We usually love coming here for breakfast - I ordered poached egg on toast, unfortunately when this came out my eggs were hard boiled - the waitress came and said she would get me some more eggs cooked. This took almost 20 minutes by which time my toast had gone cold. My mum ordered a simple bacon sandwich which came on stale bread and was so burnt she could hardly eat it. Finally got my eggs and they weren't much better! Such a shame as they used to do a lovely breakfast.

My dad And I went today for afternoon tea. It was excellent. So much tea and some lovely sandwiches and cakes. One of us was a vegetarian too and the alternatives were excellent. Would definitely recommend.

We went there yesterday and we was very disappointed, especially as they advertise Gluten Free but because it was only 11am the only things they would offer was a GF Victoria Sponge or a GF Brownie. When asked if we could have a toasted Cheese GF Sandwich, the waitress came back and said unfortunately they could not accommodate us because it was on the lunchtime menu, we explained it was only 1/2 hr away from 12, and also the fact that my friend was gluten intolerant and really did not want to eat cake, the waitress went to see the Chef again but she came back and said she was sorry he wouldn’t change his mind. So my friend sat and watched us eat and waited until 12 noon when she ordered her Sandwich. At no time did the chef come out and explain why he could not do this. It is not like my friend was being picky or awkward it is because she has an illness that will make her quite poorly if she eats gluten. If we had been advised why he could not do this other than being the wrong time we would have understood. If you had said sorry we only do chips on the lunch menu she would have said she would have it without the chips. I understand you are an award winning cafe but I do feel on this occasion you lacked empathy and you was totally inflexible

We were a party of 10 including 4 kids of 8 & under. We wanted a range of food from full breakfast to some kids just sharing a cake. The cafe was busy but we weren't made to feel difficult. The waitress kindly made sure we got some drinks whilst waiting for our food. We weren't rushed & were able to stay as long as we wanted which was good as we were catching up after many months. Oh & the food was tasty!

We had afternoon tea here for my friends baby shower. Such a wonderful place, the food was fabulous ! Very accommodating of dietary requirements, and a lovely selection. We were a large group and the service was friendly and efficient. I booked a couple of months ahead and had really good communication via email with the cafe team in particular Jess. Very reasonably priced, will definitely be returning!!

Great food, especially for a cafe! Lovely range of options and the food presentation is beautiful. Only reason for no full 5 stars was the service on the day was a let down. I'm sure there is reasons why, so will defo try again to see if that improves my experience for a full 5 stars:)

Sadly this was one of the worst brewkfast experiences I have encountered. The food really was not nice at all! No idea what they did with the scrambled egg, but my god it was disgusting. The service is pleasant however requires searching for a member of the team. Normally located near the coffee machine chatting. Would not come for food again.

My son ordered a full English, his partner had scrambled egg on toast.Very small size breakfast for the price,he said eggs were to done, the bacon looked like it had been sitting there or microwaved.(My son didn't even eat it all which is very unlike him)His partners scrambled egg looked plastic, she ate it all as she had travelled down from Basingstoke this morning and was hungry, but she said she's had better. We were asked if we wanted tap water with the breakfast and we said yes please, but it never arrived. So 2 tea's, 1 very small full English ,small orange juice and scrambled egg on toast was over £30. Totally not worth the money. Will stick with Alls cafe on meredith Road in ipswich, as bigger meals and half the price.

Lovely café, but despite asking several times on previous visits, telephoning and emailing they still only have white gluten free bread. I thought the days of people only eating white bread were long past, especially in a farm shop setting! If you are gluten intolerant and don't like tasteless white bread I suggest Roots & Shoots garden centre, Narey's garden centre, or Laurel Farm, all of which do brown bread.

Went here today with a friend and initially it was just us and another couple on one table. Service was slow, two waitresses sat looking at phones. I had to ask for a coffee then had to ask for brunch choice. My brunch was missing one egg, I asked for brown sauce and had to remind the waitress as she forgot. It still wasn't busy! My single egg was under cooked. My second coffee never arrived and I had to ask for that Very disappointed ☹️

My husband and I took his mother out for a light lunch today and although busy the cafe showed us to a table and took our order for 3 hot drinks and food ( 3 sandwiches). Our drinks arrived promptly but the food did not! Other tables continued to fill up while we waited and after 30 mins, when the table who came in 10 mins after us were presented with their hot food, I enquired when ours would be ready. After checking we were told our ticket was the next one and asked if we wanted a complimentary drink which my mother in law agreed to. 10 mins later my mother in law began to get agitated, she has dementia, after a takeaway order was taken through to a customer waiting in the courtyard, and she asked again about our order. After 50 mins wait we were finally given our order and then told the order was free of charge due to unacceptable wait which should not have happened. Though the food was really lovely, as always, and the compensation greatfully received, the wait turned what should have been a lovely lunch in a wonderful setting, into a stressful one due to the unacceptable wait.

It's getting expensive!! We live locally and regularly go to the farm shop which has some of the best fresh food, particularly the meat. The cafe serves delicious and filling bacon sandwiches but at £6 each it's stretching the budget. I know ingredients are expensive but I want to be able to afford to keep coming!!

The cafe is situated in a beautiful old barn. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We've breakfasted there a few times now. The selection for vegetarians and indeed non-veggies is really appetising. The wait time for the food to be served is absolutely acceptable and is certainly worth the short wait. The coffees are amazing. This is not a cheap place to dine but we have never felt that we paid over the reasonable odds. We look forward to our visits to this special cafe.

My husband and I were having a short break in Suffolk. A lady we met in an another cafe recommended the ice cream from Alder Carr Farm so we visited to try it. We decided to have lunch in the cafe which was delicious. Of course we tried the ice-cream and it was absolutely delicious! My husband and I always share puddings ( one pudding, two spoons) and we tried the damson, ginger and rhubarb and vanilla ice-creams. OMG! Fabulous. They’re all delicious but my favourite was damson. The servers were very helpful - particularly Thanida, who was lovely. A really excellent lunch!

Reserved a table for 11 of us, due to previous issues when coming to pay the bill we decided that each of us would pay on ordering, this totally confused some staff as they were unsure how to do this for our table. We all ordered but some waited excessive time and we had to keep reminding them we were still waiting, it was very disorganised to say the least.one staff members attitude was not good, she brought my colleagues scone, jam and cream then snatched the cream off the plate when my colleague said she wasn’t sure she ordered it. The staff member then said well if you’ve not paid for it you can’t have it, not been awful but with the cost of living. The cream was 50p extra and the amount of time we waited then at least they could have let that go! There was no cooked food just cakes and scones and hot drinks so no reason for a delay! Very very disappointed at the service and especially the staff members attitude, very unlikely to recommend and groups bigger than 4 to be honest!

I had the creamy mushrooms on sourdough bread with a hen's egg. My husband had chicken tikka on flatbread with beetroot salad and a side order of sweet potato fries. Both choices were delicious, generous and piping hot. They tasted like homemade.

After appearing first in a search for dog friendly cafe, we were told we couldn't bring the dogs in, so put them in the car. Sat waiting for someone to take an order, only to be told the kitchen was closed for 1/2 an hour, I thought this was the twenty first century

Cute barn, Lovely staff, terrible coffee, dirty cups & saucers and annoying doorbell which went off all the time. I ordered poached eggs on sourdough and received plain white bread ( not a massive deal) and eggs were cooked to perfection. Overall nice experience but could do with some improvements.

Had another delicious lunch at AlderCarr cafe today. I had the most delicious double G & T [6.95] with Fevertree tonic [1.40] and my partner enjoyed his Pinot Noir 250ml [6.25]. My whitebait was a very generous size and perfectly cooked [7.00] with a side order of superb rosemary fries [3.00]. My partner chose Pigeon Breast with black pudding, hash browns, apple sauce and a blackberry juis which he declared one of the best pigeon dishes he'd ever eaten [13.50]. I finished with a scoop of Vanilla, and one of blackcurrant, homemade ice creams [4.00] and my partner had the Chocolate cheesecake [6.00]. The desserts were beautifully served on a black platter which was a perfect choice for the desserts. We both finished with 2 flat whites [6.40]. Total bill was £53.50 + tip, which was excellent value for a first class lunch. BOOKING IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED AS IT IS A VERY BUSY AND POPULAR PLACE TO EAT.

Average food. The bacon, Brie and cranberry panini needed more than 2 slices of Brie as was dry. The coleslaw was not homemade as stated on their menu. The kids meal came with hand cooked sharp crisps when ideally should have been puffs or a safer type of crisp. Would not pay £34 again for the food we got. Very disappointing. Very much squashed in like sardines too.
