Cote Bistro - Liverpool in Liverpool

I am appalled by the service I had today in my own city, I brought a friend with me as I said I’ve never been to the one here but I love the ones in London and how wrong I was when I said “it will be great” Absolutely terrible, discrimination if I must say was definitely behind both peoples attitudes. I’ll start from walking into the place, the male manger who greeted us wasn’t welcoming at all with no smile on his face plus didn’t even greet us we had to wait in an unbusy restaurant for about 5 minutes to be seated when he eventually bothered to come over he shown us two seats and left bluntly. Starters. Took 23 minutes, we ordered bread an butter in what context does that take over 5 minutes to come also the bread came an we were forced to eat it on the table as plates wasn’t provided until i actually realised and asked again the male manager so obnoxiously looked at us and scuffed under his breath to get small plates. Mains. Ordered the steak baguette i previously asked for just steak and lettuce which i think is quite simple both mains come and both where wrong - the woman manager come over, the woman manager was unbelievably unpleasant I was ultimately took back by her ill-manner towards us. I’m unsure why I was treated this way but I am disgusted by this.

Always come here nd love the service but the menu this time really wasn’t up to much, Duck on toast with mustard for stater really wasn’t nice and as for the beef bougniuon had a load of smoky bacon in which left a terrible taste on my mouth the rest of the night I really don’t think I’ll be back any time soon after this visit Please revise the menu cote

Somos grandes fans de Cote, así que siempre trata de ir a uno cuando estamos en un pueblo con uno! Sabemos que tenemos garantizada buena comida y servicio. Fui a almorzar, no demasiado ocupado. La comida era habitual estándar de Cote. Lamentablemente el servicio podría hacer con un poco de ajuste - no desagradable solo un poco al azar - olvidarse de Cutler, nos apresuró a pagar la cuenta a pesar de que había un montón de opciones. Así que tal vez necesita un poco de maduración en el servicio, pero probablemente visitaría de nuevo debido a la comida.

I was hosted by Donna , she was so welcoming and polite made our experience 10x better and the food was great as well, I loved the duck and calamari.

Was staying in Liverpool for my husbands birthday, so we chose Cote as we love the food. Arrived to a friendly and warm welcome,and a complimentary glass of fizz. Food was delicious as always. Service throughout the evening could not fault , Jessica and her team who served us were fab! Friendly and professional!

I have to say rarely do you find a waitress in the service industry who gives attention to detail, is attentive , genuinely listens to the customer and gives a high level service accordingly. Believe me I am high maintenance and hard to please but this lady Olivia did an outstanding job in listening to my needs and adapting accordingly. Because of her recommendations we spent more and we will definitely be back. Delightful service and a most enjoyable restaurant with soothing music. Well Done!!!

Really slow service and the food was terrible. Mussels cold, Soup Luke warm, steak over cooked and everything else pretty much inedible. In fairness to our waiter he did remove a few dishes from the menu. Never again

This was booked for my 80th Birthday lunch with my family. We had a wonderful welcome with a birthday banner on the wall, decorated table, and a card signed by the staff. Then we were given a complimentary bottle of champagne which was a lovely surprise. The service was good, and staff were attentive . The food was delicious, particularly mentioning my meal of French onion soup, followed by Duck, which was crisp and succulent. I am just looking for another occasion for us to return.

A pleasant breakfast, well-served. We enjoyed the orange juice and then had smoked salmon two poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce on a lightly toasted muffin. And hot plates make such a difference, thank you. My wife had tea and I the coffee, both good. Such a pleasant start that we looked in for tea on the way back later in the day - still good - thank you.

A beautiful setting,and the atmosphere was outstanding. The service was excellent and I would especially point out that Donna the GM was exemplary in her role and that nothing was left out. 5 stars. I can't wait to go again this week with friends.

We were in Liverpool for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday, and had dinner at Cote on the Sunday night. The whitebait and the mushroom cassoulet were both fabulous and we were given a lovely glass of Cremant de Bourgogne for my birthday. We had a lovely chat with the waitress about the fascinating history of Ropewalks - the area where we were staying. Special thanks to the lovely waitress and manager who found a space for us in spite of a mix-up with our booking.

Very disappointing experience. We wanted pate starter which wasn't available so we went for camebert which tasted like cheddar cheese. I went for the chicken and mushroom main. It was luke warm and asked for it to be heated. When it came back I ate a few bites and realised it was completely raw in the middle!. My sister got mackerel with mashed potato(which was lumpy and bland). The staff offered me another meal which I refused. So they didn't charge us for what we did receive. The staff are lovely, it's a nice dining place but unfortunately for us not a good experience.

Great food (beef bougignon and salmon) but restaurant itself is not particularly relaxing. We were sat at the table at the back of the room near the toilets and kitchen. Large trays of food were being brought out past us. The waiters are hurried and we waited a long time for our first drinks.

Beautiful sunny day so we decided to sit outside and enjoy the weather. I had Confit Belly Pork that was every bit as good as the waiter (I forgot to ask his name) said. The wine was delicious and properly chilled and all was finished off with Paris-Brest which we tried without and then with the chocolate sauce (on the recommendation of Donna). First class experience, food, wine, service, weather and company. Well worth a visit.

Daniel went above and beyond to help me and my wife have a wonderful evening meal is a great way to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We will give her a complimentary drink which was lovely of them. Highly recommend.

Bad experience. I have already eaten in Cote restaurant which were much better. Here the service is not well organized, the rib eye was too fat . The waitress was really very unpolite.

Absolutely awful do not recommend, manager was so rude, kept saying things under her breath. Made me feel so uncomfortable wouldn’t recommend definitely go somewhere else. Food wasn’t great and took over 45 minutes to come drinks were not worth it get better coffee at Starbucks.

The service from Liv and Danny was brilliant. Beautiful food - the salmon and paris breast was the highlight of our visit.

This visit to Cote was almost a disaster as I discovered there was nothing on the menu that was both gluten and dairy free and the first server informed me that nothing could be adapted. Our intention was to finish our drinks and leave but then Donna, the manager arrived and things changed straight away. With her help a menu choice was adapted and a sauce from another menu item was provided. My meal was lovely - chicken with a red pepper and lemon sauce, which really was fantastic. It could have been so different.

I dont know what has gone wrong with this branch of Cote but our experience toight was awful. Poor food, no table checkbacks, dreaful service. Despite leaving most of the food uneaten we paid the bill and left. Asked to speak to manager but told they were not working today. Noticed the dismissive responses to poor reviews which is probably indicitive of disinterest.

The best steak I ve had for a long time. The Manager, Donna, is a lovely person, with a kind disposition and made our night, along with the rest of her staff.

What has gone wrong with this branch of the great Cote? Food and service was appalling. Had to take cutlery from next table (vacant) for main course and desert as none was brought. Food not hot and generally poor, with most uneaten. No one came to check whether everything was satisfactory. Paid bill and mentioned the poor experience. "Sorry about that" was the only response. Phoned following day and left message for manager but none bother to return call - hence this review.

Ticked the boxes, good food, great service, chilled. My husband and I were looking for a chilled dinner and drinks before heading to the airport for a late flight home. The service was so great and I admired how the team dealt with 2 separate tables that would have tested my patience! I guess you get them sometimes. Table of 7 for breakfast , didn’t find staff particularly welcoming. The food was luke warm, the portions small and the bill was expensive. Staff were not attentive. Didn’t ask if our food was ok or if further drinks were required. Definitely would not return and wouldn’t recommend either.

Champagne Breakfast - Wonderful on all levels. We took our friends out for breakfast to celebrate some wonderful news. On the train their we noticed the champagne breakfast option, so phoned ahead to book it as a surprise. Wonderful attentive service, we couldn't have been looked after better, food, service and of course champagne were all wonderful. Would definitely recommend -THANK YOU again! To the whole team who helped make our time there so special.

We have visited Cote quite a lot but this was the first time we have had such poor service. Started off by not supplying the fixed price menu despite the booking being at 6.30pm. This appears to be a corporate policy as it happens every time we visit ( different branches not just this one). The starter arrived ok, but after that we had to chase everything. Mains, dessert and the bill. The cutlery was dirty as was the gents. Due to the service being poor we asked for the service charge to be removed. This was done without comment. A missed opportunity to ask what went wrong and to apologise. The food was good as usual but this has dented our confidence in the brand.

Its in a great location .Very busy but we had a warm welcome and were seated very quickly.We ate Al a carte as no price fix menu on a Saturday but there was a good selection and reasonably priced it arrived in good time and piping hot.One tiny gripe we asked 3 times before we got any water for the table.That aside I would defnitely recommend a visit
