Cosy Club in Cardiff

What an absolute nightmare! Nice greeting and shown to seats. £9 for a small glass of wine. Finally food arrived- kids meal, absolute fine. Club sandwich cold (with piping hot chips), corononarion chicken hot with cold chips! Chips replaced quickly....then I cut into the chicken!! Well, I say cut in, I had to find it first! It was so small and burnt. Called the server (who had replaced the chips) she kind of smiled and muttered something and went to walk off.. ..I asked what was happening and she said she'd get the manager. We then sat and watched 4 members of staff stand and look at the place, then 3 wandered off and stopped again to look at talk. Manager offered a free dessert, I explained we didn't have time and said we wouldn't be paying for the small burnt chicken meal and wanted at least 10% off. Personally, given the poor food and service they probably should have given the whole bill free. Wish we'd gone to spoons- just ordered 2 wines and a pepsi for £9

Bit of a frosty reception if I'm honest. Was really surprised as I go to the one in Cardiff Saint David's and they are so polite/kind there. Felt like they were looking down their noses at us. Was begrudgingly served. Quite upset

We had a fabulous experience at cosy club Cardiff bay. The service was really, very good and the food and drinks were lovely. Really nice friendly atmosphere and we'll definitely be going there again.

Went to dinner with my mum and sister before going to see Wicked. We had such a lovely meal, despite them being very busy, all the staff were so friendly and approachable. They were very careful with my sister's allergy and did not make us feel like a burden for it. Very lovely team working at this cosy club!

Really nice venue, staff friendly and drinks good. Menu was okay, had the brunch. It took a while to come out and was not very warm and small portion for the price.

Table of 4, coffee came out, waited another 10 minutes for tea. 2 peoples food came put, waited another 10 minutes for the other 2, food ok but lukewarm. Don't recommend.

Fabulous food,I had small plates of smoked bacon and pulled croquettes, tenderstem broccoli with yogurt and chemoulah with flatbread. One of the best meals and tastiest I've had for a long while. My friend had buttermilk chicken which was very moist and tasty. Chai latte was lovely. Miso custard tart was out of this world. Definitely one of the best of the loungers in Cardiff for menu. Service was good, long time to clear in between main and dessert though. Will be back!

I go for coffee most days and Boo , Agnes and many other ladies that serve there are fantastic Very welcoming can never do enough Breakfast Eggs Benedict and Royale are always delicious Well done to all there

Recently attended for an evening meal with friends. Although the service is always great, one of our plates was lacking in portion size given its price tag, to which we were thoroughly disappointed! Everyone else’s food was fantastic and we were thrilled.

Nice place for a cocktail, atmosphere was lively and warm inside. Recommend the english garden cocktail, nice and refreshing balance to the alcohol. Funky theme inside

Taking any big groups of people is NOT a recommendation if you were hoping for fresh and tender food as well as a short waiting period between ordering and receiving your meal - Atmosphere got the night setting well.

Food was quite nice, but portion was too small.

Cup size of coffee has been drastically reduced for same price. And people wonder why restaurants are struggling. I for one would notfrequent these establishments. Talk about greed culture.

We love visiting the cosy club, the food is always brilliant and the staff are amazing, super friendly and polite. Even though all the food was great, the highlight was the apple tarte, it's definitely worth the wait whilst it's cooked! Can't wait to return in the near future.

Outstanding in every way. All 14 of us agreed that the ambience, service, food was excellent from arrival to departure. Our son’s 18th birthday is now a very happy memory thanks to the entire team here (they all happily skipped to the kitchen together at one point 😆). We were presented with a complimentary drink upon arrival and the cake we brought was offered to be taken care of whilst we ate (every need was pre-emptied). We weren’t hurried away for the table to be returned after 2 hours. We were all delighted in every way. Our waitress was ‘a class above’; a great ambassador for the venue. Scarlet exuded a calm professionalism in every interaction, she managed our table of 14 with charm and ease, many of us remarked on her measured approach; her capability was ‘the icing on the cake’. The food is tasty to my buds. I enjoy it here more than their branch in City centre.

Ask for a black coffee & got only half a cup , the breakfast was warm not hot like it had been sitting around for bit before being bought to the table

What a treasure. I'd originally booked somewhere else nearby for me and my partner but I had been a bit let down. Made a last minute booking at cosy club and turned up almost immediately afterwards. The front of house staff honestly couldn't have been friendlier or more attentive. Food is delicious (a genuinely good vegan burger - and they were happy to swap the vegan cheese for 'proper' cheese!), decent selection of beers on tap. The decor is absolutely wonderful - the whole place has been fitted out beautifully and has a real atmosphere about it. If you're a vegetarian like me and wondering where to go for dinner when you're in Cardiff bay, I cannot recommend this place enough.

Food lovely disappointing wait for my grandsons sausages and beans

Stopped in for breakfast (9am-11:45am), I had the pancakes. They were lovely! I had the berry pancakes, there’s a lot of berry compote so be sure you like stuff like that before you order them. Service was fast, the staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The pancakes were great and the orange juice is freshly-pressed and amazing (however, you pay £5.70 for the privilege). I’d stop in again!

Just remains a great concept. Wherever you are in the United Kingdom, the quality is always excellent and the service optimal.

A fabulous experience. Staff were all wonderful, very polite and accommodating. Food was served very quickly and was very enjoyable. I love the decor and the seats were so comfy. Unfortunately the toilets were out of order when we visited but hopefully they will be back working soon.

Lovely place for drinks and food. The vibe was great, lovely 20s theme and fantastic cocktails. The strawberry Cosmo was my favourite but we also tried the peach and elderflower spritz and the star martini. Food was a bit hit and miss. The arancini were to die for. Highly recommend. My steak was great, cooked exactly how I asked with good flavour. Fries were also good. Unfortunately the chicken dish was very dry and couldn't finish all of it. The server was very quick to apologize and offered a free dessert which was a nice touch. Great service from him, a tall lad with curly blond hair- friendly, attentive, and quick. We tried the semifreddo and mousse for dessert. Highly recommend both! Will come back next time to try new food and drinks.

Had lunch here on Saturday, couldn't fault it. Lovely food and surroundings. Staff very attentive, made sure we had everything we needed. We are definitely visiting again. Thank you.

Excellent restaurant... lovely food and great atmosphere

Great afternoon. I booked a table for 9 people for 3.30 as it was Sunday. we were lucky it was quiet, so they didn't rush us to our table. the staff were really friendly and the food was great 👍

7 of us came for brunch. We thought we’d booked but it turned out we hadn’t! Luckily the staff were very accommodating and managed to find a table for us. We were asked if anyone had an allergy and when we said one of us did we were allocated a senior member of staff specifically to look after them! None of us had ever experienced this high level of customer care before and it was extremely impressive! We all enjoyed our meals, particularly those that chose the smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and avocado on sourdough . A couple of people weren’t keen on the avocado and pea mint crush which was on the veggie breakfast and seemed a bit out of place as it was cold. The baked beans were also only tepid which was a bit odd as everything else was piping hot and delicious. Really good value for money and excellent customer care. Would definitely return.

Me and my partner were looking forward to a lovely meal at the cosy club in cardiff bay. I pre booked and were shown to our table. Drinks and food order taken which arrived quickly. My partner had Spanish Chicken and he said it was lovely. I had steak and i asked for a medium to well done fillet steak. It arrived and looked fine but when I started eating it I found it to be more than medium to well. It was more like well done. I gave some to my partner to try as we ALWAYS do and he said it was dry too. The waitress came up and asked if everything was OK. I said it was over cooked and she just said "sorry about that, I'll pass it on" . I left the rest of my steak, about half of it. Had desert and then the bill came. I asked the waitress to do something about the steak charge and she said her manager had said it would stand as I had already eaten some of it. She went back to ask and then the manager came over. She had taken £11 ish off to cover what I had eaten and no more wod be done. Over all the meal was nice but the steak was very dry and left me very disappointed.

The best thing about this place was the buttermilk chicken. The food overall was good but this chicken was the best dish.

Had a lovely steak dinner here in a very cosy atmosphere. An initial issue regarding my steak being delivered not as warm as I would have liked, was quickly resolved by the lovely Agnes. A real shining star with customer service apparent to the fore, in her approach to her job. She offered to return both our meals till the wrong was righted although we were happy just to get a fresh steak. Without any prompting a deduction was automatically applied to our bar bill to cover our inconvenience! Both meals we received were absolutely delicious and with very good portion size! Would certainly recommend you give Agnes and her team a try!

The staff are super professional and attentive, food is good, and overall a great place to go for brunch. We went as a group of five and unfortunately my fiancée found two bits of plastic in her food (it was otherwise tasty and well presented). It was likely just a mistake in the kitchen - which happens. The way the staff managed it was commendable. Very apologetic offering a replacement dish. My fiancée wasn’t hungry after eating half of the dish and finding the bits of plastic so the staff removed the price of the dish and her coffee from the final bill. We also felt confident the staff took the situation seriously and would take steps to avoid something like this happening again for future customers - which is all you can ask for. So we definitely recommend and would go back in future. Thanks again to the great staff. Mistakes happen and the way you reacted to it was really spot on 👏🏽

Excellent service Popped in for a light bite and a few drinks late afternoon. From the greeting we received on our arrival to ordering from the bar staff . Everyone was spot on super friendly and welcoming . Nothing was too much trouble . Lovely atmosphere, can’t recommend this place enough. Clearly the management train and promote a great culture within this organisation

Despite being a regular for many years, we won’t be retuning. Spent a fortune the other week, steak was practically rare despite well done, and the service shocking. Immediately followed up complaint via email as we wasn’t happy with response in the restaurant and they never bothered to reply or compensate. Disgusting. Zero customer care!

Amazing service. We went with family and my 9 month old son. He and I both can’t have dairy and he is obviously a new eater so he’s messy! Not only was the kids menu suitable but we were taken care of brilliantly by the manager Agnes who wrote on a menu what I could have so it was clear. All the staff were lovely with us and especially the little one and very good humoured about the mess. The food was great too with good options despite the allergy. I had a delicious steak followed by a dreamy vegan semifredo. Thank you so much Agnes and team we will definitely be back.

Great for drinks. The food is really expensive, but the quality was outstanding tonight. Atmosphere is amazing, and it is lovely for a drink. Service and decor is in line with other Lounges offerings which is typically exceptional.

Went today with my partner and overall was not very impressed with the food. We were also left waiting 40 minutes for it to come and when it finally did the chips I ordered were freezing so I had to send them back. I'd just like to mention there was only about 4 tables of people to serve so it wasn't busy at all. My partner paid 16 pound for a breakfast and it was the smallest breakfast I have ever seen and not even a slice of toast with it for 16 pound is shocking. The eggs were the smallest eggs I have ever seen and it's safe to say we won't be returning.

We enjoyed a delicious meal before going to the JLS concert at Cardiff Castle. Excellent service by all the staff, Elliott looked after us very well and was extremely polite.

Very poor dinner this evening. Regulars to cosy club mermaid quay but very disappointed with tonight’s dinner. Asked for the flat iron steak to be cooked well done, and it was almost rare. Ridiculously expensive for what it was and hardly ate it. Granted the dessert was on the house but I still paid £24 for a steak and chips which I could barely touch. The steak was not a flat iron steak either as advertised, it was a few chunks of skewer type beef. Don’t think we will return, too expensive and the food has gone downhill.

Went in for cocktails so sat at tables by bar Found the young lady making them unfriendly and rude. Think she was upset with another member of staff. We went to bar to order on the 2nd drink was told to sit back down drinks brought over we thought she had forgotten to charge us and went to bar to pay then told sit back down she would bring machine over. 3rd drink took ages to make and people given drinks before us. It was not busy so no reason for the wait.

Very little atmosphere in the place, the food was lacking any flavor and the service was poor and slow. We went for a group booking and they only offer a restricted menu at a high price. Would not recommend at all.

We were at a party and we were only allowed to order from the 2 courses for £25. The portion sizes were pathetic. The starters came out as a platter for 6 that only had 4 portions on. The main meal was child’s size, and the child’s meal was the size of a side plate.

I met three old friends in Cardiff for the day and we had a delicious, long leisurely lunch here. The food was amazing, the service was first class and our day was perfect.

Brilliant breakfast and reasonably priced. The service was also great.

Had a lovely evening & the most amazing, attentive service from Agnes (Agneyzska). We tried most of the small plates, I enjoyed the pork belly most of all and a few cocktails just in time for happy hour. We love this Cozy club & would recommend for a visit if you like good food and a lovely atmosphere. The only thing I’d mention is the portions are dainty in comparison to the last time we visited, we were still quite hungry after 4 plates and 2 sides so will maybe go for a main meal next time as it’s more cost effective.

Didn't like what I had. Very expensive. My grandsons came out thick and horrible. Sent it back. They did sort it. Not my type of food at all

Not often I leave a restaurant feeling hungry, but found the portion sizes disappointing especially for the price. Salmon fillet about the size of two fish fingers. Very noisy inside but pleasant outside. Unlikely to return.

Food is extremely overpriced for what you get. It was my first time here and I was shocked at how sml the meal was for the price. It wasn't filling at all. For this reason, I sadly won't go back. It did have a lovely atmosphere though and staff were friendly. I understand it's probably quality food and all fresh, it was a good dish, not the best I've had but considering I had a small chicken breast with about 4 small potatoes and some spinach and it was nearly £20, I wouldn't go back. Maybe it's because I'm not posh!? I feel you get much bigger and tastier food in lots of other places for cheaper. I didn't even order a drink because the prices were just too high. I

Bit disappointed, honestly. But I want to start off by saying that the wait staff and the manager who came and spoke to us about the issues were all very nice and professional. The issue was in the kitchen. The problems were that it took a very long time to get our food (and the place wasn’t even especially busy) and when our food finally came, it was like it had been sitting around under a heat lamp for a while. It left the food overcooked but also not very warm. For the price they charge, I really would have expected far better. They did make us new plates which were better but one of our table said theirs still wasn’t great but she didn’t want to raise it because we had a show to get to. They gave 10% off the bill which I believe is standard at this place when there’s issues. It’s a shame as this experience has put me off returning.

I couldn't fault the service, food or atmosphere. We didn't book but was found a table immediately, the staff were prompt at service, they never stopped making sure everything was running smoothly. Good value for money, and when we're back in the area, we will be returning.

Absolutely shocking service!! We arrived nearly 2 hours prior to a show starting at WMC and instead of having a leisurely meal, we had to shove the food down our throats. Constantly promised by the stuff food would arrived soon or they acted shocked when saying how long we have waited. Meals arrived 5 minutes before we had to leave. The meals were overpriced with cold hard potatoes and chips left lying in a large bowl being served by the waitress, as they were that far behind on service. Even forgot some of our items, but we couldn’t wait for them, as we were going to miss the start of the show. Staff running around in absolute chaos, tried asking for the bill several times without success. Had to physically go up to the till and wait for our bill and then pay. Only given a laughable discount off our food and did not have to time to question it, as the show was starting. Overall, so disappointed as it ruined that part of our evening. We could not relax and made us feel cheated at what we had to pay for this horrendous meal.

Amazing service, Boo was very thorough when enquiring about our allergies. Once known, she ensured that other staff were aware using a small, subtle allergy sticker on our drinks and food. Visited the Liverpool branch a few years ago, equally impressed with the service. Boo & Amelia were fab. Love the decor and the staff's quirky uniforms; added to the whole experience. Would definitely recommend the black truffle ravioli and the green olives - food really fresh. Cocktails super tasty and moorish, just had to have 2!

Booked in advance of our visit to the Millennium Centre for an evening meal. Atmosphere and setting was lovely. Greeted by a lovely waitress who was very attentive and served us our drinks and meals quickly. Food was delicious and portion size was just right. Plenty of food selection catering for all tastes - would recommend if going to see a show as it’s just round the corner.

My wife chose this venue after our amazing visit to the Galeon Andalusia, moored close by. Our fresh orange juices were lovely but the food to follow wasn’t good. I had a £16 brunch type dish and the only apparent fresh item on my plate was the poached eggs which accompanied two Cumberland Sausages which were overcooked (from yesterday). Two pieces of square and overcooked potato were hard to cut, as the sausages had been. I couldn’t cut through the bread crust either. All in all, a very disappointing experience.

Fantastic customer service, same server throughout, lovely food and a genuinely good experience. The Cosy Club sandwiches are really nice.

Absolutely shocking service, huge delays on food despite the venue being at least 2/3 empty. Some staff were doing their best with what was handed to them but the overall service was awful. Food was cold and no one came to ask if the food was OK. When asked to take certain items off the bill, there was no apology or query as to why - they just went ahead and done it. Wont be returning!

Disappointing. Very limited availability on the evening we visited, and what was available came in ridiculously small portions. The desserts were good but my wife’s sorbet was not much more than a tablespoon. Overall, not good value at all.

A charming restaurant with authentic art deco interiors beautifully decorated with vintage paintings. The staff were charming and very helpful. Delicious brunch.

One of the best breaskfasts in Cardiff, but it's the service that really stands out. Great for kids (breakfast) too. Order extra rossties!

Delicious vegan options here, I did have to make a reservation for dinner time - but our server was fantastic very the recommendations and the food allergies!

Fantastic place tasty food fantastic service. Called in yesterday with my wife and Grandchildren. My five year old Granddaughter had the children's cheese mac which she said was delicious. Will call again. Thanks to the staff for being so professional.

Amazing interior design, as a maximalist person loved it! Food was delicious, I got salmon and truly loved it, staff are nice and friendly, and the service is quick, highly recommended!

Came across this place while staying in Cardiff. I had a fish finger sandwich which was like massive. Hubby had a club sandwich which he thoroughly enjoyed. Afterwards we had two green teas which tasted awesome

I always visit cosy club with my parents before going to see a show in the millennium centre. We tend to have just drinks here and then eat elsewhere as the dining menu isn’t really our taste but I can say that their drinks are really lovely. It’s a nice ambience and the staff are very welcoming and accommodating.

Good food and reasonable prices

Impressed with the staff but sadly the food was disappointing. Kids meal incredibly small (didn’t fill my four year old) and the potato rostis were underwhelming. Otherwise it was okay. Would return for drinks but not to eat!

We had the opportunity to choose the table we preferred given the very large room. The decor is characteristic and the context is very interesting, the staff is quick and attentive. We tried some things ordered on the menu but I must say that the portions were small. The thing that bothered me was their constant request to prepare the bill, while since the place was empty, we could easily remain comfortable and finish our beers. We paid and left.

This bar/restaurant is one of a host of similar establishments at, or near, Mermaid Quay. Old World charm best describes the venue with inside and outside seating, extensive menu and friendly staff. We only stopped for drinks this time round, but we're still taken by the relaxed atmosphere and the very reasonably priced options.

My partner and I stopped here for a drink yesterday and had no issues. It’s a pretty standard bar to be honest. The decor is nice; it’s always a bit quirky in Cosy Clubs but nothing else stood out. Mid price range for drinks.

We came for food after last visiting at the hospital, and lots of places had closed their kitchens. The Cosy Club was still open. The food was fantastic (we had the steak and the salmon) as were the drinks. Service from Boo was excellent (particularly around my mum being a celiac). Highly recommended

Just had breakfast and can recommend the ‘butchers brunch’, everything on it was absolutely unreal. All the meats were cooked to perfection and the chorizo beans to die for. Service was excellent by Beth I think her name was. Would come back again if in the area :)

Great time. Good food. Nice beer. Shout out to Manuel our waiter. Had a great conversation about how much Baileys is in the dessert. Nothing was too much trouble for this bloke. If only other restaurants provided service like this guy. Recommend 100%.
