I visited for the Mother’s Day, afternoon tea experience, on Sunday (30th 2025). This was a pre-paid experience, including a glass of Prosecco on arrival (£40 pp, which is on par with Betty’s of Harrogate prices). Held in the private dining setting, The Barrows was lovely. The young woman who came to greet us was warm and friendly, but on her own. With no one else serving, it was very apparent that she was under pressure. There were 8 tables (some with 4 people on), all seated at same time. She did her best, but there was no time for niceties. She served the tea and coffee in hot jugs, with no choice of a specialty coffee, like americano, cappuccino, and no tea pots, for a proper cup of tea. Really poor for the price we had paid!. Another girl later appeared, to help bring out the sandwich/cake bird cages. This was put down in-front of us, with a quick run down on just the sandwiches, (nothing about the miniature, 2cm width cake bites) in a very rushed and quiet voice, which my mum couldn’t hear. She then rushed off to serve the next table. No offer of any more drinks, or anything that we might have needed. The food was ‘OK’, some of the sandwiches lacked taste. Overall a poor experience which came down to poor management decisions (with staffing levels) charging drastically, inflated prices, for a poor quality experience.

We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at the restaurant with my family. The surroundings were pleasant, and the staff were friendly. The Sunday roast was enjoyable, with the beef and vegetables beautifully cooked. However, the Yorkshire puddings were dry and overcooked, and the roast potatoes tasted like they had been pre-cooked and reheated—I always find that potatoes have a different flavour when they aren’t freshly made. I love generous servings of gravy, but I was surprised to see only a small amount pre-poured on the plate. When I requested more, I was taken aback by the £2.95 charge added to the bill. Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable afternoon. I understand that Sunday dinners can never quite match the taste of homemade.

Unfortunately not the best experience. Went for Mother’s Day. The food I ordered for myself was forgotten and though they were very apologetic it took some time for it to come out and the other people I was with were almost finished when mine came. I didn’t make a fuss because what can you do? Anyway, I also explained to them my son has a milk protein allergy and asked which dessert was vegan, they directed me to the vegan carrot cake. On ordering it the gentleman said they have both a vegan and non-vegan carrot cake and I said it needs to be the vegan one for him due to his allergy. Unfortunately, this morning my son as all his symptoms back so I can only assume they have given him the non-vegan cake which is really frustrating. Luckily for them it’s a non-ige allergy meaning he didn’t go into anaphylaxis, but obviously they didn’t know that serving him the cake. I suggest better care in the future when it comes to allergies because his symptoms will now take a couple of weeks to go. I would be weary to eat here again during a busy period like Mother’s Day and would bring my son his own snack to eat after. Gave two stars for the lovely staff and lovely venue.

I stopped at this farmshop recently and was pleasantly surprised. A very clean well organised shop. A little on the expensive side though. Prices are higher than anywhere else I find. They sell everything just like a grocery store or supermarket. Most of the products of their own making. DELI COUNTER WOW , salads just looking on them you feeling hungry, fritata massive and so delicious!!!They sell freshly squeezed orange juice , if u can believe that. You should check it out.

Was looking forward to Sunday brunch with my husband as I'd visited a few times before and always enjoyed it, however, I ordered the Turkish Eggs and my husband ordered the sausage breakfast bap. Firstly, the food came out literally within 3 minutes of ordering, im still contemplating whether that's a good thing or not. The piece of toasted sourdough with my breakfast was very clearly burnt all round the edges and I'm struggling to understand how no-one picked up on that and my husband's bap came with the worst presentation, the tiniest spread of butter on just one side and two meagre sausages looked like they had been slapped in the middle, for a start, it warranted three sausages! So, don't think I will be returning whichbis such a shame.

So this was a family "get together for breakfast". Booked a table for 5 on-line for 09:15 Sunday morning. Arrived at 09:00, just in time for the gates opening. As it happened the restaurant Manager opened the gates. I would like to be fair in my review. The food was excellent and good value. The staff (ex Manager) were good, the cleanliness was good too. My issue was with our booking and the Manager. We pre-booked a table for 5 (4 adults and a small child) we were seated initially at a table in the main throughfare. I protested and asked for a "Booth style seating for our family. The manager took exception and pointed to the fact that these were reserved for pre- booked tables. I mentioned that we did in fact "Pre-book". He relented and found a table for us. My point is, The Manager is not really up to the challenge. Feel free to stand up.

Love this place and visited many times. It's normally a great pleasure to browse through the plants, homewares, food hall and then enjoy a meal in the restaurant which has a great choice of meals. Unfortunately today the experience was spoiled by the imposition of horrible pop music blasted in several areas, especially loud in the homewares dept. If you must play music, why loud shouty lyrics and why not more subdued relaxing instrumentals? Or even better, no music at all!

Overall a good experience, however the staff at the restaurant could be better at their communication skills and work on their smiles .. The food was good, averaged priced and the coffee was OK.. don't know why I thought it might be too expensive 🤔 but it wasn't. The garden centre is amazing and full of curated pieces which were a bit pricey but definitely unique designs The foodhall was a delight 😊 absolutely loved the staff there ❤️ We picked up a lot of ready to cook meals from there and they seemed a bit pricey (similar altogether Waitrose or M&S or costco rates) .. They boast a huge selection of eclectic European brands & some seemed promising (am yet to try)..

Big shout out to Alice in the events team for helping us pull this together in 4 weeks! The event space is perfect and entering via the garden is just beautiful. We didn’t have a choice of food given the short notice but we weren’t apprehensive and neither should we have been - it was superb, a real hearty people pleaser, a generous portion and clean plates all round. They were so communicative and accommodating from begin to end and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to any prospective engaged couples. Thank you. Chris and Kat x

We hadn’t made a reservation but Bruna made found us a great table that had room for our pram. The whole menu looked delicious, it was hard to pick a dish as I could’ve eaten the whole lot! All the staff were so friendly and efficient, and were more than happy to help with anything. There were only 2 x chefs in the kitchen…a huuugggeee hats off to them because it was so busy but they were knocking out the most delicious food. Well done to them! We can’t wait to return again! P.S. whoever the creative director is for the whole concept and whoever does the buying…a round of applause because you’ve hit the nail on the head!! Xxx

Very disappointing after being belittled at the front of the restaurant by the woman seating bookings. She was rude and condescending, when the online booking system was taking bookings and she was telling us that we couldn’t be seated for far longer (which is fine) just don’t be as rude and obnoxious. I had booked before we went and then re-booked whilst there and was told to stand aside so she could deal with everyone else behind us in the queue, to which the majority were turned away abruptly. Previous visits we have been given a buzzer if we didn’t have a booking or our table wasn’t ready and been able to browse the shops till our table was available. She again was very dismissive when we asked if this was an option. I’d recommend it as a nice place to browse around, it is very expensive and I’d choose somewhere else to book for your lunch, that’d likely be more welcoming, quicker service and more affordable for what you’d get.

We were excited to try their Sunday roast and were sadly disappointed. We ended up spending three hours total, mostly just waiting to catch any wait staff attention. We ended up having to get up and flag down a waiter multiple times to get served. It took about 30 minutes to get drinks and about an hour to get food. The roast was pretty good. Chicken was really great, but the Yorkshire pudding was way overdone and partly burnt. We then had to ask for the dessert menu and bill multiple times. The dessert was lovely, but also had to wait way too long. There were plenty of staff walking around, but just nobody wanting to actually serve us or come over to our table. Overall really disappointing. We also wanted to walk around the shop and Foodhall after, but we ended up waiting so long that the stores closed by the time we finished.

Food was good and service from the waiters was great. However, the manager spoke to my wife extremely rudely when she was breastfeeding our baby in a place a waiter had helpfully guided her to breastfeed (as our table space was too narrow). He told her very abruptly that she must move and should not have been there (at an empty table). There was no apology. Needless to say, it ruined our first meal out since baby was born.

Went yesterday on arrival at 11.36 told it was now lunch menu even though said earlier menu cut off was 11.45. We were ok with that, shown to a table we were given menus but no one came to offer coffee until 5 past 12, to say sorry lunch was running late & would be 10 or 15 mins. By this time we'd been sat down 20 mins with no drinks. All the staff seemed a bit stressed no one very pleasant, we decided not to wait any longer and left. We went into the little cafe in the garden centre & had a sandwich there. The 2 girls working there were lovely & the sandwich & coffee was fab. The food is always amazing here I'm surprised they can't sort out the customer service in the restaurant all the other staff here are really friendly. I'd give 5 stars to the cafe but the restaurant needs sorting.

John C saved us a great disappointment next December. We were about to buy what we thought were warm white tree lights in the sale when John checked that we knew these were classic white lights which, in fact, are a yellow shade of white. I ordered the beetroot and hummus sandwich. I didn't realise there was such a global shortage of beetroot and chunky hummus that they decided to miss them off the sandwich. According to the waitress an alternative reason they were missing was the chef is busy! I understand why they don't offer refunds as they would be refunding more than they take!

So disappointed in the service. The supervisor was fantastic but unfortunately the service was atrocious. We were shown a good table as we booked but waited 20 minutes before we had to ask staff to take our order. We had to chase up the food and were offered no condiments to accompany the cooked food. We were also offered no complimentary jugs of tap water as were other tables who were served before us. The tea and coffee arrived 20 minutes after our food which was not good for a cafe charging top prices. The supervisor I repeat was superb and offered us discount, however the service ruined the visit. I do understand that restaurants are busy however they should limit the numbers if they are unable to offer proper service. We may have been unlucky but will think twice about eating here again. As a footnote we spent a lot of money in the shop.

We have been here several times - always exceptionally good……… However, we came for mid afternoon lunch before going to Manchester for a concert…. 50% of us were disappointed ! In this country, burgers are always an issue. Depends on who made them, bought in frozen, made fresh etc as to how they can be cooked. A barmy arrangement as they are no different to a steak, or indeed steak tartare ! I asked if I could have the Wagyu Beef burger cooked to order….. No, well done. Ok, still, I thought, prime Wagyu Beef, seared, tasty - will still be good, so I went for it. Oh My… Birds Eye do a better burger, sorry. If that really was Wagyu, the beast must have missed several massages 🤣 Anyhow, Woody enjoyed what I just couldn’t finish. The first time I have been disappointed at such a normally excellent establishment. Change the recipe, use only beef and salt and pepper - no fillers or other stuff. If you want inspiration, go to Farmhouse, knocks spots off yours. Her Croque Monsieur was superb, wish I had ordered it….

There is a food hall & very large well stocked shop with Christmas & other items for sale including seasonal plants. There is a little snug selling sandwiches & sausage rolls amongst other items. Well worth a visit even if you don't use the restaurant.

I have never felt more unwelcome than at the Weetons restaurant. Despite not being advertised as 'By Reservation Only', my friends and I were treated rudely by staff when we arrived and requested a table for coffee & brunch. Staff seemed to see us as an inconvenience, even though the restaurant was almost completely empty. We were told that we could not sit in the main restaurant (only the coffee area at the front) and furthermore that we could not order food. When we were served our coffees, they were the wrong order, yet we were made to feel like it was our fault. The service was so appauling, that one of my friends commented 'why do I feel like they hate us?' I used to think very highly of the Weetons brand, but would not return to the restaurant at the Leeds Road store due to the poor customer service and attitudes of staff.

A Transformative Experience! We have been visiting this destination for years but in recent years its really stepped up its game, now a Restaurant, Food Hall, Home + Garden Centre and even an Event Hire! It has always been a charming spot for garden lovers, but over the past few years, it has truly transformed into a must-visit destination. Here's a what you can expect: Dining Experience: The restaurant at Weetons has elevated its offerings significantly. The menu now boasts an array of dishes that cater to both casual diners and those looking for a more upscale dining experience. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between rustic charm and modern sophistication, making it suitable for a relaxed lunch or an elegant evening out. Standouts include their locally-sourced Yorkshire Beef and the artisan cheese platter, which perfectly complements the local wine selection. Service is warm and attentive, ensuring a dining experience that feels both indulgent and homely. Food Hall: The food hall has always been a highlight, but now it has expanded its repertoire. Shelves are stocked with an impressive range of both local and international products. From freshly baked bread to exotic spices, and from homemade preserves to a wide selection of craft beers, the food hall now caters to a broader palate. The quality and diversity of the produce are commendable, reflecting Weetons' commitment to supporting local artisans while also embracing global flavours. Home + Garden Centre: Newly added to the Weetons experience, the Home + Garden Centre is a delightful extension. It features an array of gardening supplies, plants, and home decor items that blend seamlessly with the aesthetic of Harrogate's countryside charm. Whether you're looking to enhance your garden or seeking unique home accessories, this section provides both inspiration and quality products. The staff here are knowledgeable, often offering tips on plant care or interior styling. Event Hire: Weetons has started offering event hire, which is ideal for those planning intimate gatherings or corporate events. The venue can be adapted to different themes, and the in-house catering team ensures that food and beverages are tailored to the occasion. Their attention to detail in setting up and executing events has been praised by those who've used the service, highlighting the flexibility and professionalism of the team. What makes Weetons stand out is not just the individual enhancements but how they've integrated to offer a comprehensive lifestyle destination. It's not merely about shopping or dining; it's an experience that invites visitors to linger, explore, and enjoy. The transformation of Weetons into a multifaceted venue where one can spend an entire day—browsing, eating, and even planning events—speaks volumes about its understanding of modern consumer needs. It's now a vibrant hub for food, culture, and community in Harrogate, making every visit delightful and new. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this spot has something for everyone, all wrapped up in a beautifully curated package. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the best of Yorkshire's culinary and lifestyle offerings.

Nicely laid out garden centre. Restaurant food is pricey, but quality is very good. Plenty of variety in the shop. Some products were a bit ridiculously priced past what is reasonable. But if you want the convenience of getting it there rather than driving somewhere else to get it for half the price then that's the choice you make. I only marked down a star as there was no staff working the checkouts when I went to pay and the manager of the shop on her own little counter seemed self entitled like it was beneath her to serve a customer wanting to pay for goods. She also made a rude dismissive comment which I thought was unprofessional and really bad customer service. The woman who ended up serving me on the checkout was polite and helpful, but there was a considerable delay as some of the product barcodes weren't loaded on to their til system and had to be put through manually by someone else. Overall a nice place that I'd visit again, and hopefully by then those in charge will have taught the shop manager how to correctly interact with customers and ensured that the products they are selling are correctly priced and loaded onto their systems.

I only went to the smaller coffee shop behind the gift shop, but it was enjoyable. The coffees and teas were nice, we shared a slice of lemon blueberry cake which was good, and I had a small cheese and onion quiche. That was not so great and the assistant didn't seem knowledgeable about the items available, not how to properly prepare them. Otherwise, a nice atmosphere, and I would return again. The gift shop seemed like it had some nice products.

It would have been 5 stars but unfortunately they fell short by charging me for hot water and omitted it from the beverages menu or informing me at the table . Nice breakfast came to £60 for two including tips with extra tea and scones. By all means it's your perogative to charge but all charges should be transparent . A pot of water should be stated on the menu as a charge .
