Beautiful place with delicious breakfast options. Also gluten free

Dropped in for a late lunch with a friend yesterday as we've never dined there before. Two young gentlemen served our table (unfortunately I didn't get their names) and they were both friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious. The smash burger and mozzarella truffle fries took burger and chips to the next level. The surroundings were opulent but quirky. I enjoy an ambience as much as the next person but we dined upstairs and my only, tiny gripe is that it was so dark. My friend is no Kate Moss but I would have liked to have been able to see her lovely smiling face across the table! I left a tip so hopefully they could pop 50p in the meter 😉

When you first walk in the ceiling and walls just keep your eyes mesmerized. Dozens of framed paintings are all over the walls and fringed chandeliers are hanging at the entrance. Lounge chairs and foot stools at the front entrance are part of the bar service. Upstairs and in the back are dining tables and chairs. We had the house beef burger and the Cosy club sandwich. Both were delicious. Very large establishment. I’ve seen babies in strollers and centurions here and everything in between for ages. Reasonable prices. Big place and very loud..echoey!!

This review is purely for Tanya. Attentive, understanding and unreservedly polite. She made a good meal soar to a 5 *. If cosy club see this, she is a gem and needs to be preserved. The other staff overseeing can acclaim this as they were fantastic too. Will return.

Restaurant was fairly quiet when we visited, we enjoyed the food and the service was very good. Really big hats off to the staff for the care taken with people that have severe food allergies, without doubt the most attentive to this issue I've seen in any restaurant I've visited before.

Took a bit of getting the server to u derstand coffee no milk ! Even the American lad understood I didn't want oat milk ......the guy was new so will let him off ......really nice place have been a few times ...Nice when not too busy

We went in for breakfast and coffee. The building feels very spacious and welcoming but as there were a lot of people it was rather loud. A very nice staff member greeted us and seated us at a table and handed us the menu. Got the full English and could not fault it and the coffee was good too

Arguably the most beautiful Cosy Club location, this is a favourite of mine. We dined on a quiet Thursday evening but were given as much enthusiasm as if it were a busy weekend. Soph and Sophie were both professional as much as they were fun: always smiling and attentive. The bar team made us the classic cocktail we requested which wasn’t on the menu, and the service was timed perfectly, giving us a plenty of time to relax and enjoy our evening but not having to wait too long for the food to arrive! My only mark down is that the portions seem to get a little smaller every time I visit a Cosy Club, but they do seem to be putting more emphasis on bolder flavours in the menu which is commendable. Every dish we chose tasted delicious and fresh. Excellent venue, even more excellent food and some of the sunniest, most amazing servers in the business.

Visited twice in two days. Cocktails great on first visit, reasonable selection. Breakfast on second visit was great, though was busy and did have a long (ish) wait between ordering and eating. Would good again.

Found through a Google search when looking for breakfast. It did not disappoint, food super, waitress called Kayla great and the place itself was breath taking.

Very nice chain which differ location to location. Great cocktails and friendly staff who asked if we went for a special occasion. We stopped by on our honeymoon and so got a glass of bubbly !

Visited here for a breakfast with my partner and it was fantastic from start to finish. The service was outstanding and really set the standard on how you look after your customers. Wish I got the young lads name who served us, as he is a real asset to the team and I couldn’t fault him. The food was exceptional and I can’t wait to visit again soon. Thanks for a brilliant experience.

Luke, Luke, Luke.. What a lively chap, moment we sat down from the moment we left he was very attentive, gliding across the restaurant floor with purpose and finesse 😂😂.. He made sure me and my partner were looked after during our stay. He will be a manager of an establishment anytime soon the way he presents himself. Great addition to your staff, and also met Blair too, also a great chap and friendly. We will be back because of Luke. What a cosy place (no pun intended)

Wanted somewhere new as a treat to go with family for brunch, as walked past many a time but never dined in. The staff were super helpful and attentive and were very gracious at giving us time to choose from the menu. The food was delicious and the coffee was just perfect. Really lovely atmosphere and start to the day. Highly recommend. 😊

We were a big party but we could order from the menu on the day. All the food arrived together and was very good.

Although I booked in advance, stating I didn't eat meat....they hadn't recieved delivery of their vegetarian burgers...so ended up with fish cakes, which were obviously delivered in, and at best we're like the peppery ones I had at school. Great venue, and the staff are great...just a shame the food let me down, which was kind of the main reason I want there...hey ho.

This was our third Cozy Club having visited the ones in both Norwich and Cheltenham, which were both excellent. We were very impressed on previous visits with the standard of food and the professionalism of the staff. Our visit to the one in York was no exception. Beautifully furnished inside and plenty of bar staff. Service was quick and friendly. Ws went on a Sunday eveing, restaurant slightly quiet but plenty of ambience. Food and drink excellent, with the prices slightly above average. A few tables are situated outside for guests wanting to dine this way. They also cater very well for those that are gluten free. Would happily recommend

Lovely place with delicious cocktails

A lovely restaurant in the heart of the city. I know it is called the "cosy" club, but a touch brighter on the lighting would've allowed me to see my dinner. Many of the other patrons around us were using their torches on their phones to read the menu!! The food was lovely, and cooked to perfection 👌🏼

A little disappointed with the service I was given. The food and cocktails were delicious, but my server could do with some guidance. Firstly, the nice host sat me at a 4 seater table (I sat alone) and when the server came over she just took away the empty glasses and silverware, ignoring me when I said hello. I thought she must also be a host, but no. She was very nice, I'm not faulting her for that. She checked in on me once. But she proceeded to walk past me at least 5 times when I was clearly finished. It got to a point where I was waiting for her to bring me my bill and clear my plate and she was setting other tables. As a full time Canadian server who works for her tips, I understand how busy a server can get. But all of her tables were either eating or waiting for food, and thr restaurant was not packed. I truly felt like she was ignoring me. In the end, another male server came and took away my plate and billed me after I stood up to walk towards the bar to just get my check to leave. The other server was kind and he did make up for it but I waited at least 15 minutes for her to come and she never did. For such a beautiful restaurant, I did expect at least average service which I did not receive.

Beautifully Stunning place - we nipped in for a drink in the afternoon and ended up staying for a few hours, ordering some plates of tapas and watching the world go by. Gorgeous venue with comfy chairs, great drinks and the food was excellent - especially the arincini! Delicious!

We had a lovely meal here, and I will definitely be back when I’m in York again. I had the sea bass and it was excellent. The atmosphere was great, and the staff really attentive.

We had breakfast here and it was fantastic. I had the chorizo hash and my partner had the traditional breakfast. We would highly recommend both! Tanya was our server and she was brilliant, so attentive and welcoming. She gave us some recommendations for breakfast dishes and made sure we was happy throughout. The atmosphere is lovely, definitely recommend this place !

Excellent service, said we had to leave with 50 minutes and just wanted a few starters. Service team was outstanding having us out the door in 30 minutes on a Saturday night. Outstanding food and service, highly recommended.

A great place despite being a bit noisy but we sat upstairs which was quieter and more comfortable. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend 1 adult and 2 granddaughters 11 and 13 ( Essentially eat like 2 adults!)

We visited the York Cosy Club on 13th August, our server was Tanya who could not have been more pleasant, helpful and professional she was an absolute credit to your organisation. The food was superb and as usual the ambience was lovely.

It was incredibly loud in the dining area, which made the atmosphere feel the opposite of cosy, unfortunately. The food was alright, but too expensive for what it was. The service was good, no complaints.

Great place and speedy service, slightly ruined by being sat near the back by the kitchen serving hatch. Especially when we could have sat in other places as booked and the place was not full.

Wow came for cocktails and undecided so the young lady assistant manager made recommendations So we went with her to have her recommendation and cocktails were amazing Great service and attentive staff Would highly recommend for a chilled down bar on a Sunday night

Myself and my partner came here for some dinner as we liked the look of the menu and booked a table for that night. We arrived and was informed there would be a 5min wait for our table to be ready and we were invited to go to the bar to wait which didn't take long until our table was ready. I had the black truffle and ricotta ravioli which was absolutely delicious and the garlic bread was amazing, so much so I had no room for dessert! The front and back of house staff are impeccable, to begin with there were only 2 people preparing drinks at the bar and they never seemed to stop during our time there, making sure all customers were well watered. The servers worked efficiently and made sure all tables were well looked after and ensured each customer had a dinner to remember. The back of house team also making sure that all our food was prepared perfectly and in good timing. Amazing work! The atmosphere can get loud especially with multiple conversations happening at once and the speakers trying to match the loudness level so be aware of that if you are sensitive to loud places and noise. However the décor is unique and really calls back to the building's original purpose. Thank you for a lovely dinner Cosy Club, York team! Each and every one of you.

We were a large group and all enjoyed our meals. The staff were friendly and helpful. All the food arrived together which was very good considering there were 19 of us.

Disappointed with meal size, certainly didn't feel full afterwards. Won't be going back any time soon, sorry.

Was supposed to write about this last year (oops). Came in for our 4 year anniversary and we were served by Lewis, and he was absolutely fantastic, lovely lad. The food was super yummy, as usual too. The music was super loud but i think that was the only negative. Thank you so much :•)

Fairly chill vibes and was nice with bifolding door front feels. Probably better on a Friday night this one. It's got upmarket weatherspoons vibes. Ordered coffee, 3 of them were cold. Don't think the dude operating the machine had a Scooby Doo to be honest but hey ho.

Too noisy, seating, need to be a contorsionist to get out from behind the tables on the upstairs seating. Drink prices extortionate. Too dark. Staff grafters. This was an invite for a birthday party, so some of the below categories do not apply, and I am 77 so my tastes probably do not apply today.

Had the burgers which were surprising and delicious. Service was impeccable and not too pushy.

Me and my 4 year old came here for breakfast as there was a queue at the place opposite where had wanted to go. The food was nice and okay atmosphere. I imagine it has a better feel in the late afternoon or evening… not the best for breakfast.

Booked in for a brunch in York yesterday at very short notice. Given a table and served straight away, All the staff were really friendly and helpful and smiley. Def earned their tip. The brunch was only £25 because it didn't include food - the drinks menu for the brunch was pretty small but the drinks that we ordered were nice and served promptly. The drinks menu provided isn't all included in the brunch so clarify with the server so you're not charged. The food we ordered was a fry up which was huge and really nice. Could do with a more extensive drinks menu for the brunch as it was predominantly spritz but all in all pretty decent brunch.

Always enjoy Cosy Club!! Would definitely enjoy a larger menu however!

Love this place, friendly staff and great drunks.

Our server Tanya was so nice! She bought iced water over straight away which was really nice and attentive because a lot of places dont do that. She checked on us maybe twice to make sure everything was okay. She was just really polite and welcoming. The lighting in there was nice and low, made it a bit more intimate and cosy We got brunch, boyfriend was really happy with his breakfast butty and iced latte and I got the full breakfast. Really nice, really tasty Will definitely be back 😁

Anyone who has been to one of these before will know what to expect from the menu , food was delivered hot and tasted very good ,the staff provided excellent service. A little let down by being quite dark and it did get a little noisy.

This bar/restaraunt looks really good. There is a good drinks selection and a standard meal selection, which is just that. The waiter was very good, polite and attentive. Food was average, nothing to rave about, which is a shame because the surroundings promise so much more. It was expensive for what we had, a standard meal for three with drinks came to £94.30. Nice surroundings, standard food!

This place is amazing. Just go! Fantastic friendly helpful staff, excellent food and with such luxurious beautiful interiors. Just wow to all the sumptuous velvet sofas and curtains and opulent wall colours. It really is the cosiest of clubs. And lots of space to guarantee a seat (always a bonus!). It’s in a prime central york location, and every single member of staff made us feel welcome. I honestly can’t think of one negative. Seriously thank you for making my birthday extra special. Plus a complimentary glass of prosecco. Yesss! Thank you to the whole team

11 of us booked after a recommendation from a friend. It was a great evening spent celebrating 2 birthdays. The staff were so attentive and the food, atmosphere and drinks were all perfect. Food brought at s great pace and was delicious.

We turned up on spec with a very large dog just for a drink. The staff were wonderful and moved comfortable chairs to a table for us. Its was very busy as it is clearly a popular place and they didn't have to go out of thei way to accommodate us. Beautiful interior. Will be back for food some time. Well done

Booked for our family for my wife’s birthday. Although we’ve lived in York for the last 23 years we’ve never eaten here. The atmosphere was good and the service from Sophia was excellent. However, the starters are mistakingly listed as sharing. They’re not! The portion sizes are barely enough for one person. The mains were pretty standard and didn’t have any ‘wow’ factor at all. The pudding I had was listed as a ‘caramel custard tart’ but it was more a caramel cheesecake without the cheese. Overall, the service saved the day, the menu and food flattered to deceive. With so many good eateries in York, it’s unlikely we will go back to the Cosy Club!

Lovely relaxed restaurant in York. Went as part of a larger group of diners, Luke did his best to get the food out to us as smoothly as possible. Nice food, good amounts, bacon a bit overcooked. Definitely would return

The prices have gone up and portion size down so now not great value. Cosy atmosphere but service was slow even though it wasn't busy.

Went for a birthday cocktail, they had no cocktail glasses left, no prosecco for our inclusive shots, no fruit. My friend's came in a coffee cup!! I did say I would only pay for 1, but really not good enough at 6ish on a Saturday evening
