Its very welcoming. Lexi welcomed us and made sure nothing was too much trouble. Chris was doing the food,which was lovely and hot,I hate warm/cold food ,there was plenty of it and it looked appetising. It was good value for money . Evie served us and was very attentive . You were not rushed and left to order when we wanted which is always very nice.I hate being rushed . I would go back again

Decaf coffee (£2.60ish) - it was a 50p freeze dried sachet. Utter rip off. However, a lovely young lady gave us a coffee bean machine latte which, although wasn't great, was better than an instant. I had the all day brekkie, but no eggs (they were thrown out the night before) and the beans looked gross. Tables were sticky and the menus were very dirty and sticky.

Staff are friendly Atmosphere is good But guys seriously, the food is just awful. Seriously consider about getting an easy to manage menu that is much smaller but more manageable, would be far better to have even just 6 things on the menu but that can actually be cooked properly and tastes nice. This is ment as constructive feedback.

Came in last night for some dinner after work. Got served by the amazing Tilly, even due to the limited menu the food was still amazing from the chef Monk. Will definitely be back again to try the rest of the menu

Enjoyed a lovely meal here. After phoning to say that we would be late to our reservation, there were no issues in changing the timings. Although there was a limited menu due to an issue with the gas, our group of 8 all enjoyed our meals and the kids enjoyed receiving a little toy. Tilly, Lexie, Shannon were very helpful and service was great.

Portions on mains a little small, no check by staff and a long wait. Staff were friendly but unfortunately the long wait and portion size let them down

Went to the Crooked Billet today. The staff were lovely as always and we really enjoyed our food. The pub was nice and clean and the garden is huge for the kids to run around. We’ll be back!

Had an amazing afternoon meal with my family on the Sunday just gone , brilliant service by Tilly and Jack they made us feel so welcome and gave us a great experience. I will definitely be coming back

I was told with allergies to scan a code and that they cannot guarantee no cross contamination, i said its a vegan meal so should be ok she said again we cant garentee, on the code went on the gluten free menu nothing on there they had. I then asked for the vegan burger with gluten free bun, wow this was brick solid the beyond burgers were not beyond burgers,, not a nice meal at all. Glass was dirty and the kitchen doors was dirty and black hand marks going into kitchen. Not going back. Hungry horse very disappointed

I came in today. All I can say is wow. Every single staff member is absolutely amazing very polite and great with the kids. Shannon, Tilly and Lexi are so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the crown of burgers

What has happened here.. Phone for a booking and was told there was no availability until 8pm. Arrived to an empty restaurant and was allocated a table. I waited for a menu. Nothing happened after calling the waitress I was told that it was best to download an app, although if I really wanted to I could order at the bar. Luckily the chef knew how to cook a steak, but that was about it. The sauces purchased at additional cost are uneatable. Staff were so far removed from the customers that they may as well be the cleaners. Sorry this place needs closing down and reinventing it is lost. The saving grace is that it wasn't expensive, but few would mind paying a couple of £ more for a better dining experience

Came in earlier today for dinner and didn't even end up ordering food. We finished our drinks and left to go somewhere else. Tried calling the restaurant before hand to see if they had a specific item on the menu, as they haven't had it the past 3 times we've visited, and it is the main thing we visit for. I got sent through to an automated robot which didnt understand my enquiry at all. When the phone finally did ring through to the restaurant itself, after many attempts of me trying, I got no answer. This is really frustrating as we travelled for basically nothing, and it could have all been prevented if the staff just answered their phone. No reason not to as the restaurant wasn't busy at all, apart from one big table and a couple table of two's. Which is also why I was confused when the waitress told me it would be 40 minutes for food, longer if we wanted starters in fact. I've worked in hospitality for years and I know it shouldn't be that long of a wait with the amount of people in the restaurant. Whether there was a big table or not, its ridiculous. The wait has been like that the past couple times we've visited and I've let it slide, as I decided to this time aswell. I proceeded to order my food in which I asked to swap one of the items on my meal for something in reasonable range. I do this everytime I come, as I always get the same thing and it's never been a problem. Until today I guess 🙄. This was my final straw and I told the waitress not to worry about it. I finished my flavoured lemonade advertised as a "mocktail" and went to the Red lion down the road 😂. Place has really gone downhill and probably won't be coming again.

Came in for some lunch today with the family was welcomed by the lovely Tilly and served by Jack, The kids really enjoyed the candymania ice cream they couldn't believe their eyes at how big it was. would definitely recommend and definitely will be attending again

Beware of the old lady at the counter whose one of the most miserable people you will ever meet. She is absolutely arrogant. And as friendly as you can be with her she's arrogant in return. Put me right after place we, ll, never, ever go back again.

My daughter treated me to a Sunday lunch for Father’s Day. Worst Sunday roast I have ever had. Roast beef was as dry as old boots and yorkshirebudding was soft and stodgy. Will never eat in a hungry horse establishment again

The food was terrible, they did not give me my fries with my meal whn I asked at the till I was told they would come to my table but they never did there was a young lady and a young man on food service who had very good customer service skills other than her and him the bar staff (old biddy) where terrible obnoxious, maybe she didn't like the look of me oh well I will never come back. What a waste of money 🤑 and time do not do your self an injustice keep away

Lovely mothers day meal. Got given a rose on arrival and free drink at the bar! All the staff were lovely and accomodating, especially Chris who was a great laugh when serving us desserts and Tilly who was very nice when ordering (and i even forgot to order desserts and she sorted straight away). Will definitely be back!

Ordered a curry, received a kids portion Ordered a steak peas and chips, I could count the amount of peas. And chips. Unsatisfactory to say the least..

Unfortunately, the service was very slow on this visit. Our food (table of 14) came out in dribs and drabs. Half the kids had finished their meals before the other half even got theirs. The staff are very nice and the food is delicious 😋

Me and several other football fans from South Wales stopped for a few refreshments. Great Service, lovely staff members, very accommodating. Pool table, dart board(unfortunately wasn’t able to use as no darts there). Food is good, very reasonably price. Not the best food I have had, but for the money you cannot go wrong! Very cheap and standard pub grub - thank you for having us!

Good prices. Was very quiet at Sunday lunchtime which was surprising at first. The quiet environment suited us. The service was generally to a good standard, friendly and helpful. The food quality was disappointing. Mediocre at best Roast beef was tough. Vegetarian gravy like water. No more available, so had to eat nut roast meal without gravy. Mashed potato was dry, with a skin/crust Cauliflower very over cooked. It's only fair to point out that the nut roast was delicious, so good I would have been more than happy to eat it on Christmas day. Next time we would try somewhere else at a similar price, or pay more elsewhere. For the price you can't expect top quality gourmet food, but you should be able to expect better than this.

We came here for a meal the food was ok would not say brilliant. I will say the service was very good and quick. The building after Christmas needs to be closed for a while for a refit and a good tidy it’s looking very tired the toilets are disgusting not clean at all needing a re dec. will come back but some changes need to be done ASAP

Thank you Nancy and Leah for your splendid service. We were a large group and were there to celebrate Christmas and mostly chose the festive menu which is a great deal for 3 courses. The food portions were generous, tasted great and arrived in plenty of time. The seating area was lovely and the whole restaurant looked very festive for the Christmas season. Thanks once again for making our experience so relaxed and enjoyable.

Went for lunch. Staff were friendly, food came hot and tasted good. Can't overly comment on the atmosphere as it was only lunchtime but seems to have plenty of space for evening meals and events

Went for my mum's birthday I took a cake with us and asked the lady behind the desk if they would bring it out and light it to which she said yes. After the meal we asked another lady if they could bring out the cake she said no you have to do it yourself and light the candles yourself and bring out the cake yourself. I tried to find a lighter but had no luck and she just left the cake out on the side for my mum to see. None of my family smoke so had no luck with a lighter so we had to unfortunately leave the cake and will have to do it another day. If we were told at the start we had to do it ourselves we could have worked something out quickly but we were told yes so it is very disappointing. The food was okay as much as you expect from a hungry horse and our main server was lovely but just a shame we got told one thing and then got denied it when we needed it

We were served by the Manager. Very chatty,very polite and friendly. Food was lovely I had Chicken New Yorker. Hubby had Mixed Grill. Pudding was amazing, Candymania. Will definitely be coming back.

Food was like it came from a school canteen, no flavour, no presentation, plus we had to even clean our table ourselves as it was filthy. Never coming here again. Food is too overpriced for what you get. The menu sounds and looks better than what they physically hand you. Absolutely disappointed.

It was terrible over a med rare steak it came out well done then the refire came out rare, chicken breast was deep fried, restaurant just looked dirty and when I complained staff just said what am I meant to do about that like really I’m sure if your food is that bad you must get a lot of compliments so you should no how to actually help by now. If I could give 0 stars I would I don’t recommend at all definitely won’t be returning

Absolutely lovely food, great offers and value for money. Lovely friendly helpful staff. The restaurant/ pub and loos all very clean. Sometimes I eat there twice a day! It’s that good value for the food. And portions sizes are brilliant. Only one thing I would say is I’d rather not have the background music playing as it’s never to my taste and is actually annoying.

Visited an old family favorite for a quick stop, but unfortunately, this will be our last time. Our experience was truly awful. While we understand the place is known for being affordable and pleasant, there was no sense of cheer during this visit. I ordered the mixed grill, but it was so appalling that I couldn't even eat it. The staff remained friendly, which was the only positive aspect. The garden had potential with its nice ambiance, but it felt like taking a tour around a cigarette butt factory due to the excessive number of discarded butts lying around. Our advice: steer clear of this place. Avoid at all costs

Lovely staff and a lovely meal. The restaurant could do with a bit of tlc though.

Disappointing. I had 2 very tough chicken breasts, but luckily they were only about the size of chicken nuggets ( two 4cm squares ) so I got off lightly. And the bar lady was obviously also having a bad day.....very sullen. Nice weather though!
