A group of 7 of us went on verry short notice for afternoon tea. The staff were friendly and the food was lovely....plenty of sandwiches and cake and of course tea..., also there were bowls of crisps and salad which I have never had before with an afternoon tea......The cafe itself is very clean and has a quirky feel about it.........I fully recommend

I am a fairly request visitor to the cafe living not far away. This cafe is a lovely asset to our community and the food is always tasty and usually indulgent! I love meeting friends here as they are very child friendly and it means I can usually actually have a conversation rather than chase around my daughter Staff are friendly and work hard. Definitely worth a visit, I recommend the bueno waffle!

Lovely little cafe in Portslade Village. Have been meaning to try it out for some time since they took over there old post office. Wife and I had missed breakfast so wanted a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea - they were happy to oblige and tea served beautifully with China tea pot and cups. Café is beautifully decorated with a child's play room with a TV screen in the cafe so Mums can keep an eye on them. They also have children's clothing for sale so really a community café.

We visited for afternoon tea as a birthday treat. There is a play room just off the main seating area for children to play in with a live TV to watch them and check that they were OK. This made the experience more relaxed so we could enjoy our tea. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was delicious and well presented making us feel welcome. They even provided boxes for the cakes we couldn't eat. Extremely well priced for the amount we received.

When we arrived, no one greeted us. It was very odd indeed! My sister saw what we assumed was our afternoon tea, set up on table near the door, so we sat down. It took a while for someone to come over and acknowledge us and bring the pots of tea. The sandwiches, scones and cake were actually lovely and the whole idea of the place is really good, I just felt as though a small business like this would benefit from a warmer welcome toward its customers, in order for them to recommend to others and to want to return again and again.

We went to Cronin’s cabin today for a spot of lunch. The food was lovely and the cakes are amazing. My kids absolutely loved the Mermaid milkshakes and small playroom out to the back. The only thing that stops me popping in here again is the fact that this lovely little place gets rammed and quite often there’s no seating available. I have heard in the summer they have a little patio area, but if you are keen to try this place I suggest you ring in advance or Facebook message and book a very reasonably priced cream tea/lunch to avoid disappointment.

Lovely tea rooms with a great range of cakes (and gluten free), wide range of cooked snacks, flavoured teas, hot choc and coffees. The waffles look particularly inviting, I had coffee and cake now went to go back for lunch and smores waffles! Staff very helpful.

Stumbled across this whilst visiting potential primary schools in the Portslade area. One of the nicest half an hour I've ever spent in a cafe! Nice range of snacks and drinks - huge milkshake selection. Very child friendly with a safe toddler play area and a menu to match. Staff and punters were very welcoming. This will become a regular haunt when we move to Portslade. Highly recommended.

Nice friendly little tea shop. Selection of cakes, tea, coffee and are becoming well know and popular for their milkshakes. New addition of a little garden. I wish them success!

I am so fed up with the chains and 'high-end' places for coffee and some food - particularly when their meagre vegan offerings are expensive and disappointing. So I was delighted to find The Tea Leaf today! I was freezing cold and starving and looked at the menu in the window - plenty of vegan options.. Yay! Nice and quirky inside - cushions, cosy and welcoming.. Couldn't decide between the stuffed peppers, minestrone soup, baked potato or a toasted sandwich. Eventually went for the latter-- lovely garlicky hummus, avocado at its best and veg... all served in toasted sourdough. And a lovely cup of tea with oat milk. Nosey me found that this place has only been taken over 2 months ago and, honestly, their vegan options were the best along the road (I looked at every cafe). If you want a warm welcome, quirky and a change from the same-old, same-old - theTea Leaf is for you.

Un gran personal de cafetería y súper amable y la comida era fantástica mejor pescado y patatas fritas que tuve en mucho tiempo. El propietario se toma un tiempo para charlar y asegurarse de que su experiencia sea buena.

An Italian restaurant that doesn't use fresh dough for their pizzas? No thanks.

Cracking fish and chip shop, solid food and lovely staff. Been here a few times and I'll be going out of my way to do so again. Fat, juicy chips, big range of fish options, old school gherkins and all the trimmings.
