Royal Oak in Basingstoke and Deane

Stumbled upon this place whilst passing by and really chuffed. A good proper pub. Nothing fancy, just a nice old skool English pub. Good beer, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and the locals seemed happy to chat too. Bravo.

A simply wonderful atmosphere, the juke box was absolutely dazzling, brilliant choice of music playing full volume all night long! I arrived to the Royal Oak promptly at 8pm. Wasn't sure which pub to visit whilst in Basingstoke, but I met some lively young lads who were playing a friendly game of darts. I ordered a pint of Guinness and was delighted to see it had been poured with the shape of a clover. Perfect temperature, I can just tell it was executed by the bar staff with care, precision and attention to detail. I had a lovely chat with a couple of young lads at the bar, think their names were Joshua and Lewis, fantastic sense of humour they really made my night! Before I knew it, last orders were called and the bell was rung. I will be back again next time I'm visiting my ex wife and daughter in Basingstoke. I had a jolly good night. Hope to see you all again soon!

Friendly Bar staff, Friendly Atmosphere.

Terrible service. Don’t care about their clients. We booked way in advance for a table, then a couple of days before the event they call us saying they can’t give us the table. Ruined our plans, they don’t care, don’t offer a solution and now we are frantically trying to sort something out. Absolutely terrible.

Visited some friends there, on my visit to the south. Amazing staff, great reception and I was made super welcome. Can't fault it.

Lovely pub staff are nice.and a nice relaxing atmosphere.

Goid choice of drinks and a fair choice of foimod. The locals made me welcome, but alas the same can not be said about the landlord/manager who was extremely rude.

Two of us stopped in on the way back from Bournemouth last weekend for a burger and a pint. We both ordered different burgers and they were very tasty and great value. You can build your own burger by choosing the ingredients from a wide choice via a menu on the wall It's very much a locals pub with polite friendly staff.

Getting the bike MOT sorted. Usual cafe closed. Having a coffee and burger whilst I wait. Polite friendly staff - bargain price burger is great quality. Why haven't I done this before?
