Absolutely wonderdul pub with great facilities but seem to have grumpy and unfriendly staff

Parked in the car park Saturday morning just after 11am for an early drink, back door was locked as was the front. Barman came and unlocked the door told me I needed to move my car as it was in staff parking. No manners no please or thank you, I did move my car I drove home as didn't want to spend my money there & won't be back. 1. Rude & obnoxious barman 2. Staff parking sign was hidden in the hedgerow

Good local pub in a nice little town centre

When the place was run by Matt and Jackie it was awesome and was very reserved about my local being taken over by strangers but one man stands out. His name is Sheldon! He is perfect for the pub trade and has built that much of a rapport with customers that I would champion him running the crickets

Was devastated when Matt and Jackie vacated the pub. I did not hold out much for the interim staff, but one temporary staff member stands out for me and think he has incredible potential to run this pub himself. Despite the fact he is only training he has endeared himself to all the locals and they would love to see him stay. The man in question is Sheldon and hopefully that man is given his chance to succeed.

Not a dog friendly pub, the landlord is allergic dogs.

Definitely the best pub in town. Recently refurbished from top to bottom, the bar is light and welcoming. Good range of beers, ciders and spirits, served by friendly and willing staff.

Says they accept dogs both on Google and on their website. Arrived and was told they don't accept dogs, it is NOT a dog friendly pub regardless of what the attached information states.

A nice pub in the town with a really good beer garden I'm not sure on the situation with the food so can't give it 5 without eating there first

Relaxed atmosphere, pleasant staff, TV's for the sport or cosy seating to just talk. In the summer a pleasant beer garden beckons. Recent renovation has enhanced the venue. More TVs more polished décor. Staff efficient and drink selection wide and varied. Still my favourite Thatcham venue.

Social distancing was spot on. Every member of staff was quick to serve and made us feel very welcome straight away.

A well run good medium size pub in Thatcham with an outside area. Staff friendly nothing seemed too much trouble on the day we went in. The young lady behind the bar was very good.

Great village local packed with regulars but friendly to outsiders. Fantastic sunny large southfacing beergarden. Came in for one but stayed for many and spent several hours here.

Good process on the beer and showed both Saturday football matches.

A cosy pub with a great atmosphere, old fashioned decor, and a cracking beer garden for the summer. Shows most sports, if that's your thing. The only downside is that it's a tiny bit more expensive than other pubs in the area. I would consider it well worth the extra outlay though.

10 February The Crickets is a popular pub in the high street where you can meet up with friends. The staff there are nice as well.

Good for a summer drink in the garden which is deceptively bigger than you’d expect from the outside. The pub is more of a ‘pub’ than a ‘family with kids’ place. Good to watch the sports events and a good pint and crisps.

Got to see a fight, sells Doombar.

Been a local here for years. Awesome place, great staff and decent pricing.
