Lovely west end location, with a relaxed, friendly ambience. Staff were fantastic. Delicious food - everything was amazing, crab cakes, oysters, fish, scallops (the butter sauce was so good!), calamari and the best octopus ever!! Highly recommend!!

Thursday late lunch. We were on Byres Road up in the West End of Glasgow mid afternoon and we're feeling "in need of refreshment". Decided to lunch impromptu at Crabshakk Botanics We started with free still and sparkling tap water. Boquerones and deep fried whitebait to share. What's not to like. Good contrasting flavours. I then had the shellfish chowder. Excellent. Good depth of flavour. Some smoked mussels. Fishy. Good selection of finely chopped veg. Excellent. Good bread too. Partner opted for the vegetable soup of the day. Tomato soup with a small slick of chile oil. Very good. Same bread. I then had the charred octopus with a romesco sauce, seeds, and small sautéed potatoes off of the specials. I love octopus. It was delightfully tender. Melt in the mouth. Excellent. My partner had the Roast Garlic Panisse with caponata with a red pepper and roast pine nut emulsion. Very good. Very good. Cheers...

Found Crabshackk when searching seafood restaurants on our drive up to Glasgow to see Liam Gallagher. Can safely say we were not disappointed! Initially tried to book the smaller restaurant and it was full but managed to secure a late afternoon table at Botanics instead. The guy serving us was super friendly and attentive and the food was awesome. It’s a five hour drive for us from Sheffield so might not be back in the near future but will def pay a visit when next in Glasgow. Cool vibe, great food and service. We ate: Oysters off the specials menu White bait Asian style squid Breaded monkfish Lemon sole Choc delice with raspberry sorbet. Delighted with our choices - thanks Crabshackk!

The atmosphere and decor is gorgeous! Lots of healthy lovely leafy plants. Scallops and anchovy butter were divine as was the crab cakes. Service is haphazard, servers were too busy having a giggle amongst themselves than to serve us.The wee shakk in finnieston is just more friendlier and down to earth.

We visited Crabshakk Botanics with a friend who recommended we visit, partly because she was taken with the number of plants decorating the restaurant. Unfortunately, she was disappointed because there were less plants than she remembered but that maybe more of a comment on the age and failing memory of our friends than the restaurant’s decor. However, it did seem more austere than the photos on the web site. Perhaps the vegetation returns in the summer. Nonetheless, we were warmly welcomed and were served drinks rapidly. The menu seemed to contain a number of options that I enjoy so I started with the whitebait, whilst my wife had the scallops and our friend chose the chowder. She spent some time discussing the size of the portion with our server who was very helpful and offered to bring a smaller serving. This turned out to be worthwhile as the quantity was exactly what she would have chosen and she thought the chowder was excellent. Likewise Linda enjoyed the scallops that were well cooked and very tender. I was a bit unsure about my whitebait which came with a heavy coating of breadcrumbs which really overpowered the flavour and the texture of the whitebait. Since two of us were driving we had a Prosecco to start but then I was the only one drinking wine. Our main courses were fish and chips which again seemed plentiful and I assume tasty since nothing was left, Linda had the monk fish and I had the dressed crab. The monkfish arrived heavily breaded similar to the whitebait and my wife would have preferred it without the coating. My dressed crab was very pleasant but seemed a little expensive for what it was. I had a dessert which was a special, of lemon sponge which wasn’t particularly memorable, then we finished of with coffee In conclusion a pleasant enough lunch and the service was good but at over £200 for three of us, it seemed a bit pricey.

Wanted to try Crabshakk for so long…no availability at Finnieston so decided to go to Botanics. Pros Good buzzing atmosphere. Good menu selection Cons Service was absolutely terrible. For what you are paying, you would think the service would be more attentive. The waiter looked as though he couldn’t be bothered serving us. Never checked if we were ok or if we were enjoying your food. Served dirty plates. When we left, not even a goodbye or thank you. The food wasn’t amazing, would have came back but service was just terrible, I wouldn’t bother. Staff were more pretentious than the customers.

LOVE the new restaurant! It really has kept the same vibe as Finnieston even though it’s very different. The food wasn’t amazing. It was absolutely fine but they have set their own very high standards. The dressed crab was mostly brown meat with just a sprinkling of white on top, which was a bit disappointing. The squid and crab cakes were reliably good but not the best I’ve had in crabshakk. Of course I will be back. It’s a firm favourite and everywhere has a sub-par day once in a while.

Very on trend and busy: but service was spot on. The nearer you are seated towards the front door, the colder it becomes...to the extent of being draughty and chilly. Fish and chips should be a reliable signature, but let down by very heavy, oily batter. Got the sense and taste of tired oil in the fryer. Salad side dish a bit of a laugh, a mile off being 'Caesar style' as advertised. Missing croutons and anchovy! Would we go again? Not in a rush: it felt poor value.

Crabshakk is a wonderful restaurant. While so many restaurants in Glasgow disappoint post covid, Crabshakk never fails to deliver brilliant, inventive food, friendly service and a lively ambience. It’s wonderful to watch the kitchen team create fresh food in contrast to the quiet kitchens used to heat up mass produced ready meals so common elsewhere. Please never change, Crabshakk. We love you.

We love this restaurant, the food is utterly yummy and the staff are friendly, cheerful and helpful. I have to give a special shout out to the scallops, the squid and the chowder which never disappoint and the desserts are always fabulous. Even the bread and butter is delicious. True, the music could do with being turned down a notch or two but the atmosphere is buzzing. Please, please, please open a restaurant in Edinburgh as it’s a long trek through to Glasgow, not to mention how much a return fare Waverley to Queen Street and subway fare Buchanan Street to Hillhead adds to the cost of the night out. Not only would a restaurant in Edinburgh do really, really well but I’d be able to afford the lobster more often!

I've been to Crabshakk Botanics three times now and it's by far my favourite restaurant in Glasgow. Food is absolutely unbelievable - I genuinely dream about their seared scallops in anchovy and caper butter! I returned with my mum and boyfriend to celebrate my 25th Birthday recently and we all loved our meal. Staff were so friendly and attentive, wine (Picpoul de Pinet) was lovely and food fantastic as always. For starters we shared the seared scallops, the tempura squid with soy and coriander dip and a special sea trout ceviche. For the main course two of us had the spaghetti vongole and my boyfriend had the large fish supper - all the dishes were incredibly tasty, fresh, and absolutely faultless. To top off this wonderful visit, I was delighted to find a birthday card from Crabshakk when we arrived at our table!

Scallops - make sure u order large as they are just too good, amazing food overall, portion size was very good too, tempura squid would serve two people, first visit to the Botanics but been at the original Crabshakk. Botanics was spacious and great service. Only thing I asked for no salads as I don’t like it with dressing and it was still on my order, removed it to a side plate and it didn’t spoil my meal in anyway

We ate here for the first time . We were always meaning to try the one in Finnieston ...we eat out alot but have our favourites and have tended to stick with them . Tonight we thought we will try something new . Great first impression .We could only get a window seat but there was no problem with that . We ordered our drinks and main courses .The food was ok .The service was reasonable .We had to wait a long time for a drink but when we reminded them they came back with one straight away . When the main course was finished we were asked if we wanted anything else ...we said no .At this point we were half way through our drinks...we were considering having another . The waitress came before we were finished our drinks put our bill on the table and said you have 15 minutes to finish your drinks .We will not be back and would not recommend. This is the second ever bad review I have put on TripAdvisor and I am 54 years of age .

There is no one to greet you at the door to ask for a table for food so we had to go to the bar, which was quite busy and the bar tender had to prioritise the drinks over our table request, which meant a 15 minute or so wait just to be seated. However, after we got a table everything was great after that. Very tasty food, good prices and some nice cocktails and our server was attentive. The theme is very cool too and the decor is interesting.
