Creams Cafe in Southend-on-Sea

Popped in for dessert after a terrible Italian round the corner. I had white chocolate crepe and my partner had kinda cookie dough. Delicious!!! If this way again would definitely be back. Service was good, food reasonably priced and tasted lovely!

I now know why it was empty at a peak time on a sunny Saturday… stay away and find somewhere (anywhere) better. The presentation of this place is pleasant, the menus are a bit tired, but that made me assume it was probably a busy place… apparently not. We were only the second table when we arrived, it peaked at three (including us) and when we left there were 2 tables with people on. Allergen information is not available, luckily I’d been on the website so was happy enough. But this is actually a legal requirement now so I am unsure how they are getting away with this. Firstly on going to the counter I was obviously an imposition. One blue assed fly of an employee taking orders and making them… whilst 4 are chatting at the end of the bar and ignoring customers. After a while a few of the staff donned masks and cleaning products to help clean the facilities… I’m concerned how they continued to wear them behind the food service counter but I had my order by then so it didn’t affect me. On eventually ordering I can honestly say they are the most inflexible workers(?!) I have dealt with in a while. I’m disappointed that the affogato doesn’t allow you to pick a flavour as you can in countless places (it adds something and gets people wanting to come back to try another flavour… why on earth would you want repeat business? I mean if people return you might actually have to work!). It’s made with the whippy ice cream, which tastes great, so the flavour is good. Apparently the staff don’t understand what a “white americano” or a “white coffee” is so we were forced to order a flat white even though americano is on the menu. The milkshake was pleasant, with lots of options available, if you want a milkshake (eventually as our order was forgotten!) then this is an option… as are the 101 ice cream parlours available here, and they will probably appreciate the business more. The staff were inattentive, ignoring customers and making you feel like a huge inconvenience. I probably have high expectations when I see “instagrammable” on an item, those dishes we saw going past I would not have identified as necessarily pretty or quirky but each to their own. I’m unlikely to ever return to a creams after this as sadly I think the staff just make it not worth the expense.

Received a delivery late Saturday night. Sadly.....the food delivered, is less in the boxes ans baged up, compaired to what the photo's look like on the menu. It was a special occasion, the deserts in total cost near on £30. We were all so disappointed. I called the shop.....no one picked up. The management must be desperate for staff these days. What a Waste Of Money BE WARNED !!!!!!

Nachos don’t come with guacamole even those it says on website both times none and donuts don’t come as seen on website and misses the biscuits.

Attend for my daughters birthday treat…served by very young and very slow people with very little customer service abilities (arguably not their fault, clearly young girls trying to earn some pocket money)…..waffles arrived and tasted disgusting and sour, went back to swap to something else, unable to do this, had to request a refund then order something else…after waiting over 20 minutes at the till, children lost interest, daughter upset, requested a full refund only for the staff to spend more time trying to access the system via watsapp with the manager “upstairs”.said manager “Marie” eventually turns up, extremely rude, not one apology for poor service and food, not one smile, and a sarcastic answer to everything. Absolutely appalling customer service from her, and because of her we will never step foot in here again. Vile lady. Disgusting food. Poor service from the young people left to their own devices and when I commented it would be nice if their manager came to support them they reply “we are use to it”. Feel sorry for them. Avoid at all costs!!!

Went there to take away ice cream for my 8 year old. For the first 5 minutes the staff did not pay attention and were busy only servicing the eat in customer. There were only 3 to 4 tables occupied and we were the only other customers for take away. When asked the member of staff to take our order (we wanted to catch 8.22 pm train from central station), the staff rudely asked us to order over the app. We walked away from there after this. Absolutely rubbish experience, especially made unpleasant due to inefficient staff.

Strong advice. Do not bother to go here. All done by bar codes. Had to make an account with all our personal details too. One plain waffle and one plain pancake cost nearly £15 and arrived with a small scoop of icecream which was supposed to be banoffee. Would not have cost even 10p to make either. Never will we darken their doors again. Never!

We have visited creams a couple of times and it’s has been nice , this time we visited as a birthday treat for one of our children and we all had different things the waffle wasn’t that warm, the cookie dough was the same, the cheesecake was a bit bland, but our youngest had a mixture of ice cream scoops and that’s when we found a big piece of plastic!!!! Hidden half way through the portion of ice cream, I immediately took the whole lot back to the counter . And when offered a second portion we refused ,I mean seriously we aren’t touching any other ice cream again after that , however being offered a refund for that ice cream alone would have been ok but we just wanted to leave at that point! And we won’t be returning!!!

Absolutely disgusted with my creams trip back in November 2021 so as you do I complained to them straight away about my food I got. Unfortunately we did take away so I didn’t know what food we got until we got home so I found an email and emailed them, it took a couple weeks for them to email me back and ask some more questions which I replied straight away but since then I’ve had no one respond (it’s now March 2022). I have an allergy to soft serve ice cream and whipped cream so when I ordered my waffle I clearly said can I change my ice cream to a sorbet which the lady serving was not happy about but said I’d have to pay £2.50 more which isn’t a problem (even thou I think that’s a ridiculous price.. but so is the whole menu) anyway, when we got home and opened up the bag it was awful! They gave me soft serve ice cream in a pot with TIN FOIL over it so both pots of Iceream had melted everywhere!! Then to make it worse my other half ordered a strawberry waffle and got the soggiest strawberry’s on top which weren’t only white also only got about 4 slices. We normally love creams as a treat every now and then but I can honestly say not only was the staff rude but the food was shocking

We visited this evening as it was my sons birthday. They no longer seem to have menus and so have to scan a QR code to get access to the menu and order your ice cream. When I added our order to the basket I proceeded to the checkout and was greeted with a request to create an account..........I don't want to give over my details just to order an ice cream, why is there no guest checkout option. I asked if there was another way of ordering and was told that there wasn't any other way of ordering. I do question the legality of what they are doing.........I cant ever imagine going into McDonald's and being asked for my details to be able to order a burger. I will never spend any more money in this establishment!!!!!

When we arrived, we stood at the 'please wait here' area for a few minutes until anybody came to us, even though there appeared to be a few staff members not doing anything. After a few minutes, somebody took us to our table, but it wasn't the warmest of welcomes, I must say. The café was fairly empty - there were about 4 tables of customers, even though it was fairly empty the staff bunched us all near each other. I don't get why they didn't try and spread customers out. When ordering, you now order through your phone, it's a simple process and you can make alterations to your order. The desserts arrived promptly and were delicious. I opted for extra sauce as I know they are quite stingy with their toppings. A waiter came up to us and said there were no fantas even though on the menu it said they were out of stock. We changed our drinks to something else, but then my partner saw lots of cans of fantas and tangos in their front fridge. So, I have no idea why they didn't let us have fanta. The prices are quite expensive for what you get, especially as they are stingy with the toppings, if they were more generous with toppings the pricings would be good. Staff don't seem to be enthusiastic or excited to work there, they need to work on their customer service and do some training.

when me and my friend got into cremes they didn’t have friendly service while waited to be seated there was no one in there and they could clearly see us waiting but didn’t seat us for at least 5 minutes, the man come across rude to us when we was seated and after we ordered our crepes i got half way through my crepe and found a hair, they then said i couldn’t have a refund and could make me another one instead but that’s all they could do i said no thank you, he walked off and then told me to come to the front desk where they eventually gave me a refund. never going back again.

What a let down. Looked amazing from outside. Checked the menu online, seemed a bit expensive but thought would treat the children to a nice dessert. There was nobody at any of the other tables, place was empty. Was seated in the furthest away possible table from where you have to order. Walked past various dirty tables that looked like they hadn’t been cleared for quite a while. Was brought the menu and told to order when ready. They didn’t leave out kids menus (we had 2 kids with us) and it said on the main menu to ask for the kids menu, so we just went online. Went to order, they said they dont do kids food. We showed them the menu and said yes you do. The guy looked at the lady, who then came over and said no we don’t do kids food. At which point we gave up and left. No wonder there was NOBODY in the place. Surely their target market would be kids and their parents?? Miserable, unhelpful, cold, dirty and not children friendly.

Got some cookie dough. I looked at the pictures and it looked pretty big and me and my friend were sharing it. Paid £8 for the smallest tupperware pot of cookie dough and the ice cream took longer to eat than the cookie dough (it was tiny). It was also very gross and tasted as if it had just been microwaved and was still cold. We went to Creams in a large group to celebrate a birthday.After queuing for sometime to be served I finally had my cheesecake brought over to our table, my faced dropped when my New York cheesecake was placed in front of me and looked nothing like the picture. I said to the assistant that the fruit was missing from the dish and was brought over a few strawberries in a small bowl. Please see the photos to see the difference and also I won’t be returning there as I think the trades description act should come into play.

I went to Creams as a guest at my Grandaughter's 10th birthday party. The children were obviously all excited and after ordering went straight to the photo booth which unfortunately wasn't working. to the creeit of the styaff, however, they did get it working and all the childfen having their phbotos taken. Unfortunately 2 of the 16 desserts that had been ordered came almost immediately and we had to get the children back in the expectation that the rest were following on. This did not happen and it was at least 15 minutes before they started arriving in drips and drabs. The creations were however delightful but I question whether they were value for money. To their credit the staff did not mind the noise that 12 children were making in ther excitement of a party - they were used to it I imagine. This was an nteresting couple of hours.

I am in Creams now and just ordered a Strawberry Choc Indulgence! Indulgence is an under statement! The waffle was the dearest one I am presuming because of the advertised indulgence? Well it was the thinest ice cream topping chocolate sauce you have ever seen and i had about 1, not fresh but fermented tinned strawberry so thinly sliced it must have gone through a cheese slicer! It that's indulgent I would hate to think would a normal waffle topping would be! Wont be returning its Sprinkles all the way for me from now on! All fresh there and proper milk chocolate melted sauce. Creams is a total joke!

Have to say this was my first trip to creams I found it clean and tidy we were immediately shown to a table where the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was amazing I had waffles which were light fluffy and throughly enjoyable even though I couldn’t eat the whole of it. Thought was good value too 35 for 5 of us will go back again

Prior to becoming Vegan there was nothing I liked more than to go to Creams and eat Cookie Dough until I felt too sick to move so when I heard they had a new Vegan Menu I had to go and check it out. Now it wasn't really cookie dough lets be honest, it tasted more like cake and was a bit 'stuck in your throat, clogging your esophagus, I can't breathe-y' BUT would I get it again? hell yes. The Chocolate Ice Cream was surprisingly good too

Came here for a treat but found it was just average the decour is very dark so feels like you are in a night club.

We went here for contact with our children. First impression is that it is very dark and dingy looking does need to have better lighting and seating could be updated and replaced as seats are worn. Kids enjoyed milkshake and cream we had cup of tea.

Came in today (14-08-19) with my family and had the best service possible, cannot thank Maria enough for the smiles she gave and wonderful service she gives. 10/10 for everything will return!

Having been in a couple of times I can confirm while the treats are ok they are no where near worth what they are actually charging you are better off grabbing a tub of ice cream and chilling at home in your underwear as you will be able to grab a bottle of wine and still save money and properly still stand a better of getting laid

We thought we’d visit creams as had been a nice place for me and my girlfriend when we first met. When creams was all the rave and everyone was going there, the service was great and food was excellent. However our last 2 visits have really upset/disappointed us.

I ordered over just eat and I was surprised with how quick it turnt up and the quality of the food,the portions were pretty good. I'm so happy they now have just eat cause you can get special discounts with them so I cant wait to order through them again.

I visit creams quite often with my friends we tend to order milkshakes and waffles, Still yet to be disappointed by the quality of food its always to the highest standards.

My two kids decided to treat me to a creams for my birthday, I was pleasantly surprised when the staff even came to my table to sing happy birthday to me . Per usual no complaints food was as good as ever. Staff were very friendly. And the service was incredibly quick for a busy Friday. The staff there are doing a great job and I hope that they know that.

So my husband and I visited creams today as we are on a holiday though of treating ourself to some desserts, went in ordered our food , all good so far , I ordered a Lotus Biscoff waffle which comes with crumbled Lotus Biscoff pieces on it however mine came with just 2 pieces of biscuits on it ,on asking the waitress she said that’s how they serve at this particular creams , though the menu clearly says crumbled , I said ok and started eating , now the waffle was soft , cold and rubbery, but this point I was so put off that I called the waitress and asked her for a refund as I was not happy with the quality of the product I was then told that they don’t do refunds at this outlet , I asked to speak to the manager they had an asst store manger (Maria )on shift so she comes (show time ) she was so rude the min she came in , instead of solving the problem she blamed us of being rude to her staff and went on about how hard they work nothing of this was mentioned by us , she was literally shouting at us in front of other customers saying I make 300 waffles a day how comes you have a problem? the lady was so horrible had zero customer service and no patience whatsoever, we were so embarrassed after this incident as we had people looking at us while this lady insults us and walks away , we did not want to carry on as it was getting ugly , however while we were getting ready to leave we heard her calling us out in front of her colleagues about the whole episode we just quickly walked away as it didn’t feel safe there anymore , we were petrified of this lady as she came across so agressive she wouldn’t even let us complete a sentence and just start shouting at us . At the end of this episode it felt like we payed £15.90 to get insulted, absolutely the worst experience ever , the lady should seriously be fired as she was so so so rude I cannot exaggerate enough, it’s not about the money anymore it’s left such a bad taste in our mouth I’m so gutted .This incident has scared us I don’t think we would be visiting any creams especially this one ever , as it would bring back this memory.

Having read the mixed reviews, I felt a bit cynical but had a really positive experience.

After a meal out we decided to go to Creams for dessert. It didn't disappoint, I had crêpe my partner had a cheery sundea both were amazing. Definitely go back 😊

Delivery service - To be fair the delivery service was good and quick. Two orders costing £23 One Bueno waffle, one Bounty waffle, and to say we were disappointed was an understatement. The Bounty waffle, had hardly any chocolate sauce on it, infact I suspect that the bottle had run out whilst preparing this, as for chocolate shavings, didn't see any unless they were hiding under the desiccated coconut. the Bueno Waffle didn't fair much better. All in all not worth the money, a little more ingredients on the actual items would have been better. Wont be ordering again.

I went to creams with my friends and I have to say it is the best dessert shop I have been to.The desserts are amazing there.I had a oreo with chocolate ice-cream in a gigantic cup which was a size of a trantular.

Went to see Avengers Endgame. Had meal before, so we weren't too hungry, but still fancied something sweet. Tried Banana & Strawberry crepes, Maple waffles and Caribean drink. Drink a bit too sweet, but the rest great, including service. Quite tidy place, but that is more fault of guests, so thanks!

Since it was raining out side I thought I'd come in to have a waffle and coffee to warm my self up before work. That staff were so kind and helpfull. Maraia who welcomed me at the door and brang my food over was so nice and they were generous with the toppings aswell :)

Popped into Creams after Caddies, and was disappointed to see their range of ice-creams had reduced, meaning they had nothing special to offer that I couldn't get from my local supermarket for a fraction of the pice.

My girlfriend and I went here for lunch and I was unaware that one of my friends worked at the restaurant (not being bias to him for the review). The customer service we had from both Autumn and Lee was what im calling Banterlious. The food was great, Autumn and Lee's customer service was excellent and the price for the food is decent.

I came here for my brother's birthday as a treat. We each ordered waffles, and had two freakshakes which were amazing in both taste and presentation. All of our food was served to us by a gracious host named Maria within 10 minutes of ordering. Overall, an awesome time out. Would highly recommend to others!

often go here whenever we get a nandos, i love the waffles and vanilla icecream or the mint choc. not too keen on the crepes with lemon as the sugar is so gristly. they need to use icing sugar maybe.

Decided to finish my time in Southend with an ice cream and Creams looked the right sort of place - one of that new breed of high street sit-down ice cream and waffle places with too much neon and leatherette seats.

Table for Two and dessert for twenty, so hard to choose just one.

Today’s meal was a far cry from a soggy waffle. I enjoyed the Apple Crumbled, the first waffle I ever tried three years ago. It’s still as yummy as I remember! The staff here are all super friendly and helpful, especially our host, Maria, who brought a jovial atmosphere to the table. Our order was taken by the manager who is a shining example of their team. Finally, our meals were made by Luke, who is clearly very experienced as the food he produced was top quality! Great value for money, and overall a lovely evening.

A couple of mates and I decided to stop by for a "cheat meal" and what can I say it was well worth it. We were greeted and seated by very friendly staff who immediately got to making sure we were settled in.

We went out for a treat for the children, ordered all the deserts at the same time and by the time the last one arrived the first person had finished. The picture of the sponge cake my daughter had looked amazing with a drizzle of strawberry sauce, when this came out it was swimming in sauce and the sponge was rock hard, we called a member of staff over who said its because we microwave them as they come out the fridge, i get that to warm them through but this had either been microwaved too long or was stale?? no apologies at all, needless to say she never ate it! The table was dirty and my dad ended up with chewing gum on his sleeve that some nice person had stuck to the side of the table. What a shame as we were really looking forward to this.

I took my 8 year old granddaughter and 3 year old grandson for an after school treat last Thursday(1st Nov).

Today I came in with my cousin as we ordered desserts and drinks, obviously food was amazing and so was the staff.

Took my son here for a treat. Not a nice place. It is quite dark, maybe so you can't tell what your are eating! The seats are scruffy and ripped and it just looks grubby.

We always pop in here before going to the cinema . My wife has a scoop of black cherry and I have the chocolate both is a very crispy fresh cone . Very yummy looking forward to our next visit soon

Our food came out separately. My crepe was burnt and they tried to cover it with extra chocolate sauce! The ice cream in the pop waffle tasted off! And the pop waffle itself was raw! An overall poor experience with poor communication skills from staff!

Today me and my baby cakes visited this wonderful cafe. The staff were so amazingly helpful, I coudknt read the menu so they sat with me and explained everything, the staff members looks were overwhelming, my sugarplum wasn’t happy with me because I found myself attracted to this staff member, I suppose that’s what you get when you’re gay and using her as a beard? When we finally ordered I was so scared because I couldn’t remember what the options were but out of nowhere the staff member who had previously helped me came back for more, my face lit up quicker than child at Christmas. After his help I decided what I wanted, a plain waffle with sugar on top. The smell was like nothing I’ve ever imagined, the taste felt like it was straight out of willy wonkers factory, I couldn’t help but lick the plate afterwards, I just wanted more and more but there wasn’t any left. Me and my creamy pie decided that we’d come back every week but we all know why I’m coming back, I never got his name but I’ll never forget that dreamy face. Long story short my experience has changed my life forever and I can’t thank the staff enough for what they’ve done and the memories I’ve made, thank you from the bottom of my heart, I love you all forever and always ❤️❤️

I come in everyday before work to order a milkshake or a smoothie, always quality and staff are always so friendly and helpfull.

Went yesterday with a couple of friends for a takeaway, and decide to ask for the new waffle. Pay almost 7£, and for my surprise it was the worst waffle that I haver had!! No flavour, the ice creams for the takeaway have been mix with another ice creams that we don’t order!! Well not a good experience for the first time....

Had the strawberry and cream crepe and it was absolutely disgusting chocolate sauce was watery and had no taste to it strawberries was sour and rank the crepe was so undercook definitely wasn’t fresh taste like some sh*t they put in the microwave for a few minutes really disappointed as always order here now I won’t again after that so vile if it wasn’t covered in pissy water no flavour chocolate sauce sure would of found some mould on those strawberries

Absolutely amazing for my sweet tooth. So far the best desert restaurant I've been too. Clean, service great, staff very friendly and helpful, overall atmosphere was superb. Crepes are to die for, beautiful icecream too. Keep up the hard work.

Two guys working behind the counter in deep conversation f ing and binding at each other while a girl is moaning she’s the only one cleaning. What a lovely relaxing treat we’ve had

Friendly staff that were only too happy to serve. All of them at their stations doing their role the best they can. All well presented polite young adults.

Very good selection of different dessert, milkshakes are very nice, very friendly staff and very nice location, good interior as well.

On pensait aller dans un endroit un peu spécial et l'on se retrouve dans un endroit où l'on vous installe,on vous passe un menu tout décrépi et déchiré. Vous faites votre choix et vous allez commander au bar puis on vient vous servir.

Visited this cafe today for Father’s day and really disappointed with both the service and the quality of food.

I do not mind paying slightly more for a good product but all of our deserts were disappointing. The Ferrero Rocher crêpe was so tough that it couldn’t even be cut with a knife and there were only two chocolates on it and two scoops of ice cream really not worth the money.

We stopped by in Creams for coffee and crepes there were 4of us and we had savoury crepes and a normal one with lemon and sugar

The greeter at door didnt seem to be enjoying her job or wanting to be there.However i really enjoyed my cookie dough with ice cream but it was a bit pricey but delicious.

Ok so we had a bad experience in Maya’s went on to Nando’s fantastic food great experience. What’s for pudding .

Took my 7 & 9 year olds here yesterday afternoon. We sat in one of the booths which was comfy and girls liked the glitzy decor and pop music playing in background. You order at the till and food is then bought to your table....

I enjoyed our milkshakes and sundaes. I hope to come back to this creams real soon. Person on till was really nice to us as she knew it was our first time here.
