Oh no Cote, what's happened?! I normally love their dinners but Saturday night 8pm at the Wardour St branch, 4 dishes had already sold out, the only vegetarian dish left was a fake meat one (if you're vegetarian you're not necessarily looking for one that tastes like meat), and the beef bourgignon had huge dollops of fat we had to send back. The staff were kind but obviously embarrassed.

Made a reservation for 31 December 2023. Waited 45 minutes for table. Did not receive service or starters for 2 hours (ie 10pm) Getting any assistance was almost impossible. Together with many other tables around us walked out at 11:30pm (booking was 8pm). Best thing for the restaurant…close down. Ended having our New Years dinner at McDonalds (served by friendly staff within 3 minutes). Missed all fireworks for New Year.

we went to this cote brasserie several time in the past and the food offer was always acceptable but what they do now is just inexplicable bad. a dish as a croque monsieur advertise looked more like 4 slices of baguette put together and dry the egg on the top to do a croque madame looked like in the b'fast bun from Mc Donald. the seabass , bland the skin was not even crispy , the courgettes raw and the all dish swimming in water this dish was just appalling. we always have been regulars in this chain and it was by far the worse meal ever. this was for sure our last visit in this chain

Good service and very nice breakfast . Reasonably priced for London. We had croque modem, avocado toast, pot of tea and a coffee. Good selection on menu. Would go back

Disappointing dinner experience at Cote Brasserie in Wardour Street. To start with, the whitebait was very good as was the cote-du-rhone wine. After that it was all downhill. The seabass was small, overcooked and didn’t taste nice. The potatoes and peas were undercooked (how do you do that?) The rib-eye steak should have been medium-rare but it was medium to well-cooked; the pepper sauce didn’t taste of pepper. The service was slow even thought the restaurant wasn’t very full. We had to ask twice for water. The bill payment took too long as we were going to the theatre. This experience is unusual for Cote - the ones in Sloane Square and Teddington and Richmond are much, much better.

At the suggestion of one of our party of four (plus baby) who had recently been to Aubaine in Selfridges we went to this Hampstead restaurant for breakfast on a cold but clear Saturday morning in early October. After having walked from Euston station into Hampstead we were ready for a good breakfast. Walked in off the street not having made a reservation where we were seated downstairs directly under the stairs (we had a child & buggy) and after looking at the menu and wishing we’d gone next door to Cote Brasserie we gave our orders to the waitress. Scrambled egg and salmon £8.00 (came with 1 piece of cold rock hard toasted bread with no butter or spread offered-maybe that’s the French way? two cherry tomatoes and curly kale), pot of tea £2.95, 2x formule sante £12.00 each (poached egg with avocado on seeded toast) one with fresh orange juice, one with a pot of tea, one pain au raisin £2.50 and one bottle of evian water (750ml) £4.00. We asked that one of the poached eggs be well done and when the food arrived the waitress said she couldn’t remember which was which but she could go back to the kitchen and ask but we declined this offer thinking we’d soon learn ourselves, well we did as they were both well done with one being more well done than the other making it more hard boiled than poached and did I mention my rock hard toast? All looked good (see my photo’s) and to be fair the scrambled egg , salmon and curly kale were fine but the rest was a poor do. Tea was nice as was the orange juice but you can‘t really mess that up. The total bill was £41.45 plus the norm (for Hampstead at any rate) service charge of 12.5% adding another £5.18 giving us a grand total of £46.63 for what was essentially three plates of egg, a bun and a couple of drinks. I had been thinking of trying this place for lunch or dinner but this experience of breakfast has put me off. I'm being generous with my overall rating of a three because it really falls between two and three.

We tried several of the Signature cocktails and they were incredible— some sweet, some savory. David is a genius mixologist! Highly recommended the ‘Total Waste’ and the ‘Tomatoni’. Staff were very attentive and the bar has a chill atmosphere.
