Costa Coffee in East Devon

Nice toasties, quick service and good drinks, the place was clean and there was no queue, I got served pretty much immediately after walking in.

In the centre of Axninminster near the church and car parks. Ideal for a snack and a quick coffee. Food is the Costa standard selection but this is one of the better coffee shops

Visited for a coffee, the shop was very clean and tidy, staff were friendly Americana coffee was very good one of good Costa coffee shops I have visited, worth a visit

Due to an injury I am on crutches. When I got in to the store, it was not very busy and two staff behind the counter, they blatantly saw I was on crutches . I ordered drinks for myself and friend who was joining me in the next ten minutes or so. Drinks being made I sat down to await drink order to be completed, unfortunately my friend was delayed. The costa member of staff called out that my drink order was ready,bear in mind the staff had seen I was on crutches and would be unable to carry the drinks myself. I stood to attempt to walk without my crutches, however was extremely uncomfortable and going against medical advice. The staff member made NO attempt to offer to help carry the drinks for me. Yes I could have asked but would have been more courteous for the staff to offer. Luckily another customer could see I was struggling and carried my drinks. My disability is temporary, however if this is how your staff treat their restricted customers then it is an extremely poor training process.

My husband went in to Costa to get 2 takeaway drinks as we were on holiday with the dog . it was while I waited outside with her that I noticed a dog lying down under a table and a sign saying dogs were welcome. on the left hand side as you enter the tables are marked with a dog paw in the corner for you to sit at. So I went in and we both then sat down with our drinks . When you've got a dog these sort of places are great !

costa coffee always good even though i don't like the company as they pay staff badly and don't pay taxes in the UK

Thursday 8th September we were in the Market Town of Axminster and we popped in here for a coffee. It is a modern and spacious branch of Costa set in an old department store. It has a semicircular glass frontage, an ideal spot to sit in one of the many very comfortable armchairs, with a coffee and watch the goings on along the street outside. When ordering our coffees, two flat whites, £3.15 each, we were informed by a cheerful member of staff, that the dishwasher was broken so our coffees would be served in paper cups. I must be honest and say that we are not fans of drinking from paper cups, much prefer the taste from a china cup. We did sit in one of the armchairs in the window with our coffees, which were good but would have been better in a china cup. The windows could do with a bit of a clean. It was obviously rather busy here earlier due to the number of empty uncleared tables. It does not take much time or effort to clean up and wipe down tables especially when using paper cups.

I called in here with my family. The windows and door were filthy, as was the floor and tables. The toilet was absolutely dire, the sink hadn’t been cleaned in years. The soap wasn’t working. I reported this and was ignored. I went back and said I’m not sure if you heard me. I was told “they know and have reported it, but whether or not it will ever get fixed, who knows?” Coffee was cold. Wasn’t asked how I liked my tea and it hardly had any milk in and was full so no capacity to add anymore. Two young girls who lacked customer service , didn’t smile, weren’t friendly, and was just told to hang on when I tried to speak twice. I generally avoid Costa’s because I hate their unisex toilets which are generally disgusting. This entire coffee shop was awful, definitely regret the visit and wish I’d walked further along and found the independent coffee shop with much better reviews. Avoid!

Now back opening at 8 am - rather than 7.30 am and its a nightmare! One member of staff rushed off their feet, huge queues, poor service and card machine always out of order. This is Costa at its worst!

Have never been in such a filthy disgusting COSTA COFFEE before. The inside decor was so tired with tatty old tables and chairs and dirty sticky uncleared table everywhere you looked. We waited ages in the queue as only 2 servers who looked no more than 15. To top it all we ordered 2 pastries which were hard and very stale and inedible. To be be fair they did replace our pastries with almond slices but can honestly say these to were not fresh either and left. The outside of the building was very rundown and we were quite shocked that this was a Costa coffee building. This was not a nice experience and not expected from this famous coffee chain. Needs serious updating.

Stood in the queue and twice the woman serving allowed someone to come to the front of the queue and served them !A man said to her " what about the queue" and she just looked at him and carried on serving the queue jumper! I was so disgusted I put the food I was carrying back and walked out. Terrible atmosphere and service. Gives Costa a bad name and looking at the reviews not for the first time!!

Extremely rude staff, to the point where a customer in front of us had a go at the man serving, as he was so rude to him. Also not the most straight forward on where to stand when waiting for takeaway things, you just get in the way

The two male baristas are consistently abrupt and unfriendly, as though they’d prefer to be somewhere else. You need to improve your staff training, Costa! Coffee #1 is way ahead in this regard.

Went to costa this morning, requested 2 drinks. One wasn’t not made correctly as when got back to the car it was cold. ( the costa in Axminster wasn’t busy and we at the times were the only people there) Went back in and requested a new one or a refund and was declined. There was two young lads working and much preferred to be somewhere else.

Stopped for a quick bite to eat and a drink on a lovely sunny weekend in Axminster, however was very disappointed in the service we received and quality of food and drink! We made a large order and the majority of our food and drink was cold, not happy as me and my 3 friends were the only ones in the shop and the two Barista's didn't seem to be having a good day and would rather be on there phones or not interested in making our order. Will not be visiting again until changes are made, I can see were not the only ones to have experienced this quality of service.

Visited today , coffee was good , the toilets had no soap in dispenser ,the floor was not very clean

I sat down and almost fell through a chair which was the first of many issues I experienced, the coffee tastes like an elephant had a piss into a trash can and they mixed it with coffee, don't come here they have Corona time...

Me and my Brother's went into Costa in Axminster after school on Thursday at around 4 30 for a quick drink before our dad picked us up to bring us home, we were served by a very grumpy man who muttered under his breath at us and was clearly making fun of us to his colleague in the back of the shop. He had no manners and was totally rude. Normally our experience at Costa is good but this was awful.

Always clean and tidy. A comfy place to visit for a cup of coffee and if you are hungry a snack or slice of cake. Friendly efficient service.

Service was poor, unfriendly. When asked what size coffee I said large please, and the reply was 'the largest we do is medium! Customer service training badly needed.

Was lovely that we were allowed to take our dog in with us, so many places don't allow dogs. Hubby had a mocha, and millionaire shortbread, I had a tea and a ginger biscuit shared with my pooch. Plenty of seating, variety of chairs n sofas. Clean and fab service

Called in here for coffee during a visit to Axminster coffee was ok but I have never seen so much sticky crud on a table before your hands stuck to it. I certainly wouldn’t like to eat off it. Needs a good clean

Usual snacks and drinks right in the centre. Best bit is they are dog friendly. Bacon butt6 and coffee is good on a chilly day . Recommend.

Good coffee and the hot chocolate especially good. Lovely raspberry & white chocolate muffins & millionaire shortcake. Friendly polite staff.

This branch far surpasses any Costs I have visited in years. It is clean, welcoming, plentiful food offerings (very unusual as they usually run stock so low I find) and the staff are so courteous. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Enjoy!

Wednesday 8th August we were out and about in Axminster and we popped in here for a coffee and a bit of a rest.This branch of Costa is vast with predominantly glass frontage, ideal spot to sit and watch the world go by in Axminster, enjoying a great cup of coffee.We ordered 2 cappuccinos with cinnamon sprinkles, £2.65 eachGood coffee, friendly and efficient staff, in pleasant clean surroundings, we will be back.
