Our experience at The Radcliffe was nothing short of a disaster. We had booked a table for 6pm to celebrate my grandad’s 80th birthday and called earlier in the day to amend the booking to 7pm. Upon arriving at 7pm, the woman on the door informed us there was no record of our booking. She even asked if it had been a man who confirmed the change, which immediately raised concerns. We then watched as she walked over to the bar and began arguing with two other staff members about our booking. It became glaringly obvious that our table had been given away, and we were essentially stood up for what was meant to be a significant event. To make matters worse, the atmosphere inside was completely inappropriate for such an occasion. There was a large, rowdy party with drunken singing and chaos throughout the restaurant. This was meant to be a special evening for my grandad’s 80th birthday, but instead, we were left standing outside, disappointed and embarrassed. The staff's complete lack of professionalism and organisation ruined the night. I would never recommend The Radcliffe to anyone, especially for important occasions. My grandad was left heartbroken, and we were all deeply let down. An absolutely terrible experience.

This is primarily a restaurant. If you're an ale drinker you probably don't want to drink in here: Doombar, Pedigree, Harvest with Heiniken Neck Oil on keg. It's like going back in time 15 years. It's a bit of a shame as the food looked lovely, the pub is nice inside and the garden is great and very family friendly. Sells nice millionairres shortbread and rocky road. Scratchings were a disgrace. Cost me £30 for 4 pints, 1/2 of lemonade and 1/2 blackcurrant squash.

Lovely village pub with lots of outdoor space with a small kids park, the interior is gorgeous and the bar staff are very friendly, not to mention the place is very clean. The only issue I had with the place was it can be quite expensive. Highly recommended!

Really disappointing service at The Radcliffe. Having dined there 3 times now, I can clearly see how unwelcoming they are to new comers, particularly at the bar. Today they prioritised 5 regulars, even though I had been standing at the bar a number of minutes before they arrived and could clearly be seen by the bar staff. The regulars knew the bar staff by name. Nobody minds queuing your turn, but you expect it to be fair and having to wait until you are literally last, no matter what time you arrived at the bar, is rude. This is infact the second time this has happened to me at the bar. I doubt we will go back again.

We visited last night to take our grandson out for a steak meal as a treat. It was anything but, the three of us had steak, they were dreadful, fatty grizzle, thin and quite poorly cooked. For a bill of over £90 with bottled water it was an expensive meal that didn’t live up to expectations. A real shame. I left feeling hungry, I am pleased we had deserts at home.

A large group of us went 23 Dec in the evening and most of us orded of the festive menue. I had duck Pate for starter and that was very nice. I had a turkey dinner, very nice and the turkey was soft and moist. The portion was not too big. It was table service and staff came round regularly asking if anyone would like drinks and clearing empty glasses and plates etc. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meal and there was colouring to occupie the children. The disbuld toilet is not a radar key one and is a baby changing room to. The disabled toilet was clean and smelled nice, there was even hand cream. I had to ask staff to sort the paper towl dispencer and they where very quick at sorting it. The pub is easy to get to by public transport, bus and train station not far from it; please be awear the train station is unmand and the last train back to Nottingham is 9pm; also be awar that the Radcliff villager bus stops running by 8pm from Radcliffe, you can catch the Mainline but but that quite a walk back into Radcliffe to get it. The pub is well worth a visit, it has a large carpark.

The restaurant bit was empty except for myself. Trying to get served was not as easy as I would expect. As I think they were understaffed. It was 5pm on a Thursday. The menu is generally excellent. Went here last Sunday for my partner's birthday as the reviews were fairly positive. The pub is a nice place and we were greeted at the door and shown to our table. We both decided on the beef Sunday lunch and my partner was indecisive on whether to have cauliflower cheese as a side dish and as I don't like cauliflower and the dish was for two people she decided against it. Obviously the waiter didn't listen as when our meal came out there was a side order of cauliflower cheese. It did look delicious so I told her not to return it. The Sunday roast looked lovely however the meat was very very pink and extremely chewy and not enjoyable at all. We chose the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream for dessert and it was really light and fluffy but the ice cream was obviously served using a tea spoon as it was a tiny amount so for almost £9 felt a little cheated. Overall it could and should have been so much better but left really disappointed especially as we had gone for my partner's birthday.

The Pub / Restaurant was closed for a Wedding event to which we'd been invited! Apparently it was one of the first ones they've done!?! From start to finish everything was excellent. Food. Can of peas (or is it canapés) were tasty and well presented. All main courses were visually attractive and tasty (Yes, I tasted my wife's too). Same for the desserts. Drinks prices were not at a premium just because it was a function 👍😁. Finally, the staff. Quick, efficient, pleasant and diligent. I was really impressed when waiting for a drink at the bar, a member of staff walked by, saw a couple of bits on the bar out of place and immediately tidied them. Really great day. Thanks to all involved.

Went for an adult birthday celebration. Good interior. Attitude of one member of staff left a lot to be desired. Possibly a manager. Fortunately serving staff were great and rescued the experience to some degree. Perhaps we went on a bad day having read other reviews. Mixed opinions from the party regarding the food. Not as relaxed as we had expected, but families with children would enjoy it as seems to be geared towards them.

Feeling a bit mixed. Arrived to a lovely welcome and taken straight to our seats- good table. Waitress forgot to tell us about the dishes that weren’t available today - that’s always the one you want to order! First two courses were excellent. Absolutely delicious. Both my husband and myself were impressed Desert was a bit disappointing. The ‘chocolate brownie’ was just chocolate sponge cake. Extremely bland and unimaginative. When I explained to the waitress she jumped in and said ‘not the consistency and texture of a brownie’ so I clearly wasn’t the first person to comment but it was still on the menu! Hubby had the cheese platter. Pleasant but a tad over priced for what it was Twice hubby ordered pints of beer via the waitress. One pint took over 15 minutes to arrive. They weren’t particularly busy. Only had one waitress. Manageress was on the phone in a booth for over an hour when really she should have been on the floor helping. When the bill came, they’d ‘forgotten’ to remove the glass of wine that was changed so we were overcharged. My only other observations were that there was no paper in the ladies loo or soap in the dispenser. On a night when it wasn’t particularly busy this had clearly not been checked properly £125 for a meal for two people, in a pub, I would have expected more. Will we go back? Probably not. I expected more. Or am I expecting too much? Shame as the first two courses were delicious.

Great pub, gotta be the best in the village I’d say nowadays. Always busy, had great food, something for everyone. Great garden, always has been: the place is and has been amazing since the refurb! The real ale selection is a bit lacking but that’s not their main attraction, if you want that, go to other pubs in the village! Now for the star of the show: Lawrence! I would rather drink rain water in the car park than ever visit this place again, after how rudely my partner and I were treated when we passed by here on our way to Nottingham. We simply wanted to sit and have a drink, but were subjected to the most dismissive and rude conversation I’ve ever had - including having worked service jobs myself. Left and found a much nicer place in the city centre instead. A shame as the decor was lovely, particularly the patio area, and I’m sure it was a great experience for the patrons who were not walked away from mid-conversation after a dismissive hand gesture.

Came here for Sunday dinner and thought it looked like a nice place. Was a little worried when we saw just a handful of people there at 1.30 on a Sunday. Firstly, the young staff were lovely and friendly but appear to need training. This obviously isn't their fault but the management/ owners. Next the starters were not bad , but with only a choice of four I'd expect better. Onto the main course , we had the lamb shank ( which was nice and pretty hard to mess up) there was a red cabbage puree which just didn't add anything to the experience, with cabbage( undercooked) and carrots which were nice as boiled carrots go. Then the big problem, roast potatoes. This is a key part of a Sunday dinner, especially if you're not serving mash with it. As soon as we saw the potatoes we knew they were old , reheated or just badly cooked. We tried them and they were like rubber. So we told the waitress and she quickly sorted some more. These looked pretty much the same condition ,except that now they looked and tasted like they'd been given a quick 2 minutes in the deep fryer in vegetable oil to "liven " them up. On paying the bill I felt I had to mention this to the waitress and all she could say was " I'll pass that onto the chef" Again, probably not her fault, simply poor training and standards by the business. We didn't have dessert and won't be returning.
