Costa Coffee in Manchester

It is always a pleasure to come back to this particular Costa place,most because of the staff who are very welcoming,warm and kind people.

stayed there during my visit to local city centre did shopping quite good people come and go friendly around loved it

I tend to go in the morning. Usually quiet. Always found service exceptional. Manager sets a good lead for the staff in creating a welcoming atmosphere. Even though there are 2 other Costa's on the same stretch, this would be my choice each time. It is also more spacious on entry in comparison to the others. The only gamble was the availability of choice of breakfast. Suppose evidence of the popularity of location in the eyes of others also. I have also now visited later in the day, midweek. Though busier still found service to be good. Also, I found the music not too heavy when played.

I ordered their new bubble tea, i recieved it and the straw was too thin for the popping boba to go through and when i asked, the employee told me to fish them out with a literal spoon :/ ???

Usual 10-minute wait before we get served. B machine was broken. Stuff was nice

Security guard is a bully. He Was dragging a youth around and swearing in his face and when I intervened he got in my face! Staff even terrified of him. Still waiting for manager to contact me back but I won’t hold my breath! Please don’t complain about anything or your likely to get a over zealous security guard in your face who seems to have no control of his temper and likes to push children and women around Issue has been reported to the police Lots of better coffee shops locally! Whole place is unorganised and out of control!

I have been there few times. The spoon was dirty and the coffee was a bit cold. Despite being a bit noisy place

Please go to another branch. The security guard is a thug who bully’s customers. Even staff are frightened of him.

A great little coffee shop in Piccadily Gardens. Staff friendly and nice and clean...

One of the worst experience I have faced yesterday evening , we came in around 6.30 pm we ordered americano cappuccino mocha orange juice and 2 sandwiches am the regular customer of costa coffee , I was standing in the till waiting to take my order 2 people in that area where they make coffee , rude girl and the guy who don’t speak much . The girl was so rude that I can’t explain it in words here she was not welcoming she made us feel this is not the right time to come to costa as we are closing it and this is the time for our closing . How can you hire such unprofessional people at your store just because she is white she was lacking manners and so rude . I waited their with friends at till she didn’t thanks us for waiting their or said hiya etc but she was rude when I ask take the order and she said you can’t see we are busy . At the end she don’t deserve to be like that in front with customers she should be polite with customers , she could have told us we are closing . Okay after they made our drink no one even call us that they are ready to serve . Unprofessional girl , I won’t be going costa anymore

I think you can sit comfortably and relax. Facing Piccadilly Gardens, it's convenient for both takeout and eat-in. I don't think it's anything special, but it was a comfortable cafe.

Costa Coffee on Market Street in Manchester,what a lovely place to go for a Tea, Coffee Hot Chocolate Cappuccino Etc, always very friendly staff with excellent customer service,you can always be made very welcome and they will even bring your drink to your table, you can charge your laptop, phone etc and on a day to day basis you can meet the same friendly people who just go in for a drink or something to eat for a bit of time and space on their own. On the odd occasion they have to deal with people who can't behave maybe they could change the seats and their tables to more modern and comfortable ones and maybe modernise the toilets but a lovely place to go to I definitely recommend it on a hot and cold day

Literally preventing clients from getting in 15 minutes before closing. Not sure whether it's a company policy but 15 minutes are more than enough for a take-away.

One of their manager was quite rude. She sent the security on me just because I stayed a bit longer. I am a regular customer of Costa and this was so unfair and disgusting in all honesty.

One young lady who works here appeared very miserable and passive aggressive to customers. She was friendly and happy with her colleagues but seemed to have a hatred for customers.

Came inside for a quick coffee and the lady in the till, Grace, is very nice and polite.

Very friendly staff and delicious milkshake! Was given another one immediately without any charge after I spilt my drink.

I will never buy coffee here again - I spent quite a lot of money here. This is the first time where I was refused access to the toilet since I came here, and I've been here for 8 years. It was done even though I mentioned that I was just coming back from another Costa. I understand that the toilet is only for customers, but I don't understand how you can not be a human.

Friendly staff and decent coffee. Plenty of tables. Nice atmosphere. Toilet. Security guard was friendly and clearing the tables. Great job!

Although there is a large number of customers, the service is fast, do not need to wait for a long time.

The drinks are nice. For any new/ignorant customers, you should be able to get an extra shot of coffee, for a Frappè, if you are inclined. Used my Treat Drop, for a nice slice of the Banana Loaf.

What to be expected of costa, all your usual brews, but the staff here were a barrel of laughs which always makes for a great experience!

No ice , not using proper cups , not very good servicing.

Not the best coffee that I drinked , and expensive ...

Very poor I felt like cattle quing, then to discover that that the tea came in a cup and not a pot. This must be the only Costa not to provide Tea Pot's. I still paid the same price though but i usually get two cup's out of a pot. Is this a sign of things to come from Costa shrinkflation. Starbucks does the same but always has done. So if this is things to come , I have now, no need to look for a Costa but just go to a Starbucks if one comes first.

This morning, I bought coffee from costa market street Manchester, I made a snap story which usually do. Security guard start shouting on me in-front of people. Because I m Asian. And he was on my head until I step out to the shop. In 7 pounds I bought coffee water and embarrassment.. cheers

The door/security staff are absolutely lovely here everytime I go in they are very friendly and welcoming part of the reason I always return to this store

The manager or guard, not quite sure which one he is he is a white male tall and bald. So rude i was mortified. I walked into costa with a couple of my friends wanting a coffee as it was raining and freezing outside however I already had food from Greg’s so I brought it in with me while waiting for my coffee. He approached me while I was on my own and stood over me laughed and told me I’m not to be eating that here I need to go outside so I said don’t worry I’m just waiting for my friends to get a coffee and he huffed and walked off. He then came back over to me while I’m waiting and said “don’t eat when I’ve told you to wait outside” (I was finishing a half eaten wedge I had just made put in my mouth) raising his voice making it very aware to everyone he was kicking me out. I was so embarrassed I hate any sort of conflict or embarrassment like that. I definitely do not like drawing attention to myself I just wanted a coffee with my food that’s it. My friends then came over and asked what the issue was and he just told us to get out at this point everyone was staring.. I agreed to leave but then he threatened to get the ‘nastier’ manager as if he was trying to scare me out!! I’m 22 years old and I felt as though I was being spoken too like some children who were going to cause chaos! I’m very anxious and this was awful. If he had just come over quietly and said do you mind once you’ve got your coffee you take your Greg’s outside as it’s not appropriate to bring it in here I would’ve happily got my things and left. But that did not happen. We left without our coffees and went elsewhere, and I will not be returning to this coffee place along with a lot of our uni friends that come here for coffee every morning and lunch!! Something needs to be done about him as I’ve seen quite a few complaints about him now!

Handy place to stop for coffee after a shopping trip. Security man was friendly and helpful, opening the door for me when I was struggling with my pram and bags and checking if I was ok. Small queue to get served, but service was good and I enjoyed my coffee. ☕

Security guard was rude. Walking around and inspecting people - this ruined any form of relaxing atmosphere.

The security guard was extremely impolite towards their customers who were non-white ladies, shouted at them, and tried to kick them out with no reason. It made everyone in the cafe witness this happening, such that it was totally ruining the image of Costa coffee. I do understand it is a franchise however it should make sure all franchise shops won't have any racist or sexist discrimination! It made me wonder whether I should visit any Costa coffee once again even though I do like the coffee there 🤔.

Curt Supervisor. 'Staying in or taking out' barked the surly staff member who appeared to be in charge. After asking to scan my Costa card she replied 'For future reference do that first in future' Very quick service, totally lacking in pleasantries. For future reference, manners cost nothing

It's a Costa so expect the same you get from everywhere. What I didn't like was it was kinda dark and dingey. It just felt soul-less and tired.

Costa beechwood blt Should be called Costa beechwood fat.....really poor quality Marks and Spencer was 10 times better

Which one? East Putney in SW London which I visit every morning and only have to raise an eyebrow to get my usual. Or the one in Manchester City centre which now doesn't have pouring cream which makes me sad.

They had run out of iced drinks / coffee and we visited in the morning. Given the weather the last few weeks , I am not sure this was the case . Most tables weren’t clear. No one actually serving at the counter for a while . Only two people working on a busy Sunday morning in central Manchester ?! The back counters by the machines was a mess. The lady at the till served hot food , changed a bin and then served more hot food without washing her hands . We were drinking and eating inside but got my tea in a paper cup rather then a proper cup and cake in a bag .No stirrers anywhere to stir my tea . Shoddy beyond belief and a rip off price too .

Can't recommend this branch. Even with Security present, the venue continually fills with people with outside food (from other venue) taking up valuable Seating and making a racket - all the time not spending any money with Costa

Lovely coffee brilliant service

Large Costa. Lots of room, plenty of seating and cleaning and clearing away was being done regularly. Didn't enjoy the drink I had but maybe that was a personal taste thing.

What to say about Costa? I like their cappacino better then the American star comp. For sure

Ordered a small late but been charged and received a medium one instead.

This is a normal Costa coffee but the staff members are very rude. Terrible service. I ordered an espresso with ice and they comment ironically my choice… my daughter grabbed a snack and they almost shouted at her. I asked for a spare cup to take away and one of the ladies said “she was not allowed fo give me one”. We ordered a sandwich, latte, coffee and a snack… please do train your staff.

They are very understaffed when I went in there were several tables piled high with cups and saucers needing washing.

Poor staff run off their feet, the bathroom disgusting ppl should be disgusted with themselves staff near tears so rushed lacking organisation couldn't drink the coffee really felt for them they were lovely

Rude staff and terrible manager I have been in costa coffee in Manchester arndale shopping centre which based behind the lift opposite the sport direct the staff are very very very rude specially store management and girl working there with red hair, she charged me two times and gave me one receipt she scanned my card few times and she said your card didn’t go through after 10 minutes I backed to her and I complained and I said you took money two times from my account, even I have shown her my account but she passed me to another person and that person passed me to someone else the store manager, from 17 of march till now I still didn’t get my money back. Just look after your money when you go there just pay them cash their card machine is not safe at all. I think this job is too big for store manager which already managing the store. Cost coffee was one of my favourite coffee shops but not any more

Always a nice places and not as busy as some of the others the staff are always nice and helpful and the shop is always clean and tidy.the shop is located only a few minutes be walk from Picadilly Gardens bus and tram stations.

Absolutely dreadful place. I used the mobile app to place my order to the store on 6th February at 07:13. The app said the store was open. Upon arrival it was closed and nobody inside. I ordered in advance due to going to work and didn't have time to mess about. The same morning at 07:35 I reached out to Costa and requested a refund. Today is 2nd March and costa are still refusing to refund. If the store was not open they should not be accepting orders on the app and taking peoples money. It should not be so difficult to get my money back for a order I could not collect. The customer service for this is absolutely unacceptable. Just accept you have messed up and refund. I have never known such bad service

Very busy but really good drinks that were hot and tasty.

When we were trying to select food on the shelf, we picked up an empty box for a certain food, intending to inquire about its availability. The guard at the entrance saw and instead of helping out, he immediately said, put it back, don’t touch it, repeatedly. After we told him that we wanted to ask whether this particular food was available. He went on to repeat, put it back, don’t take it away, don’t touch it. His words came off as extremely rude and in a way almost insulting, and maybe even racist, as if we were some criminals who don’t understand English. Extremely disappointed with the incident on my first couple days in Manchester, supposedly a friendly city. It also tarnished the reputation of Costa, which has branches all over the world. Too bad I can’t submit negative rating for my experience at this store.

Came up for the Man City v Arsenal game and needed fast wifi to work. Costa never disappoints on wifi wherever I am in the country. Recommended for those needing to work.

Noisy. Chaotic. My drinks were left on a tray going cold and staff didn't say they were ready. Not a pleasant experience.

My Fiancee took me when i went over to the UK to visit. Best coffee I've tasted in a long time. Be careful getting the extra shots of espresso. I felt like the Road runner on speed. Lol

Was really busy but service was brill.

Nice of Costa to serve me a large cappuccino in a mug with a large chip in it as per photo. And the whole check your bill and use the digits on thst to use a toilet is ludicrous. If management are thst concerned then set up regular checks. The almond croissant would also have been much nicer if warmed through too.

Line is atrocious and barely moves it took way too long, not enough staff so if in a rush maybe skip. Loads of flies in the cake case. However nice atmosphere and good drink.

I promised myself don't back this brand anymore but I have tried again unfortunately. The supervisor made a really bad services. While set a tray for a customer after me, he supposed I could get my table with a big glass and a plate without one. I had to back two times as he forgotten the butter asked previously and any spoon was provide. Beside to even fill properly my hot chocolate. I have clear on my mind forget this brand forever.

Always good coffee but not much choice of cakes & snacks

Service and general appearance of shop good. The cinnamon bun was a bit stale so the charge of £4 for a coffee and bun was not value for money as far as I’m concerned. The tray that goods were placed on was dirty with leftovers from a previous diner. The general hygiene can be notched up a Tad. Bottom line hot beverages and meals available so enjoy your choice when there!👍
