Craftworks Padstow in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

This was a perfect find. The menu is right up our alley - simple food done really well. Fish tacos were a treat, so good I had to drag the family back for a second round. I love places like this that focus on quality of food and service with no poncing around. Little comfort touches like blankets being provided for cooler nights (this is alfresco dining, some cover provided by tipis). If you’re in Padstow or even just within half an hour drive I’d recommend it. Great for kids - lovely setting. Try the tacos!

We are staying locally and took the boys this evening. The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was out of this world. We had tacos and burgers which were genuinely outstanding. 100% recommend.

Me and my partner, later joined by my parents went into craftworks this evening for initially just a drink and then stayed for some delicious chocolate brownies! The atmosphere is absolutely lovely and the pricing was so good for Padstow. The young blonde waitress in the striped top (sorry I didn’t catch her name) was an absolute asset to the Business, she was incredible with the young children on the tables around us and very aware of her surroundings and making sure tables got their drinks in good time etc. she said it was only her second shift, but you certainly wouldn’t have known it. We will absolutely be back again!

Came up for a meal last week & it was awesome! Food was lush,me & my otger half shared tacos,a burger & squid salad & everything was beautiful....my daughter had a burger & butter chicken & she polished everything off (doesn't always happen!) Dan looked after us so well,we had a really lovely evening sat in the tipi.....we'll definitely be back 😊

The food is delicious and very fresh. My favourite is the Ain’t no lone star burger. That’s a proper sloppy burger the way it should be. Monster of a burger with fresh ingredients. Wash it down with a harbour brewery pale ale. My wife enjoys the katsu chicken burger and a bramble cocktail. The children love the food too. Don’t forget the dirty swine fries to share!!! Great atmosphere. Book in advanced as they do get busy.

Like a few other reviews, we'd been to the the old location and loved it, so we were really looking forward to visiting the new one, however it was very disappointing. There were 8 of us so we had a mix of burgers, chicken burgers, tacos and burritos, everyone said that the food looked great but was very bland and not tasty at all, especially the burritos which seemed to have no spice or seasoning in them whatsoever. Even worse was the service, it was pretty much non existent and when we asked where most our our drinks were after waiting 20 minutes (we had 1 pint brought to the table and then nothing else) the staff were basically rude. Also the fairy lights in our section went off towards the end of our meal, no one came over to take a look or explain what had happened so we spent the last 15 minutes of our meal eating in darkness! Really disappointing as this used to be great, so not sure if it maybe has new owners at the new site, but wouldn't recommend and wouldn't return. It seems that they're more bothered with how the food looks on instagram rather than how it tastes.

Popped in here for dinner on a Saturday night, managed to book just hours before our slot. The service was quite slow but the food was so worth it, I ordered the burrito and my partner ordered a beef and bacon with a side of loaded fries. The cocktails were also so gorgeous and were able to take some away to our campsite which was even better! Definitely recommend this to anyone, is definitely worth a trip and very reasonably priced especially considering the location!

We visited after the beach at Trevone so didn’t want anywhere fancy, this place was stunning and the food was 11/10! When we arrived we were the only people but most tables were booked. Under the tipi is gorgeous with fairy lights and heaters for the colder evenings. We both had burgers and pulled pork loaded fries and everything was so full of flavour. We wish we were staying longer so could visit again!

We as a family stayed on site and was pleased to have this eatery. Place was always busy- which speaks volumes. Food on both occasions we ate there was delicious. Probably could have done with some extra staff being high summer, but all the staff who served us were young, friendly and polite.

Best burgers! We were a party of 11 so not the easiest to accommodate especially on the day (I’m not the most organised!) The staff were fantastic and couldn’t have done more for us. Delicious burgers and amazing cocktails! Thank you all, a fantastic ending to another amazing week in Cornwall.

For a low key evening out a burger and fries option is always a risk, the gourmet burger has to some extent had its moment but there’s still a market for this style and if your going to do it, it has to be done well. Craft Works have nailed it, absolutely great tasting beef, and a good variation on the theme. Also nice to see staff who are on it, making sure you’re ok for drinks, The cocktails are great. Location and the Tipi set up is perfect, gas heaters make for a warm cosy atmosphere. These guys have nailed it and one hopes they can keep some sort of Padstow location going.

What an awful experience had tonight at Craftworks. We arrived half an hour early as it’s advertised as ‘ Street Food & Bar ’. We thought it would be nice to have a couple of drinks before our food. As far as we experienced, the bar was purely for those dining. There’s just not enough staff to cater for those there for a drink. On arriving and after queuing and being ignored by three members of staff who were seemingly too busy to acknowledge us even though we were stood right at the bar and they were the other side, we were eventually asked to sit as it’s table service. The wait for a drink brought us to just before our table time. Clearly understaffed and quite frankly rude staff. - You can see this for yourself if you look at the trip advisor reviews which are negative, the responses that craftworks give in reply are awful! Is a teenager writing them? All in all, this eatery just completely lets the park down, there are lots of places to eat in padstow, we definitely will not be returning here. Craftworks - please no rudeness or sarcasm in your reply like you have subjected others to. I’m very aware it’s peak season etc. and yes I will have a nice rest of my holiday 👍🏻

Felt like we were doing some weird "I'm a celeb" challenge. The cocktails were diabolical. Jalapeno margarita tasted like soap, tin, petrol, and boiled chilli's. The Knightor Negroni tasted like cardboard, sweat, and regurgitated orange. Please for the love of god can every bar and their dog stop trying to make cocktails, this was by far the worst attempt since records began.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! This is an absolute go to restaurant.. beautiful setting, excellent service and the food…WOW! Fresh, tasty, unique and delicious. We stayed at the holiday village and were recommended to go by friends that had visited before, so glad we did. Haven’t tasted good like that for a very long time..A definite visit if you’re staying on the site or in the area!

This was my fourth visit to Craftworks over the last three years and is a must visit. The food has been consistently of an excellent standard. The staff are very accommodating and polite and the location is easy to get to even by foot from Dennis Cove. One of the best places to eat!!

A regular to North Cornwall, this was our first time at Craftworks Secret Garden. The burgers were unreal. Milkshakes are great and they Sharp's Offshore on draft. So good we went twice in a week. Very chilled vibe, which does mean that service (in actually taking the order) is a little slow (on one occasion we needed to give the sever a pen). But really this is a little price to pay for great burgers in a lovely setting. Why would you want to rush anyway. Very reasonably priced for North Cornwall standards too. Loved it and would go again. Based on the space and the quality it is no surprise it gets busy. The tables are large, so pack a card game or two and sit back an enjoy.

After 30 mins went the bar to ask to order drinks and we were told it was table service only. Someone came after about 10 mins and we ordered food at the same time. Over an hour later we were told there was a backlog of orders and there was no chicken left. Changed two meals and waited again, dirty fries were cold on arrival and returned and one of the burger raw in the middle, the replacement arrived after everyone else had finished eating. Although apologetic we were still expected to pay in full and asked for the raw burger to be removed from the bill. Having eaten here regularly for 3 years it was a very disappointing experience this time and we wouldn't rush back. Sorry guys, I hope it was just a one off but not a good evening at all.
