Costa Coffee in North West Leicestershire

Nice place, the only gripe that I have is the lack of seating for one person. Often there are large tables for 3/4 and I don't want to take up that space. It would be good to put in more 1 seaters.

Very busy place in the centre of town

Relatively quick service. The muffins seem to have succumbed to shrinkflation. A lot of tables had not been cleared, even though the place was relatively quiet. No knife and no serviette for the muffin - I thought this was a standard! But then you don't get a glass of water with your espresso unless you ask!

Great atmosphere with plenty of seating. My only gripe is they almost always never carry enough food items, it seems almost every time I go in, they are out of the things I get :/ . Coffee is good, the food is hot.

Been many times a good cup of tea!

Worst iced tea! £7.50 for two peach iced teas made with warm tea and no ice! Awfu! Rip off Britain in full effect!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Good selection of food and drinks, food was fresh. Plenty of seating and toilets were clean and tidy.

Under staffed coffee tasted awful 😖 didn't use enough decaff coffee, basically a cup of lukewarm milk.

Toilets are disgusting. Hoc chocolate and caramel Late were bitter and unappetising.

This costa is very, very busy. It has wheelchair access but is a little tight to get around. Loud environment that can be a little overwhelming if you are noise sensitive. Staff always run off their feet, but really lovely people. Sometimes low on certain drink items. I use this costa regularly, but I have to admit i personally find the loud atmosphere too hard to cope with for long.

This Costa is repeatedly disappointing. Its either full of uncleared tables or run out of food. Today at 2.00pm there's virtually nothing ti choose from so just had coffee. Beaumont Leys, Leicester or Fosse Park so much better. Hopefully it will get sorted out

All hard surfaces so nothing to soak up the noise. Rather unpleasant experience so unlikely to return.

staff are great, they are clearly very busy all the time since they're short staffed! very friendly and try to have a chat if they have time only tiny issue is its too loud at times in there, but that is not their fault lmao

Coffees are great here. Most of the time there is always a queue and a line to get into and wait before you can order and pay.... On this particular occasion no que. Nathan the Barista was professional, friendly and efficient in making our coconut Capuccinos. A fantastic young man. A nice place to relax, with pleasant decor.

Been here a few times over the years and been today Tuesday 23rd may 2023. plenty of free seats and tables. I joined the queue and was about 5th in the queue. The barista was so slow and took about 12minutes before i was served. one of the team came round to the machine and i thought he was going to help clear the queue but no he made himself a drink and disappeared to the back. Drink and toast was ok when we eventually got it. The lad who made himself a drink kept appearing, cleared tables and cleaned them and he cleaned an empty table near us 3 times in 20 mins. there was also another girl in the backroom. The staffing needs sorting out and someone should do it fast.

It took a long time to get the drinks but they were very busy. Everyone was friendly, and it was clean with plenty of seating.

Been waiting for 20 min for a Hot Chocolate and a Double expresso to takeout. While one of the employees is doing drinks the other 2 are standing there talking and looking completely lost like they have no idea what they're doing. Just awful service.

This was my first visit to this shop, nestled in the histic Market street. The food and drink are nice and the service is excellent. Nice and clean.there is a slight ramp into the shop but wheelchair friendly.big front window, where you can sit and watch the world go by

Very good service; good coffee. A nice lively, busy atmosphere. (The toilet though left something to be desired: grubby, broken tissue dispenser, tissue on floor and a bit smelly.)

Popped in for my free slice of cake on my Birthday. That's one of the benefits of the Costa app. Cheerful staff at Ashby branch and great coffee and cake! Don't forget every drink purchased collects a "bean" and 8 beans gets you a free coffee of your choice!

what has happened to Costa ???? Used to have lovely seating and a nice atmosphere. Been in there today and its more like a school canteen. I can only assume its to cram more people in. False economy Costa, I wont be going back.

Popped in late this afternoon with a friend for a quick coffee and wanted to say that the team were lovely and the service was great A young chap with a great moustache and 2 lovely young ladies. One of which was a fellow vegan. We were served quickly and the team were so friendly and chatty. It was a pleasure to pop in.

Nice staff and coffee, but the service was so so slow.

Also get great coffee here and always a good vibe, real hub of the town. Staff are friendly specially amber who served me , lovely smile polite and looks like she enjoys her job. Very busy place which only says good things in my book. Lovely toasties but just a tad expensive but great place to catch your breath for 10 mins when on the run

Only giving 1 star as it's the minimum, this branch of Costa wouldn't accept a £10 Scottish note which is legal tender in England.

Went in with two under 5's and told to sit down and things would be brought over - sat waiting ages and went to see what the hold up was to find drinks and food left to go cold on the counter & babychinos were stone cold -not totally convinced that they had ever been warm in the first place tbh

First time in ashby. Warm, tasty and very clean.

There is a man in there with black hair long, he must be the slowest Barista. Nothing is ever a rush.

Clean, friendly and barista was helpful in helping me decide what to choose.

Your blonde barrister / manage with plaits needs to remember that not every disability is visible. I found you very rude and not child friendly. The lady making the drinks on the other hand was lovely. Costa please educate your staff on autism / sensory processing awareness. What should have been a birthday treat was ruined by one staff member! It’s not what you said….ITS THE WAY YOU SAID IT …… we were made to feel very uncomfortable whilst trying not to draw attention to our child having a meltdown. We were just trying to finish our breakfast and leave as quickly as possible…. There was NO NEED for you to make a scene by pointing out our child’s behaviour. Do you not think we were trying as parents to do our best and leave as soon as we could without spoiling our other child’s birthday treat?

Me and my partner always come to costa, the blonde ladies who have been there for years are amazing! Always smiling and know who we are, they come out and say hi to our doggy when hes outside. Hope the refurb has gone well!

If you want expensive coffee then you've come to the right place. Nothing extraordinary in the taste too.

Always a joy to visit, great support from all the staff, went out of their way to help my wife & her friend (who was not very confident) - response to thanks "that's what we are here for, always happy to help". Consistently great since opening over a decade ago [apart from a very few glitches]. Recomended.

It was a quiet Sunday morning when I stopped in for a very good flat white, and a hot pork sausage BAP. It was quiet, clean, and service was fast and friendly.

Friendliness of the staff is great i can't fault that, the premises is in need of a spruce up it looks a bit drap and dull compared to other establishments within the same area.

It's nice enough Coffee but is a bit untidy from most of my visits. Friendly atmosphere though in general.

Disgusting atmosphere, the manager especially responsible for this (who I know as Amber?). I’ve been visiting this branch of costa for many years, and I can now say the staff are treated poorly and with little respect. This has made a huge impact on my experience here. Very disappointed.

Very busy service was a little slow , but nice coffee.

Coffee is always great, but every time the queue is quite long. Ideally need 2 people making the drinks 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pleasant experience as usual. I can't fault Costa. I use different ones but they all have great staff, good food and excellent environments!

Fairly decent coffee and the shop was reasonably distanced from other customers. I ordered a small Decaf Cappuccino, which was good. Would visit again if in Ashby.

Ashby Costa. Poor service wrong drinks made and then when we did get the correct ones, they didnt taste anything like normal. But I was warned before! Wish I'd listened.

Typical Costa joint. Not overly impressed. Only went because other half wanted to.

I arrived on a Sunday to a queue of about 6 people. Behind the counter were four 16 year olds looking stressed and clueless. It took about 10 minutes to be served and it took them about 15 minutes to make a hot chocolate and my toastie. These kids looked stressed and flustered and had no clue how to make a drink or how to provide good customer service. Shame on Costa for allowing this.

Just visited. Tables sticky or uncleared. Coffee machine and general counter area filthy. Two young men and a young woman behind counter. Clearly finding it difficult to do everything. Queue painfully slow and then some. Management of the shop obviously very poor. Absolutely will avoid in future.

Unfortunately after asking a genuine question regarding the price of a cappuccino and being responded to in a defensive tone, the person making the hot drink then saw fit to serve the person behind me in the queue. Quite disappointed to be treated in this way. Why can’t staff deal with genuine questions more professionally??

Went to Costa this morning and waited 30minutes to be served there were for people there but only one person serving the coffees. The other 3 wandered round aimlessly doing things that really could have waited as the que was out of the door. Then once I got our coffee it wasn't really hot !! Not impressed!! Staff really do need to improve.. Will not be visiting this costa again .especially when there are other coffee shops near that are better than this costa.

Waited in a queue for 45 minutes. Young girl serving was paying more attention to her phone rather than clearing filthy, laden tables. Her excuse for being useless...a poorly arm! Miraculous recovery after my direct complaint. Well done to the two young men who worked solidly during our visit.

Be careful the size of coffee cup you ask for, you tend to get a larger more expensive one

Long wait, kept getting click and collect orders pushing in front. Tables not cleared. Food preparation area dirty. Staff too stressed to care.

Poor Very slim selection of food. Non veggie friendly. Poor service. Queued for 30 mins today finally to get to the front of the queue to be ignored by the little boy serving. No acknowledgement at all to apologise for the delay no- "i'll be with you in a moment" after a further 5 mins of being ignored I abandoned my need for a hot bev and left as my parking would have timed out by the time id got my coffee.

Generally a run of the mill Costa with horrible unsanitary facilities. Unfortunately, two things let this one down. Firstly, they didn't clean anywhere during my visit. In times of covid, you would hope they were on top of cleaning. Secondly, and more importantly, the toilets. They were incredibly unhygienic and disgusting. The sanitary disposal was seriously overflowing!! The floor, toilet, door, sink and separate bin were unhygienic and soiled with God knows what. I felt quite sick after encountering that. I promptly told a staff member, who said there was nothing she could do, as the sanitary bin was looked after by an external company. It looked like several months worth of sanitary products, or 50 nappies. If I worked there I would have closed the toilets for staff and customer safety. A side note, before I went to the facilities, I had a raspberry almond tart, which was dry. But the coffee was nice as usual.

Costa, if you are going to have such complicated drinks on the menu, put more staff on at lunchtime. I've never seen so many people walk out in frustration.

Not very happy about the way one of the staff was responding to a complaint when the iced drink had issues. However, one of the new staff members who started today had the best quality of customer service. Very polite & understanding. Very happy with her & the 3 stars are for her behaviour not for the drinks unfortunately.

Went in for a coffee today, most of the table were stacked with dirty pots, only two members of staff (1 of which was a new person). Waited 20 minutes to get served. The coffee, well it wasn't, it was just frothy warm milk which tasted awful. Everyone was being served in 'take away' cups even though they were sitting in. This isn't the first time this has happened in this particular Costa but it will be the last. We love Costa but this is one establishment we won't be visiting again.

Really slow service people walking out because it's so slow

Wouldn't return again. Brought 3 drinks that were ok (had better). Considering it was quiet waited 15mins for drinks, had to clean a table myself before sitting down (only 2 other tables in use), the whole place was a mess & needed sweeping.

Long queue with 5 or 6 working...think they had training on a Saturday, one man walked out , realky poor with dirty tables. Unusual for Costa but not good and didn't seem to realise the customers really unhappy queuing for so long

We are rather devout Costa fans. However, our visit to Ashby Costa saw us leaving without a purchase. The place was so grubby that it put us off completely. Very poor. #costa

Chocolate Orange Hot Chocolate delicious 😋

Queued to get in for about 15 minutes just before the second England covid lockdown, also Ashby had just had 'buy one get on free' coupons through the letter boxes I suppose made it worse. I had a cinnamon cappuccino (£2.95), which was different as it didn't need sugar. My wife had a standard cappuccino(£?), which she said ' was very nice '. We also had a Terry's chocolate orange muffin, which was nice and an 'Aftereight' muffin, which was a bit like eating toothpaste. Both were £2.20 each There are toilets for both men and women. I also can't see any issues with anyone who may have mobility problems, as it's all on one level. So I guess both wheelchair and pushchair friendly.

Service was a little slow but to be expected with social distancing. The place is a little dirty and I think the sofas are really tatty and ready for the skip.

I’m always in Ashby as Costa is the place to go for a good coffee, however a few members of the staff have no people skills and frankly quite rude. I was in the queue standing on the foot step spot on the floor and a staff member over the counter shouted I needed to step back and it’s 2 meters apart. I said we are all on the spots and she says ‘oh’ and walks off. On another trip here I see that they only serve two people at a time which is great and safe, love that. However it seems to be if your a regular customer that they are fond of then they get served as well making it three people so very frustrating for the rest of us to see and witness.

Service in this costa is soooooo slow ten minutes and we have moved two metres half a dozen people so far come in and walked out.

Went today for a late lunch with my son. We waited quite a while as there were only 3 staff seemingly working. I have not been to Costa since we were locked down as it always seems extremely busy. Was i impressed with the Covid safety? No. So, we got our food and went to find a table. I was apprehensive because whilst queuing, i watched one person clearing tables but there was no sanitiser applied immediately and there was no indication through a label or sign to say which tables had been thoroughly cleaned down and which hadn't. Customers were sitting at cleared tables which hadn't been sanitised. I was concerned that there were still fabric covered chairs in the cafe which cannot be scrubbed down and sanitised. In addition,the lady collecting the used crockery had the job of cleaning the toilet. Worryingly wearing her same uniform as she collected empties and brought back clean crocks to the front. I would have thought a disposable apron and gloves should be worn when transitioning between roles. Will i return? Erm, not for a long time. There are plenty of outlets to get my coffee fix and plenty of outlets who take my safety and that of my sons more seriously. Honestly, i expected better from such a popular chain. In the least, i would expect more sanitising stations.

Even taking Covid19 into account this place had the slowest service ever. The coffee was very good but the young staff need a manager who can help them improve.

A nice ambience and atmosphere. Clean ~ well spaced. Friendly staff and some nice tasty vegan food and drinks. Shall call in again when we're in the area. Yes I recommend it. Perfect if perhaps a quick break or a time to relax a little longer. Thankyou
