We stayed in Rustic 1, to be honest it was perfect no frills stay in the room. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, small kitchen area with fridge, kettle, microwave, toaster. The only thing I would add is milk was needed and some kind of shower gel toiletries would have been nice touch, Food in the Restaurant was nice, quickly served even with a large party in. Host were great, very friendly and offered their local knowledge. Nice stay Thankyou

We hired Cranberries as our wedding venue, for December 10th 2022. We originally booked for May 2020, but COVID happened so we were postponed. Steve was very helpful and accommodating moving our wedding date, and the 2020 prices were honoured for 2022, which was so kind and much appreciated. All our guests' bookings on site were also moved to the new date without issue. We were very lucky! To start with, we found the team a bit too laid back during the preparation, but after a proper chat we got the ball rolling, and all questions were answered in a timely manner. During the catering decisions, Heidi was super helpful and they were so careful and considerate of allergies. We have nut allergies, a celiac, all were looked after beautifully. The venue was a mixture of good and bad. We had the COLDEST weather, which didn't help, and they struggled to heat the room. Sadly this meant a lot of our guests were very cold, and we ended up saying goodbye to the older ones a lot sooner than we and they would like. Guests missed out because of the freezing conditions, and sadly Cranberries wasn't equipped for it. Our guests were wrapped up in their coats in the room, because the heating just wasn't able to cope. We did book a winter wedding, and we certainly got one! Not their fault, it's the weather, however... It would have been good to be able to offer our guests hot drinks to warm them up. We appreciate heating a huge urn takes time, but a kitchen has saucepans does it not?? Could have heated water on the hob in a large saucepan? Just felt even boiling a kettle would have done. Money is tight for all, yes, but I think extreme weather qualifies for unconventional hot drinks. We just really needed them, and despite asking the staff repeatedly, we were told it wasn't possible. I think if they have any other parties, just heat water in advance. It was needed. They weren't intuitive on that front... The food was delicious though. We had a Christmas dinner which was alright, I couldn't eat much because I was a bundle of nerves, but the pudding was so good! I managed to eat lots of that! Guests have told me the food was scrumptious, so that's a positive. We did feel that the staff were a bit disorganised and we really needed someone to step up and help us. There was nobody on reception for our guests staying on site, and during our reception nobody really stepped up to organise us. We needed someone to shout over the crowd for us, and to announce the timings of things. Thankfully our photographer was amazing and organised us for photos, and even spoke to staff on our behalf. I wasn't relaxed until we'd finished the order of the day, because we just didn't know who to turn to. Staff were around, but they didn't approach us. When we approached them they were helpful and friendly, but we needed some extra support. We were complete novices, and a venue experienced with weddings should have been able to manage the timings more effectively. We needed someone to be a shepherd of sorts! If you get married here, make sure you've got a master of ceremonies and a tighter plan than us. Now...Wedding was wonderful, accommodation needed a lot of work. Guest feedback was worrying. The rooms were not properly heated ahead of time, and the heating was not sufficient. Extra electric radiators were provided, but only when asked for, and only when staff could be found. Steve did say after the wedding that they're currently refurbishing, so this will hopefully improve. Having said that, the beds were super comfortable and the showers were nice and toasty, so that's good. I was told that guests didn't have provisions for hot drinks! No tea bags or coffee provided in their rooms, and that's normally a standard welcome package with self catering accommodation. You at least have tea bags, little milk pots and coffee sachets and sugar things... This was missing from a lot of rooms. When asked for, they did provide, but it needed to be stocked beforehand. Rooms are clean and well appointed, but my goodness were they COLD! Weather was cold, yes, but their heating couldn't cope sadly. Overall, I wish we could have given more stars because they did such lovely food, and the room is a great size, staff friendly and helpful when approached. It's just that things were a little shabby, and the heating wasn't sufficient, and staff did not approach us or make themselves readily available at reception. Cranberries needs a wedding staff reshuffle. Just needed extra hands on deck! Many thanks for having us, our day was so special.

I can’t rate this enough, myself and my mum had a spa day sauna afternoon tea and proseco and then. 25 min treatment Abbie who works at the spa is wonderful, from her communications, and the way she looks after you, she is a ver carding person that’s goes that bit further. They are lucky to have such a great member of staff The whole day was fantastic, I would really recommend this.

We stayed here spontaneously on 7th May 2021. We found this little beauty on Brit Stops as we were touring the South West in our motorhome. We called up an hour before we arrived to see if they had space for two large motorhomes and they did. We are so glad they did. Their hospitality was great, they were helpful and really lovely. They popped us on a spot with beautiful views. We also had dinner here and the food was gorgeous! We had to sit outside due to the Covid Restrictions, it was really cold but they provided blankets to keep us warm. This was also a luxury retreat with a Spa and from what we saw of it, it looked superb! I wouldn't mind going back for a romantic stay if we're ever back this way. Thanks again for such a warm and welcoming stay. 🙏

NOT GOOD, arrived on the 17th august and still here , when we booked the hotel, at the time we reserved a table in the restaurant, arrived to be told the restaurant is closed and bar ! , nothing else available locally other than Indian !, we had the dairy cottage booked for a party of four, on the website it’s advertised as having a patio , well it did but with a small table and one chair for four people, full of weeds and nettles and cigarette butts. Two bedrooms , one on a mezzanine floor with stairs as steep as a ladder not good for seniors or anyone with restrictions especially as there was no advance warning . One bed was broken and squeaked liked mad so had to sleep on the floor. Reception staff young and unhelpful with no Customer service. Noisy neighbours until 3am . No local taxis available and seemed to all finish at 5pm possibly because of Covid or the need to tend to there farms. Generally people do not to be happy here along with the staff, overall the website doesn’t paint a true picture. Hanging baskets are all dead, more flies in the room than outside. One towel in the cottage for the four of us. God I could go on but want to try and enjoy the rest of the stay . Ps the WiFi is poo

I took my girls to have a spa treat, we had a choice of options and the price included 3 sessions each and a cream tea and Presseco (the presseco never arrived!) but the massages were well worth the visit, we had a rainy day and it was cold so we couldn't take advantage of the outside hot tub, but on a warm day should be good to try.

My daughter spend a large amount of money treating us both to Cranberries Spa day. Whilst the treatments were great, it was a shame that we spent a substantial amount of time apart as there was only one member of staff to do the treatments, so each of us spent a lot of time alone. The lunch provided was uninspiring and overcooked. It fell short of what we both expected. Fizz was included in the price, but none was available. Not good when my daughter paid so much of her hard earned money. The hot tub is situated down a gravel path and was somewhat 'makeshift' arrangement. A singular plus point~ The full body massage was fantastic.

Not actually about Cranberries the Hideaway but the owner provides a Hog Roast catering service which he provided for my birthday bash at a local village hall. Hog was roasted superbly, salads and vegetarian options were excellent. They provide everything and it took all the worry out of the catering. We were late going to eat which didn't phase them one bit. Thanks Steve and his crew.

The restaurant has not been built yet. The room we were shown into was huge, there were 4 of us, and no one else in the room! Our front of house wore jeans and a check shirt. The starter was OK, the melon in the Fanned Melon was hard though. The main course arrived. The whole meal had very obviously been reheated from some time ago, probably Sunday (our visit took place on the Tuesday). The roast potatoes were soft and grey, the cauliflower yellowing and soggy, the sprouts were old. The whole meal appeared to have been reheated in an oven, it was not very hot. The salmon was minuscule and looked very much as if it was one slice of a twin pack from a supermarket. If Cranberries want to make their mark as a top restaurant I suggest they start trying to impress their local clientele or there will be no return business.
