Just had cappuccino & a tea for the wife nice thirty minutes spent on a rainy day

Very nice coffee. The staff is very attentive. Nice place overall.

Toilets upstairs were unclean..cafe was unkempt ...staff were lovely though! Food wasnt warmed thoroughly ...drinks were luke warm

It used to be a lovely place…years ago… not anymore. Smell bad inside, dirty and looks poor tables…the place need refurbishing!

Poorly service. My kid can’t used the toilet coz people from street used it. Not fair. And girl who working around 5pm very rude.

I am a regular customer I normally go to the one in the Ridings but ocassionally call at the Northgate one . Won’t bother in future . I ordered a Toastie and a cappuccino. The Toastie was not cut all the way through so had to ask for a knife , also had to ask for a napkin but was given some kitchen roll . Sat down and wasn’t given a spoon for my coffee . I was like the two young girls working there couldn’t be bothered . It was New Year’s Day but the service should still be the same . They closed up the cabinet with the sandwiches and toasties in and told a customer there was none left but there was . A they left and didn’t buy anything . Such a shame as normally ok .

Went in today 1st November. No pleasant customer service at all. Wont be going again

If I could give ZERO I would I was passed over while waiting for my drinks as other of the guy doing the coffee served his friends very clickey now here I have used it for a few yrs now but no more and will actively discourage friends.

Worst service ever. Don’t have clue what to do, big mess in restaurant. Cups not availably…only paper cups.. we didn’t get what we order..

lovely coffee however the lady behind the counter was quite rude, no customer service whatsoever made me feel quite uncomfortable place wasn’t busy so order was fulfilled very quickly

Truly unacceptable! We were in Wakefield for a family members birthday who is in a wheelchair a member of out group went ahead and tried to open both doors he didn't know how so asked how to do it and I was then told that cant happen so we went down the road to a far better and more accommodating café.

Only got a cup of tea as waiting for a train. Friendly service. Everything else was Costa 101, not a fan and never will be. Just not my cup of tea

We were having a quiet coffee and a sandwich, when a group of Albanian or as other people call them, displaced people, came into the shop, there must have been at least a dozen of them, some where just picking up bottles of water and putting them into their pockets without paying. One lady, felt so uncomfortable, she asked my husband and I, if she could sit with us. I know that they have to go somewhere, but to not pay, then make people feel scared, one guy was trying to pass a number on a crumpled piece of paper to another lady, luckily she told him to get lost. So, come on Costa in wakefield near the cathedral, it's about time you put a stop to this, before you loose all your other customers.

Coffee nice as always but their disabled toilet is disgusting not been cleaned for at least a week filthy

Waited a long time to be served after paying. Spotted wrong milk being used for my drink. I questioned why, the young lady told me they didn't have the correct milk, did I want anything else. When I said, yes I wanted to be told when I ordered that I could not have the drink I wanted, not only to be told if you spotted the wrong milk was being used after waiting a long time for your drink. Not even to be asked if I minded a substitute milk being used for my drink. The young lady then advised me she couldn't be bothered to have this conversation. Did I want anything else! I declined and requested a refund, at which point the young lady advised I should consider the possibility that someone might be having a really bad day. Well, my day wasn't going brilliantly was it! Had she considered how my day was going when she told me she couldn't be bothered with this conversation. It did not make my day any better to be made to feel guilty because I had the audacity to expect what I had paid for!

Absolutely appalling service I received this morning at Asda Costa durker . Called in with my daughter and because the young girl serving was too busy chatting to her colleagues she didn’t take for my daughters juice I paid for a few items when I looked round I realised the juice wasnt with my items on the table I assumed I’d paid for everything! I went back and explained and the young girl asked me to take take 1 which I did ! Next my husband meets me and is queuing for a coffee and comes back to the table saying I’m not getting a coffee those young girls/ staff are all talking about you at the counter considering it’s a full que too for customers to listen ? I said why what have they said ? He replies all accusing you of not paying for the juice and said I’m having it out with her! I was enraged I went to the counter and questioned there incompetent service and said how rude and extremely unprofessional and disrespectful they are ! I left the coffee and food and walked out but I paid for the juice which they had forgotten to take payment for! A customer approached me and said I would put in a strong complaint about this unprofessionalism of this place . I run a cafe my self and if any of my staff behaved in that manner towards my customers they would not be returning to work for me. I think they need a adult on site in charge and not leave it for kids to run ! I won’t be returning

Lovely coffee and service. Lost major points for the customer toilets which were filthy, dusty and smelly. Absolutely no way that is being cleaned regularly or even daily.

Well this is my second visit to a local costa in a month, the first Barnsley, today Wakefield. I have to say I am unimpressed with the cleanliness of all areas, especially tables in the restaurant and toilet downstairs as well as stairs up to toilet upstairs. It’s literally filthy. I went to upstairs toilet as downstairs disabled toilet was disgusting. The tables clearly never get wiped. Costa is really going down in my opinion. It will be a long time before I ever visit again.

The staff are generally great, but in all honesty the cafe is a bit of a dive. Upon entering you are met with two broken glass doors, which have been broken for weeks. The cafe needs a refurb as the floors are patchy, and the store is missing basic items such as napkins. The toilet upstairs needs more directions to it (it's like a maze) up a few flights of stairs. There is a disabled toilet ground level though. The coffees are significantly worse than at the Costa in Trinity Walk a short stroll away, with the foam on the late looking like dish bubbles. Visit the Costa at Trinity Walk instead.

Once again, no gluten-free food even though they had just had a delivery of sandwiches. It's hard to spend more than £8 Toilets poor (back to cafe Nero)

Normally I never go to this Costa because the service is ridiculous. But the team they had in today worked really well together. The barista, I think his name was Andreas, very talented! The fastest I’ve ever seen my latte made! And it was delicious. He is a genious!

Best service by far at the northgate shop. I will be using this one every time I’m in Wakefield.

Popped in here for a quick sandwich before an appointment. The staff (2 girls, I didn't catch their names) were so lovely to myself +each individual who came in for food. We left feeling valued as a customer. The caramel shortbread was tasty too

This cafe is not clean to a standard that is expected The upstairs toilet is not clean nor is the disabled toilet downstairs with wet on the floor and grubby handrails The cafe floor does not appear to be kept clean The stage service is good

What can I say, I'm a regular customer of this Costa coffee shop and can honestly say, when I'm in Wakefield and want a coffee, this is always my first choice.

Lovely drinks and relaxed atmosphere

Called in later on a Sunday afternoon, simple order went terribly wrong, felt like banging my head against a brick wall. Once we got the payment and price finally sorted, the order included a kids mini hot chocolate, barista just not concentrating at all and made this drink far too hot. All in all poor visit.

Quick service and great usual Costa coffee

Bought a coffee to take out, bit weak tbh, usually stronger. Nice sandwiches and cakes. Can eat in or out if want.

This hotel is situated about 10-15 mins walk from the seafront and is handy for the Golden Mile. The rooms are clean and with tea/coffee facilities. The breakfast included fruit/cereals plus a full English too and was great value. Meals are available in the Corner flag restaurant, but we'd already planned to eat out. The big plus is that some of the rooms have a pitch view and although we're not huge football fans, it was a real novelty. See the pictures from our room below. Car parking is free on a first come first served basis, but there is a pay and display car park across the road. All in all, a good hotel to stay in for a long weekend or mid-week break.

I went there today and the staff were rude and when I asked if the points went through they said it doesn’t matter then I asked the person who gave me the bill and she said the points system is offline and I’ve had the same problem before that they didn’t give me points on my app when I bought a coffee so they are not bothered about checking to see if the points went through on your app and they don’t do good customer service so I recommend go to the one in Trinity Walk as they are friendly staff who makes sure you earn points when you buy a coffee and do good customer service so I’m going to go to the one in Trinity Walk from now on.

I cannot fault this place whatsoever! Over the past few months I must have visited this costa three, maybe even four, times a week and they get the drinks perfect every time! Have treated myself to a cheeky muffin a few times as well and they are delicious. They’ve laid the place out really well to fit in with COVID laws and the staff are pleasant, not exactly going to win a customer service of the year award but nice enough for a quick interaction.

Couldn't agree more with an earlier post regarding current staff being rude. It used have such a warm friendly vibe & service with a smile...where ever you are please come back we miss you! We called in for coffee & cake day before lockdown as a treat on an unusually freezing cold afternoon. Both large doors were wide open where one would suffice as it's a smaller Costa than some. One of the staff was constantly taking rubbish outside rushing backwards & forwards through the cafe while the other behind the counter was heavy handed at cleaning & slamming cutlery & crockery onto hard surfaces the whole time we were there as if they were about to close up for the day which was not the case. While this was going on they were shouting across to one other, I'll do this while you do that. Don't get me wrong team work's all well & good in the right setting but customers don't need to be subjected to how the cafe's run behind the scenes & played out in full view when you're a paying customer wanting to relax as you eat & drink. We could not wait to leave, we left after 15 mins after gulping down hot drinks as we were so frozen & felt like we were in the way. It was a relief to leave needless to say we won't be going back. Much better service at Trinity walk, lovely staff 🤗

I popped in today on my lunch break for a my regular caffeine perk, when I witnessed a massive form of discrimination! A gentleman was accompanying his friend, from speaking to man afterwards I learnt this is his client, he is a carer for vulnerable adults, upon entry he was asked to wear a mask this man clearly stated he was medically exempt and very politely so too!! The staff massively over reacted refusing to serve this customer and his client, which during this time became obviously distressed! I'm am fully aware of current rules and regulations but are you a massive franchise aware of customer and public rights?? Your staff need training in discrimination and factual mask protocol!! I was disgusted to see such an abuse of power!! Sorry Costa, Starbucks here i come!!👊❤

They sell a good range of coffee, friendly staff and some where warm and dry to sit and enjoy your coffee.

Go here every Wednesday with mum while shopping in town. Normally it's clean and tidy but on our last visit it wasn't. Three people were serving but no one was clearing tables and we counted 12 tables empty but in need of clearing. In fact there was even an elderly lady piling crockery onto trays to help clear space. Unacceptable!

This is a typical Costa and is not really any better or worse than others. However a window was boarded up at the time of my visit which did make the exterior look a bit scruffy and neglecte

Service assistant wasn't very forthcoming, spoke with a mumbling tone. Various things needed repairing inside the building like a broken light with a carrier bag over it. Toilets weren't very guided, felt like I had snuck off somewhere upstairs. Faulty push for flushing toilet and flickering light for hand dryer. One toilet for the whole shop is a bit minimal. Glass on door upon entry is broken so can't view as you walk in.

Too expensive for what you get. It's ok coffee at expensive price's. Cakes are nice but once again far too expensive.

Disappointing ice cold frappe! A drink costing £3.20 should be at least palatable. Not made with luke warm milk from the side, chilled with a copious amount of ice cubes chucked into the glass and the barista, cringing whilst serving it to ne, hoping I wouldn't complain! 🤣 🤣 Huh! No such luck!
