Costa Coffee in Wakefield

Awesome work from the Costa team at Wakefield Westgate station. Turned an Americano round in 1 and a half minutes (I was running late!) - followed me out to the platform with it as the train was pulling in. Great coffee too. Thanks fellas!

Called in for a coffee before the train south. The friendly barista made me an excellent double shot flat white.

Coffee is scolding hot. 10 minutes sitting with it on my table, still can't take a sip, it's literally burnt.

Posting this because they have a really irritating habit that should just be stopped. The coffee shop is in two parts, one before the barriers and one after the barriers and they are physically separated. The staff keep randomly closing the part after the barriers with no sign or notice before the barriers. This means that when/if once again they randomly close, you have to find a member of station staff to let you through the barriers. This habit is as irritating to the station staff as it is to the customers and there is no excuse for it.

A lovely spot for a nice hot coffee and warm delightful treats! Located inside the Wakefield Westgate Railway Station and it has 2 sections. One part is accessible from outside the ticket gate and the other one after the gate (before the platform). It offers indoor and outdoor seating. There is also a seating/waiting area for the station just outside this place. Great selection of snacks. Cosy, clean and nice atmosphere. Service was quick and easy. Staff is friendly and efficient.

Staff were quite rude to a young lad member of staff, saying he was immature, not fair on him

On the opening time on the door, it says they're open 8:30-5 but when I tried to go in at 4:30 the staff inside said they weren't open

Small Costa in Wakefield Westgate train station. Has two parts, one before the ticket barrier and a separate part afterwards which is usually quieter. Polite and fast service from the staff. The cafe is clean and well organised. Could benefit from some more comfy chairs like maybe a sofa or armchairs but space is limited.

Edited Review: After trying AdeZ Oatmilk I can say that this tastes pretty nice, way better than their attempt at soya, so I will be sticking to oat milk at Costa from now on. Original Review: I ordered a soya hot chocolate for delivery with Costa's new alternative brand AdeZ to try, as they have stopped using Alpro and instead have moved to this brand owned by Coca Cola. Costa have always been my favourite coffee shop, but I don't understand why they have moved from Alpro to this absolutely revolting milk, that smells like plasticine and tastes even worse. Sorry Costa, but you've gone down hill and I won't be drinking from here again unless you bring Alpro back!

I hope this compliment gets back to the lovely young lad that served me this afternoon! Didn't get to see his badge fully before I left but his name started with a C I think and he was working the afternoon of May 3rd. He truly is a credit to the company! So pleasant and helpful with taking my order and helping me with my points card, plus my coffee was absolutely delicious (as always 😁) In a weird world that can feel so impersonal with people being scared of being around strangers and not being able to see anyone's face because of masks, this worker made my visit feel normal, safe and welcoming.

It's a normal Costa shop, but to go to toilet you need to buy train ticket. 😕

It's a good place to visit for a quick drink while u wait for a train but also if you just want a coffee or food to go. Plus the staff are really friendly.

Looks pretty and the staff are great but that's it. The coffee is overpriced and food is subpar. The eatables are glorified wads of flour that are barely edible.

Wakefield Westgate Costa coffee is small but perfectly formed. The staff are always friendly and speedy. And it's just generally a good Costa.

I agree that staff are generally pretty helpful and friendly; though I've had occasion when a middle aged woman working there, bucked the trend and has been quite acidic (being generous there BTW). Can't agree with the comments on beverage quality. It's a pretty mediocre to poor branch of Costa. The coffee is often acidic too; this is usualy a feature of Ethiopian coffee beans; or can be the inclusion of too much robusta beans but in this case I suspect it's poor brewing skill. It's ok if you really need a caffeine rush; otherwise wait until you're somewhere better.

I have used them a couple of times. I have found the service to be excellent. The staff are all very polite, friendly and helpful. Costa at its best.
