutes late and cold. Not great tonight.disappointed

no taste. late coming ,onion bhaji rock hard no taste been re heated not freshly cooked .chicken not moist but dry no taste must of been re heated .been to other curry houses locally this one is so poor wish I never spend money and wasted time ordering hear .waste of money better spent else where the samosa has no taste cold with no crunch Rice has no taste very dry re heated up very poor quality .tikka and korma sauce both have no taste very poor wet taste of water more than sauce flavour I will not be wasting my money hear please do your re re search before going on cheap curry house site and please read revives from customers who have there services .nan bread not no taste very dry and poppadom's were soft no taste like rubber

recommended by someone recently, so we have only used this place once, collected the food as we live local and it was very good. will use again.

Went in for takeaway no one in restaurant at all think it needs a woman's touch very cafe looking uninviting there is no atmosphere Got home food was very hot looked like very large portions and well priced but had about half first then went to have the rest no more meat in the curry all onion and sauce have had better not sure I would return here

Group of 10 here for our regular (ish) curry night. Once again all happy with the service and food served. A tasty evening.

We have been using this small restaurant on a regular basis and have never had a bad meal.

First time using Crookhorn for delivery , was not very hot when delivered-one of the dishes was a little greasy but overall not to bad - better than some of the others in the immediate area.

Delivery was an hour overdue... food was a pool of grease the bags swimming in it. The food was acceptable we ate it all. Sadly we wouldn't make a special effort to order again it wasn't the worst but certainly not the best

Best curry around I think. Can't go wrong with the Pathia, my favourite...

Excellent service and a great choice of food at reasonable prices. You need to bring your own alcohol, and the only soft drinks are Sprite and Coke.

Food tasted Awesome! Price are to high specially for papodom just for 4 papodom it costed £7. Chicken tikka was bit cheeky not cooked well. Not recommended. Tarka dal was OK not as I like it hot and spicy. Naan was also under cooked. Palak paneer once again bit sugary. Although, they are good at bolling rice. Free parking available just putside the door. Serving staff are great, friendly and cheerful.

Just had a chicken madras no problem with the food problem is you get half a tray. They have put there price Up but you get less

13 of us descended on Crookhorn Indian. They served us well with good food at sensible prices. All the group were happy with the eatables.

Hi, I cannot message you via your website or facebook. I would like to lodge a complaint please. I had lived in Bedhampton for 24 years and have used your restaurant many, many times. I've ordered take-aways from you previously but found that after a few months, the food became very, very bland. I therefore gave my business to other companies. I have recently been using you again for take-away meals and the service and food have been excellent. However, this evening, again, as experienced in the past, the food was totally non de script and band. I had a meal delivered last Friday and it was delicious. Tonight, was awful! Have you changed chefs? It seems your regular customers aren't getting consistency. I feel once you know you have a regular customer, you don't appear to want to keep them as your standards and quality fall. As a small business owner myself, I feel it is important to keep your regular customers content and happy with the quality of food and service. That way you build a relationship and repeat custom. I feel, over the years, you treat your repeat customers with distain. I would welcome your feedback please because I am now reluctant to purchase from you in the future.

First time i have used Crookhorn indian for a takeaway in a few years as it had gone down hill, The main problem is a complete lack of flavour due to a lack of spices which is one of the most important points of indian food. I will not be ordering from here again

Was served raw chicken. Drinking glass had a lip mark before i even touched the glass. Very rude when confronting them about it

I had a problem with my 1st delivery, it didn't get delivered! Tried telling me I didn't answer the door. When I called they told me delivery driver had finished work and they would give half price on next order as it costs them for the food! I went in there next day in person and got the same spill. Called for a curry again the other night. The bloke couldn't have been more helpful. Food was good and they honoured and gave me the meal at no extra cost. A week late 😆 but worth the wait nice and spicy 😋

Excellent food and delivered within 20 mins of ordering!

Went here this evening for a takeaway, quite shocked to see we were being served by a member of staff whose mask was below his nose. We are in a pandemic and this is why the infection is spreading. Why don’t these people understand, places like this that totally disregard the rules should be closed down. Shame because the food is good.

We had a really good takeaway last night. Fast delivery and full of flavour. Not greasy at all which is often a big issue. We've been hunting for a good Indian for a while, and having had some bad experiences we've definitely found one we'll be using again!

Been using after a recommendation and cant fault at all. The takeaways we get are always hot, taste great and they even take card payment. Really recommend this place, unlike other places I've used before (which have been many) this place is really bang on the money week after week. Please note I've just changed my review from 5 stars to 1 as the price has just shot up, nearly £20 for a curry for 2. Not acceptable, won't be ordering again.

Great place, friendly staff. Been using their take away service during the pandemic, and have enjoyed eating in pre-pandemic. Food is always lovely. From that I have seen their kitchen always looks spotless and highly professional. I recommend ordering something from there tandoor range with some of their deliciously fluffy naans. And for individuals who don't enjoy the heat, their korma is sweet, creamy and coconutty. Unlike some restaurants in this category their food has never once been oily or salty, much more like home cooking than fast food! All the joy of a takeaway treat but with less of the guilt

Ordered for a delivery at 6.05pm and had email back saying order received and expect delivery by 7.05. By 7.45 still no sign of the food so I called them. After a lot of talking between people in the background I was told the food had been sent, I told them it hadn't been delivered. They said can I walk to collect it instead. So if it had already been sent out for delivery why did they want me to collect it??? Someone was obviously telling massive lies. I walked round and told them I wanted cash refund instead. Will never use them again and will always advise anyone to avoid as they are complete liars. Disgusting way to treat customers and even worse to tell such porkies to try to cover up their inadequacies

The food is always good and plenty of it. Bring your own drink is what I like. It does keep the price down. We have been there many times, with friends or just us.

Discovered this takeaway today, most impressed with the service and quality of the food.

It’s very rare you feel a valued customer. Tonight we received a lovely visit from our local Indian with a bag of goodies. It was completely unexpected and I thought a very lovely gesture. We ordered from here a lot before the lockdown and it was a really nice surprise. Thank you all and look forward to our next curry xx

Clean, good food, not a brilliant atmosphere but good for a group of friends

Bhaji swimming in grease, popadoms not fresh, curry very watered down. A mild chicken curry and biryani too spicy to eat. Wont be back again

We have used this restaurant many times over the past 4 years, it was our go to take away, we took delivery for a meal for 5 last week, we all agreed it was the worst food wed ever had, absolutely revolting, none of us could eat more than a few mouthfuls, the curries (dansak and korma) were swimming in oil, the rices were Luke warm and tasteless, the yoghurt mint sauce was off and the chicken tikka biryani was horrible, we approached the restaurant with our concerns and they were not interested in our complaints. I have noticed a few bad reviews of late, and this one just adds to them, take our advice and do NOT eat here

Large group outing catered for superbly here with starters and mains. Enjoyed being able to take own alcohol . Everyone happy with their meals, only problem was we ordered too much.

Normally food is really nice here and they will get 3/4 star rating but tonight it was really busy and staff rushing about. I ordered something I dont usually as I didn't want anything spicy. However when it came out the kitchen I couldnt eat it, it was that bad. The waiter took it away and I mentioned it wasn't nice and he told me I should have got something spicy then! He didn't want to know why the meal was awful. I didnt want a refund just for them to recognise why they served something inedible.

2nd time (and not the last time) we have ordered from CIR after recommendation from a very good ‘curry expert’ friend.... and delivered top notch both times, 10/10 for freshness, temperature (we are very local), delivery time, service and deliciousness.

Never been here before but heard good things. When we arrived we were impressed seated quickly and served drinks and popadoms . It all went down hill from there on the food took over 30 minutes to arrive , saying that when it arrived i5 was really lovely and I would say excellent. After we finished our meal took another 20 mins to get any service Well worth the trip for the food but the Service was rubbish Food 4 star Service nil

Ordered on line , prompt delivery by a cheery chap , food hot and goods an excellent value take away. Have also dined in the restaurant a a couple of times and it's always been good.

We have been going to this restaurant for a number of years now and have never been disappointed. A takeaway or sit in restaurant in a fairly small shopping precinct in Crookhorn. The food is amazing always piping hot, really tasty and served by friendly staff. An added bonus, you can take your own booze, available from the well stocked Co-Op opposite.

Went to pick up a takeaway and the place is light bright and clean. Staff were really good - but the takeaway was a disappointment. Both chicken meals were scarce of chicken, mainly sauce and sorry but the total thing was so so sweet. Nothing like any other exactly the same meal I have had at other takeaways. Sorry won't be going back

Was meting a Friend near by and while I was waiting I popped in for a menu.the staff were friendly and the place looked clean and tidy.

Lovely food. Madras is madras hot, full of veg. Chilli garlic chicken was amazing. Full of garlic, full of chicken, lovely. Veggie and Vegan options easy to find. Top marks AAA**** Best indian in the area, north of the hill.

This place is a bit hit and miss to be honest. Staff can appear happy and helpful one day and then seem to ignore you and take for ages to serve you the next? The food is of similar hit and miss quality. When it's yummy it's delicious but then on the next visit it can be not so nice? Shame really. The toilets could also do with a bit of a clean up.

Visiting the area overnight. My wife and I fancied an Indian so searched the internet and found this curry house. To be fair, the exterior isn't particularly inviting and as you walk in, the interior decoration is "interesting".

So much low quality Indian food having moved up from Southsea where there was a plethora of amazing Indian food into Waterlooville where everywhere either has too much oil and fat or a lifeless samey curry.

Love the food from here. I've eaten many currys from right across the UK. The garlic chilli chicken and the chicken dhansak from here are up there with the best. Truly amazing flavour from a local Indian.

Reasonable English Indian cuisine , but no more than that.

Used to be a great Indian however now a joke. Take away told 40 minutes, another customer had been waiting 70 minutes. Food took 90 minutes. Avoid at all costs. No level of service from the employees.

Normally have our Indians here but had takeaway this week and it was awful. The pila rice smelt weird and tasted what I can only describe as milky? Everything else was just not nice, 6 months ago this was lovely not sure what's happened since, also within an hour I had an awful upset tummy! Won't be using this indian again.

Always got our curry from here. It was tasty and the delivery was ok. Bought one last week and the prices have increased by about 40% We didn't know until it was delivered, if we had we would have cancelled the order. My partner only had 8 pieces of chicken in his curry, I had 10 which were a lot smaller than his. So they have not only put the prices up they give you a lot less for your money. We got a new menu the next day and they had also charged us more than they should have. We will not be using them any more.

Ok so I have eaten here a lot in recent times. The food is pretty good and the prices have always been very reasonable (around £26 for two people for two courses without drinks). The service has always been hit and miss - the business seems primarily focussed on takeaways. The surroundings have always been basic but clean - decor needs attention. I can put up with the latter if the food is good and the price is good. Dined recently only to find the prices have gone up by around 20% - what are they thinking? They have just removed 50% of the two reasons to dine here! Management please note that if you put your prices up, then your customers will have higher expectations! You are now at similar prices to other establishments in the area that offer a nice dining experience that you do not. Please employ some nice attentive waiting staff, add mood lighting and some nice paint schemes and wall art and your prices will be justified - you just might have more people dine with you as well! Or.....reduce your prices and stay as you are. I will not be dining so often unless one or other happens and I am guessing I will not be the only one. Your call......
