Good beers and really enjoyed the Spinach and Mushroom Tortellini.

Food was great and service was very quick and polite

Very disappointed in the increase in price. Main meals in line with most other restaurants /pubs. The cost of puddings were ridiculous . A piece of chocolate brownie with one scoop of ice cream £7.95. All the puddings were grossly over priced. Not justifiable.

The Dorset has become a new local since I moved into the area. The staff are all so lovely, good range of drinks too, beers and cider both on draft, including a craft beer (Brixton Pale Ale) and cocktails too. Not eaten here yet, but I do often eye up the food and it looks delicious. It's not a "pubby pub"... It's a bit more upmarket, which I like. No live sports or fruit machines here. Lovely outdoor seating for those warmer days, dedicated smoking area also. Really nice pub!

A pub that doesn’t let well behaved dogs in (especially when it’s pouring with rain) can’t really call itself a pub…

Just back from a Sunday lunch at this very well run restaurant. 5 stars for service, food and ambience. It was very busy, but our food arrived in an acceptable time. A bit pricey, but all places are now ! Happy to recommend.

Booked to celebrate 40th wedding anniversary but No Lamb, Beef or Steak so a massively reduced menu spoilt the occasion. Wouldn’t rush back or recommend to others.

I visit here often as it's delicious, high quality pub-grub. Lots of choice on the menu, friendly staff and quick service. The best gluten-free fish & chips in Nottingham!

There was a big party nexy to our table spreading themselves all over adjacent tables as they were finishing. Pushchair right next to us. We were in a hurry so we didnt ask to be moved.

I often come here as I find it a great place for a range of occasions: breakfast, dinner, business meetings, and drinks. They have a nice range of food, never had a problem with it, occasionally staff seem a bit flustered regarding the cocktails and what are in them, but they always taste great, so no complaints! Service is always friendly and attentive

A place where you can have your dinner in a quiet environment after sunset

I hosted my husband’s 50th birthday dinner at The Dorset. In total there were twenty one of us and we had a lovely evening. We had pre ordered our food, which was beautifully cooked and the staff were very attentive and polite. Many thanks to Jess, Kevin and Lily in particular. All guests really enjoyed the evening and we will certainly be back.

Having had a lovely meal here in April we decided to return and eat off their fixed menu again. I was so disappoined with my starer and main course. My starter was "wild mushrooms on sourdough". This consisted of the tiniest slice of sourdough toast and the sliced mushroom, of which would have made about ONE mushroom. It was all sauce and hardly any mushrooms or bread for that matter. i've had this before and it was much better, for a start, it was 2 slices of toast before. For main I then ordered the lentil and squash wellington (which by the way was red inside so I assume it has beetroot in it? It just didnt mention that on the menu) and the wellington was SO small. I would have taken a photo but we were with family and didnt want to make a fuss in front of them as this was the first time we had taken them there for a meal. Not only was my wellington SO small, the plate had TWO small potatoes, ONE long carrot cut in half and a spoon of cabbage. The plate looked empty, it was embarrassing! I believe that the restaurant has cut down drastically on quantities. I would like to hear a comment/feedback from the restaurant manager to assure us that this was a mistake and that something went wrong so that we may try your restaurant again. Otherwise, we don't feel sure about eating here again unfortunately.

Went to The Dorset with my partner, he had the steak, which was under cooked and chewy! I had the steak pie, hardly any meat, very poor. We also had a side of garlic bread, which actually had mould on!!! Made me and my partner feel sick! If they can serve mouldy garlic bread it makes you think what else do they serve! The staff were useless, waited to get our drink order taken, just poor!

The fish and chips were the best I have eaten. The house salad.. although it sounds boring, was delicious.. had cauliflower and sweet sauce.. divine!

My best friend booked this restaurant for her wedding as she had eaten here before and enjoyed the food, with only 16 guests this wasn’t a problem, then the venue decided there was a problem, they couldn’t guarantee us all sitting together, after another visit to the venue we ( myself and the bride to be) walked out confident that everything was sorted or so we thought, the confirmation of what had been spoken about hadn’t come through by day 5 so a phone call was made, only to be told they had changed their minds and wanted to put the guests into separate booths, what a fiasco, my friend asked for a refund and cancelled the booking, she now has a venue that has guaranteed us all sitting together and the food is just as good. Needless to say they have missed out on a lot of revenue and made what should have been a customers planning for her special day stressful.

Amazing food and excellent service from staff. It's not cheap but you get quality food and drinks for the price you pay. Good for Vegetarians and if you have a food allergy the staff will go above and beyond for you.

First time coming here for food, very relaxing inside with great decor and calming tunes. service is top class and so is the food. Had chicken burger with onion rings and partner had chicken breast with sourdough bread. We’re both highly delighted with the quality of both the food and the service. Will definitely return here again.

Visited for dinner on Saturday night. Ordered Gammon and would not recommend. Gammon was under cooked, so pale, it almost looked rare and the fried egg was all grey inside - not an appealing or appetising dish at all. The side of onion rings were also deep fried, super greasy & overcooked. Overall we didn't enjoy our meal here at all. We advised our waitress we weren't happy with the gammon dish who took my plate over to the manager. We watched the waitress, the manager and the chef all looking at the dish, but then the waitress just came over and gave us the bill. The manager looked over at us but didn't even bother to address the issue or even just come over to apologise it wasn't to our liking. We hadn't asked for any money off the bill, but the sheer fact that the manager couldn't even acknowledge the poor food, was appalling. Incredibly poor management, that has made us not wish to return. To make it worse, the waitress said we could leave feedback on there handheld device. Conveniently, every dish (including our drinks) were listed on here apart from the gammon dish we wanted to feedback on. I asked the waitress why this was missing, and she again went back over to the manager to ask. She came back and said we don't know why its not listed. APPALLING!

The service from the young waiter and waitress was great, the chefs put their heart and soul into the food, you can see that. Hot food, tasty, fresh and well presented. The veggie wellington is SO nice! We really enjoying having meals here, please keep up the good work and we will keep on comimg!

My wife and I took a Sicilian friend for her first visit. All the dishes were well prepared and tasty, and the experienced was made better by the first class service of Dean, the Assistant Manager, who was very kind and helpfull. Thanks Dean !

Disappointing food & service. We were prepared to overlook that the Roast beef on my DDs dinner was dried out like it had been sat on the side all afternoon. But then all the veg & potatoes on my meal were all but raw. Was offered to wait for more to be cooked but declined as I would have been eating by myself by the time that turned up. Requested a bit of discount instead and was offered £1.50 off. Frankly nothing short of an insult but at least we now know our value as regular customers! Thanks for that.

Food is great here, wings and ribs starters were the highlight for me. Got the burger for mains, bit overdone but the food overall was great. The cocktails are made fresh and are very good, would highly recommend this place.

Went with a colleague for dinner following a long day at work, service was great, food was excellent. Would certainly recommend it.

I have no grievance regarding the food, or the service of the very polite waitress (from Ukraine), but at 5pm, when the restaurant was relatively empty, my friend (who uses a zimmer frame for walking purposes) was shown the furthest table (for two) away (from the toilet) for my friend to manoeuvre towards. We asked to be nearer to the facilities, but were denied. My friend who has just the one leg, holds a Dorset Arms loyalty card, felt disappointed by the poor reception. Dorset, you need to show better understanding and thought for those who need it.

I love this place yes the only down side is drinks ate expensive food out this world

The fixed price menu is great value. Tasty and imaginative food, great portion size, nice service. The place was empty for a Friday lunchtime, I can imagine the evenings are busier, but we didn't mind that as it meant we got served promptly. This is our second time here in a month, we will be back!

Well, we have found the ideal place for a weekday night meal. First visit and it was excellent, quiet but it’s early in the new year. Great decor, good early bird menu and fair at £20 for three courses. Service was good, atmosphere great and the cocktail menu very good. We will be booking soon for a Saturday night, hopefully it’s as good.

Went on New Year's Day, a few hangovers around! Had gin & tonic, which was beautifully served. Comfy seats, spotless loos, pleasant staff. Pub is Important to community, back soon !

Thought we'd try this place even though we live on the other side of Nottingham and we're glad we did. The food was really good and the service was excellent. Be careful, the Chicken wigs are HOT!

Absolutely shocking experience. Staff were rude and we refused to pay for the meal as it was such a bad experience. Service was poor, table wasn’t ready for us and then they forgot to tell us when it was ready. We had to ask twice everytime we wanted anything. Staff were very unattentive and none of them seemed to know what they were doing so we spent our time there waiting for someone to serve us / help us. Coke was flat (even after 3 attempts to pour a proper drink by the bar staff), risotto was inedible - too salty and the mash potatoes were lumpy. Drinks order was incomplete so when I asked again for the drinks the waitress came over and slammed a bottle of water down on the table and smirked at me. I was promised that this would be investigated by the assistant manager, I hope it was as she is bad for business. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.

Food is really good here but the options are a bit limited, lovely place to come and sit outside when the weathers good the dining area is really nice with a elegant feel, staff are always friendly and welcoming.

Went for a few drinks and listened to some live music. Great ambience and staff were friendly especially the table monitors were working like Trojans but still have the time to smile and make you feel welcome. The parking was busy but I did manage to find somewhere. Overall a very pleasant experience. Well done.

Pricey (£5.70 for a pint of Heineken. I get that Neck Oil is over £6 pretty much everywhere). Has more of a family restaurant vibe to it than a pub where you'd go to on a Sunday afternoon, or before a game for a few pints with your mates.

More like a restaurant with a pub than an a pub with grub. Fabulous food, great service and love ly surroundings. This was my first time here and I'll be coming back for sure.

We went for an English breakfast and this did not disappoint. Great service, selection and tasty options.

We had the set menu of 3 courses for 20 pounds each. Each course was lovely. It's a really cosy but modern pub. It's one of the nicest pubs I've been to in the area. Totally recommend it.

Went for a family meal with 11 of us waited too long for meals to come out then one meal hadn't been ordered, when the pub wasn't busy. Ordered a halloumi burger and got halloumi fingers on a brioche bun very disappointing!! Very expensive and over priced shall not be returning!!

10/10 food, especially the sweet potato fries. A little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for!

Popped in by the off chance as I had an hour and a half to spare early morning and I was not disappointed. I was greeted by a lovely, friendly, smiley waitress who seated me straight away. Coffee was nice and there was no rush for me to move on. I was checked on regularly. Music was great in the background, not too loud and environment lovely. A really nice visit. I'll be returning.

Nice place, plush seating and good service but £70 for 5 breakfasts…that was too much. The food was good, don’t get me wrong. Looking at the menu it was around £6 for a bacon cob…who’s paying that? £11 for a medium sized full fry up is steep and as others have said, no black pudding. Mushroom was an oil sponge but that’s often something I’ve found to be the case.

1st visit while waiting for a curry being cooked. Nice pint of Guinness and pleasant atmosphere,

Had a lovely lunch at Dorset arms. I had healthy salad with fish goujons. My husband had skate perfectly cooked .service great. Very cosy decor. Will be back.

Great service but if you're going to charge £11 for a fry-up breakfast, please ensure that black pudding is included. The brown sauce provided is superb but, in the days of environmental awareness, could it not be served in a reusable bottle rather than sachets?

It was lovely inside, cute decor throughout, tables spaced far enough apart, music playing at the perfect volume. The food and drinks were all delicious and speedily served! Food was well-presented with good portion sizes and the wait staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Cannot find anything bad to say will 100% be coming back!

Not for me, felt like a kids creche kids running about and parents chasing after the kids. Beer was off taste like it been in line to long. Sorry but to me it could be do better.

The Dorset is one of our favourite places to eat. We've dined there for breakfasts and evening meals on numerous occasions.

Impromptu visit to The Dorset When we arrived it was extremely busy and we were very lucky to get the last available table considering we hadn’t booked Service was brilliant shown to our seats and given a menu a few moments later our drink order was taken and speedily delivered our food order was then took the food was delivered hot and lovely I had the Sunday Topside Beef which I thoroughly enjoyed couldn’t finish it all good job my husband was there as he finished it for me He had the chicken from the stove with dauphinois potatoes and a creamy Mushroom sauce and green beans he said it was the best meal he had ever had put at a restaurant Please pass our compliments to the chef We could see that the staff were excellent even with the restaurant full the service was immaculate Will definitely visit again Many thanks

I first visited The Dorset a few Sunday's ago when my family came to visit. We were orignially set to go eat at another restuarant nearby but was recommended to try The Dorset instead and can understand why! Food and drink was excellent and without breaking the bank which is always great; despite us eating towards the late afternoon/evening the atmosphere at the restuarant was also really nice. The staff are fantastic, really friendly and are always on hand if you need anything further. Would highly recommend.

Very nice evening with the family, Great beer (neck oil) and really good atmosphere, Burger was well a burger, well cooked and tasty, only thing that let it down was my lady's food somehow got forgotten and came out 15 mins after everyone else's which was a little disappointing but these things happen, will definitely try here again for sure

Very lucky to have such a good pub/restaurant on our doorstep. We visit regularly for drinks and food and it’s always excellent. Shannon and her team work so hard and we are v grateful to them for making our local popular again. On Boxing Day we took our family there and they were full of compliments about the food and service. Cannot fault the place and cannot recommend it highly enough.
