Court of Requests in Sandwell

The court of request is one of the better looking weatherspoons in the area.. but for me I think it's one of the worse for the beer. For a quick one at a good price yeah but I don't think I could sit in there and have a proper drink

Dane is an amazing cleaner . Toilets are always clean . Well done .. lovely and kind person .

End off a era no more mixed grill or steak. No more steak Tuesday did away with Sunday lunch what's going next fish?? We like proper food. Left. With burgers pizza and chicken think off your bmi. staff are great will still drink but maybe not eat.

Can't go wrong with weatherspoons always get moneys worth

Indoor & outdoor seating, with booths, high & low tables. Cosy atmosphere with fireplaces and library. Staff are very helpful and drinks in particular come quickly. Excellent drinks menu. However early afternoon today there were no burgers available AT ALL, and the fudge cake tasted like it had just been defrosted. There were also quite a few flies in the booths.

This is my second visit to The Court of Requests in Oldbury. The service is excellent - never fails to disappoint. A special shout out to Jay who will go above and beyond to help anyone. Such a happy face - always smiling - very polite. If you need anything- be sure to ask for Jay. The toilet facilities are maintained by Dane which always smell nice and are very clean. Will definitely be visiting again. Highly recommended 👌

Absolutely disgraceful they have shut the car park and make disabled people walk. They deserve no custom!

The worst weathspoons I have been to for years took over one hour for the breakfasts to arrive. And when they did arrive eggs was cold and runny bacon was cold and over cooked the only thing that was ok was the coffee and tea

Used to go when it was library.As a pub I've only been once. At the time it was quiet and did not have any atmospere. However, never judge a book by its cover. The next time when I am in Oldbury, I will pop in and see if it's any better.

Clean and tidy spoons in an interesting old building. Car parking is available which is rare for spoons.

Never been a weatherspoons fan but the courts of request has now become our local just really good food friendly staff clean and welcoming

The food was nice but could of been nicer if it had been hotter. It was served warm, so it went cold really quickly. Service was quick and friendly, the ambience is always nice the sun was out so it was lovely and warm sitting next to a window.

I’m not a Wetherspoon regular but I know the ones in Derby and Ripley which are near where I live. Happened to be in the Oldbury area the other day and thought, oh well, usually not a bad pint. However I was taken aback by the super friendly welcome, excellent beer and truly amazing food at the Court of Requests. This has to be the best Wetherspoon pub ever! Not only that, it is immaculately kept with a cracking little garden to the rear. Very thoughtfully imagined in line with its history and once again, a lovely, friendly place. Keep it up!

Excellent, on par with other Wetherspoon pubs we visited, didn't disappoint!

A huge thank you to Jay and the rest of the team who were working at the Court of Requests when we held our Mom's wake there in January. Despite dealing with a very busy pub at the time, the staff patiently and calmly made the extra effort to help us with anything we needed - ordering food, sorting enough cups for tea and keeping our designated area free until we left. Though sorting out 15 hungry people's meals all at once wasn't easy, Jay and his team were bringing out the food in no time at all which was a relief and most welcome. After making sure everyone got what they wanted, I then thought I wouldn't feel like eating my fish, chips & mushy peas, but the fish was so fresh, and the batter so light and crispy, that I ate the lot and knew that the Court of Requests had been the right place to celebrate the memory of my Mom. Thanks again to everyone at the Court of Requests for helping to make my Mom's wake more than I could have hoped for.

Nice breakfast rude waitress. We tidied the table thanked the waitress but she didn't speak the whole time and walked around with a face on her. Ruined my experience with spoons

Beautiful building, classic, comfortable 'spoons' energy, clean toilets, plenty of tables ... small car park and have to put in reg hence 4 stars as you don't get reminded to put in reg and the keyboard to put in reg is at the main entrance from main road and not where you walk in from the car park and head to the long bar. It's at the other end 🤨 currently due 3 tickets now as realised on 4th visit in 1 month, so all in all it's worth a visit for a decent priced and tasting pint or double! 😊 ... plenty of gamblers too and couple TVs 📺

Very quick service but distinct lack of garlic and herb sauce on my burger.

We arrived around 8pm, the guy on the desk was friendly and helped us take our cases to our room on the first floor (there are no lifts). The room was small, just big enough for a double bed, not much room to manoeuvre round it. The ensuit was very small, and a large person would struggle. The heating went off, so it was cold overnight. We stayed over on our way to the airport. It did the job and the price was good compared to the airport hotels.

Super strength lineup this morning on the cask ale front. Typical Spoons in a historic old police station / courthouse/ library - well worth visiting.

Our local Weatherspoons and as always found it to be expected and was nice and warm inside despite it being bitter cold outside!;!

This pub used to be. Oldbury library before they converted it into the place it is now.

Hi good morning I visited the court of request and found staff very good and pices very good I but a have completed that I going to found a sit always laugh but the guy India he name is jeeta he always insults and say can't say at machine table because that's us sit thank you

I have been coming here for a long time , generally I'm pretty impressed with the food and price . However today I ordered a 12inch wrap . First of all it looked like a very small portion . I opened it up and the filling was ridiculously small , as shown in the picture the filling was just in the middle with most of the wrap just a wrap! You must know people come here for value for money , however when you feel cheated , you will lose your custom.

Lovely pub that you can actually talk in. No music just full of people catching up with friends. Excellent food, quick with good service and clear up.. Bar staff very efficient and professional. Good selection of ales. Keen prices.worth a visit.

As always a pleasure to visit had a lovely Christmas Lunch with my friend thank you.

Food was disappointing. Mashed potato wasn't mixed properly, gravy was thick and lumpy. the ham and cheese pannini had no cheese on it.

Busy, well maintained Spoons. Friendly staff and usually a good select of cask beer. Food is your standard Spoons menu served in my experience quickly and as ordered.

Normal Spoons menu but served quickly and well presented. Staff were great, genuinely welcoming and considerate. Several rooms to chose from lots of character in the building

Slow service! Kept waiting at the wait to be seated Desk!! Below-average food. Bar staff low knowledge.

Had eggs benedict with a side order of mushroom & bacon. only 1 rasher, normally get 2. Perhaps a mistake with the order,possibly due to staff member looking and texting on her phone when taking the order. Had a mocha hot drink which was only 2/3 full and tasted awful. Regular visitor to Whetherspoons @ Blackheath Much better !!

i love the food at the court of requests but today me and my mom experianced some abuse from a group of loud men that had allot to drink and they were not dealt with and they was making others feel very uncomfertable.

Nice pub, good price drinks. Food lets it down now haven't really enjoyed a meal there for a while. Shame as it used to be a great place to eat. Can get a but rowdy think they should corner off a part for people who would like a quieter spot.

Breakfast was great this morning. Staff were helpful and pleasant- 1 helped me with my pushchair and another found my phone that had dropped on the floor. Service on the bar was great too. Thankyou. Visited between 10 and 12

This was a fantastic pub for drinking, with a quirky design and vibe! The bookshelves and models based on machinery are lovely decorations, counter is well-presented too and the seating is comfortable.

Very nice wetherspoons pub relaxing rather than the usual ones that are hustle and bustle but the food in there is sparce compared with other witherspoon pubs

Always a pleasure coming to this pub the service is amazing I'm always ordering off the wether spoon app and the speed to which my drinks and food arrive are amazing used other pubs with apps but this one is the quickest.

One of the best Wetherspoons in the Midlands, in my opinion. It used to be a court house, the courtroom and cells are still there. It would be nice to open these for public viewing on Heritage Open Days. The food is nice, the service is quick, and there's plenty of room. They have some great vegetarian options. I would recommend eating here. It's sometimes tricky to find a parking space, perhaps create more spaces by removing the bushes at the corner? This would help to alleviate the issue.

This court house pub is unreal. On your way to the toilets, there's a door that is normally locked. But sometimes it's not, and that is the real history of what this place used to be back in the day. Try your look and find out for yourself..

Really like this genuine pub. A few times I have walked up the canal from Birmingham just to visit it. I love the displays of local history around the walls. Well done Wetherspoons.

The usual wetherspoons experience, this was however just after the lunch rush. The waiter did manage to get around and wipe and clear the tables which is always a bonus, the service at the bar and for food was also prompt. Great effort from the guys on duty.

Hadn't been for a meal here for at least a year has it became very shabby and food wasn't brilliant so I decided to give it another go to my disappointment it hadn't changed if anything it was worse the staff are rushed of their feet food was just warm tables sticky is it down to management 🤷🏻‍♀️

Worst steak I have ever been served. A third of it was inedible grissel, chips where just warm. No one came and asked how my food was, very poor service and terrible food.

It's absolutely love this pub. I remember I went there after I met the Mayor and I celebrated the achievements of what we did last year. I had a dinner there and it's really dark that night.

Good choice of drinks ,as you would expect from a Witherspoon pub , ordered food and drinks at the bar ,food arrived after a couple of minutes ,was hot fresh and good .

Good place to relax in. Decorated nicely. Food is good and reasonably priced. The service is very quick compared to other places.

Spent a few pounds only 💷 and got fined £70 for parking in their own car park. Won't be coming back.

I ordered shots and I was waiting a long time and my breakfast was at the table which I didn't know about. The bar man took time making g my shots while the food was getting g cold. He never said he would bring it over and my food went cold. The shots wasn't at its right measurements either. The management came over and never apologise of the wait and she was very rude and didn't compromise. Management was very unapproachable and didn't want to know our views.

The ambience is great. The menu is limited and basic.

Lovely listed building -nice staff … but please can someone clean !!! The lamps / lamp shades are filthy. There is dust on the chair frames. The carpet / upholstery needs hoovering, tables need wiping - so didn’t order food although many others did

I popped here for a bite to eat after shopping. I ordered the herd chicken with potato and peas ,but when it came out, it did now look very appealing. The colour was greenish has though it had gone off. But after removing the skin, the meat was fine ,but I would not order it again because you eat with your eyes, and It put me off my meal .
