Decent pub before the match abit pricey but good

Excellent atmosphere. The building itself is full of some great original features l8ke the ceiling. outside is good for all the weather. Staff secondto none.

Popped into The Embankment pre footie with my Wife last Saturday afternoon. Very friendly, with a good range of drinks.. We decided to share some food, and went with the fully loaded chips, and chose the Louisiana dish which was absolutely delicious.. A very good drinking and dining experience thank you.

We held our wedding reception at the Embankment, and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Shereen, the events manager, was a dream come true - so kind and helpful, she helped us with the planning and we couldn't have managed it without her. For a really reasonable price, we hired the two upstairs rooms, and although we did provide most of our own decorations they were able to set it up for us and the rooms looked so gorgeous! The food (hot buffet, cottage pie) was amazing, several guests told us that it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding! Thank you so much Shereen and team for making our wedding celebrations so special 🩷

I've not been here for ages, decided to skip the Nottingham beer festival on the other side of the Trent, and bought a round (3 pints) of cocoa stout, brilliant ale. Must go again soon.

My favourite matchday pub, beers are exceptional, also visited on a Sunday afternoon for their excellent Sunday dinners

Great place for food or drinks and loads of cosy seating. There are benches out in the back, even with heating and free car parking. Lovely staff and large selection of beers

AmAzInG Sunday dinner!! A visit to the embankment for Sunday dinner has resulting in the place claiming the top spot. My family had the most delicious dinner, with gigantic portions. The cauliflower cheese is the best I have ever tasted! You will not be disappointed!!

Sunday roast was lukewarm a and underwhelming. The venue was cold. I have had great food in the past at this pub. I must have visited at an off day. Disappointing.

If you are wearing designer clothes do not try and get in this venue They will not reply to emails asking why the discriminate against people in this way Got told by door staff that if I put a £750 coat in the bin outside they would let me in Terrible service Update they have now replied to email and are accusing me of being drunk and trying to take alcohol in the pub and I do not drink because I am on medication all I wanted was a meal before the game with friends and family as we arrived on a coach and the rest of the coach party got in the pub I am not being called a lier by them

The Sunday dinners are outstanding.

The worst event been to this year what happend ? Absolute rubbish not even equivalent to half what usually is here at the embankment,been attending for years didn't manage to get there last year so was looking forward all the more disappointed to say the least a few rides with good music sound 👍 Great job, few foodie stalls all selling same old literally was it who ever organised this year you failed and you should think about career change not spent penny there btw 😎

A fantastic pub with a wide range of real ale to choose from. Didn't eat there but the food looked great.

We had the pleasure of getting married here 10/08 and we honestly cannot thank Shereen and the team at embankment enough 🙏🏽 the room was dressed beautifully everything was perfect, the food was Delicious and the whole process was smooth running and stress free from start to finish 🙃 highly recommend this pub for any special occasion ❤️🍾

Always go here for pre match pint. Only ever had pizza or the cheesy chips but Always on point.

All in all a good pub, they just need clean up their beer garden properly. It's filthy out there!

I'll start off by saying I've been here previously and recommended it to lots of people but unfortunately the service today has changed all of that. We originally sat in the conservatory but had to move after a very loud table arrived with lots of swearing in front of children. We ordered the 3 meat and the vegan roasts, I had the vegan and it was fine. My partner did not like the 3 meat, he tried a bit of everything on the plate but couldn't get on with any of it - the Yorkshires were incredibly crispy but then the bottom was uncooked, the green beans overdone etc. It is a large plate of food and it was a large plate of food after he had tried some of it. He took the plate to the bar and explained that he didn't like it and wanted a refund as he paid £21 for it. From where I was sitting I could see four staff behind the bar at the time and apparently not one of them had the sense to fetch the manager or practice good customer service. Supposedly he is the first person in the history of The Embankment to not like the food. Highly unlikely... The staff said they couldn't give him a refund as he had tried some of the food...?! I'll just leave that with you. So despite him clearly not even having had a quarter of it they refused even half the money back. He was offered a drink. He should have been offered £21 worth of drinks if anything. Understandly he was furious and we had to leave immediately. Let me say if I had of gone to the bar the outcome would have been entirely different, given that I have worked in hospitality for over 20 years and I was trained properly. If your staff do not know what to do with an unhappy customer then firstly train them to get the Manager immediately, secondly train them! I expect the Manager to get in touch with me and to offer the right outcome - a full refund. Needless to say I will no longer be recommending this place to people with dogs, or for the vegan food, or who want to walk and have a pub nearby. I'm a local and go in quite often for a drink so it really does go to show how detrimental bad service goes to your long-standing clientele. Do better.

We attended a birthday party upstairs at the Embankment the only problem was it was on a hot day and the zircon wasn't working but other than that it was a great place

Fine. I’ve had ales here that didn’t taste amazing but not bad enough to send back that’s for sure Atmosphere is cool but possibly lacking a ‘local’ vibe I reckon Outdoor area is popular with younger types Could be improved with slightly cheaper ales

The worst service, staff were rude, plates left for hours, asked multiple times for them to take the plates to be taken away. The food took over an hour to come for 2 people and it was so quiet. Front of house staff including bar and waitress’ were obnoxious and clearly didn’t want to be serving.

Had my baby shower at the embankment a few weeks ago and it was absolutely brill! We have been plenty before, but never for a function. Shereen and the team made everything flow so easily, we didn’t have to think of anything once. Food was amazing and the staff were their usual gorgeous selves

Walked down embankment and crossed over and did Southbank, Southbank especially lined with bars and various activities, worth a walk and you don’t need to spend money.

Visiting Nottingham for a concert , booked for Sunday lunch pre concert. I had the roast beef and hubby had the Sunday lunch burger. Both meals were absolutely delicious and plentiful . We asked for the chef to be told so.

Yet to find a better Sunday roast in Notts. All the food is amazing, the head chef needs Michelin star. All the staff are just lovely too. In such a perfect location by the river. A venue that is worth its weight in gold.

Sunday afternoon 21/4 around half four, the Castle Rock (one of my favourites was excellent) second round of drinks two roasts ordered roast beef topside & garlic & herb chicken breast, got to be one of the best Sunday roasts I have had in a very long time 😋

I really love this place. Nice and spacious but with a cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. It's also dog friendly. Great place for a drink or a nice meal. Some good veggie options and dietary options. And all at a reasonable price.

Great food, old school hospitality, fab selection of drinks .. Sunday lunch is outstanding. 5* Highly recommended.

A fascinating old building to visit. The pub used to be a Boots pharmacy which opened in 1907, and visual memories in the decor and in pictures on the walls are there to remind you of the building’s past. The pub is dog friendly and the staff are professional and pleasant to deal with. An excellent choice of beers are available in particular. We spent a very enjoyable weekend afternoon there with a group of friends and their dogs. Based on my experience I can strongly recommend this pub as a excellent choice to visit .

Best pub the Meadows. This place does the best Sunday Roast for miles around. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It has parking and a decent outside area. I would avoid it on match days unless you enjoy queuing, limited food options and football fans as it gets VERY busy.

We had booked here for a Christmas get together...20 of us in total. The pub suggested they do a carvery for us, supplied us with a carvery menu, and in all booking correspondence a carvery was confirmed. What we actually got was a buffet, a very disappointing buffet with barely enough food for all. When we pointed this out we were bought more carrots and parsnips...had to wait an age for more gravy too. The dessert was just as much of a let down, with a yule log sliced so thinly you could've slid it under the door. I would suggest the staff learn the difference between a buffet and a carvery and not act so surprised and offended when people ask for more when you supply an insufficient amount.

Absolutely terrible food. Portion size was ridiculous. 14 tiny fries in a bowl...as if this made it better!! ..and not massive fries ...little bits of fries. Steak baguette was a tiny rock hard cob cut in half with four thumb size tiny slices of steak. £12.50 ! Absolutely disgraceful...and we ordered 4 ....all terrible so.not a one off

Great food and great selection of drinks in former Boots Chemist and social club with fantastic interior decoration and atmosphere. Friendly staff with quick and efficient service and reasonably priced.

Do not park your car in their car park, signage so small re payment metres, we were at my friend's 50th got their at 7.30pm came away at 10pm and 3 days later a fine for £60. 00 for parking, so that was our 1st and LAST EVER VISIT.

Sometimes you need to take a gamble and roll the dice. Auditioning for a Shakespeare play, oh yes I am!

Nice historic pub ( it used to be the old Boots pharmacy social club) serving about 12 real ales and ciders and plenty of others on tap. Friendly staff. Serves food. Allows stop overs but be sure to ring ahead. There’s a computer system to input your vehicle details. Do this on arrival or risk being fined! It’s about a 15 minute stroll into town. Recommended. 🍻 🍎 🍏 🥘 🚐

Love this place. The food is exceptional. The staff are awesome. The drinks are always good (and varied if you drink ales). We liked it so much, we got married here and have just celebrated our first wedding anniversary here too 😀

We had our wedding evening party here on 19/8/23! I couldn’t have asked for better service from shereen and the team.The whole process was very well organised and was very accommodating to any needs and details I wanted. Anything I was unsure she was always there to help! The wedding day it’s self was amazing! Went so smoothly thanks to the whole team everything went as planned! The room was decorated perfectly! Also big shout out to chefs the food was amazing all my guests couldn’t believe how good the food was! Thank you again would highly recommend an event here!

Have only been here on match days, but the beer is fabulous. Brilliant atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff and door men. A lovely place to have a drink. Haven't tried the food yet, but I expect it is very good.

Didn't eat. Just had a couple of beers. Out of about 12 pumps, 6 were ciders. Other 6 beers but I wasn't over impressed with selection. One beer I had, Saltaire, was terrible.but that was the beer, not the pubs fault.

We had our wedding day here on the 30th June 2023. It was the best day ever. The room, the food, the atmosphere, just everything. Shereen and her team are absolutely fantastic, they couldn't do enough for us, and nothing was too much trouble. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Embankment as wedding venue to anyone, it really is the real deal x

I had the pleasure and honour to photograph a wedding at the embankment today and it was fantastic! The upstairs wedding facilities are beautiful and very elegant. The team are excellent at organising everything so that your wedding day runs smoothly and professionally. Everything was timed perfectly and the wedding was a huge success. Thoroughly recommend The Embankment for any couples looking for a well planned wedding with delicious menus, great service and plenty of options for your special day.

Would give five stars, it's a lovely characterful place, however have arranged to meet a friend here Sunday evening only to discover it's closing at eight🤔 I get that it's quiet, but there's an expectation that a pub will be open a little later. Staff are nice I will return. Parking bays for bikes, which I could put my small motorcycle in.👍

An interesting building with many original fixtures. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Service was good and the staff friendly and cheerful. The toilets were very clean.
