County Cottage Hotel in Rushcliffe

I work away quite a lot and it was such a lovely treat to find such a friendly hotel with great food. Great staff and fantastic service. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you

Stayed overnight here. Room characterful (sloping floors and unreliable plumbing) and spacious, but in need of a bit of tlc. Perfectly ok for one night but not luxurious. Breakfast not bad for a small place - plenty of choices, fair food, good coffee. Very friendly staff both on reception and especially in dining room. Overall a three-star hotel with three-star facilities, but had to pay four-star prices so probably not great value for money, though it served our purpose.

My son and his wife decided to hold a family get together as a part of their 40th birthday celebrations. All of the staff were absolutely brilliant from the start to the finish. They were friendly, efficient and totally professional the whole time. Nothing was too much trouble. The room we were allocated was just right. I can say that everyone in our group enjoyed the whole experience. The food was of a very good standard. The choices for refreshments was very good and sensibly priced. Nothing seemed to phase the hard working and calm staff. I can say with great confidence that I would recommend anyone to use this venue for any purpose. It is well worth using.

I tried to book the small restaurant for a private wedding reception and was told by Sue it was available. The next day after leaving a message for Linda to contact me, which wasn't passed on to her, I had to ring twice before I could speak to her to be told it was booked out for another wedding and Sue must have looked in the wrong diary!!! What sort of a way is this to run a business. I didn't even get a decent apology!! Really disappointed.

We stayed 2 nights and was very impressed with hotel and all the staff for making us feel welcome and generally looking after us as they also had a wedding to contend with loads of revellers attending.

We had my daughters wedding here on 2nd June 2018 and what more can I say than it was the most amazing day ever, the staff could not do enough for you, the food was amazing, the settings and layout and the way it was conducted were all so beautiful. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and we had a lot of family stay. Breakfast in the morning was also yummy! Could not fault the place and would definitely recommend it for weddings or any other event you wish to hold here. The gardens were so lovely especially the little courtyard which was perfect for the venue. Thankyou very much to everyone involved, hope to see you soon for afternoon tea or just a meal & drink! 10/10

We had afternoon tea here which was a christmas present from friends. It was just ham, cheese and egg sandwiches with Mr Kipling cake and a bought scone. It wasn't worth the drive over there, which took us half an hour, if I had known what it was going to be like I would have stayed home and not bothered going. The service was good but being the only people in a large room felt very uncomfortable. We had to ask for the strawberries and cream which was supposed to be part of the tea, otherwise we wouldn't have got it.

Had lunch here after a family funeral, service was excellent food great and very tasty. The service staff were very attentive and catered to all our needs. We will return

A good range of english food from a roast dinner to huge steaks and not too expensive. Nice atmosphere for a lone traveller.

Visited for various events. Funeral, evening entertainment & meetings. Pleasant peaceful atmosphere. & home made cake to die for !

We were told on arrival [ having booked in advance ] that the main restaurant was not available due to an event later that day. We were shown to a rather small side room where we were given a table next to the only other couple in the restaurant near to the door. There was no atmosphere and we had to listen to the conversation of the couple nearby. The food and service was disappointing. When we left there was no sign of anyone to ask how we got on. We telephoned to complain when we got home and received a defensive response.

A group of about thirty of us enjoyed a lovely get together with afternoon tea. The room we were in was well laid out and looked amazing! This would make a brilliant venue for a wedding party. The tea and coffee was plentiful and the food consisted of a variety of sandwiches, followed by scones and a selection of small cakes. Every one was impressed, and a Christmas get together was booked whilst we were there! The staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. well done!

The hotel consists of several traditional houses, which together is the hotel. I had one room in one if these small houses. Nothing is straight en little flowers or dots as decoration everywhere, carpets, wallpaper, curtains. I had a very good and relaxed time in the hotel. It made me feel at home. Not everything perfect. The way normal life is. The attitude seems to be, do not replace what can be repaired. This will grow to the very English authentic countryside atmosphere. The pub, part of the hotel is also visited by the local people which contributes even more to the at home feeling. The staff is very nice and helpful. They do their best to make the stay comfortable. To summarise, I liked it and recommend the hotel, realising it may not be everyone's taste.

Excellent catering to food allergies. We were quite happy with the food and the staff. The service was a little slow, but the bar was busy and we were the only people in the dining room and there was a large banquet on.

This restaurant needs praise. Waiters are very polite and professional. The décor of the dining area might need updating but it is nice enough. Menu was nice and simple, we asked for any specials and were offered braised - I think :) - lambs shoulder and beef curry. We had the lamb and hunters chicken and they were delicious and portions were generous. They also made specially for us eggs marie rose starter and it was perfection itself. Thank you again and keep the cook at any price :)

My daughter loved every moment of her wedding at country cottage. Everything was sorted with two meetings and half an hour the day before. Every thing we asked for was done. We had our own beer bought in plus special rum no problem. The price...

Caro. Todo el lugar tenía un ambiente muy cansados, es necesario un montón de redecoración. La habitación no estaba muy limpia, telarañas en la pared del dormitorio y techo, patch moho en suelo del baño y moho alrededor de la bañera. Cenamos allí una noche, tuvimos la carne asada, no es nada especial, he comido mejor en un café de transporte..

Elegimos el Campo Hotel después de ver que se anunciaba en la Rudd Directorio madres y estamos muy contentos de haberlo hecho. Fuimos con otras 30 personas para el té de la tarde después de que nos casamos. La habitación, el servicio y la comida era fantástica. Muchas gracias por hacer que nuestro día aún más especial! Muy recomendable y definitivamente volveremos.

My husband, daughter and her husband went here at Christmas. It is a lovely venue. Welcomed with a drink and the Meal was very good. Very busy but the staff coped very well and were very attentive. Would recommend for a meal would be nice for a wedding reception. Would recommend..

I stayed at this comfortable hotel for two nights as I didn't need to stay in Nottingham itself. The welcome was excellent and staff most helpful. There is ample off road parking close to the accomodation which is actually in old cottages around the main building. Good bed, very comfortable and quiet environment. Decor was a bit tired but nice ensuite room. I didn't dine here so can't speak for the restaurant however the two breakfasts I had were splendid and if the service and quality is the same in the evening then I suspect one would not be disappointed.

Had a lovely afternoon tea here for my mother's birthday. Friendly staff, nice environment and good food. Will definitely recommend, looking forward to returning.

Stayed here last night. Friendly staff. Reasonable rates. Stayed in bridal suite which was a tad out dated in decor. But did have a lovely large spa bath. Overall was a nice stay over but does need a make over.

The Country Cottage sums up this hotel exactly. It is full of character with very helpful staff. I stayed here with my mother who is 93 years and we stayed in the Courtyard suite which was roomy and comfortable. There was a step into the room and the bed area and bathroom were split level but this was not a problem. Between the bed and bathroom was a delightful sitting area with flat screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The decor was excellent with some very pretty distressed furniture. Outside our room was a courtyard patio with table, chairs and sunshade. We had a very delicious breakfast on both days but did not eat in the restaurant at other times. We'd definately seek this hotel out again if staying in the area.

Had a lovely lunch here. Staff very friendly. I had the pie of the day Chicken and Leek, which I could highly recommend. My husband had the Fish and chips which he enjoyed. It wasn't busy, so I am sure you could always turn up and get lunch without booking. They have a curry of the day and a pasta of the day so it does cater for wide tastes. It had a lovely courtyard area which I am sure would be lovely to sit out in in the nice weather.

I have eaten here lots over the last number of months. The food itself is getting progressively better, but the menu options are very limited.

popped in for tea and had the pan fried chicken with chorizo and new potatoes cooked by Steve the chef , absolutely fantastic . Steve really is a fantastic chef , wonderful ! I cant recommend the food highly enough

Had post funeral tea at this hotel. Food was excellent and plentiful. We had a few people with sensitivities and the hotel catered for them willingly. Staff friendly and efficient, not pushy or intrusive. Highly recommended.

Staff are really friendly but quality of food served is terrible - considering the prices that are attached to them.

Had an amazing friday lunch and decised on the £9.95 two course meal with Fish n Chips as the main course. The whole thing melted in my mouth. Was absolutely delious!! Highly recommened. Think this Resaurant is Nottingham's best kept secret!!
