Poor service when just ordring a simple drink. I asked for it takeaway and that was acknowledged when taking my order, then the same person went to make it and had already forgotten, then simply poured it from the cup into a takeaway cup, turning it from a cappuccino into more like milky coffee that didn't even fill the cup. Also no chocolate on until I asked, but that just melted straight into the milky coffee anyway with no froth left.

Order notes ignored. No syrup and wrong number of coffee shots

Costa Coffee in North Shields is first class. The customer service in my experience goes above and beyond the environment is clean and comfortable and the quality of the products is great.

Very good food and good on time

Only thing not happy with is you forgot to put my salted caramel crunchy bits on.

Quick delivery as fancied a coffee & didn't have time to go out for one, however I ordered an oat milk cappuccino with choc sprinkles & looks like just a regular americano with a bit of milk poured in. No foam or chocolate at all. Pretty bad.

the coffee and drinks are over priced, the cold drinks such as the mango yuzu taste just like a robinsons dilute drink and as such are ridiculously expensive. it takes ages and ages for them to make the coffee there has to be a faster way.l wouldn't get any food there. the seating is good and comfortable tho.

Nice staff, unfortunately this is another costa shop that actively encourages smoking by putting out ash trays, so if your a non smoker it's impossible to sit outside without constantly being poisoned by smoke, shame on Costa

Nice cup of tea here and enjoyed the lemon tart. Unfortunately the card machine was broken but that could happen anywhere!

Delivery was fine and so was hot chocolate but sausage bap I couldn’t even bite into because the top of the bun was so hard.. not happy 😫

Instructions ignored for the drinks and made far too strong to drink. Disappointing when they’re normally great.

Ordered a prawn may sandwich and large latte only the latte turned up. The delivery driver said they'd tried to ring but there were no missed calls I call BS!!

People often underestimate the impact of a warm smile or a friendly welcome in the morning, and as a regular customer for 5+ years, this review is well overdue and I owe a huge thank you to the staff at Costa on Bedford Street. I have seen staff come and go over the years, but the current team are an absolutely delightful bunch. Linda (store manager) is hands-on, tough as boots, but always makes time for customers and a chinwag. No surprise she knows the majority of us regulars on a first-name basis. Darren, Niamh, Laura, Zoe, (and the rest) - please never change. You work your little backsides off in that coffee shop, and our little chats in the morning as I'm ordering my flat white mean more to me than you will ever know.

Could do with more vegetarian options but typical of all costas ,nice enough place to visit.staff are brilliant.

Iced whipped vanilla latte looked absolutely nothing like the photo. The real one looked extremely unappetising and was kind of boring and gritty. I’ll stick with my usual iced latte. The Victoria muffin was lovely and fresh though.

MANAGER IS SO SO RUDE UNBELIEVABLE. I'm new to this town and sat there taking an urgent call so did not order straight away. The manager came to me asking me to leave. there was plenty of free space not like i was bothering anyone. RUDE RUDE RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE unacceptable.

The best coffee shop in shields without a doubt!

I seemed to have arrived during a busy period, but Zoe on the till was still smiling and being polite whilst taking my order, and the drinks made my Darren, were exactly as ordered (lovely art on my flat white).

Staff are really friendly,especially after explaining I suffer from anxiety and was stuttering whilst trying to order. Staff assured me I was doing fine and not to worry. Fast service and delicious drinks, lady helped me use my app to purchase my free drink (after collecting 8 beans on my app).

Lovley service from the barista who I think her name was Beth (she had to buns in). Worked well under the pressure of the queue even when the gentlemen before me were complaining about her. Great asset to the team I think

It's a Costa, nothing amazing but there isn't anywhere else in the area to offer better.

Iced latte was nice if not a little overpriced. Staff member quizzed me about using the toilets. Seemed unnecessary and caused some distress due my chronic bowel condition. Plenty of good independent places to go instead.

I'm a massive coffee lover so people who know me know were I will be my second home COSTA the staff are super friendly always make time for you clean friendly place they know what I want have to say best coffee in shields by far I'm in most days purely because of how nice of an atmosphere the place has thanks guys for making every occasions a happy and passive one see you soon much love xx

I recently visited to catch up with family as we have chaotic work schedules, this costa has a great relaxing atmosphere super friendly helpful Staff, and lots of choice food and drink wise all at reasonable prices

how this cafe has gone downhill so much used to be a lovely friendly place now its just chaos you wait nearly as long for your drink as it takes to drink it and the manageress is rude and ignores half the customers , also shouting at staff who are carrying coffees for a gentleman with a walking stick really isnt good customer service been going here for years but today will be the last time id rather go elsewhere

Waiting in big queues to get something very average and over priced wasn't my idea fun. A hot chocolate and piece of cake for just under £10 😮 and the hot chocolate wasn't even hot 😬

Fab service! We just popped in for a catch up and the staff were so friendly, got a hot choc and cappuccino and both were lush. Store was spotless and had a lovely atmosphere- it’s definitely our new catch up spot 😀

Good coffee and excellent service. Like cafe Nero coffee better but everyone has there favourites. This coffee is still really good and would recommend Costa coffee.

Coffee good not to long to wait in queue...one fault...seats need good clean! Lifted cushion to shake off crumbs.....worse underneath plus used face masks??

I have frequented Costa North Shields on and off last few years, Yes there has been staff come and go for one reason or another but that is happening in the world we live in. However I feel the girls that are there now are amazing and deserve some credit, I have always been met by friendly helpful girls who would go out of there way to assist and have a friendly smile or words even when they are run off their feet|,, Yes its busy and yes sometimes you may have to wait but its worth waiting for. Its the friendliest coffee shop in North Tyneside. Next ime you frequent here perhaps say Hi and asking how they are? thank them for their service and show some appreciation ,, I give credit when its due and feel yes the girls could do with more support and rewards, incentives for what must be a very challenging role at times, A shout out especially to Laura, Niamh , Linda and Vicky and to anyone else I may not know names, Thankyou for your kindness and see you soon from Lynda and Ghost xxx

Been visiting the store for over 3 years & the staff are amazing warm & friendly everytime I go they are also very welcoming. If there’s ever any complaints they sort it without question the manager & the other girls Need a pay rise during lockdown they have been even more amazing going above & beyond I won’t go anywhere else Thanks for all your hard work ladies

Despite the wait, but I love the service

Last few time I've used this costa has sworn me off coming here again. First time the drinks were cold within a minute of walking out the door. The second time the server, older blonde lady with glasses, first over charged me and then despite being told 3 times that it had to be made with soya milk still made the hot chocolate with regular milk. Then said to my partner that she hadn't asked for soya milk despite repeating it back when we ordered. Really disappointed as costa is usually excellent

Went for a quick coffee with my wife, the quality of the coffee was good however the manageress and another staff member were horrible and very rude. People like them have no costumer service skills and should not work in a service industry. Never going back again.

The staff is very very rude,especially the two womens that is normally there .If u complain to1 of them for something, then the other one jumps and shouts from the counter like they gonna have a fight. Absolutely no manors and no education at all .The place is dirty ,never seen a toilet clean, and as soon as u walk through the door , they get very miserable. Excuse me , if u dont like your job, just leave , u dont have to be horrible to costumers . Never going back again.

RUDE MANAGERESS, please be aware that the "TOILETS ARE FOR CUSTOMERS". I made the mistake of going to the toilet before buying my takeaway coffee. I was reminded of this little known local bylaw. I take this overrides the national bylaw that everyone can use the toilets and can be given a glass of water.

Atmosphere, coffee and reasonable prices

I ordered 2 large caramel lattes with 3 sugars for each and 2 tuna melt paninis for delivery via Uber eats we received 2 coffees, which have no caramel in either of them, 1 of the tuna melt paninis was missing entirely and the other panini received was not a tuna melt panini and we asked for 6 sugars in total and we only received 4 in total. I usually visit this costa on a very regular basis and my order is always usually correct so I am very disappointed to have received this order and how wrong it is.

I ordered a pot of tea, a tiny jug of milk,tea not very hot,but what has put me off totally is the vile taste on the cups, I returned two cups,and ended up with a cardboard cup. The sizes of the cakes are a disgrace,the prices very expensive. Definitely not worth the money,£9-15 for a Latte, cardboard cup of tea,and two quarter sizes of cake.

Can't use reuseable cups due to this virus. Don't accept Cronk's in glasses and cup as they're desirable and contain the virus too. Ask for them to be placed in disposable cups!!!!

This is a good Costa. Not the best one I've ever been to but it could be way worse. The staff are friendly enough and they do make the drinks quite well. The queues often end up quite long but I don't really see that as an issue. I'm happy there's a Costa in North Shields now though so I'm not going to complain much! Though on a side note, as of writing this review, Costa does not show up properly on Google Maps where it should be next to Burger King.

Was very busy but ok for a break

Terrible Service Don’t Bother! Waited ages in the queue, whilst others walked out! When I got served the Costa Card points machine wasn’t working and I was advised Costa didn’t accept £50 notes!!! Since when has a £50 not been legal tender and where is the notice to say that! No where!! Although the toastie was hot and tasty and my tea very nice, I will not be back..... come on Costa sort it out!!!

Nice coffee good staff food pricey

Not up to the usual standard as there was a problem with the coffee machine. Still was able to get a filter coffee and the staff were very helpful.
