Costa Coffee in Manchester

One certain staff member is absolutely fabulous. The toilet was really dirty but when the staff heard, they went to clean it for us straight away. A brunette young curly hair individual went above and beyond to clean the toilet and their attitude was so understanding and kind. I am so thankful and the drinks we had were great. My drink had a light whip and she made it straight away when there wasn't any left. She also went straight back to making drinks after extensively cleaning the toilet for us, coming out to clean the tables and even noticed a table was a bit wobbly so she tried to fix it. This type of young and hardworking staff is so hard to find these days and any employer would be lucky to have her on their team. I really hope she gets promoted. My order ref was 245002295891.

Not enough staff to cope with cleaning tables, and the toilets are a right state! Ordered a cajun chicken wrap, hardly any filling in it. Poor, just so poor. 👎

Can be little bit crowded. On this last instance was served by same member of staff was very helpful

My ftiend went to buy a coffee and had a giftcard(£2).The employee scanned, said it isn t working and didn t want to enter code manually. Is 2nd time when this happens there. My friend paid in full left embaressed as other people were looking. If it was me there i would have made a big scandal. It is a joke to be lazy, not respect people and treating people different cause of their accent or just you can t be bother to type in some letters. Her english is poor but you can help out and be nice cause that is what is part of your job. You don t like the job just leave it. Tried to complain on the website but it is a joke to be able to fill those forms. Just doesn t let me to aubmit the complain. Today in city centre 28 Market St, Manchester M1 1PW worked no problems and asked if they can do manually if needed and said no worries if it doesn t scan will do that. Top staff in this Costa but the one at Fort a dissapointment. Shame on the girl working there. This happened yestersay at 11 20. I think that girl is a manager there. Waiting for Costa to contact me to sortt this situation out cause i ve wasted 20 min to contact via the form and didn t work

Brief encounter at the point of sale with a jaded member of staff who had what I shall politely call "customer service fatigue". We could chalk it up to a bad day at the office but looking at this lady's resting face, I would guess a career away from the challenges that some of the great unwashed present would improve hers and everyone elses quality of experience. Ho hum.

Only gave 4 star as I only had a drink last visit,last food I had (cheese and hog roast toastie) I'd have given 5 star+ rating and I will most definitely be having it again.

For the last 18 years I have visited as a regular customer with family and friends,today marks the end of an era. Having completed our shopping tonight my husband and I visited the store for a much needed coffee. While I awaited my drink having paid. My husband queued to use the bathroom, as he queued a lady left then a member of staff jumped in front to routine clean....a mother carrying her baby and an elderly lady joined the queue at that moment, with a boy about 4yrs old. The boy could not wait and was teary and the family desperate -so my husband directed them in front of him and politely knocked to advise the staff member the boy could not wait. The staff member stormed out of the toilet shouting, then proceeded to shove a chair across the restaurant and went into the staff only area at the rear of the shop. The boy went in and used the toilet with his parent. The cleaner returned and proceeded to shout at my husband regarding how the cleaning needed to be done for H&S and was waving his hands in a threatening manner in my husbands face something along the lines of this is not a public toilet, we were paying customers! A 2nd barrista whom had taken my order joined the cleaner in the toilet area, I asked him to come and return my money and cancelled the drink with the lady barrista, I asked her to contact the manager as the situation was volatile, she told me that was the manager! While refunding me the server proceeded to try and justify the behaviour of the irate manager! Telling me about H&S, I advised him both my husband and I are teachers so understand the importance of assessing risk and H&S, however, in desperate circumstances- you have to make more professional judgements .As we walked out of the door the server continued to shout to my husband in a completely unprofessional and provocative manner. The child urinating on the shop floor would have posed a much larger risk to patrons. In the long run, this will save me and my family a fortune as we will not be visiting this store again. I was not surprised to read the review from 3 days ago also stating customers had been shouted at SMH!

The short fat lady and the guy who are working in this Manchester fort shop are not polite and they shout at their customers. They are very rude. I will not use Costa any more. Also it is expensive and don’t care about their clients.

My coffee was given to me full of just milk no coffee at all, when I went to show them the lady (Farah) who call herself a manager, asked for more money, she just simply heated milk and added the leftover coffee of someone else. Waist of money

Asked for extra hot chic but it wasn't extra hot .

Clean establishment, courteous polite staff. I can honestly say that I was able to enjoy a big cup of java and get a lot of paperwork done. Quickly becoming one of my fav Costa Coffeehouses

Very good coffee! But lately the service have gone down! Much, much to slow! This have become a problem by all costas branches! You can't get a quick coffee on the go no more! Waiting times from more then half an hour and staff is having breaks or go to breaks while the queue is getting even longer! I often give a miss as I can't afford this reticules waiting times!

Ordered a couple of times, majority of them the drinks have been ready for me in the time it has said to collect, once I've still had to wait as if I had just walked in. (Does say between 5-8 minutes to go then should be done), but claimed to have been really busy. (Not even acknowledged the order till I arrived). So it meant I had to wait 20 minutes (longest for Costa). Good place for coffee and a wide selection of milks for dietary, good selection of cakes and food, but will need to speak to staff about allergy.

Tried 3 times all times wrong drinks , don’t accept card and the staff rude

Absolutely disgusted with what just happened to me at Costa Coffee in Manchester Fort. They had only one oven working and they were heating up both meats and vegan sandwiches in one Oven. They pretty much using same chopping boards, utensils it was absolutely horrible to witness. I challenged the staff and they had a massive attitude problem so I asked for my Money back and they refused to give it back to me? Im speechless!!! I need a Manager from this store to get in touch with me ASAP, I'm not leaving this incident and pushing it under the carpet, this is serious and needs dealing with.

Had a cake slice last weekend. Would recommend.

Worst Costa I've been in, a lady in front of us was having trouble with the costa app and the payment for her order, there were 4 staff and they all got involved with trying to sort it out leaving us to wait 5 minutes before one of them started taking orders again. Food and coffee wasn't up to usual Costa standard. When I used the toilet the toilet seat was broken there was tissue all over the floor 2 take out coffee cups on the floor and the floor was dirty. Not somewhere we will be going back to. Very disappointed.

A nice place to chill out and relax in. I went in the morning and service was very quick and efficient. The establishment was clean and tables were clear. The cappuccino and shortbread was first class.

The staff is great, but their card machine is seldomly working, which is very annoying

Dirty place, pure coffee is so dirty. I don’t know how good coffee coming out. Barista women dark hair is rude, talk a lot - work less, that’s why she mess with orders. And whe I said her that better put attention on the work, then just flirting with men and talk as radio. She start to be rude. Unprofessional!

Not the best Costa, yes, the lady making the coffee was fast but she had to make it again as it was more like a latte than a cappuccino, then argued that we should have asked for an extra frothy one and that anyway she'd made it now. My wife said she would only bring it back as it wasn't a cappuccino, reluctantly, she remade it, but surely, a cappuccino is frothy. Then the frostino I had had mango bubbles in it but how can you give a straw of an eighth of an inch diameter when the bubbles are twice as big? Not the best.

I love Costa!They have the best service and the best desserts/drinks!The prices are really good too!

Coffee good, toasted sandwiches good, comfortable furniture, but very, very noisy!

No idea what espresso coffee is 😡 Keep pouring espresso coffee from one cup to another like making cocktails and not espresso. Let alone that is to weak but don’t understand that coffee loses its flavours when changing from one cup to another one Could go to jail if someone sees you doing that in Italy 😀

Shocking staff, turned up to collect a too good to go bag 1 minute late!!! Lights still on in the shop, 2 staff still in there refused us collecting.... we were 60 seconds late as we were delayed due to an ambulance on a blue light call!!!

It wasn't very busy for the day we went, which was nice to be able to nip in and grab a quick take out coffee.

i have been going there quietly and often see my clients there for Cuppa, and they have 1 washroom for customers but never used it. so messy send stinks. i appreciate that staff are busy and doing tasks rapid however every customer need fully attention rather than they feel ignored . 🙁

Really disappointed today. Imagine that costa Toilet out of order. Tab is broken so no water. A lack of staff Not the costa we have been knowing for many years

Some shops on the retail park had security guards at the doors and in costa there were several groups of men which unnerved my elderly mother. We've shopped here before and not noticed this. But all was ok

Lovely place but the sitting structure or design team had no thought for mum's with buggy needing a break with a cup of coffee and some adult conversation.

Nice enough but always busy and loud.

It was noisy today in here, I couldn't hear what the member of staff was saying through the plexi glass at the counter - which she found amusing. I didn't. So I left. Poor service.

Had to queue as with most Costa shops but drinks and snacks were their usual high standard. Staff friendly and restaurant was clean. Great selection of food and drinks.

Reasonable pace of service. Seating inside and out. Range of drinks options, menu on electronic display rather fast so couldnt read all before page changed

Staff are always lovely and helpful BUT It’s very dirty and untidy . Very off putting even to take away . Looks so grubby. It’s important that enough staff are employed to keep the inside and outside clean and tidy . For that reason I don’t go anymore.

That where I normally get my coffe from every morning , very nice and tastey , staff are really great.

Nicest cup of coffee I've had from there but it's far too expensive! Cost twelve pound odd for two medium 'Choca Mochas' (I think that's how you say/spell it?) and a very small slice of cake. I enjoyed the coffee as said but glad the missus paid - because I wouldn't have paid for it lol 😁

Was busy but was able to both get drinks and somewhere to seat quite quickly. Tables were cleared and cleaned constantly whilst there. Toilets were also clean

Fast and friendly staff and quick service

A very cozy place indeed especially when there’s a little drizzle outside. The ambiance was so quiet and comfortable that you can get a lot of work done in peaceful environment. There are chairs, sofa seats and counters to choose from according to your taste. Outdoor seating is however best for a bit chilly weather. About coffee, I found it pretty bland to be honest. It just tasted like coffee dissolved in water with a pinch of milk. Still better than Starbucks but needed a cookie to get some taste. The staff is really friendly and helpful with ingredients and taste.

First coffee in 3 months, was very excited to order my usual flat white. After a long wait (mostly because the staff were talking amongst themselves) I was presented with my drink, a Luke warm and very weak coffee. After voicing my displeasure, I was surprised to find the staff defending the poor coffee and as they begun arguing with me in front of a store full of other customers. Which was embarrassing for me. I eventually got the £2.50 back. Hardly seems worth it. I wont be back to a Costa any time soon.

I love Costa coffee. Their coffee is strong, but how I like it.

Used the same utenstils used for dairy products for a lactose intolerant lady was not a sensible thing to do. It could have ended badly for someone with a dairy allergy

Costa coffee is the only place in manchester fort is to sit down, relax and sip an espresso.very professional , caring , and helpful staff ,you can find always fresh confectionery here , indoor and outdoor seating area ( obviously ourdoor depends on weather) no parking problems whatsoever, over all 5 star experience !!

Costa coffee shops are situated in all the convenient places, you can get almost every type of coffee, all overpriced, they also sell average cakes etc. Also at inflated prices, with the revenue they are generating, they could sort out the dated seating, peeling dated wallpaper and only one toilet for Male /Female /Disabled /Child - Baby changing,.... It's a dump.

Awesome, nice sandwiches and cakes plus hot coffee,really nice.

Caramel latte could do with some caramel ;)

I personally find these shops expensive...but they always seem well attended..

Awful service, grotty, messy environment. It's never a place to come for a quiet cup.of coffee. Some customers that are sat in the same place for hours, tables that are never cleared. Don't ask for heated food, it's all guess work. Awful just avoid.

Nice place to go, although this the 2nd Costa Ive been too now where I thought the coffee gas changed. Its not as good as it used to be.

I think its over priced for what you get. Like £3 for a super small brownie. My mum loves it but i don't know why to be honest
