Lovely bar with a great view. Well priced food and drink, and great friendly bar staff. Wonderful venue for enjoying a sunny day.

Such a great place to catch some afternoon sun with a nice view, drinks are well priced with cocktails two for £15, dj was playing on the Saturday we went, good music and atmosphere, would definitely recommend.

Chalk A-board on pavement offering burger and pint special. Barman said no kitchen so I asked why the board had been put, shrug of shoulders. Did he put it away - nope. All in all a poor experience

100% would recommend going here!!!!!! Me and 2 friends went to this pub with our dogs. They had dog bowls with fresh water. this drinks were reasonably priced considering the crisis. We ordered a pitcher of sex on the beach which was lovely in the sun. we were also brought blankets when it started to get chilly outside. The bar staff were lovely and even though they were busy still came to check if our food and drink was good. Only downside was the music didnt really match the pub. but other than that we had a great time talking with the owner and other regulars.

As my husband, pups and I were walking along the cliff tops, he commented in all his years of drinking in Southend he had never been here. I had, years ago, when a different family ran it. The name ‘sliceria’ on the sign made us think we might be able to get some pizza. They had an outside terrace so good with the pups, we decided to stop. None of the tables had chairs out, so I went and got 2 chairs from the stack in the corner. No big issue but still, not a great start. Inside lots of staff were buzzing around cleaning the toilet area. There was a young lady behind the bar and I asked about food. She said she wasn’t sure if they were serving and she would check and let me know. She never did. The choice of beers was weak so I went for 2 espresso martinis from a tap system they had. They weren’t badly priced. They were well presented. As I went out to my husband he explained he had just witnessed the management having a go at a woman in a wheelchair who was very upset as she had had an ‘accident’ (hence the toilet area cleaning). She was apologising saying ‘I’m sorry I just couldn’t hold it, I couldn’t wait’ Apparently he shouted at her ‘you are not welcome back here again!’ Absolutely nobody should be shamed for a toileting accident- young, old, disabled or able bodied. It’s deeply humiliating alone- never mind being shouted at for it. The only reason I have given this 2 rather than 1 rating is that he came out with a big bowl of fresh water for my dog. We will not return, despite being dog friendly, as I don’t believe they are very human friendly, nor do they have great choice in drinks. And we can’t comment on food. View is nice though. Shame!

Danny and Maz are so welcoming. Good selection of beer and freshly made food. Dog friendly, children friendly, go there, enjoy and be friendly.

I was going to question the cost of my order but after reading the reviews I decided not to. Maybe I’m out of touch but half a strongbow and a packet of cheese and onion crisps £4.25!?

Went here for a drink . I cannot tell you how rude the owner is. He was literally screaming vile abuse and dangerous threats to a man walking by . Threatening death to him and his family . When we said this was disgraceful and not what we’d come out to hear he swore at us and told us to …off, threw money back at us and said don’t come back! Not that we would ! Unbelievable tbh .. this is totally a true account at what happened

Do not go to this bar ! The owner was using threatening behaviour to another man whilst we was trying to relax and hav a drink! He was threatening to cut his throat if he came back . My friend said do you mind we’re trying to enjoy our drinks and he became more abusive , what a vile man I cannot believe that this day n age someone is allowed to run a business which such a vile & bad temper this is the second time I’ve seen him like this and would never step foot in there again, absolute discusting behaviour

Booked for January, 4 tickets to attend a event. Due to a family friend being told she has a illness and couldn't attend i request a refund, from January until now ( mid march ) I've been told its been done even though it clearly hasn't. I understand at times businesses rely on a income but the lies every week im messaging knowing they have done nothing about it. My friend is relying on this money at a hard time and would be nice to get the truth. Unfortunately it seems this business if very selfish and dont consider people dont need this at certain times. Will definitely warn everyone i know.

A girl with pink bits at the front of her hair couldn’t tell if she was new or not was very slow and came across very rude and clueless, however the food was nice would say that the prices of the drinks where too high but that might just be because of the setting, wouldn’t go back again

After witnessing racial abuse from one customer to another customer a few weeks back and the manager doing absolutely nothing I will never be revisiting. This is unacceptable EVER but especially in 2021. Lots of other nice places to visit in the area where everyone feels welcome and looked after as they should

We walked past here a few times and always looked busy , a lovely situated bar with a nice sea view as in the name. Staff were friendly and efficient and priced about average. We sat in the outside seating area which has clear shelter to shield you from the wind , we didn’t eat but can imagine it all being rather nice.

Very nice staff, friendly people, Dan the owner is always up for a joke, kind man. Great view. Good food.

I walk past this place all the time but I’m always on my way somewhere else and have never had time to stop there . Today the sun was shining and I went with my partner . Lovely sun patio with great views , great value for money and very friendly staff

Visited this place and was disgusted to hear racial abuse towards a lovely family, manager and staff did absolutely nothing. This person should have been asked to leave immediately. Its shocking and disgusting. We left along with other customers. Give this place a miss. There are many nicer places to eat and drink in Southend. Will never go again.

Had a lovely visit to this seafront bistro. We had a superb lunch which was well cooked, followed by several long cool lagers. The manager Dan was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we wanted.All in all a very nice way to spend a few hours under a parasol.Will definitely be returning.

I visited this bar with friends over the weekend, I sipped espresso martini in the afternoon sun and had wonderful time. The bar staff were friendly and they had a fabulous DJ that really made a difference creating a great atmosphere. I’ll be back 👍

Today I was subjected to unprovoked racial abuse at this restaurant by another customer. I immediately told the manager who did absolutely nothing. His words were ‘he didn’t mean it, he’s harmless’. The nasty bully and perpetrator was clearly a local and well known to the bar and continued to constantly make comments about ‘going back to my own country’. My young children and family were there and I was in tears. The manager continued to do nothing and said he didn’t want any trouble. I will NEVER visit this place again. Shame on the management for being a coward and not asking the man to leave. I am reporting this incident to the police.

Fantastic scenery with a quaint view! If you are lucky you may see the local hero Dave! Leaves a nifty dump with a fruity aroma.

Booked a table for 6 , when arrived was pretty much told they didn't have room. Explained we reserved he then added some chairs to a table x two of the party went to use the toilet and were accused of drug dealing , even tho they are related! Sorted that out and then refused to serve us alcohol as said one of party couldn't walk. We had just walked from train station to pub do clearly he could. He then told us to go. Completely spoilt my 50 birthday- man was rude obnoxious and not prepared to listen , he had clearly messed up the booking and using any b/s to get rid. X do not go here as treatment of customers is disgraceful!!

We went there for a family birthday dinner. We had been out for a few drinks before but nothing serious! Been accused of dealing drugs and chucked out even after we explained that nothing happened and we just wanted some food! They didn’t listen and still chucked us out! Ridiculous! Avoid if you want to have a drink and have fun!

Visited here at the end of last summer, we found the owner and staff very helpful and although drink prices are slightly higher than pub chains, it's definitely worth it for the outside terrace and the views across the water and to watch the sunset. At a time when it's hard to get a holiday abroad, it's the closest place in Southend to ibiza we've found, with a great atmosphere and superb dj who managed to find the right songs for a chilled out afternoon in the sun. We can't wait to return this year when the weather's better.

What a great venue. Been travelling to Southend for over 10 years but had not come across this place until now. It’s off the main tourist strip so much less noisy and has more of a local friends and family feel. If the weather’s good there’s a lovely patio garden at the front with views over the sea. Just got back from a week long holiday and we found ourselves in here every day at some point. Mainly for a drink or two but also stopped for dinner one evening. We ordered a couple of large pizzas and chunky chips which were all home made and delicious! We had a great customer services experience on this trip in general but the staff here are worth mentioning as they could not have been more welcoming and friendly. One of Southend’s hidden gems - well worth a visit.

Absolutely disgusted with the irresponsible actions of the owners and management of this venue! We are in the middle of a Covid-19 Lockdown. Yet they see fit to flout the laws of this country and carry on regardless having an illegal gathering. No social distancing rules were applied on the Saturday afternoon 27/06/2020. AVOID this venue at all costs, because they have no care of duty or consideration for our town and community. They are more concerned in lining their pockets rather than stop the spread of this deadly virus that has caused so many deaths in this country! Over twenty people were seen at the venue drinking alcohol. The venue should not have been open. It's the 4th of July when pubs can reopen legally!To the owners! Have you know conscience or a heart? I honestly hope you loose your license! You should be ashamed of yourselves!

Rubbish gut rot beer . Rubbish processed food. And fake hospitality. Waste of money for Luke warm beer and disgusting attitude by the fake manager. Hence never been back.

Normally I like this place and I frequently visit this bar, but my girlfriend has just paid full price for two pints of fosters, but Where they didn’t have any glasses it was served in these coffee cups - barely half a pint

Went in today for a roast dinner and was not disappointed! Lovely relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, the dinner we had was hands down the best I’ve ever had! And the most reasonably priced! I had lamb my partner had beef and our daughter had chicken, everything was cooked from scratch and full of flavour. We will definitely become Sunday regulars! Amazing!!

I have only drunk there but food menu looks very good. No real ales on draft but bottles of doom bar available which were kindly put in freezer as it was a very warm day. Worth a visit if in Southend.

Approx 9:00 pm on a Wednesday evening - only 6 other customers - one of whom was a very drunk lady who gushingly greeted us and explained we had to wait for service whilst the duty member of staff went to the toilet! I had a rather expensive beer but my wife wanted only water - a request that was greeted with a sarcastic "Do you want to pay for it or must I provide it for free?" Our stay was short.

This is a great place on a warm day to have a drink and sit outside looking at the View. Service was brilliant with the bar staff doing everything to help with cooling drinks in freezer or supplying cold glasses. It was very warm when I attended. I will visit again

I've popped in here 3/4 times now with my dog on a walk and grabbed a coffee. The staff are always pleasant and extremely welcoming. The location is very quiet and peaceful, a great release from the high street on a busy weekend or early morning! Always a pleasure to visit, next time ill be sure to pop by for a Sunday roast.

We stopped in here one early evening on our way back to our hotel. There was no-one in, so our group of six including two children were quickly served with drinks and Rossi's ice cream by a friendly young lady at the bar. The location and comfort are great and we'd definitely go back for drinks and/or ice cream.

about 20 of us descended on them at about 2,30pm Monday. The waitress was absolutely charming and was completely unfazed by our invasion. The coffees were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. And tap water with ice and lemon in a cut glasses jug - lovely.

Good food, good fast and courteous service. The prawn salad special for the day was very good. Great view of Thames estuary.

I have been here a few times now and can’t fault the excellent service from the owner Dan. He makes it a priority to ensure his customers are happy and well taken care of.

My friends and I were in Southend this weekend for my hen do. It was beautiful weather, so we decided to pop into View Bar for a quick drink on our way back to our hotel. Whilst we were dressed in typical hen do attire, we weren’t loud or displaying behaviour anything other than tired and thirsty.

After an earlier drink, decided to revisit when I saw they were advertising a BBQ during the August Bank Holiday. What a surprise - instead of the normal burgers and sausages fare, my wife and I were offered Steaks or Chicken along with a choice of homemade sauces. All were cooked to order in front of us and the quality of the meat was superb. Very reasonably priced and very friendly service from the owner (Dan) through to the chef. Highly recommended.

This bar/cafe is on a lovely position overlooking the cliffs and river in Southend..

We are currently having a drink in this venue Great views. You get a real mixture of people here from families to older people and groups, some of the people are a little 'interesting' . It is lively with the football and loud music on, prices not bad but beware Coke is served from bottles rather than draught and ours was a little flat. They serve food but we didn't get around to sampling it.

What a cracking find above the beach in nearby central Southend!
