Cosy Club in Basingstoke and Deane

Met a friend for a meal just before Christmas. We both had steak - she had normal fries, I had sweet potato fries. Even though it was quiet the food took ages to come out; both of our fries were lukewarm, as was her pepper sauce, and the plates were cold. The fries/sauce were replaced but by this time our steaks were lukewarm. We didn't have time to get this resolved as we had a theatre booking. By the end of the meal the steaks were actually cold. Really disappointed as a previous meal there had been great. Waitress was good and said she would pass our complaints on but there was no comeback from anyone.

New Year’s Eve was amazing. The atmosphere was great, busy but not crowded. Staff were all happy, friendly and very efficient. The food was absolutely delicious! We had five courses, coffee, cocktail and bubbles at midnight all included in our package. We had a great time dancing to the fantastic live band too. Fabulous evening 😁

Very calming and cosy atmosphere given that it was practically full for a Saturday lunch time! Service was on point and very organised Food arrived quickly but it wasn't very warm. It was cooked through (cold chicken I tend to check first) just could have been warmer over all. The wine was lovely and overall it's very decently priced. Point off for the food temp though that needs to be worked on. Definitely coming back though.

Rubbish, took too long for them to cook an egg, the guy at the front desk got aggressive when i complained about the food, got in my face and i nearly punched him, never again, McDonald’s does better food for half the price 😠

Quite gutted tbh. We have been a few times and enjoyed the experience. This time I ordered I the wrong food. Being fish Friday I ordered the fish and chips. £19.50 for 11 chips and a small cod fillet swimming in a capper sauce. Absolutely gutted. Other 6 guests seemed happy but mine was cr*p to be honest. I left hungry and did not even photo the food.

Nice decor but a bit of a children’s play area with young children running laps and knocking into people for the entire 45mins I was there. Perhaps targeting that type of clientele or a lack of control from management. Hard to say but couldn’t certainly be better with more organisation and control.

Not a good experience. Arrived here on a Sunday morning, and the restaurant was half full. Despite this, the staff were unfortunately rushed off their feet, clearly frustrated and smashing cups down. I was stood waiting at the bar for quite a while and ultimately never got served, so left and went somewhere else. I don’t recommend this place, they have staffing issues and poor service.

If you’re going to serve bland food it should at least be cheap. Could count the number of grains of rice the sea bass was served with. More attention paid to the decor than the food and service. Save your money.

Food was cold and overpriced. Extra £5 for the Christmas menu as the date nears Christmas is a rip off. £35 for 2 courses of cold food. I wouldn't bother again.

Had a lovely time today. Our waiter was Harrison and we had great service, would recommend! It was my birthday and they made it a special experience.

Lovely chilled and vibrant place to drink and eat. Had very good service from a lovely, friendly member of staff called Cam.. Myself and 3 friends went for lunch and had pre-lunch drinks... Nothing was too much trouble for Cam...We thought he was the manager at first. Food was lovely, great atmosphere!!

Disappointed. Was told it was good by younger people. Nice enough place and decor but it stopped there. Younger people tend to go by looks rather than overall performance. Slow to get drinks. Ordered Ox cheeks ragu with pasta. Three quarters pasta and a little dab of Ragu. When it was put down in front of me I said "is that it?". At nearly £20 I wasn't impressed. Vegetarian meals looked OK, portion wise. Fish and chips... too much cold tartere sauce and cold plate made it not very appetizing. Fish was cold. Shan't return or recommend. Dessert menu lacking.

Can't rate the food, didn't get any. Not particularly busy, wanted some breakfast, seated very quickly and then nothing. Waited 20 mins, no service and the to add insult to injury, 2 guys got seated and got served straight away. Decided to walk out. I told the guy on the front desk who was apologetic but too little too late. Went to Poppins instead, got served with drinks in less than 5 minutes and they were busy, that's what I call service.

Karina was great! Food was good too; we had club sandwiches, broccoli and beans. Great way to celebrate a birthday 🎊🎊🎊🎊

Lovely evening and first evening out with my husband for a while. Shown to our table shortly after our arrival and drinks order taken in good time. Our Waitress was Dee and she was fab. very attentive , friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food was very yummy and wholesome and we will most certainly be back.

Lovely food, went for 4 small plates as a tapas kind of choice. Expensive for what you get, fortunately we are small eaters. Oh I ordered a miso caramel tart and it came out as a salted caramel cheesecake, fine but that's not what I wanted. The apple tart is immense though, definitely recommend. E, the server was amazing and the food came out very promptly. Basingstoke can be hit and miss for restaurants but Cosy club is one of the better ones. 4 small plates and a portion of truffle fries, plus 2 desserts and a £33 bottle of wine was about £85. Will definitely return, have been many times before.

Good food but is overpriced for the small portion sizes. Apparently the lunch food is better.

Harrison made our dining experience unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us with warmth and attentiveness. He was attentive without hovering, always ensuring our drinks were topped up and our table was clean and comfortable. We’ll definitely be coming back, thanks to his outstanding service!

Extremely small portions but the food is delicious, such a shame there was nowhere near enough of it. The service was really slow too. It was super noisy in there. I don't think we'd visit again.

Basingstoke Cosy Club is my favourite, the staff are always so welcoming and professional. Nothing is too much trouble and they always have a smile. The food is delicious, lots of choice and great value. My go to place when I'm in Basingstoke. I've tried other Cody Clubs, but they are no where as good, food etc as the Basingstoke one.

My husband took me for lunch here. Food was so tasty, didn't feel rushed, excellent service and very friendly. Will return again for sure.

The food, both vegan and omnivor, was surprisingly cooked to order from 90% fresh ingredients (I was not expecting that at the price). The novel Victian decor, with a multitude of original period artworks in such a setting, was impressive. Living in France, It was a visit to my 94 year old aunt, who was our guest, we all decided to revisit next time we are in the UK. WELL DONE TEAM! 😀 The most enjoyable experience. First time here as I don't really go out to eat but I absolutely loved the food fish and chips hubby had steak and the place itself. Couldn't fault it one bit also a few laughs with the staff . Harrison was looking after us and he is a credit to this place really lovely so thankyou for a great evening we will be returning very soon 😀

First time to Cozy Club and not sure we will return. Atmosphere good, drinks very expensive ( large red wine £15.20!). Food ok, the small platters (Asian chicken) was ok. With more service orientated staff, better prices than this place has more potential but for what you got, where it is and the service, not sure it’s worth the money.

I came in for food a few days ago with my partner. We hadn't booked however the manager, Patrick, ensured we got a table and looked after us during our whole visit, Speedy, friendly and professional. And the food was amazing Overall great experience, we will be returning again soon.

Sunday morning, and they had no pancakes... none. Things just appeared disorganised and not as per previous experiences at other outlets, We went here on the back of visiting the one in Cardiff, and it was disappointing.

We had a great time. Cam was a great barman, very attentive and remembered our order.thankyou for a fab evening.

Came here for the first time for lunch, and am very glad we did. A very cosy and comfortable restaurant with some great food options. Serving brunch til 4pm essentially means all day breakfast, which is an auto win for me. Service was friendly, food came out quick and prices are very competitive.

We came in yesterday morning for breakfast and had the best experience in a very long time all thanks to i believe he said he was one of the managers his name was Harrison? he was absolutely amazing!! We saw him run around the entire restaurant doing multiple jobs at the same time! he was running food drinks clearing the tables and even helping other staff members all while still taking good care of his tables!! shame we couldn’t say the same about the other staff members that looked like they were clearly struggling with the busy breakfast and lack of support from the other managers… However Harrison had everything under control and delivered one of the best service we received in few years his management skills are absolutely outstanding! Definitely will come back again thanks Harrison! :)

Absolutely awful food and the food portion size is inadequate. Do not bother eating here if you enjoy good food. Atmosphere is good but that's all this restaurant has going for it.

Waitress was extremely rude and openly argued with me when she misheard my request for a house salad and bought out a tiny rocket salad, apparently I was talking with my mouth full and she thought I said rocket. 1. I never speak with my mouthful, 2. I dont like rocket, 3. rule one of service NEVER argue with a customer. The people on the other table were cringing also. Thanks very much whatever your name was as you didn't introduce yourself either, you spoiled my afternoon and food was not great to be perfectly honest. Over priced and tiny portions. Never coming back here.

Friendly staff and stunning good alongside quirky decor in the restaurant characterise this place. Really interesting menu choices that are not usually found elsewhere mean that some thought has to be given to choices. Having a big party allows a range of the small starter dishes to be greedily consumed to delight the taste buds. This is a repeat visit and the food and service never fail. One thing that might be considered though is the decor of the gents loos... Been in many toilets over the last few decades but it's rare to find upper class debs taken from Country Life gracing the walls. I found it a little off putting to be having Princess Anne letting off balloons just over my urinal...

The atmosphere was nice and unique decorations, and food was good. Service was really quick and Harrison was very friendly and helpful

It was our 2 year anniversary, and we were greeted with a free bottle of prosecco which was absolutely delightful, given by what i assume to be the manager on shift, we then were served by a lovely girl with brown hair in a ponytail, in a striped top, and then served by the absolutely lovely Harrison, he was amazing and delivered 5 star service for us, overall amazing experience from all the staff

Venue ok..a bit dark and gloomy, and very loud so with other diners it was hard to hold a conversation. The food was dreadful. Cauliflower curry or prawn curry on the menu, my friend ordered the prawn, curry arrived with a full Cauliflower and 3 prawns that we had to search for! Queried if they got the order right and yes, so after she had eaten (not the Cauliflower) she got 3 extra prawns. Thai sea bass was the smallest piece of fish I've ever seen, with almost raw aubergine and just cooked potatoes...fish and chips also the smallest piece of fish ever served to a paying customer. Asked what was the most filling dessert as dinner was so tiny, staff just laughed...for 19 pounds a main course this was truly shocking and we won't becoming back

Lovely place to eat with great staff, food OK. Vegan burger was nice, my friend had a side salad with her meal and it was tiny! Desert menu could have been better, it was very custard and mousse based.

Stunning food! Absolutely first class food, some of the best sharing plates I’ve ever had . . . and the dessert - oh my! The super friendly and attentive service made for a great evening! We will definitely return!

Cosy club is always nice but the menu has changed over the last few years and isn't nearly as good. The cocktails are still great but the food leaves quite a lot to be desired in my opinion.

Really great meal, and waitress (Farron) was excellent. The Asian chicken and hot honey halloumi starter was amazing, but the fishcakes and sea bass mains were maybe even better. Great restaurant, treated us brilliantly, strongly strongly recommend.

Harrison is great, he has served us a few times and is always efficient and attentive. What a great asset to the the company! Dropped a star cos the bacon with the dirty chicken burger was a little undercooked but that could be a peronal preference. 2 people x 2 main meals, a bottle of reallt good wine, espresso, cointreau and Irish coffee was £80 pretty damn reasonable! One of the best restaurants in Basingstoke. (Irish coffee was really good, sometimes struggle to get a good one, so defo rate them!) Don't forget about Harrison, he is amazing!

Great place for a cosy Lunch/Brunch with friends or family. Food was tasty but I am taking a star due to the bread that was served with the hummus. Looked like a very cheap white bread and very dry - not the best to combine with hummus specially when flat bread can be found in any supermarket these days. Overall really good service and would definitely come back.

Staff and atmosphere was amazing here! All the staff very welcoming. Wasn’t impressed with the salmon fillet though and “coincidentally” after eating here a few hours of the salmon repeating on me I finally had an explosion from the bottom end! Gross! I can’t help but think this salmon played a part. It was over cooked and there was too much pea mint purée. The other party had the cozy beef burger with fries which was delicious and was all gone. In addition…. THE YUMMIEST Miso Caramel custard tart was phenomenal for dessert. Probably give this place another go but def won’t be eating salmon for a while … anywhere!

Went for the 1st time for a birthday meal,recently being diagnosed as a celiac and the staff were so helpful,knowledgeable of the foods and made me feel so secure eating there We will be back !

Water offered on arrival , didn't partake as Glass cracked. The Fish finger Sandwich was poor quality Fish and the Vegan Burger was Lukewarm and contained soggy Tomato and Hard Bun . The only saving grace were the replacement Fries , that had previously arrived greasy and cold . We will not be dining here again.

The best steaks in Basingstoke, a good solid wine list, impeccable and unobtrusive service, restful and friendly atmosphere. My job is to find flaws in restaurants and hotels. On this occasion I was stumped.

Food was pretty good with the stand out dish being the starter pork belly bites. Good selection of non-alcoholic options. Definitely cosy with a nice atmosphere and we were very well looked after by our helpful and friendly waiter Harrison. Thanks!

Cosy Clubs never let you down. The food is good, plenty of good veggie options and the service is brilliant. This is our go-to place in Basingstoke. However, Cosy Clubs are normally not very cosy so sometimes the atmosphere is lacking but it's always busy so you don't always feel it.

Popped into Cosy Club for a pre cinema dinner. Good choice of food on menu I had the sesame salmon and my wife had the vintage cheedar pie. Was looked after by Harrison who provided an excellent service.

Cosy by name cosy by nature. Went for lunch with my wife, and we had the house burger with a cheeky beer. Then, after lunch, we sat in the bar area on the comfy sofa and had a few cocktails 🍸, great afternoon. Good food great service, very nice atmosphere 👌

Yes, been here with my wife and my little boy! Once we arrived at the reception we have been welcoming with smile! Was really busy evening with lots of customers! We been invited to our table and handed over the menus including the Christmas which unfortunately you can't have it if not everyone goes for it, but a la carte was good enough! Quickly we received the high chair and the lovely lady from Poland come over with water and introducing her self. I've seen few managers been running around the place which made you feel looked after! Overall, food and service was really good! Yes, definitely come back for my Cruzcampo! ❤️

Beautiful restaurant for the decor and atmosphere. Cocktails were absolutely delicious and good value. Food was exceptional- hot, freshly cooked and good portions. The waiter Connar looked after us and he was very friendly, efficient and kind. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and we'll back soon!

We went for dinner and were served by Connar. His service was fantastic, friendly, chatty and polite. Food was amazing! We had the pork belly and Asian chicken bites for starter, Spanish chicken and sesame salmon for mains and the apple tart and sticky toffee pudding for mains, and a couple of cocktails. All were delicious! Atmosphere was 10/10. Will definitely be returning. Thank you to Connar for making our evening even more enjoyable.

Understaffed for a Saturday Night. Food is pricey for the quality. Tables should be cleared of old plates and glasses within 2 hours. Nevertheless it was busy and the atmosphere was good

Great food tonight and fantastic service from the tall young lad who was our server. Never had such attentive refills on table water before!

The place is nice, it has a good vibe to it and the staff were very attentive and friendly. But the food, my burger was way over cooked and dry, it was not worth eating to be honest. A great experience but unfortunately let down by an awful burger. I won't be returning.

Dinner with work colleagues visiting from the US. Staff were friendly; we were served by Harrison, who was very efficient. Food and drink arrived pretty quickly and was really tasty - we were all happy! An enjoyable visit.

Lovely atmosphere, good/reasonably priced menu including GF, vegetarian & vegan options - something for everyone. If you are lucky enough to be served by Louise you are in for a treat - her efficient and friendly service made everyone's day.

Visited to celebrate a family birthday. Excellent atmosphere and great quality food and drinks. Staff were very accommodating - I contacted a few hours in advance to ask about bringing a birthday cake and had a response within 20 minutes. Would recommend. First time visit here for our group of 4 the other evening. The decor is superbly Victoriana, the staff modern and trendy. The food and drink was excellent and the service, excellent. An early evening dinner meant the venue wasn't heaving . . . Oh, and it is just a very short walk from the Vue cinema.

We had a fun family meal before heading to a comedy show. We were really sorry that we didn't have any cash on us to tip Harrison... who looked after us really well...so this review is to let his management know what a credit he is to them. Thanks Harrison!

Went for dinner here last night, it was our first visit to the restaurant. I ordered the Buttermilk Chicken & Chips, the meal was ruined before it left the kitchen. Both the chicken and chips were so over seasoned with salt, I couldn’t eat it. All I could taste was salt, it was horrible. I mentioned it to the waiter, to which he replied “I’m sorry to hear that, do you want your dinner put in a takeaway box?” Really? I didn’t get offered an alternative meal or a refund on the meal I didn’t eat! So, I left the restaurant still feeling hungry and £16 lighter having paid for a meal I didn’t have. On leaving the restaurant, the waiter said, “hopefully next time your dinner here won’t be salty.” Trying to be funny when I was already feeling quite frustrated didn’t help matters! You should let customers season their own food and not assume everyone wants a gallon of salt on their dinner!

My sister booked us here for brunch on a Christmas shopping trio,the interior is so fancy like stepping back in time the waitress we had Louise she couldn't do more for us I think she had to be one of the most friendliest and happy waitress I've ever been served by.The plate sizes were on the small sizes food was nice but it did make you feel hungry still,the only disappointing thing about this place was the hot chocolate it looked really nice but had to be one of the worse tasting I've had

Starter turned up with main course so we returned it, everything was overcooked and crunchy, plates were stone cold so food was very quickly, all in all not a pleasant experience

This is usually one of my favourite spots for food/coffee in Basingstoke therefore I was very disappointed when I took a friend with me who was visiting, and the experience was really not great. Our drinks order arrived after the breakfast, the poached eggs were really hard, the coffee was not as good as usual (I didn't even drink it) and my son's cheese was not melted for cheesy beans on toast like it usually is. We were not given a chance to feedback because no member of staff returned to us once the food had been given to us, not even with the spread I had requested for my toast. I hope the quality of food, drinks and service returns to normal next time I visit.

We were blown away! Took the whole family, the food was amazing - very hard to believe it was a chain, the food was that good. The Basingstoke restaurant is absolutely stunning - no idea what the other ones look like but it made you feel as though you were somewhere incredibly special. Would highly recommend it.

Have visited here on a number of occasions. Sat by a very large Xmas group, it was shame they they did not realise and when smaller tables became available away from the group they could have asked if we wanted to move Advocado missing from one of our meals and they did not inform us. When questioned that quickly came back and said the kitchen had run out. Not a good service point. They should already know and either remove the item or tell us when ordering. An offer of a comp drink was offered. But only after we raised the issue. Otherwise the food was good. Service was ok (busy Xmas night)
