Cote Brasserie - West Bridgford in Rushcliffe

Very disappointed to find there is no longer a vegetarian breakfast. The original fresh vegetarian sausages were amazing and made the Cote vegetarian breakfast a hero dish! Today I was presented with a vegan breakfast created with cheap ingredients to include a frozen mushroom pate burger which was thin and tasted like cardboard! Furthermore there were no hash browns which have been replaced with boiled potato wedges…The service was good with friendly staff.

So let's start with the positives, great location, nice atmosphere and very attentive staff The food was below average, not great quality and wasn't particularly presented well, very over priced.

We were a group of 6 celebrating and chose 6 different things off the menu. Food arrived perfectly cooked, hot and delicious. The relaxed surroundings were improved with the arrival of a saxophonist and we had a great brunch experience. Our waiter Conor handled our multiple requests with good humour and panache, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended 👌

Very disappointing. Waiter more interested in talking to other staff than serving. We would have ordered more drinks if asked. Meals arrived cold and veg sides under cooked. Manager dealt with issues initially but didn’t check if this had been solved - it wasn’t! Previously really good but return there now.

Went for Husbands birthday. Had the Lamb dish and Sea Bream. Both dishes were excellent could not find a fault with either. The waiting staff were extremely polite and knowledgeable about all the food served. Staff could not have been more helpful. Now consider this our go to venue for Breakfast and meals when we want to have a treat, or to take our friends out.

Average food, wouldn’t personally return. Prices seem quite high for the quality, however the staff are friendly & attentive so it was pleasant.

17 of us dined at Cote to celebrate my daughters wedding. The staff were superb. Nothing was too much trouble and despite being such a large number all the food arrived together and we did not have to pre-order. Without exception everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Many thanks for giving us such a fabulous celebration.

What an amazing experience, the location the restaurant was amazing. We had the French onion soup to start and the cote de boeuf main, this is one amazing place with a great atmosphere and great staff

We are regulars at Cote West Bridgford. The food is always lovely. The last 5 or 6 visits have been painful as the service is so slow an unattentive. Items have been forgotten, it takes ages when I ask for sauce. Why don’t they just have sauces ready to go rather than having to squeeze them out of a bottle into a small plate and rgen given out, by which time my breakfast has gone cold. On our latest vidit, I had to ask for the water twice and tgen they completely forgot about the 2nd bottle and I didn’t fancy getting up and chasing it again. The toast was cold, and we gad the same sauce issue again. The drinks always take so long to come. The service is challenging even when it’s not busy. The level of service has now become such a consideration as to whether we should visit or not as it makes our hearts sink a little bit more each time. The food is great and the staff are lovely. It feels like the company are saving money on have just the minimum amount of staff, who aren’t the most efficient in any case.

Sunday morning Champagne breakfast at Cote West Bridgford with my girl friend - what a way to start our lovely Sunday. Lovely welcome at reception, great table in people watching spot (window table). Any breakfast from the menu, champagne and a hot drink for short of £22. Car Parking in West Bridgford £3 for 3 hours - worth a cheeky visit for sure.

Lovely staff and a nice ambience. Excellent varied menu but I did feel it was super expensive . Definitely west bridgford prices. My poulet de Breton gratin - the manu said a creamy sauce but in fact it was extremely watery, like a broth almost. Which I did find dissapointing. The flavour was nice though and overall I did enjoy it but it was not what I had expected. The main negative here was some of the entitled, typically snooty clientele. Heard a few people complaining about service and wait times - did not agree with them. For freshly cooked and not microwaved pub meals I’m not sure what they expected Overall, a very pleasant evening and I will be back for a special occasion meal.

Great food, efficient friendly staff, comfortable surroundings. There were 21 of us and all meals came out together and were hot and delicious. We had pre-ordered and the service was brilliant. Definitely recommend a visit.

Côte is my treat restaurant. I come here on my own for brunch to make a day off feel special, and it’s an easy choice to spend my birthday evening here. You know the food will be good, and you know you’ll feel special.

First time visit, nice ambience, service a bit hit and miss, mains arrived whilst used starter crockery still on the table, had to hold used starter crockery whilst mains were placed on table. Same problem with mains of mussels as with everywhere else, large bowl of mussels but only a small bowl for the shells - if you have a large bowl of mussels why do every restaurant give you a small bowl for the discarded shells, do they think you're going to eat some of the shells!!! Having tried the Peterborough Cote on several occasions, thought the West Bridgford restaurant was not of the same standard however, in view of the time of year (Christmas/New Year period) will give it another try later on.

As a pescatarian we felt the menu catered for our needs. The whole family enjoyed the food, ambiance and time we spent at the restaurant. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Management are unprofessional and prefer to take profit over service. Why not concentrate on the customers you have in the restaurant instead of trying to fill it when you’re obviously short staffed. Never again.

Business lunch break on a weekday but little sense of urgency from the waiting staff despite there being few other diners. Ordered from the Prix Fixe menu. Fishcakes & chicken. Food tasty enough but portions on the small side. Clearly designed to encourage people to order 3 courses.

I came in with my nan today. I called beforehand as she has dementia and can become be quite overstimulated and emotional. So I asked for a table out of the way. The manager was a pleasure when we arrived. He was so flexible and gentle with my nan, giving her the choice of where she wanted to sit. I'm really grateful for that. The staff were all delightful, unintrusive, but attentive. My nan had such a lovely experience here. The food was lovely. The only thing I'd say is the steak needed something else. I'm not sure what, but it needed just something else with it. Everything else was great! We will definitely be back. Thank you!

This place is not what it was! Service was slow ,service staff spent a lot of time around the bar area talking which explains the slow service. Like a previous reviewer commented, my steak was burnt on one side and tasted bitter, the worst steak I have ever had. Very disappointing night out for my wife's birthday.

We were welcomed by staff and seated in a very nice booth. We had a have nice and friendly waiter attend to us who was a manager who was visiting from the Oxford branch. He made us feel welcome and at ease. When he heard we were celebrating a birthday he kindly gave us a bottle of wine on him and made sure we were all having a good time throughout. He made the experience a delight. We will be sure to go back very soon for the excellent food, nice atmosphere and wonderful staff. Highly recommend.

Service was very friendly but slow. The food was poor, the steak was the worst I can remember, and all of us didn’t like them. Mine was overcooked, burnt on one side, dry and tough. Cheese soufflé was a nice flavour but very dense. Chocolate mouse tasted good though and was a good size. Won’t come back

Smart restaurant. Food was prepared nicely, There was quite a wide choice of dishes, including vegetarian. We plumped for the fish Parmentier and pork belly for which we could find no fault. The restaurant only serve bottled beers so I couldn't have a lager shandy, but not a major problem. All in all a good place to come for a quality meal out

We visited to celebrate the birthday of a family member visiting from the US, and had a fantastic experience! The staff were all very welcoming and ensured we had a very special evening. We’ve been to this location several times and the service and quality of the food are consistently excellent.

My sister is visiting from overseas and today is her birthday, so naturally I wanted to take her to my fave spot for some delicious Beef Bourguignon, Duck confit, and pork belly confit: Côte. We were a large party of 19 diners, served by Henry. Speaking personally I can recommend this Restaurant wholeheartedly. The meal was well cooked, delicious and expertly serve by Henry, who did an amazing, professional job serving the meals and drinks brilliantly.

I was in Cote Friday evening ordered off the Al a Cart menu, both my friend & I had the fish pie. I have to say it was average, small portion with no sides. For £15 per person plus having to order a side of veg, very expensive. I feel the portions are getting smaller & the price has gone up. I won't rush to go back.

We had an early dinner at Cote and ate from the set menu, the starters were fine and the service at that stage was ok, we waited 15 minutes for the starter plates to be removed and then another 5 minutes for the main courses...

We were a little disappointed after this visit. My husband ordered sea bass but was told that they had none. We found other tables being told that there wasn't any sea bass, sea bream, mussels, or crab on being seated, but we weren't informed until ordering. I had the poulet grille, which was a little overcooked and could have done with a bit more sauce. My husband had the minute steak, which came with a flower! We mentioned this to the waitress who apologised but was unsure as to why it was on his plate. We love Cote but felt that it's a little tired now. The glass was chipped, as was the dessert jug. It was just not up to its normal standard Having said all that, we will book again & hope to have the fish next time.

we went for breakfast this morning as a group of 12 and despite a variety of dietary needs everybody left with full tummies and smiles. the vegan breakfast was delicious i just wish there had been more than one rosti with it. the staff were very friendly and we weren't rushed out the door after we had eaten so it was nice to have time to catch up.

We have been regular diners at Cote since it opened and never had a bad meal. Until ... Saturday 20th May. Prebooked lunch for myself and 3 friends. I am gluten intolerant so know only the Manager can deliver my meals. First course, wonderful. We then waited for the mains and after a delay of well over an hour we asked what had happened to them. they were delivered almost immediately but were cold and one of us only had the tiniest bit of samphire with her salmon. We did complain and our bottle of wine was taken off the bill. To make matters worse, we overstayed our 3 hour car park fee and received a £50 fine. Has this one experience put me off, no. I'm booked in again for lunch with other friends on 24 May. Fingers crossed it will be a better experience.

Had the set 3 course. Lovely food well cooked served beautifully. Portions of veg slightly on small side but was enough. Waiters friendly and attentive. Great ambience and music just loud enough to allow privacy but not have to have a shouted conversation. Perfect place to dine with friends or couples. I recommend booking aa it gets busy even mid week.

Its a verry lovely french resturant a bit pricey but still amazing. The staff are friwndly and nice and the food is high quality!

Exceptional food, second time I have visited and on this occasion my wife joined me. I would give the service 4 to 4.5 out of 5, not because there is anything wrong with it...it's just that the food is so good, bringing the service up a notch from very good to another level up would make for a truly sublime experience. Just those finer points... noticing the empty beer / wine bottle could be removed from the small table. Pouring water into the glasses rather than just leaving bottle plus glasses. Not discussing shift patterns within earshot of the table. There is always a noticeable difference between waiting staff who truly enjoy their role, and almost share in the experience of creating a special moment for and with the diner, and those who are performing a role because it is 'their job' for the night - who switch certain behaviours on and off when at or away from the table they are serving. Little details that in a way "don't matter' if focused on the food (which again, is amazing here)..but I want this place to continue to succeed and go from strength to strength, so I'm making these comments in the hope they make the team consider how to make things even better still. As things stand, you won't be disappointed at all and I do recommend this restaurant whole heartedly.

We have used this place before and have always enjoyed it. However this time the service on arrival was so slow. We had to ask a waitress to take our order after waiting 20 mins it wasn't busy. We did mention this when leaving and asked to waive the automatic service charge.

I took my wife here for valentines day I was not disappointed. We walked in and were made to feel welcome right away. The person on the front was polite and showed us to our table. Food wise we went for the valentine's menu and every last bite was beautiful. Not being a foodie I was not sure of what it would be like but I was very impressed with it. The waiting staff were friendly and happy to talk to my wife even though they were very busy. Fair price for what we had and can highly recommend this place. Thank you for making this day a special one and a day to remember we will be back to eat here again in the future.
