A chic and classy dinner experience with innovative recipes. Lovely little restaurant tucked away in a quiet corner of Spitalfields. We were lucky enough to nab a 50% off deal as part of a promotional campaign, which gave us the chance to sample a variety of dishes. Although the portions were on the smaller side, we ordered two starters, four hors d'oeuvres, and one main between the two of us, which left us feeling pleasantly satisfied. Our choices included: - Dusty Knuckle bread with brown butter - Pickled winter vegetables - Fried pink firs with confit garlic mayo and seaweed - Grilled calcots with yoghurt, chilli, and za'atar - Carrot hummus with pickled walnut, tardivo, and sage - Wild sea bass crudo with blood orange, chilli, and dill - Cauliflower with roscoff onion puree, fried capers, and parsley Their house white wine was a treat - fruity, sweet, and full of flavour, complementing the menu perfectly. I'd highly recommend the cauliflower main; it was one of the best vegetable dishes I've had out in ages. To round things off, the blood orange panna cotta with shortbread was spot on. All in all, a really lovely experience.

We just came for drinks because of the unique architecture and the atmosphere is perfect for a night out. The cocktail was good. Just note that they do not carry beers on tap.

stay clear! Very unwelcoming staff especially the balding chef with brown teeth. If you’re gonna have a full view kitchenette probably best to encourage your chef to not look like Fagin out of Oliver Twist and pay particular attention to self hygiene and presentation. The space is a shoebox which you couldn’t swing a cat, with a lack of extractor fan meaning your clothes smell extremely awful once you leave.

Loved this place! We arrived an hour early for our reservation and the team tried really hard to accommodate us and found us a space. The space is so cool and quirky and the food was absolutely amazing. Loved the team, thought the food was brilliant - all round would recommend 100 percent!

Pedimos té. Cuando llegó el té, estaba encantador y caliente, pero debido a que las tazas no tenían asas, estaban demasiado calientes para recoger y beber. Preguntamos si había algún pastel o postre que podríamos tener. Nos dijeron 'No, la cocina está cerrada'. Sin embargo, Crispin se hace llamar un restaurante abierto todo el día. Preguntamos si había algo listo para servir, que no necesitaba ninguna preparación y de nuevo se les dijo 'No. ' Una pareja que llegó unos minutos después de nosotros se les dio un menú, hicieron su pedido y se les sirvió con café y también algunos postres. Fueron atendidos por un miembro del personal diferente a nosotros. Claramente nuestro camarero no podía ser molestado. Cuando pagamos, le señalamos todo esto a la camarera. Dijo que cometió un error al servir el postre a la gente a nuestro lado. Extraño y decepcionante.

Lovely Saturday lunch here. We had put in the reservation notes that we had a baby and pram with us and the team had planned where to put us, which sounds simple but often doesn’t happen! The food was lovely, service was attentive without being over the top and we’ll definitely be back.

I rated this place five stars on a previous visit, but at this occasion the food wasn’t as good as it had been previously. One of the dishes we had that had white beans the beans were completely uncooked and hard and a lot of the things we had were underwhelming.

What a wonderful experience here at Crispin Spitalfields. The food is out of this world and the service exemplary. The small dishes are each so special, but the high spot for us was the bacon chop - quite the nicest I've ever had. I would recommend ordering six dishes between two people. Wines are exquisite too and we were looked after beautifully by the dedicated and caring staff. Highly recommended.

We had an absolutely brilliant long family reunion lunch for four at Crispin. The food selection was varied, tasty and quite filling. The staff team, in particular our server, looked after us and made us very welcome. This place is a bit of a hidden gem. We will visit again. Thank you.

What a lovely small plates restaurant. A small, yet wide-ranging menu focusing on seasonal foods. Had the aubergine hummus and octopus with tomato sauce. I loved both dishes for their clarity of flavours that blended so beautifully, and felt perfectly balanced. Definitely recommend both these dishes. As a solo diner I really enjoyed my time here as servers were very welcoming and friendly and atmosphere was peaceful; equally this restaurant would be great to enjoy with a group to get to try all the tapas-style dishes. I’ll be back!

Went for a birthday dinner. Friendly service, allowed us to get our table early. Easily the best small plates place we’ve been in months. Recommend the bread, fried olives and sea bass special (if they still have it)

Crispin is one of my favorite places to eat. The menu always features seasonal produce in interesting ways. Not all are perfect dishes you’ll always get one or two that are meh but overall a solid dining experience.

Three of us came for lunch and we had a nice time. The white wine was really nice and the server gave a good recommendation, matching well with the food. We ordered several dishes and for the most part it was good, although we weren't blown away by the flavour in any of them, perhaps the arancini was the best. Unfortunately though we did leave a little unsatisfied given the price paid, but we cant fault the experience.

Lovely meal, definitely a very strong alternative choice to mainstream city of London restaurants. The combination of flavours is magnificent and the outside terrace is lerfect for a summer evening.

Brown butter with bread is amazing. We tried different peppers too, again very good. Main course was above average in our view but you might like it. I would recommend this place.

Teníamos grandes expectativas y estábamos bastante decepcionados. El personal y el lugar eran encantadores, sin embargo la comida era enormemente decepcionante. Platos pequeños de espárragos con un pequeño trozo de espárragos, confites de tomates estaban bien, no mejor. Las croquetas estaban bien. La chuleta de cerdo era fabulosa, el salmonete rojo estaba bien, la bavette decepcionante. Todo bien Luke caliente en el mejor de los casos. El pastel de mantequilla marrón era absolutamente delicioso.

A primera vista no es fácil discernir que este lugar es en realidad un restaurante (bueno, lo llaman cafetería, pero ya te haces a la idea). La estructura independiente y de forma bastante extraña parece casi una cafetería temporal, que es lo que inicialmente pensé que era. Pero merecía una mirada más cercana, así que puedes imaginar mi deleite al descubrir que realmente sirven comida cocinada. Encantador. Era temprano en la noche, antes de las horas pico de comedor, así que me senté rápidamente sin reserva. Fue agradable descubrir que en realidad hay una pequeña terraza en la parte trasera, por lo que más espacio de lo que implicaría la estructura en sí, y lo mejor de todo es agradable ver que es accesible en silla de ruedas - no es un problema para mí, pero siempre un positivo. Mi servidor (¿Pedro? ) era muy bueno ayudándome a navegar por el menú, que es más una serie de platos pequeños de diversos tamaños, en lugar de comidas completas. Eso es perfecto para mí, ya que me gusta probar tantas cosas diferentes como sea posible. También fue muy específico al enfatizar los ingredientes de origen local. Todo sonaba genial. Empecé con estas croquetas bastante innovadoras, que estaban disponibles en una selección de eglefino ahumado o abadejo. Fui por el abadejo, aunque en retrospectiva uno de cada uno podría haber sido mejor. Fueron excelentes. Una verdadera revelación, claramente hecha a mano y bellamente presentada con un relleno cremoso. Eran muy morenos (ver foto). También probé la sepia y el cangrejo Portland (sí, hay un tema de mariscos que está emergiendo). Me sorprendió un poco que el cangrejo se sirviera frío, lo que quizás no debería haber sido del todo inesperado. Todavía muy bueno (ver imagen). Sin embargo, la sepia no tanto. Se servía en una salsa cremosa encantadora, que se limpiaba fácilmente con el pan de nudillos polvorientos, sin embargo, la sepia en sí no estaba muy bien cocinada y en realidad estaba parcialmente cruda (ver imagen). Lo que conseguí terminar fue bueno, pero el resto probablemente podría haberse beneficiado de uno o dos minutos más. Mencioné esto de pasada y me sorprendió gratamente que Peter lo eliminara de la factura sin reparos, y amablemente me invitó a pedir algo más. Esta fue una oportunidad para explorar más a fondo, así que probé la lasaña de ortiga con panceta. Esto era muy graso, pero delicioso (ver imagen). También probé tanto su cerveza lager como su IPA de la cervecería Mondo en Battersea (bueno, nueve olmos en realidad, pero no voy a dividir el pelo). Estos también eran excelentes (ver fotos). La factura de uno llegó a £ 78 con bebidas (incluso después de comprar uno de los platos) Me quedé asombrado al descubrir que incluía un cargo de servicio del 15% friolera! Es lo más alto que he encontrado hasta ahora. Este lugar no es barato, aunque reconozco que la calidad de la comida es excelente, y la ubicación en sí también puede ser un factor (los restaurantes tienden a equiparar sus precios con otros en el área local). En conjunto, una gran experiencia. Buena comida, buen servicio en un entorno muy agradable. Vale la pena comprobarlo.

Pleasantly surprised with the food - it actually hit all the notes and some of the dishes were absolute standouts I.e. the peppers and the lasagnette and the bread ohh but that’s from Dusty Knuckle so kinda expected.

The staff were lovely and very welcoming. It’s a bit of an unusual set up (long and narrow) but interesting building and good location! The concept is sharing plates and although the majority of dishes were tasty I wasn’t blown away by anything in particular. I was really excited for the aubergine dish and it unfortunately didn’t have much flavour or seasoning. Price point is fine but a bit on the expensive side considering the size of the portions (we had to order quite a bit more as the group were still hungry). I’ve heard great things about Crispin so was a bit disappointed overall.

Lovely place, food was excellent and the service was great. Good atmosphere but not too noisy, a bit on the pricey side but they have decent house wine so depends on how much you want to order. Service is 15% so good to know ahead, but the staff is really cool.

Wow wow wow. What a first class visit. The staff were AMAZING they looked after us so well - probably one of the best! Food was out of this world. You MUST try this place.

The place is noce, and the staff is definitely the best part of the experience. The food however was not at the level we expected, and not worth the price. Everything was quite plainly cooked, nothing was special or even very tasty. The wine was nice.

I love coming here when I can - great for small to medium sized groups or on your own. They have an amazing wine selection and everything on the menu is delicious and fresh, you can’t go wrong. I would recommend ordering the fried olives to start as those can’t be missed.

Lovely seasonal small plates. Quite expensive to have dinner here, but a wonderful atmosphere and really kind attentive staff who gave great recommendations. Plenty of vegetarian options too.

We have had the best service visiting London and we were looking forward to trying this place. First off the food was absolutely delicious. I mostly write positive reviews of places because I always want to support small businesses and want to celebrate wonderful experiences…but the service here was abysmal. The waitress was rude and dismissive and we had to move tables and then she took a chair from our table and was short with us taking our time to order. I went to the manager to say it wasn’t a great start to the evening, and then the waitress came back and berated me for talking to the manager and how dare I say anything and this was in front of my party. It’s was completely embarrassing and uncomfortable. I’m shocked at the treatment and highly recommend you go somewhere else. I was mortified at the service and never experienced anything like that anywhere.

The name. I presume from ‘Crispin Street’. The atmosphere and style. Crisp, elegant, and classy. A perfect occasion for a group aperitif or date. Great selection of small plates and wines. All in all a wonderful experience. Crisp and classy.

food is really nice, very interesting flavours and it’s quite “light”. Not really a restaurant though more like a wine bar, portion sizes are tiny. Although nice, it is very expensive for what it is and I wouldn’t go back for that reason

Found this place one day looking for a cafè, looked cool so came back for dinner. It was AMAZING! The courgette with the chickpeas was easily one of the most delicious veg dish I’ve ever tasted. The service was so enjoyable as well, the guys were all lovely and a lot of fun. Definitely one of my favourite places right now.

Had a fantastic meal here with very friendly and attentive service and a buzzing but still intimate atmosphere. We esp liked the crab, brown butter, breaded chicken, and cocktails!

Perfect sharing plates, adorable staff, delicious food. What I was so impressed about was the honesty of the staff. I left a designer scarf behind and within 5 mins of leaving they phoned me to tell me which enables us to walk back. Few restaurants in London are like this…I highly support it and recommend to others. Thank you for being so fabulous ❤️❤️❤️.

Two weeks ago I and a friend decided to book a table (in advance) in Crispin for dinner. I would like to comment mainly on the service, as it was very disappointing and put us off from revisiting the restaurant (i.e., Pavilion on The Corner). In brief, the waitress continuously kept reminding us of the remaining time we had the table reserved for. Of course, we were beforehand aware that the table is booked for 1h30min (for up to two people), but by no means is customer-service friendly or acceptable to stress out your guests this way! By the end of our booked time, she pretty much 'kicked us off' and said that next guests have arrived without even recommending us to finish off our wine in the bar, if possible. Instead, it was ourselves that tried to accommodate us (:basically doing her job) and asked to kindly move in the bar or outside area (the latter, least-worst option due to the bad weather) for drinks only.. Lastly, she even commented on our food order (i.e., a few dishes to share between us), saying that what we ordered were small portions/amounts for two people. Excuse me, but I do not remember to have agreed to any terms and conditions of the restaurant to order food/drink based on the waiting staff's preferences. Neither we were ever asked to consent on a minimum spend on card payment (if that is even legal). ps: i. FYI, our bill was approx. £40 per person; ii. The food was fine but a bit cold and iii. The atmosphere was very nice. Best, Unhappy customer

Tasty with interesting flavour combinations but not value for money. Portion sizes don’t match the prices at all and the wine is also very expensive. £26 for a thin and small piece of sole and a tiny square of hake. Feels really ungenerous. Good for a one off meal but wouldn’t return

We had a great time. The food is good, real culinary discoveries, I recommend trying certain wines, letting yourself be carried away by the service. Count on £80 per person for a full experience.

Lovely service and gorgeous restaurant. Cannot say the same about the food though. The appetizers (croquette + Cornish potatoes) were good but the mains (cavatelli + cabbage) lacked seasoning and flavour. The cavatelli was also drenched in an unnecessary coat of oil. We paid and left with almost a full plate of unfinished pasta. It's a shame as I've heard good things about Crispin and so we were excited for our first visit.

Great food with friendly staff, a bit loud inside as its a relatively narrow space (it was during the run up to Christmas though). Still, the food was really good.

Food is just wow, at first the menu was a bit overwhelming because I was not familiar with some of the dishes, but wow everything was incredible. The waiting staff was also super friendly. Highly recommend to anyone that enjoys trying multiple things and sharing between friends.

When we arrived as soon as you walked in you were hit with a smell of smoked fish which never left, it was not pleasant at all. Food was really average, no seasoning, they put a pot of salt on the table so I guess you can season yourself? The pickle for the pickled vegetables was super sweet and not pickley at all. £17 for a small plate of watery beetroot, creme fresh and a sprinkling of parmesan (still no seasoning) is outrageous. And to top it all off 15% service charge, the service from the wait staff was good, but not 15%. Overall, style over substance.

Had a business lunch there today. I arrived an hour early at 11.00 and wasn't sure if I'd arrived at the right place as there were lots breakfast pastries on display and on the dinning tables, with teas and coffee. I enquired, and I was at the right location. Before 12.00 Crispin had kicked into full lunch mode and we were offered their excellent lunch menu. The staff were brilliant, as was the menu. We ordered a variety of dishes to share and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Sven made us feel very welcome. Food outstanding and atmosphere was nice and calm. Could not fault actually anything as soon as we walked in. Highly recommend.

Date night or girls night - a relatively quiet but still busy enough wine bar vibe for a good time. No need to shout to hear your date/friend. My sister and I came here for dinner and were stuffed after only a few dishes. While they may seem small, they're filling and delicious. We got the Stilton Croquettes, the Brussels sprouts, the sardines, the mushroom risotto, and the guinea fowl. My favorites were the croquettes and the guinea fowl. The sardines were on the saltier side, but were nicely balanced with the rest of the dish. Both the Brussels sprouts and the risotto were delicious, but a bit too oily for our taste. Service was good. We had an unexpected friend come by, and they were more than happy to accommodate us at another table for drinks only. Environment is quite unique as it is a stand alone building. I liked having a full table near the back, rather than being towards the front where there seem to be bar seating/high stools. Overall, a pretty good experience.

I was expecting much better from Crispín. The food was average and expensive, and the wine list (I only looked at the red) below average and , again, very overpriced . Unfortunately I won’t recommend it and I won’t back again. Ambiance good, festive and good music. Only one bathroom in the whole restaurant. Price: £78 per person.

Small restaurant, big flavors. Nice menu with varied dishes to share. Not always surprising, but always tasty. The bread with browned butter is to die for. And the interior is attractive. It could be five stars if the concept was explained instead of having to ask. And unfortunately the extraction doesn't work properly, because my clothes smells like frying.

I usually love Crispin (their brown butter is to die for!! ) but our last visit was somewhat underwhelming. We ordered most of the starters and all of the sharing plates and were surprised at the amount of bread in the dishes (sourdough with the chicken roulade, soda bread in the soda farl and more bread in the rarebit). Whilst I love bread, I felt the menu lacked variety. The mussels were good but overcooked and barely warm. The desserts (chocolate mousse and brown butter cake) were the highlight of our meal. Crispin didn’t hit the spot on this occasion but we still had a good time and the service was great!

Delicious food, warm friendly & helpful service, and well curated wine list. Lovely vibes, perfect spot for a relaxed dinner.

Always wonder where the good reviews come from for such restaurants. The food was average at best, even if pretentious. The prices are pretty high. As a large group we were told we had to go for a set menu, which was not disclosed in advance. It was not a lot of food at a high price. Emphasis on pickles. Service albeit polite was super slow. Altogether not impressed, not going back.

Great food, great experience- the crab was our favourite dish/ brown butter cake gets a honourable mention too! Sven was exceptional and recommended us some great dishes as well as educating us on orange wine! 5 stars!

Everything was stunning - from the food to the service and the wine, really unbelievably good evening! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the food was impeccable and beautifully prepared and the overall vibe of the small restaurant was perfect! The brown butter cake was honestly the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life.

Crispin has an excellent menu and is well placed for a City evening out. Think of it as an enhanced cafe / wine bar rather than a fully fledged restaurant. The staff are happy to talk you through the concept - the plates are smaller than starter/main course but a bit larger than tapas. Perhaps figure six plates at £15 for two people. The food was excellent, good ingredients well prepared and seasoned but a bit pricey even for London.

Nice atmosphere, but experienced very unfriendly and very slow service, it felt they went out of their way to ignore us - a 20 minute wait to get a water and a 25 minute wait for a coffee after chasing several times.

We were not served. We were allowed to sit and not served. We were gracefully allowed to leave after 15 mins of being ignored by people who were clearly not busy.

Best restaurant, cafe bar in the area. Exceptional design. Superb ambience. A welcoming place offering a range of small food with a great selection of wines. Superb, polite, efficient service. Good prices. Excellent outside seating area at the back and outside. Definate visit when in the area.
