I visited the cafe 3 times during my 4 day visit to Abingdon. The customer service was excellent with lovely friendly staff who went out of their way to help other older customers even when busy. Very nice location on the square.

Visited here for the first time today , I have too say wasn't overly impressed. I really wanted a sandwich, i am colieac so couldn't see any gf options, I asked the server and was told they don't have any savory items but I can have a brownie for my lunch ! Err no! Lots of vegan options but no gf ... I ordered a caramel frappe and it was disappointing, won't be rushing back.

Coffee with friend. Enjoyed a lovely latte here today when meeting a friend to catch up. Very enthusiastic barrister who seemed to be enjoying his day! Offered me some advice on purchasing items very helpful! One mark knocked off purely as I had a pushchair, was with a friend who is pregnant and nobody offered to assist with the transportation of hot drinks despite coming to our table with food. Only a minor thing, but would be really appreciated!

Full of teenagers causing a riot , wasn’t the atmosphere I wanted to enjoy my drink , chucking signs and anything they could get their hands on. Swearing and generally abusing anyone in the way . Popped in for a takeaway hot chocolate, the guy making the drinks kept licking his fingers and wiping them on his apron. The hot chocolate was so bland I didn't think there was actually any chocolate in it. I didn't go back as laden with shopping I put more chocolate in at home. Won't bother going there again.

Having just finished a section of the Thames Pathway we needed a coffee and hit upon this Costa Coffee. It was not too busy for late on a Sunday. However the Barrista was exceptionally friendly, helpful and really interested in what we had been doing. She volunteered some god information (taxis etc) and could not have done more for us. Well done! The coffee was great too.

Passing in the street very close to the city square, the aroma of vanilla irritates our nose. It comes from Costa Caffee in Abingdon. This made us enter this very nice Coffee. They served us immediately with the coffee and the sweetness chosen as their preference - Cheesecake with vanilla and chocolate cake. We was delighted with this wonderful miracles. Coffe was hot and nice too. Costa coffee is always a favourite choice for our coffee and friendly service.

We have been house sitting at our Son's house in Abingdon so I took the opportunity while my wife and daughter were at a garden centre to pop into Abingdon turn centre to grab a coffee and read my book. Costa coffee is always a favourite choice for their great coffee and friendly service. Well, This Costa Coffee was no different and lived up and surpassed my expectations. I was able to drive my medium sized mobility scooter straight in and up to the service counter, place my order then park near to and sit at a table with a great view across the market Square. My coffee was brought in a timely fashion to my table as I am unable to carry anything whit using my one good seen to hold my stick. I drank some coffee and opened my book but after only a short while I realised I was in direct sunlight and was getting too warm. As my table was in this instance just opposite the service counter I called over for some help to move to a cooler spot. Without delay a very pleasant young men bend Cameron came over to assist, caring my coffee and glass of ice water to a nice spot with a cooler disposition but with equally nice views. He returned to ask if I needed any personal assistance and ended up carrying my back pack and book as well. When I had esconsed myself in my new seat, again assisted with my chair pulled out etc, I settled down to a relaxing 30 minutes or so sipping my flat white and admiring the scenery of Abingdon's old market square and the various people wandering passed the coffee shop. I have to admit to being a people watcher, always fascinated by the multitude of folk of differing styles and backgrounds who live in areas we visit. Anyhow, after my coffee, my iced water was a welcome thing on this warm sunny day. I left Costa after about 45 minutes all in all, having only one regret, the timing of my diet which denied me sampling the cakes or scones on offer. I did see an older couple tucking into scones with butter and jam and they looked very content indeed, bless them. So all in all my solo escape into town was deemed by me a great success, I even got through two chapters of my book. I would highly recommend Costa on the square to anyone who likes great coffee and a five selection of eats. I did notice later that there was another Costs Coffee very close to the bridge in the town, so that we'll be my next stop on my next escape, simply for comparison, although I anticipate the quality being much the same.

Not very nice ! I visited this Costa for the second time this year first time was ok second time not good! I came with my two daughters a small baby. we ordered hot drinks and sandwiches. The sandwiches were pre packed so cannot really say anything about that apart from the fact it was tasteless my toasted sandwich was pale floppy and undercooked the hot chocolate was cool not hot the staff were friendly. The cafe was empty it’s too expensive for underwhelming food and drinks come on costa you can do better than that or you may find you will be closing due to lack of customers!

This is a really nice Costa. The staff are very friendly and the coffee is as good as you would expect. This would easily be a five-star review if it weren't for the lack of wi-fi. Yes, there is free wi-fi nearby, but it doesn't quite stretch to the back of Costa (where I also struggle to get phone signal) so pick your table carefully if you're planning to use a laptop. Went here on Saturday 21 November with a group of friends for 4 drinks. Stood in a long queue which you do get at some Costa stores but what followed was absolutely shocking. The assistant Emma who served us is the most rudest person I and my friends have come across! First met by 'what do you want' Emma advised that 2 of the drinks they didn't have in, which are on the new festival menu. Not great to say it has not been out long. When asked why they hadn't got it a simple ' I don't know I just serve!' Reply was given. When my friend tried to make small talk she was completely rude and just gave one word answers and made it obvious she did not want to talk.A check back of drinks she had put down 5 drinks for 4 of us. When challenged back and saying we had only ordered 4 drinks as there is 4 of us she then became argumentative saying 'you've order drinks so don't you know what your ordering' after going through the drinks she had put down one of the drinks she advised us was not available and when said that she had told us that was unavailable she said she hadn't told us that. My friend stepped in and pointed out that she had said this which then we was met with her banging on the till to cancel one of the drinks. When trying to pay she wasn't happy I wanted to put my code in the pin and chip instead of using contact less payment and threw the pin pad on the counter to me.The 2 blokes making the chaps apologised for her attitude and was the only saving grace. The drinks were actually really nice but the service was absolutely appalling and I would never go in here again!

Jo and Reece make consistently good cappuccinos and lattes, though the other staff are less reliable. The queue is often out the door, which is a compliment to the quality of fare, but suggests a bigger shop with two espresso machines would be viable, especially in fine weather or when there is an event in the market square.

I've been here three times. Each time the place is packed with mothers and babies, and all the babies were crying, and the mums don't seem to notice it. It may be churlish of me, but I like to have a conversation, or maybe read a book, with my coffee. Either is impossible here. Last week I was there at about 11am on a Friday. The tables were all full, and not cleared between customers, so stacked with detritus. Once again, prams and pushcarts crammed into the small and noisy space. I won't try it again. It's odd how crowded this place is when there are so many empty shops in this centre. We went across the square to Throwing Buns and had a nice coffee and some conversation, a fine experience.

We called in here as I’d never been and thought we’d try it out. We ordered two cheese scones with butter and two coffees and sat in the garden. Our very small scones arrived before the coffees, We thought as we buttered our not very cheesy cheese scones that the butter had a strange texture, the coffees were very small and not that hot. As we sat chattering I noticed on the butter wrapper, ‘use by 6/6/23’ The date of our visit being Monday 19th June!! My friend caught the attention of the waitress and told her we’d just eaten two weeks out of date butter, she just said ‘Oh sorry, I’ll tell the kitchen’ We sat for another 15 minutes half expecting maybe a further apology from the kitchen but nobody came near us, so we left having spent £12.30 on two small un-cheesy scones, stale butter and two small warm coffees. Obviously there won’t be a return visit.
