Cotton Wheel in Aylesbury Vale

We came for an evening out for my mother’s birthday. Ordered a steak which was supposed to be medium, first came out well done, then replaced with an extremely rare steak. So sent back. Except our birthday girl got a special surprise and found a hair in her lasagna. Simple to say we’ve already called to cancel our further bookings. (The manager was lovely and sorted us out a partial refund but safe to say the chef needs to learn their health and safety training again)

A fantastic pub with great staff. With a good meal range food is always been great good size portions never had any problems there. Great atmosphere there always been made welcome.

We walked to the pub to watch the football this was the only one in Aylesbury show sky sports the bar staff were stressed at one point there was only the girl was serving one time I went up to the bar to order a drink and she was having a argument with the chef through her land yard at the young man and she walked out there were loads of used glasses on the bar and we had to use our gin glass because she was going to put a gin and tonic in a wine glass 😖 later they said there was no cola or lemonade 🍋

Slow to serve drinks after ordering on app. Slow on food service. Ordered a well done steak and was rare at best. Better places around for the same vibe.

Cheap eating and comfortable surroundings

My partner and I went for a meal and decided to visit the Cotton Wheel, Aylesbury. We both went for the fish and chips and ordered salad in replacement of the always offered peas, ( not everyone likes peas!!) The " salad " was absolutely awful, 4/5 leaves of sad looking rocket, yep!! that's it. Looking at this I was most annoyed that my phone was left at home. Most pubs offer at least three varieties of salad, some more. I refrained from making a complaint otherwise the rest of the meal would have been spoiled, disappointing. The meal was cheap and otherwise reasonable value, so salad lovers, bewere !!

Nice food and decent drinks. Service was fairly quick, but refused to do a tab, which was a real pain when having a meal and a few drinks.

Lovely food, lovely atmosphere and great customer service.. plus not expensive so ticks all the boxes for me. Would defo recommend.

Friendly and nice food. My nan used to come here regularly before she passed away recently. Knew everyone by name and they even let her take her leftovers home. Such welcoming atmosphere as most of our family get togethers here. Thanks guys for helping my family create memories

Went as a group. Food was good, nice portions. Served on hot plates too which I think is important. Staff nice and polite and friendly.

Came for a meal out with friends and left hungry! To start with the staff came across as if they just couldn't be bothered to be there. The food wasn't very edible! One meal had to go back as it was cold, the steak was 50% fat and the rest of it looked like it had just been threatened with the fryer! Again, when we told the staff they couldn't care less! Don't expect much from these places, but food you can actually eat would have been nice!! Put a bit of a dampener on a nice day!

Had a lovely meal this evening. The pub was very busy when we got there but the service was quick and even though the staff seemed rushed the service was attentive and friendly. The dinners were amazing quality and portion sizes fantastic. We highly recommend

Went for lunch with my family, had the chicken parmigiana, very tasty, service was great, very friendly staff.

The food was excellent stuff are very polite and helpful nothing was two much trouble. They even helped my friend who has an allergy so that they could have something nice to eat.

Went for a meal with the family, food was great, wonderful service too, tried the chocolate torte on the new dessert menu and wow, wasn’t disappointed.

We love this pub and had another visit on Sunday. We don’t get to visit this pub often as we live out of town but Wow! What a great experience again. We arrived with and was seen to very quickly by Gabi the manager and told there was a slight wait on food but we wasn’t bothered, the place was nearly full. We ordered 4 roasts, 1 Beef and 3 turkey, We didn’t even wait that long and wow what a tasty dinner! Beautifully cooked, hot and so tasty and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend if you visit on a Sunday. The staff are lovely here and always made to feel welcome. Will definitely be booking here for our Xmas dinner. 5 stars!

Service was nice and speedy, food came out promptly too. Inside was very nice and cozy, great atmosphere and a lovely place to go for family and friends. Gabi and the gang are smashing it!

Bar was quite busy, barmaid acknowledged us as soon as she saw we we’re waiting. Great offers on menu, tonight was grill menu at reduced price. Steak was excellent, along with sides, cooked to perfection and very tasty. Ordered pudding at the bar after and the general manager was very attentive and as young server that delivered our food to table asked for our feedback, great customer service by all staff, we shall be returning for more offers on different set nights on menu, can highly recommend this pub for great food, great hospitality and great value for money.

Came here for lunch again today ! Best rump steak I have had in a long time! Really good value as there was some sort of deal on! My family and I dining in this restaurant/pub for many years now. I like the stuff friendliness and food. Today, I said to the waiter to tell the chef that the food was delicious! I didn't have such good onion rings and fries for a long time in any restaurant I visited in the last couple of years. Someone would ask what can be so difficult about cooking onion rings or fries. Well, trust me there can spoil the whole meal for you. Both were perfectly cooked, not soaked in oil or dry or uncooked, and as I said best I had in years! The burger was amazing too, of course, all meals were very enjoyable and I am not exaggerating! We will definitely return soon for more. 😊

I have visited this place recently after a long time. I found everything was still the same since my last visit about a year ago. A well managed and maintained place with broad collection. Staff are polite. I would request them to provide the same quality of beer which they provide during quite days. This time i had visited on Saturday and found stella was not the same as it used to be.

This is a nice standard-issue pub with a good menu. A good option for a pub lunch/dinner, suitable for families when it's quiet, though like any pub gets noisy when it's full. Food is well made, the folks working here are nice.

Not a bad pub but wanted some food and almost every dish I chose was unavailable. Ended up getting the chicken Newyorker and was ok but obviously not my first choice. In response to your reply it may be a good idea to have a board with a menu near the bar noting the available dishes rather then sit down decide what you are all eating going to the bar to be told one thing isn't available then having to redecide three times because the back and forth. Also the bar staff have no idea what is or is not available only the waitresses do so a bit of communicationwould help.

We ate there last night with 5 children and 3 adults. Food was exceptionally efficient all orders correct and came out quickly. I Ordered the Chicken Tikka Currey and was advised to double up which I am glad I did. Bajiis were so good, really impressed, curry tender meat cooked perfectly and my partner had a mixed grill with no complaints. Meat nice and tender, juicy. Food is very reasonabley priced on week days(2 for £11.49) service is usually quick and the food is hot. The good lady and l can have 2 meals 2 drinks for under 20 quid. Not to be sniffed at with the cost of living at the moment!!

Service was friendly but the food was disgusting. I had new York chicken, the bacon was black and the chicken was like rubber, It came in a dish topped with cheese and in the bottom was water which is a give away that it had been re heated in the microwave. On a good note the chips were OK.

Very poor service lately, the food...well I've never left food in a restaurant before....the last visit I did! We arrived for 6.30pm and starters came around 7.30pm.....then our mains I had to chase up...we finally had our mains about 8.35pm! Well what came out on my plate was not edible, the crispy potatoes...I was expecting fried potatoes cut into disks....not greyed corpse looking new potatoes....the breaded escalope with tomato sauce was over cooked and the sauce was so tastless they may have well just left it off.....they could purchase passata sauce and add garlic and basil and it would easily taste so much better than what was placed on top of the escalope! Drinks were brought over to us....but left on the table behind, the lady walked off and didn't even let us know they were our drinks....overall this place has gone down hill and we probably won't be back as it wasn't a great experience at all!!!! They really need to up thier game and service!

Decent food, reasonable prices and a good selection. Often understaffed at the bar though.
