Staff were utterly charming and helpful even though they were incredibly busy - almost running to get it all done. The food was great. We were there for ages and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The disabled toilet was good. Better signs for the lift would be helpful

Brilliant service with great insight and fab stock (from all I could tell). Anna (who served me) could not have been better in terms of knowing her stuff and spending loads of time giving me loads of options (it was end of the day so the shop wasn’t busy - and as an independent they’re not gonna have loads of staff if it’s busy - but I’ve recently visited Cotswolds in central Edinburgh and they seemed pretty light staffed for such a central location anyway). Am not local - but when next I’m needing to invest in good kit then I’ll definitely be back to get the in person service from these guys n gals.

I went in to the shop in March, after discovering that Decathlon had removed their skiing section (before the end of the season!) There was still a decent selection of kids’ ski gear in the shop and Jon helped my son choose a helmet and goggles, socks, thermals and gloves. However, as my son was only 3, there wasn’t much in his size in terms of ski trousers/jackets or all in ones. Jon really kindly offered me a pair of his own child’s salopettes that had never been worn and were outgrown. He wouldn’t accept anything in return for them. I was blown away by his kindness. Thank you so much. It is always such a pleasure to come across a business that is run by a genuinely lovely human. We will be back for more ski gear as my kids grow!

Used to love this place! But ever since it has been re-done it has become awful. Firstly, we came for lunch at around 3pm to then be told they stopped serving at 3:30 even though the cafe didn’t close until 5pm?? Then when we got our food, the smoked salmon and cream cheese panini I ordered was just a tiny piece of cooked hot smoked salmon (not what I thought it would be) and butter in a panini- no cream cheese! And the fish and chips my boyfriend got was not worth the money. The fish wasn’t flakey and the outer batter was soggy and flat with minimal flavour. What has happened here! Cobbs used to be amazing! Very disappointed and won’t be back.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Craigdon, in Edinburgh, that I feel compelled to share. Despite my excitement to hit the slopes, the staff's attitude and lack of service completely soured my visit. Firstly, the ski technician outright refused to fit bindings for my skis, citing reasons that seemed arbitrary and unfounded. Their dismissive attitude made me feel unwelcome and undervalued as a customer. Instead of offering assistance or finding a solution, they seemed more interested in finding problems and shutting down any attempt to resolve them. Furthermore, the technician's patronizing demeanor only exacerbated the situation. Instead of addressing my concerns with professionalism and respect, they spoke down to me, making me feel incompetent and uninformed about my own equipment. To add insult to injury, when I sought assistance from other nearby ski shops, I was met with a stark contrast in service. Two alternative shops were more than happy to accommodate my needs and we're able to fit the bindings! The lack of willingness to help, coupled with condescending behavior, left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. I would strongly advise others to seek out alternative options for their skiing needs.

We waited nearly 10 minutes for a waitress to notice us and to show us to a table. Then I waited a further 10 minutes in a queue to order our coffees and food. The scone I had ordered was delivered quite quickly to our table. But we had a further 18 minute wait for two coffees to appear, and a few minutes more for bacon roll. Th new cafe arrangement felt large and noisy and had a canteen feel about it. After so much waiting, we were more than ready to leave by the time we were finally served our coffees. I would not return.

Well this place may well be wonderful - when it re-opens! Travelled a reasonable distance a few weeks back, only to discover the cafe open, but the "shop" not much better than a stall at a jumble sale! This used to be a great friendly little cafe, but the front of house service has definitely deteriorated. We visited fairly early (10am) on a Sunday morning and were directed to a table in the middle of the busiest part of the floor. We asked if we could get a quieter table but were basically told "take it or leave it" despite less than 50% of the tables being occupied. The server at the cash desk was also quite brusque and although the food arrived fairly quickly and was nice enough no one came to ask how it was. If the cafe is now doing so well that it doesn't need to bother about customer service then as it's an independent then I'm glad to hear it, but someone needs to remind the staff that without good service that could easily change.

I do not often give poor reviews but this is definitely aimed at an unimpressive front of house member. Pitched up yesterday with wife and 4 legged friend for a late breakfast. Was asked by said member of staff where I'd like to sit and I suggested a 4 seat table out of the way because of the dog. I was then directed to another table (2 seater) in case "it got busy later". This was tuesday at 1000 on a very wet and windy day. During the whole meal I was of opinion that we were punters rather than people to be engaged. As an aside the member of staff had long acrylic nails which I thought were contrary to food and hygiene regulations and I would have thought represented a safety risk in being able to serve food safely (she did in fact drop food off the side of the plate when serving my wife) I thoroughly enjoyed my full breakfast and Mrs M enjoyed her eggs and smoked salmon. I think some staff training around the relationship between staff and customer needs addressing as well as the long nail issue. The response to this review will determine if I return to Craigdon, which I have given rave reviews in the past.

He then asked me loudly as I approached the till to pay for the socks where had the other pair of socks gone that I'd initially picked up but decided against because they were even more expensive. Then had to explain my husband had put them back for me, made me feel a bit like a suspect. The staff in the rest of the store (outwith the ski department) are very helpful. The ski department I hate with a passion. Over a period of four years, I have been mis-sold to (more than once). I have been told information which was utterly wrong. Most recently, i was talked at and could hardly get a word in. I try to avoid going to the ski area if I can. Going here made it really easy. Not only that, but I returned a pair after I realised they weren't exactly what i needed, and realised 3 weeks later that I hadn't taken my orthotics out. I didn't have the receipt and couldn't remember the brand name but the staff stuck with me on the phone trying to find the shoes from their records. Eventually we were able to find the shoe they thought it was. They didn't find the orthotics but took my details in case they turn up later. They went above and beyond and if I wasn't convinced before, I will definitely be buying all my outdoor gear from them in the future.

The Little Bakery in Queensferry is a true treasure! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the delightful aroma of freshly baked goods. The quality of the pastries, bread, and cakes is exceptional – everything is made with care and attention to detail. Their sausage rolls and pies are some of the best I’ve ever had, and the sweet treats like the scones and traybakes are irresistible. The staff are warm, welcoming, and always ready with a smile, making the experience even more enjoyable. Was in earlier today, immediate impression was a bad one. For a start the (only) staff member there was indifferent and unfriendly. As a result I felt very uncomfortable and it was apparent this individual just didn't want to be there, or just didn't appreciate their customers. The place itself is a bit shabby and badly needs a makeover. Given that there's plenty of other cafes nearby, I would recommend people go elsewhere.
