Cosy Club in Cardiff

My partner and I stopped here for a drink yesterday and had no issues. It’s a pretty standard bar to be honest. The decor is nice; it’s always a bit quirky in Cosy Clubs but nothing else stood out. Mid price range for drinks.

We came for food after last visiting at the hospital, and lots of places had closed their kitchens. The Cosy Club was still open. The food was fantastic (we had the steak and the salmon) as were the drinks. Service from Boo was excellent (particularly around my mum being a celiac). Highly recommended

We waited in the bar area for our friends to arrive. We ordered two drinks at te bar and the barman said he would bring them over. Ten minutes later our friends arrived The drinks arrived after another 7 or 8 minutes-almost 20 minutes after we first ordered After we sat at our table a staff member said someone would be overu to take our offer. More than 10 minutes later the original staff member came over as no one had taken our order. We asked for 2 glasses of wine which did not arrive when we asked a second time 2 large glasses arrive-we did not ask for large ones. When it came to to pay the bill no one asked if we were happy If they had I would explained the problems and would not be writing this bad review None of the toilets were in use and it was suggested we went to the public toilets which were’just around the corner’ but we couldn’t find them. I had to ask in another restaurant to use their toilet facilities The food was quite good but oh such a woeful experience otherwise I hate giving any business a poor review. I take great pleasure writing 5 star reviews Sorry Cosy Club Cardiff Bay but you really need to up your game!

My family came here this evening for my birthday, we arrived before our booking but we're sat immediately. Our server, Boo, was perfect! Very attentive from start to finish and gave great suggestions! The food was really great, the only note my StepMum had was the Duck Leg Cassoulet could have had more to the dish for the price. We will definitely return again soon, thanks again, Boo!!

Warm welcome, quick service, good selection on breakfast / brunch menu. Excellent quality - classic breakfast - good portion.

Great spot for a date night. Me and my boyfriend had a lovely evening, great atmosphere and good gluten free selection. Luke took great care of us and had great allergen awareness, and even double checked my menu choices to make sure it was safe for me to eat! Doing so made our evening stress and hassle free, great dining experience! Thank you!

Relatively busy but food was so disappointing. Crayfish starter tasted of red onion and mayonnaise and no crayfish whatsoever! Main I chose was salmon and that was reheated and very poor indeed. It tasted liked a microwave reheated meal. Wouldn’t go again

Really brilliant meal which is becoming harder and harder to find in Wales. Food was stunning and the staff were very attentive. They should smile and interact a little more though to get the 5*’s. That’s all that was missing. We had olives and focaccia bread with the pork belly sharer to start and it was all stunning. For mains we had the dirty chicken burger which was well put together and really tasty and the fish cakes. Again, stunning food.

BEST BREAKFAST EVER! Butchers brunch was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The chorizo beans were the tastiest addition! American pancakes were so light and fluffy, served with the best quality maple syrup. Bo the server was delightful, polite, genuinely interested in making our eating experience perfect. Also loved the quirky vintage decor and the cute flower children’s quotes in the posh toilets. Would recommend both breakfast choices and will certainly return next time we visit Cardiff! Top marks all round

A great little find. Lovely restaurant, with charming decor and relaxed ambience. Friendly, professional staff who looked after us well. Service was very good, welcoming,attentive but low key. After a catastrophic attempt at getting any service at all from the dim staff at the awfully dirty Las Iguanas next door, waking into Cosy Club was a delight. An especially warm welcome, friendly and attentive service, and delicious food served promptly. Perfect steak, really super salmon, and a delicious selection of puddings. Unfortunately loses a point for the loos being entirely closed. I’m not certain it’s legal for licenced premises to operate without toilets and hand washing facilities but even if it is, being directed to ‘the public toilets in the Glee Club’ by a bargirl who assumed I was local and knew where to go was deeply unhelpful. I popped next door to Las Iguanas (they were useful for something then…) On the way back to our hotel we managed to walk past the public toilets Cosy Club is asking customers to use. They close at 10pm, and yet Cosy Club serves until 1am. Are customers expected to cross their legs, or perhaps to sneak into neighbouring restaurants?

Lovely to sit out in the sun at this location. Basic pub grub. Staff 10/10. Good experience. Best thing about the cosy club is the staff and location. The rest is above average.

Really friendly staff to welcome you as you step back in time to the 20's and 30's in this retro fitted restaurant. Not a vast menu but enough to choose from. Great tasting food and not too expensive. Best to book.

As we had family visiting Cardiff with children my wife selected the Cosy Club as being ideal and we were not disappointed. My wife had been to the city centre branch a number of times but never to the Bay branch before. We were not disappointed, the booking was easy and we were warmly welcomed. There is a good range of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks available and they were served quickly. We pondered over what we were going to eat and between us we had a good range of adult dishes (both starters and main courses) and children's portions. Every thing was taste, hot and served with a smile. We would certainly go there again.

Choose this venue for their gluten free menu and we had breakfast one day and dinner the next. I have to say it was a really good experience, on each occasion I was asked if it was just a gluten allergen and the staff member went out of her way to explain the measures in place for preparing and cooking the gluten free food. Food and service was exceptional and I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a really good gluten free menu. Will definately be eating here again when next in the area
