Crispies in Bristol, City of

El pescado no estaba fresco y las patatas fritas estaban empapadas y viciadas. Decepcionante y mucho peor que hace unos meses cuando visité por última vez.

Always been a regular here but over the past few months the fish been under done , batter all gloomy chips not great, been put off as 2nd time felt disappointed and the fish.was under the chips made even more soggy

Order was short of what I ordered and we found hairs in two portions. Just not good enough.

Lleva años viniendo regularmente, siempre grandes pescados con papas fritas, platos de buen tamaño y recién hechos. No iría a ninguna otra parte.

First time using ,will never use again ,worst take away I have ever had. The faggots were not homemade, two small faggots cut in half,nothing like the picture and definitely not worth £9, a rip off. The gravy was a cold lump and the pea fritter was cold and dripping in fat. I have taken pictures.

Just had the worst takeaway in my life. Delivery man could not find it even though I rang him 15 times. Meal was freezing cold but the dogs had a good fed

Food took almost 2 hours to arrive and came freezing cold! All i got was £3.45 store credit in return

What a joke. Food was just ok but the smallest battered sausage I've ever seen, 3-4 inches at best. Delivery driver "got lost" and was leaving when I had to call him back.

My road is an 'L' shape. Satnav tends to navigate to the lower end of the 'L' so delivery people invariably have to telephone me to find my house # meaning my food is getting cold.

the food was cold the delivery person took forever to get here walked to my door with my cold food as he pared around the corner of my road, took over 1 hour 15 mins to get here

CHIPS SHOULD BE BROWN! NOT WHITE RE-HEATED MUSH! THE FISH WAS GOOD, ONCE YOU GET THROUGH 2” OF UNNECESSARY BATTER, WHICH IS THERE TO MAKE THE FISH LOOK BIGGER! A WASTE OF MONEY.

Absolutamente horrible. Deberían llamarse empapados. No he tenido chips de aquí por un tiempo, pero siempre ha sido agradable. Sin embargo, esta noche son las manos las peores patatas fritas que he tenido. La grasa que gotea literalmente del pescado y las patatas fritas está tan empapada. Nunca más. ¡50 libras por el desagüe!

We dine in most times we visit. Excellent food and plenty of food. Very good value, thank you.

We didn’t receive are food. The delivery time just kept going up until 9.30pm then it said it was delivered at 9.55pm when it wasn’t even that time yet. My children and me waiting for 2 hours for it to come. My children now have to have something quick before they go to bed as their food didn’t come. This is terrible service from just eat and crispies as i had an email at 7.40 to say crispies had my order. I have requested a refund as I haven’t had any food that I ordered.

Excellent fish and chips and lots of it.If you are not a big eater don't go large .well cooked and very tasty food.

I take back my earlier review after my latest visit to this fish and chip shop, cod and chips, I know I opened the box the right side up, so I was puzzled why the fish was under the chips, I soon found out, the fish must have been a left over from lunch time, so the male server had the great idea to hide the stale fish under the chips and hoped I wouldn’t notice, well I did, and as a result I’ll never use this shop again, I spent hard earned cash and I expect freshly fried fish. The chips were ok so I give one star..

Decent fish and chips, and ok portion sizes. It took a while to get our food (maybe 15 mins) however.

Fui a las patatas fritas porque hacen la mejor hamburguesa de halloumi sin embargo cuando llegué estaba ocupado sobre todo con los pedidos en línea había una dama y un hombre sirviendo. La señora dijo que lo siento, espere, solo haré este pedido en línea y luego le serviré. No siguió haciendo otras cosas. El hombre no intentó servirme, aunque no estaba haciendo nada después de 10 minutos de pie, una señora entró y el hombre la sirvió de inmediato. Yo estaba parado en el mostrador, así que era obvio que necesitaba servir. Salí y me fui a otro lugar. Qué lástima. No volveré a ir allí como la cal. Dije que hacen lo mejor.

did not give me enough time to get to door he ranked door bar I left package on doorstep walked away so anybody could have picked my package up because it's the main foot path for people going past not happy

delicious food delivered hot and on time

the food from here outstandingly nice and consistent in quality and taste ,,the batter is always crispy never soggy ,,the hand made spring roll was also very tasty crispy and not dripping in oil/grease,,the food was still very heated on delivery and actually tasted fresh made inc. the chips ,,would highly recommend for a delicious fresh cooked take out 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Primer junio. Pedí una entrega de bacalao con patatas fritas. No hay problema con eso. Cuando abrí la caja el pez estaba nadando en aceite. Rebozado empapado. chips manchados. Creo que necesitan limpiar aceite. Chips no agradables. La comida estaba fría. No sé qué le ha ido mal a las patatas fritas. Solía ser delicioso. No irá allí o tendrá una entrega de allí de nuevo. £ 17 y se fue en la papelera. Vilento.

got a lot of the order wrong small hips not large the chesse burgers had all the trimmings when only want 2 chesse burders

Let my 15 year old daughter start a job in the last couple of weeks, started her 3rd shift today to be told she was no longer needed at the end of a busy day. What a disgraceful place, she was really happy and now you have completely dented her confidence 😡. The little fraggle busy body ordering people about who does naff all herself to help and is rude not only to customers but to staff too should be fired. Jerry the manager this is for you 15 hours she worked for you and you pay her £5.30 an hour. Disgraceful and child labour you lot should be investigated. No wonder all your staff are young kids, is it because you don’t want to pay proper money to people? If you are thinking of letting your child work here “DONT”.

ordered a pie,pastie and portion chips, pie and pasty was rock hard and chips were cold

very nice and big anothe portions as both could not eat all and that's child fish and chips .I will buy again.

If you buy here expect to wait at least 20-30 minutes every time. Not prepared and managed properly obviously. If you've got the time to wait it is nice though but poor service.

Done a takeaway and it was terrible. Took our order then waited for 20 mins and lots of others people came is got served and went so I asked what was happening and they asked me my order and forgot it so waited and finally appeared. Faggots peas and chip were pretty raw and terrible and hardly any chips and the mushy peas had 0 taste as no seasoning was added. I had chicken with added sauce and it was horrible and hardly any chicken and only a few chips. My mum. Had fish n chips her fish was all batter and hardly any chips and it cost us over £30.00 and will never go there again. I did make a complaint but they ignored it. This place has gone down hill as it used to be really good. I will stick with hengrove fishbar

In for our Friday night treat fish and chips very busy tonight but still hot and fresh when we git home (only 2 minutes from shop)

we had a large cod, large fish cake, 2 small chips, onion rings and curry sauce, all of it tasted great. it was ordered on a Friday for our evening meal and the delivery time was really good.

Delivery came without my main item the battered cod!

Savaloy been cooked for hours dry and skin like leather, chips were instant heartburn. Will not be returning.

0nce again absolutely shocking customer service again! treated like you are an inconvenience even when it was not busy. Staff more interested in sorting orders for delivery and completely ignoring the customers in the shop. I run a cafe myself and no matter how busy we are our customers always get greeted with a smile and a good morning because at the end of the day they are the people who pay the wages.

Love Crispins, been getting their takeaway for years & they are always my no 1 choice. Fish is always great quality, nice big flakes of fish & their batter is light, crispie & not greasy. Chips are usually lovely but tonight’s were a little overcooked….as though they were re-heated lunch time chips which was disappointing which is why I marked it down but usually it’s perfect.

Nothing about my food was crispy everything was stale or soggy. I've never had a bad meal from here before!! Till now. Sorry but I give the food a zero rating this time.

2019 original review. Love it here. Never had a bad meal yet. We've been going there a while now. We've never seen any reduction in quality or quantity. Staff are always great. And can have a laugh also. Which is nice because some do look a little unhappy. ☹️ Updated September 2023. Don't go anymore due to the rising cost. Five of us used to go, and it would cost around £45 in total. Two of us went quite recently and paid £28. Which would work out roughly to being an extra £5 for each meal. For fewer chips and the same fish?!?! 😪 It's not really their fault as it's the 'cost of living'. We now prefer cooking our own at home due to this.

I had the half of chicken,which was very succulent and meaty.as always the gravey was delicious.It was an excellent meal.

Was the best chip shop years ago, went there last weekend prices are expensive for hardly any chips, silly boxes instead of paper and boy serving put half of the salt shaker on top of fish cake, will never go back again.

Order came to £22 delivered thru just eat waited hour 20mins food was wrapped upon order but left in warmer til collected so when delivered it was dried up so thrown In bin. Order wrapped way too early should have been done when driver arrived. Won't be ordering from here again. £22 wasted 😡😡😡😡

The driver was arrogant, slow and wanted .e to go to the carpark to pick my food the reason I have it delivered is I am disabled don't send him again.

Went in at 7-30 to be told they were shutting at 8 and no more food would be cooked ?..we had curry and chips and to be fair the curry was spot on, the chips were ok but alot of scrappy bits for chips that were freshly cooked.... I'd rate the chips at 5/10.. and the staff need to be a little happier as it is a customer based job and they weren't very inviting.. over all 6/10
