Costa Coffee Saltash in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Lovely staff member working at 7am this morning. So helpful on the drive thru. She went above and beyond to ensure my coffee was the right temperature for me, thank you so much, I wish I had got her name.

All I wanted was a small coffee and a pastry. The cafe was empty and staff all focused on the drive through. I double checked that I had not been beamed up, i checked in the glass behind me and yes i was there and visible. I eventually got served after 4mins stood waiting. The saucer and spoon was duly placed on the tray but still no interaction, I was of course competing with the headset conversation that was going on. At last the coffee was crashed onto the saucer spilling some of its contents, I stepped back to avoid the spillage and the server was gone before i could speak. The coffee as always was great but of course as is always the case you get half a cup when you take it black as it should be.

Pleasantly surprised by the lovely hot chocolate (as I don’t like robusta coffee, which is what the use at Costa I believe). They made it just as I like it - less chocolate, so not too sweet. And the plant milk blend in it was lovely. Just one slight gripe in that it took an age to get served, even though there was only one customer in front of us.

Cream they put on had gone off. You could chew it. What makes it worse is I couldn't salvage it by scraping the cream off because it was that gone off there were chunks of gone off cream in the bottom of the drink. I don't have a picture because I was trying to salvage my drink by putting the gone off cream down the sink :-(

Upon arriving to collect the items, I was met with what can only be described as a disgraceful attitude by a member of your staff.

this has to be the worst Costa coffee shop the toilets are filthy the setting area is not cleaned behind the counter the floor is not cleaned i could go on never going to this place ever very poor

There is always an issue with something…dishwasher or a coffee machine or a fridge or something. And the service today was appalling.

Action needs to be taken urgently to address issues here. Been there a few times in last weeks and drive through frequently closed off. Today it was open, then closed then open again within 10 minutes, Yesterday was closed off while queuing to get to work and had to wait ages to be served. Food counters frequently nearly empty of cakes/ croissants etc. Today had no decaf coffe which I need to have and a few weeks ago asked for some toast but they had no butter! No urgency from staff in serving customers and very slow service.

Was waiting in the drive through for 10ish minutes even though it wasn’t busy. There’s never enough staff either, I’m sure they’re great at their jobs but it’s just simply a matter of under staffing.

Coffee okay, but seating area floor and surrounding areas inside cafe were very dirty. Outside area also unclean with cigarette butts thrown on ground around seating and dirty coffee cups left on tables. I did raise a complaint with the manager who could only respond with okay! Costa management should sort this problem and clean this Costa Coffee shop at Saltash without delay as it obviously hasn’t been cleaned for sometime. A disgusting and filthy place that I won’t be visiting again.

I am a regular visitor to the cafe both takeout and sit in as it's on my main route. It's a busy and sometimes hectic cafe which rarely has enough staff. This has a knock on effect as the tables are quite often not cleared and it leads to big queues for service. Both a, regular event. Food selection usually quite poorly stocked. The staff are very friendly and helpful but run of their feet!

Customer service skills none existent. Rubbish on floors, bins and floors filthy. Even though she kept forgetting what I said I wanted (just a mocha to drink in) and had to be reminded twice, I received it in a takeaway paper cup! Won’t rush back.

Love this costa. Great atmosphere as soon as you walk in the store. The staff here work very hard but are knowledgable and skilled about coffee. It is definitely service with a smile. There was a full selection of sandwiches, pastries and cakes on display and even M&S food. Great place to meet with friends, but also an ideal working space. Love this Costa

Young girl making coffee looked very hot.Great coffees but lots of water and ice on the floor behind counter making it dangerous for staff.Opened bread left out and lots of tables needed clearing.All young girls working. Cant fault the coffee though.

Not much to say , normal service you expect , no Que even better , staff chatty and helpful , would use again.

When we heard Costa was opening in Saltash we were really excited. As a fan of Costa coffee we were looking forward to the opening. We have been there many times and frankly it is very poor. Dirty tables and poorly made coffee. I even complained to the head office via the website with constructive feedback. Now we only go for drive through and often prefer the machine coffee from the 2 petrol stations nearby. We have used many other Costa branches (includes Liskead) so we know what a good Costa should be like.

The cafe was filthy. Nearly all tables were full if dirty plates, cups etc. You would think in the current circumstances that cleanliness would be a priority. Will not be returning any time soon. Didn’t seem to be enough staff.

What the h*ck. I came here with my family and we were stuck in the drive through for 40 minutes. The ‘staff’ were laughing and joking, not even bothering to do our drinks. When the drinks arrived they were definitely not worth the wait- what...

three times lately ive visited and everytime the staff on the drive through are so helpful, cheerful and generally really friendly. They always have a giggle with you at the window, it makes my day, well done guys.
