A firm favourite of mine. Excellent food and friendly service makes this a pleasure to keep coming back

Very enjoyable evening with great food and service in a very relaxing and comfortable environment.

I went for a meal in late March and the meal was disappointing. The white wine was served at room temperature and the chicken was dry, as well as the potatoes being incorrect (roast instead of confit). This was brought to the attention of the waitress at the time, the issues were not addressed nor resolved. I sent an email detailing the issues I faced, and there has been no response two week's later.

Met an old University friend. It was the first time we'd met in 16 years!! We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance in the restaurant which allowed us to talk and hear each other without lots of background noise. She was suitably impressed with the whole "Cote" experience too. We enjoyed a cocktail to start, followed by the Prix Fixe menu for our first two courses - just the right amount of food. Sadly, the chocolate mousse was sold out, but the lovely waiter suggested we try the main menu. It was a perfect end to a perfect meal. Many thanks

I walked in for breakfast with a very large suitcase, and there were plenty of available tables on street level. The waitress tried to show me to a table up some stairs. I asked if I could sit in the corner as I had a suitcase and couldn't lift up the few steps. She appeared annoyed at my request and reluctantly gave me a table. She walked off, never seen again to take my order. This is the worst Cote I've been in, and I've been in loads. There was a French lady she was nice and a gentleman, he was polite. I wouldn't go to this branch again. I should have walked out and gone to Maravi across the road.

Great all round experience and excellent pre cursor to attending any show in Bournemouth

Came here last Friday with 10 friends to celebrate my birthday. Had a fabulous evening. Food was excellent and so was the house wine - as well as being great value. Bearing in mind there were 11 of us, service was spot on with all the food arriving at the same time. We all had a really great evening. Thank you x

Crab maison and mushroom bourguinon were fantastic.

Booked for two the previous day. Arrived 6.15. The menu had been changed that day, which we'd been told, but assured the fish would be on the menu. Restaurant very busy with pre-theatre diners - no fish, no salad as advertised. Pancakes fir dessert very poor

A beautiful place with incredible food. The mushroom bourguignon is to die for! There may not be many veggie/vegan options but the ones they do have are great. We were served by such a friendly waiter who was so helpful and she just made the evening even better.

Hi Côte! My wife and I eat the Mother’s Day special. Can’t find it on the list but it was incredible!!! Soooo delicious!! Everything cooked to perfection Your friendly waiter and waitress made us both feel comfortable and accepted and the atmosphere was a delight! We will be coming back!

horrible!! very bad experience with staff especially a young “lady” lily (i think her name was anyway) she served me and didn’t give me the right order, i tried to get her attention in which i made eye contact with her and she ignored me when i asked her to come over. A supervisor (i presume) a tall bold man saw this and didn’t order his staff appropriately. i have never come across a restaurant that doesn’t come to the customer asking if everything is correct with the food. I never usually complain but the state of this place was vile!!! Especially with the price i paid for my food i expect a good service. overall bad experience and lack of organisation or manners in the work place!! DO NOT recommend.

My recent experience at Côte Bournemouth was nothing short of appalling, and I feel compelled to communicate my profound dissatisfaction. While the initial server attempted friendliness, the overall experience was grotesquely tainted by the managerial staff's reprehensible conduct. Their pervasive judgmental stares created an atmosphere so unwelcome that it bordered on hostility, leaving an indelibly negative impression. The mediocrity of the food pales in comparison to the glaring issues with staff friendliness. The inconsistency, excluding the initial server, and the overall unpleasant ambiance have left me utterly dismayed. Even in a hypothetical world where resources are abundant, a return to Côte Bournemouth would be inconceivable. This review serves as an unequivocal call for immediate action. Management must urgently address the deplorable conduct of the staff and institute drastic changes to salvage any semblance of a positive dining experience. Anything less would be a disservice to your patrons.

A really lovely environment, great food and great staff who were all very accommodating and polite, they even put out a little birthday banner. We went there for a birthday meal and was amazed by the flavours, quality of food and service. It's easy to book online which I would recommend doing prior. I definitely recommend Cote to others to try.

It was my second time at this branch of Cote and it was lovely. The staff were friendly and attentions despite being short staffed. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back next time we’re over in Bournemouth

Warm welcome for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We weren't offered any drinks when sat down (and we heard tables being offered when they were sat down around us) The order for our breakfast wasn't taken for a long time and we considered walking out. We ordered Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale. The hollandaise sauce and ham was delicious, the poached eggs had slightly undercooked white, but were still edible...just. The muffins could have done with more toasting and the whole thing was a little on the cold side.

A fab visit for my birthday. Fantastic food and ace service. The Tartiflette and the cheese board were Spot on. Thank you for a fab Sunday afternoon.

I had never been to a French restaurant before.... But I will be going again!! 🥰 It is a beautiful establishment with very friendly yet professional staff. The food was absolutely stunning we originally went here for the Christmas menu but the Sunday menu ended up sounding so good we chose this option instead. The pork was just sensational and I think the best chicken cooked for me to date....and the steak was pretty damn good too, all with accompanying sauces which were delicious. The merlot was also a nice touch 🍷🍷

Nice restaurant in a good location. Not quite as nice as the one in Covent Garden but still good. The food was delicious and reasonably priced although portion sizes are a little small in my opinion. I will visit again no doubt.

From the moment of arrival with the door held open so My wife, who uses walking sticks & I in my wheelchair could access the restaurant, to the perfect table for the wheelchair to paying the bill we were made to feel special & cherished through the whole experience & being our favourite restaurant will be returning

The service was as good as we experienced previously. However the food wasn't up to the same standard and I was disappointed. Starter was fine main course was overcooked and dry. Desert was acceptable. .

Shame it’s gone the way of being made elsewhere and brought in to be heated up

Brilliant atmosphere, lovely friendly staff, great food. Dined x3 consecutive nights because we enjoyed each evening so much. Particular thanks to Stefan for being so professional and friendly and to Vivienne for being to sweet and keen to do a good job. Well done to both and to all the staff (including the chefs) - a credit to the management.

I don't want to give the restaurant a 2 star as wasn't awful. It was disappointing and underwhelming. For the price of £50 each it wasn't value for money. I've veen to the Dorchester Cotes many times in the past and this is the 3rd time I've been to the Bournemouth branch. The first rime was amazing last time not so good and this time poor. Cotes is supposed to be a premium restaurant but there is something missing here.

An Excellent restaurant and wonderful atmosphere. Rosie is fantastic, the best front of house person I have ever met. She is a credit to the restaurant. Fabulous food and drink.

Attend a special Beaujolais evening . Bottle of Wine and Charcuterie for 2 . Price £48.99. Not great value for money , wine was excellent but Charcuterie platter was not really enough for one person let alone two

Excellent dinner. The delightful Pat was looking after us, and she was superb. Saturday evening a concert at The Pavilion, so very busy, but nothing was too much trouble. Excellent service, excellent food (and wine) great value, above and beyond service when you want dessert and realise you don't have your reading glasses and a delightful young man happily reads the menu to us!!! Will definitely return when next in Bournemouth.

The food is always good, but having Kieran as our waiter with his warmth & humour made the experience extra special.

I am generally fond of Côtes. We visit the Salisbury branch a lot! This one I would personally avoid. Maybe it was bad luck on our part but the place really lacked atmosphere. Our server did his best and was friendly (despite a manager hovering behind him looking over his shoulder) but the food took a very long time to come despite the restaurant being very quiet. The waiter was not very attentive, in that he didn't come back to check if we needed more drinks. It seemed like they were cleaning up around us. We were by the kitchen door and there were KPs walking in and out with bags of rubbish. When I asked a different server for the bill it never showed up and I had to ask again. The food itself was fine - the same as always, as you'd expect. Overall though, the experience didn't compare well to other branches I've been to.

Superb from start to finish. We were warmly greeted and had a fantastic 3 course meal.

We have eaten at Cotes now on a number of occasions, and it always gets better on every visit. For Bournemouth we rate this as the best restaurant, for classic French cuisine, ambience and service.

Dined here last Friday with BHSocials group- the food was absolutely delicious. I had the sea bream which was cooked perfectly and everybody praised their food whether it was the steak, chicken or fish pie. The waiting staff were attentive and helpful - they even rushed to trim up our table when they realised it was someone’s birthday. Definitely be having a return visit

Lovely place to celebrate a friend's birthday

I have visited Many Cote Restaurants especially in and around London, Kensington without doubt the Jewel in the Crown. Visited Bournemouth for the first time. Service was very slow, Atmosphere OK, but Food very disappointing. Ordered a Steak Medium Rare, came as Very Medium, quality of Cut very disappointing, cut was full of grissle, fat, very hard to cut through even with a, Steak Knive. Sent it back and replacement came much smaller steak cooked Blue/Rare and again very sinew in meet. Perhaps I was just unlucky that night but meat quality was not there. Will try it again sometime and will post again.

First visit for lunch today with family. We received a warm welcome and smooth service. The food was excellent. I had tuna nicoise, which was a level above the normal, but at a very reasonable price. Recommended and will return.

This branch benefits from a great team well managed. They were busier than expected early evening yesterday but everyone pulled together so we had a good meal and a pleasant experience. We enjoyed the food and had a good time.

I wouldn't have picked this place myself but my wife seemed to like it. The staff were friendly and helpful but i wasn't particularly impressed with my food. However, that was probably down to personal taste rather than anything wrong with the food.

For a chain it has a good menu and the food was nice. Main complaint: adding an “optional” gratuity of 12.5% £10…Furthermore when coming to pay the bill automatically adding it as the total without checking first. We’re heading in the same direction as the US. £80 for a dinner for two is a lot for a chain dinner.
