Used to be run like clockwork but now often anyone's guess as to what it's opening hours will be. Coffee still decent but over last 2 months opening times have been sketchy. Other times there's been a surplus of staff, 4-5 sometimes serving, but tripping over each other with the limited space behind the counter. Hoping 2022 brings stability and consistency.

This is a typical Costas reasonably clean and tidy tables and fairly popular with the locals. We found a comfortable table and enjoyed good hot coffee on a cold and wet day!

myself and partner called in to the High street costa, it was very much business as usual lots of customers the hot chocolate was good the cakes were not all that I'm afraid, as the had been out for a while. The staff were good and coped with the volume of customers, as it was busy, sometimes the cleaning does seem to suffer but it is understandable.

My wife comes from a coffee culture country, I come from Chippenham.Though the coffee was Ok. The whole place is a disgrace, dirty and disgusting. Costa staff read your reviews, are your homes this dirty?

Costa, what can I say that hasnt already been said, it is what it is, a casual grab a Coffee and pastry place you can find all over the UK and some other places around the Med, Valletta Airport in Malta for instance. Coffee is consistant and palletable. I still maintain their prices are high, however, they have allot of share holders to keep on side.

Nice refurb but so messy. Tables not cleared and it was hard to find a clear one. Even when it was empty the opportunity was not taken to tidy. Of course it is now 5.30 and staff are galvanised in to action to clear up before closing

Treated the kids to some Christmasy drinks today (17 Nov). My daughter’s Belgian chocolate frappuccino (or whatever it’s called) was very sweet and she asked for some milk to water it down. The lovely barista ladies said that was probably not a good idea as it might not mix in properly. They must have seen the disappointment on my daughter’s face, as when we were halfway down the high street one of the ladies came running after us with a different, much less sweet strawberry concoction. How lovely is that?! Well impressed with these very cheerful, attentive ladies!

We visited on a Friday afternoon to try the new Christmas range and were not disappointed. The staff are very friendly and helpful, we had take away drinks and were very satisfied!

Travelling back from holiday, we stopped for a coffee in Chippenham, and decided on Costa, for a well-needed coffee.It was served as normal by really friendly staff, but on this occasion there was a queue of people, and the waiting time for our coffee was a liitle slow, as there was only one lady preparing all drinks.More staff would have been beneficial!

I was hiking from Peterborough to Plymouth and tried to end up in a town or city in the evening, where I would have a coffee in the local Costa branch and charge my tablet at the same time.The coffee here was great, as expected but the service was a little slow, when compared with all the other branches I had recently visited. But overall a decent coffee is all I needed!

We visited this Costa however like most of the high street stores, its in out in out as usual. I'm not a big fan of Chippenham myself so didn't stay long. Have been to better stores.

Queued for ages - I’m not local and I go to Costa a lot in London, where I’m used to speedy service. I was shocked how slow Chippenham was - as a national chain they should be working on pace.

Luckily we beat the queue and were served quickly enough, the lady that served me was super nice and cheery and very friendly and made a good hot chocolate but it took long enough. We took our seat - the cafe was grubby and just could do with a deep deep clean overall. Also £6.70 for 2 hot chocolates seems expensive to me.

Chippenham has a plethora of coffee shops. Costa needs to buck up its act if it is going to retain its customers as currently customers don't seem top of the list. The service is slow, the staff are surly and the café is filthy. Bye bye Costa. Hello one of the others.

Oh what a shame, the Chippenham Costa coffee has just lost my custom after using it since opening. The staff today were abrupt, curt and clearly not interested in customer care. This was particularly the case of the lady in blue who I am guessing was the manager in charge. Perhaps the next time someone makes a simple request for some chocolate Sprinkle's on their hot chocolate she will not react so aggressively. I guess cafe Nero will now become my local coffee shop.

I think Costa have lost their way recently, but Costa Chippenham certainly has not. We experienced superb customer service, friendly chat and coffee served with a smile.

Una cosa buena sobre todo es la coherencia. Costas Sabes lo que vas a conseguir aquí. El personal era un poco de holgura en el Costa-dieron mis bebidas orden equivocada y sólo tenía una risa. No te preocupes - el estándar era el típico café de buena calidad.

Metimos en y lo encontramos lleno. Personal insuficiente. Mesas cubiertas con vajilla antigua. Finalmente encontramos una mesa y aclaró la vajilla. Le pregunté a un miembro del personal para limpiar la mesa que hizo. Todavía estaba sucia. Lo llamé, y de nuevo con un paño destruidos sucia. Me di cuenta después que entre las dos tablas juntas era una cantidad considerable de comida. No cabe duda de que había estado allí un rato. Había comida en el piso. Este lugar es caro, así que seguramente podrían mantenerlo limpio. No volveremos.

Pasó por conseguir bebidas mientras la alimentación del bebé, elegimos como había espacio para el cochecito mientras que alternativas eran un poco llenas.

Por dónde empiezo. . . . . Totalmente terrible y muy desagradable lugar para ir. Montones de tierra bajo barrido donde el mostrador de comida y bajo un mesa. Cinta adhesiva la planta juntos, que es una amenaza y es parte de la salud y la seguridad. Los inodoros estaban olía a orina y líquido en el suelo. Manchas en el inodoro. Yo iba a tener un sándwich pero pareció mejor, debido a su estado. La bebida caliente que tenía estaba hecho de leche vieja caliente. la actitud cuando le preguntamos sobre era como si ella no podía ser molestada. Las mesas no estaban despejadas pero personal charlando en el taller como bien en la parte de atrás.

Utilice esta a menudo. Muy bueno para aperitivos y bebidas - agua caliente y fría. Prueba el sándwiches tostados. Ahora haciendo bebidas especiales de navidad

Bueno, esto es sólo una casa de café, pero en eso supuestamente de calidad y creo que se podría conseguir un buen sandwich. Nada cerca. Le sobra detalle pero si no me crees entonces probar el rollo de pollo y bacon (presuntamente) - bocadillo (sospecho...

La Costa Café en la calle alta en Chippenham es su tipo promedio de costa que he podido experimentar, ya que mover a Wiltshire. Por lo general no muy limpio y dirigido por niños de escuela en los fines de semana. Aunque este sí algo que nunca había visto antes, en el medio de un sábado por la tarde uno de los miembros de personal llevada green bin por el centro de la tienda, preguntando a los clientes que pagan para moverse fuera del camino. Yo estaba muy sorprendido. También me dejó en la duda de si la ubicación tenía un limpiador, si tenían un empleado quizás deberían mostrar cómo utilizar un duster. Su no una habilidad difícil de dominar, pero sin duda la más limpia en este elude Costa.

Triviel point? Today popped in for lunch time refueling, personally prefer the Cortado size of coffee (it's the one in a small tumbler) but yesterday used another Costa in South Wales, and for months the price of a Cortado has been £1.95 (except at Costa Motorway Services £2.67......... always been a mystery, but hay motorway services - different plant?) Oh, Chippenham charge £2.15 for a Cortado. It may only be 20 pence, perhaps the Chief Exc of Costa, why? (AND IF THE PRICE HAS GONE UP 20%) GUESS we know the answer, it's to do with Brexit

We all fancied a coffee and quick bite before heading home after our visit to Chippenham. I found it pleasant enough. The young lady that was clearing up was very helpful she got us a takeaway box as my daughter didn't finish her sandwich. We felt a bit sorry for her because I think some crockery ended up on the floor from obtaining our box, but she was calm and kept smiling even though I bet she felt embarrassed. There was a lady serving in a slightly different coloured top and she appeared to be a little sarcastic, in a short swift manner saying "you better clear that up" bit obvious really but she never asked if she was OK. I didn't like that attitude to one of your team. The coffee and food was fine

As costa coffee shops go this one is average, staff not that friendly at all here and it needed a good clean in the bathrooms!!

Watford Gap services Costa refused to allow me to have a cup of warm tap water to heat baby bottle. Awful staff advised me to use nearby microwave (all parents know microwave heating of baby bottles causes uneven heating and burns baby mouths). Very disappointing, not just obstructive and unhelpful attitude, actually dangerous. Obviously no health and safety training.

Costa is deffinety my usual. Go here basically every day before work and when I'm in town for a coffee.. More recently for their new coffee coolers which are lush!Yesterday however I found myself feeling ever more annoyed as I stood in line and waited for 20 mins on a very quiet afternoon,with 5 people stood in line waiting. One girl was stocking up and another was serving and making drinks.. The girl stocking could see more and more people walking in and joining the line.. But still continued adding sandwiches to the fridge Instead of serving. The girl making the drinks was taking her sweet time and chatting and fumbling about and there was 5 of us waiting! She took way over 5 mins serving one customer and making their drinks and when you have a line of people it should just be organised better! she continued to chat and make conversation which I get is the polite way to be however, When it takes that long to wait in a line and get a drink when your paying £3:85 for that one drink it's really not okay. Hope next time is better.

It's Costa so you know what you are getting. No issues there. It is a rainy bank holiday and it's packed. The staff are friendly but slow, disorganised and not focused. Floor is dirty - 20 min wait for drinks - glad it's not a lunch break. Plus side coffee is ok. Folk after me getting drinks - I'm still smiling as I wait for my friends drink.

This is a nice place to have a drink to catch up with your friends. The staff were not pushy for us to leave and it was a quick service.thank you

I'm not entirely sure what's happened here, but the staff who had run the place for many years have all disappeared, taking high-quality service with them. Now the café is staffed by seemingly inexperienced baristas who take a very long time to concoct the various drinks on offer, meaning that the queue is often up to the door. Don't take this as a sign of popularity - it's due to incredibly slow serving speeds. As someone who doesn't really enjoy the ambience of a chain coffee house, but does enjoy their easy, filling and huge coffee portions, I would rather be able to nip in and out in an instant, rather than be forced to wait around while the staff take their time.

I've been to a lot of Costa's (I have £50 on my card) and this is one of the worst. Poor customer service- they did not speak to me other than asked me for drink, no real eye contact, no thank you. Staff just talked between themselves like customer did not exist. Filthy shop, tables uncleared, ones that were, were filthy. Poor show Costa, don't relax too much on your laurels Picture show cleared table!

Costa is our coffee of choice but so much depends upon the franchisee. Coffee taste usually guaranteed but this one lacks the ambience of the any others we've visited.More concerning, and always an indication of the true quality of an establishment, are the toilets and to be greeted by such a dirty looking lavatory seat summed up the establishment completely.They're not alone. Some Nero's and Coffee#!'s have also suffered from this lack of detail. Come on guys get your acts together. Appreciate that café wc's have become the replacement for public conveniences in many towns and are frequented by non customers but do keep on top of the quality / cleanliness.

Very friendly staff and great choice. I love coming here with friends. Service was a little slow but staff very friendly and seating area very clean.

This costa coffee doesn't disappoint. If you are looking for a costa coffee and some of their yummy cakes, biscuits, muffins, sandwiches etc. then stop off here. There are seating possibilities and you can sit outside or inside - so whatever tickles your fancy. The coffee is good, as you would expect, and it's typically served quickly and hot. They can get busy but they always try to serve you as quickly as possible and the quality is the same - no compromise. Great place for stopping for a drink, taking the kids or even having a brief business discussion.

The staff at this particular branch are very good with their regulars and generally know, in my case seasonal, what drinks I will have. They never seem to be fazed and treat customers well.

Was disappointed with this visit. I know it is Costa policy but I do object to being charged extra for decaffeinated coffee.Many tables had not been cleared and a number of others were occupied by people just using the free Wi Fi. It puts people off when having purchased a coffee you are unable to find a clean table.Another no no for me was that they allow dogs into the cafe. As food is served uncovered I would class this as a health issue.The Manager needs to set more acceptable standards if Costa are to continue to survive in a town that boasts a number of other retail Coffee outlets.

As with very many Costa coffee outlets it can be particularly difficult to unwind with a hot beverage when the atmosphere is so chaotic?! Crowded seating area, long queue, terrible ordering system, usually minimal availability table wise and generally noisy! All due respect for the Baristas however, having to serve coffee after coffee after coffee. Perhaps that explains the sky high prices?!Much rather put my money into an independently run cafe.

Great place to chill over coffee with friends. Great service wonderful staff great tasting coffee. I recommend this place in Chippenham.

I've had cause to complain about this Costa before when I asked for a clean cup for my husband's mug of tea and was refused. Costa's response my complaint indicated that they didn't really care. Even on the days when the service area is packed with staff their service is slow at best and the last time we went we ordered a couple of their summer menu drinks which were watery and virtually tasteless.It's a shame because normally Costa are very good.

This is a great place to chill normally and I would recommend it, however it would appear that a change of management and local staffing has lead to a less inviting atmosphere and the service has suffered a great deal. We will keep trying and hope for a return to normal services soon.

I had tea, no tea cups, had coffee cups, 1/4 inch thick, cups all worn and marked, dreadful, do not go there .Service was servile too much trouble to ensure customer was happy with visit had to make fuss to get tea cups which came still wet from being washed .Goodby costa my custom goes to a provider who wants to give proper service to its clients

We regularly pop in on a Saturday when it is usually busy.... i think this is a credit to the staff as they are organised and all seem to know there role making the service as quick as possible. They have lots of separate seating areas whilst still achieving a nice open feel, I am looking forward to sitting outside when the weather warms up a little. Our two drinks do cost about £6 however the quality is brilliant making it well worth the price. Your hot chocolate with orange syrup and cream is delicious!! x

Even though we had coffee in the morning at our hotel, during our trip we stopped several times at Costa for a much needed caffeine boost. The prices seemed to be about 1/2 that of Starbucks. One visit we had a muffin and pastry and they were fresh and tasty.

what can I say, really over priced, coffee at its best but expensive for the area, lacked atmosphere and the toilets grubby, with toilet paper litter on floor, not pleasant.

Usual Costa Coffee but the Cortado is excellent and worth braving the pushchairs just for that. Always plenty of newspapers which is a bonus

went there for a quick cup of hot Choc, and it may have taken me a bit longer to drink than i thought! it was superb though, and the quality definitely is worth the price

Over priced over rated. Indifferent staff. Too many of this kind of place in our small town. The worst kind of coffee that takes for ever to make for no obvious reason. Sorry!

After a busy morning shopping we were in need of a coffee. We odered are drinks and sat down in the lovely seat and relaxed. The staff were happy and the place was clean.

You know what you're getting when you go to Costa's! This coffee shop is nice and big, yet quite cosy. Some really comfy sofas at the back to sink into. Service is good and tables are kept clean.For those sunny warm days which come a few times a year, there's seating outside on the pavement to watch the world go by shopping while you relax with your favourite coffee and snack - perrfect!

The staff in this coffee shop are really nice. Coffee is brill and tosties are yummy! Free wifi is a bonus! High chairs fab! 2 toilets and outside seating! Best coffee place in Chippenham. Keep it up costa!
