Chaotic. Not enough staff and staff were inefficient. Queues out of the door and 2 staff members chatting about what to do with the receipts and amongst themselves. Waited over 15mins to get served. Cafe area very hot and stuffy. On a positive note the staff were friendly and pleasant, ginger cake exceptionally nice and out door seating a bonus.

Worst Costa experience. Particularly the unprofessionalism of the staff. Not particularly busy, however not many tables free as they were all dirty with empty mugs and trays on. They got my order wrong and instead of offering to change it and refund the difference I got a snotty “sorry” as he walks away. The worst part about this experience is the customers were unable to have their own conversations and catch up as the staff were very loudly having their extremely immature conversations. One young lad even walks through the cafe pretending to be “gansta.” One lady who may have been a supervisor spoke down to a young girl working on the till, laughed and was extremely rude and belittled in front of customers when she asked her a very valid question. It seems to be run by children! Would not visit this one again!

The coffee and frappe are delicious. That's all the positives I can say. Every table is filthy, the toilet is unqualified.

Nice coffee but for some reason it gets very noisy, way noisier than other cafes.

Absolutely boiling. The most oppressive heat I have ever experienced in a retail space. Staff look sweltering. An elderly lady made her way outside and said she felt like she might collapse. Area Manager commented to me when on her visit TWO WEEKS ago that the engineer was on his eat that day. He ordered parts and nothing was fixed. The area manager then commented that I would be “complaining it’s too cold when it’s fixed”. She then proceeded to work outside. Staff continue to be professional, helpful and smiley but this is becoming extremely unhealthy. I find it difficult to believe that there are no services available to a company as big as Costa to fix air con or source temp units in less than 5 weeks in the peak of summer.

I'm really annoyed now, this has happened multiple times, it's frustrating when you spend money and staff don't take the time to make sure the order is correct. Missing items- just not acceptable and plus no straws for the drinks?

Disappointed with the Iced coffee.

This Costa has recently had another refit but nothing really changes . The air con isn't working so it's stiffling in there and unpleasant. Hardly any staff on and all look fed up and miserable as usual, they work at a glacial pace and it's frustrating. Best avoided and it's not cheap either .one of the worse Costas I've been to

Upholstery is dirty, table's were not cleared and staff were not interested in their customers

I love my frappé's. We usually go to the one at teal park. This one on Tritton rd was right next to the shop. It was busy and the poor girl seemed to be running out if everything. Mt Order was a chocolate frappé and my friend had a Raspberry drink. When my Carer picked up the drinks the order was wrong. The assistance said no problem and got some else to do it because everyone coming in was buying food. I got my Chocolate frappé drank it and left.

Since the revamp, noisy and echoey, staff disinterested and most importantly the coffee which is decidedly below par. My flat white was most definitely 'flat' and not in the barrista sense, being lukewarm and bitter. Talking about barristas, I'm unsure whether that appellation can be applied to the counter staff here. Abysmal with no obvious love of the fine art of coffee preparation. At least my Almond croissant faired better. Return visit not on the cards (sigh of relief here from the management of this Costa branch).

Very fast driver kind and polite gret service

Same as any other Costa in the UK. Same menu, same wait times for orders, nothing good or bad..... Just standard Costa.

Good clean place to relax with a coffee. Can be busy during weekends. It's a normal Costa, nothing different than any other Costa.

Dirty chairs, tables and floor, dry day and no reason for grubby surfaces. Possibly the worst costa I've visited, dreary music, no atmosphere, no comfy seats, filthy floor coveted in wrappers, crumbs and stained seats. Coffee was great as always.

The store closes at 7pm so when we entered at around 6:30 to be told we have just cashed up and we’re locking up so what ever you want will be free I was shocked, as we was ordering several more people came in ( much to the annoyance of the staff). They then said they would have to reopen the till and just say that they cashed up by mistake early, extremely unprofessional, once we had sat down they served the other customers and after 10 minutes one gentleman went back up to purchase a packet of crips to be told just take them. At 6:50 a couple came in to be turned away and told we have cashed up now so won’t be serving you , to add there were small flys on all the great cakes and biscuits.

Outstanding service when we visited a few weeks back, an extremely different experience from when we almost walked out once before. The young lady on the till (Claudia) was so happy and greated everyone with a warm smile. Although very busy the team appeared to be working well to ensure a smooth service. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you again.

Staff were not particularly cheerful, hot food was left on the counter whereas in other Costas the hot food was brought to your table. The atmosphere by way of lighting and decor is cold and uninviting. We wouldn't rush back in a hurry.

Came at 630 but the door was locked. People who knew the workers came to the door and were allowed inside.

Asked for no cream on my coffee Frappuccino and they put a tonne of cream on- meaning i couldn’t actually drink it due to dietary needs. Didn’t include a straw. I don’t get how they can get 2 so basic things wrong tbh.

An extremely busy Costa. Staff are brilliant, service is quick and efficient. Tables were cleared quickly. Food and coffee is consistently good, you know what your getting.

Really need to wash tables after being used by customers and sweep the floor. Customers don't want shoes standing in other people's food mess.

Staff were acting childish and immature the whole time whilst in store. The ladies forgot about our drinks so our food went cold by the time we came to eating it. Our cold drinks came out in takeout hot drink cups and one of them was only 3/4 full with cream on top!! Everybody in the queue behind us was getting their drinks before us. Poor service.

Got the mango bubble drink. Could’ve used more flavour and mango bubbles to it. It’s okay tho but might as well get bubble tea for yeh same price.

I ordered at 12.30! It didn't arrive until 2.36!!

Drink not properly packaged. Had leaked into bag and caused it to break through the bottom of the paper bag, immediately dropping through bag and staining carpet on delivery.

Terrible, closes early every night, especially Friday. The staff are there, the signs are out as are all the chairs. Shoddy for anyone shopping. They must not need the custom.

6 people walked out whilst queueing! Long wait. Slow service. All tables dirty and uncleared. Ordered KitKat hot chocolate, actually got mocha KitKat, as did the person next to us. The whole set up is a total shambles, not enough staff or machines to cope with demand. Would not recommend.

Both drinks I ordered were wrong

Very pleasant staff behind the counter this morning. Good clean Costa, relaxing location to plug in your computer and spend a few hours with a large cuppa

Only person in queue, ordered drink and snack, only given the drink and had to ask for the snack to a girl sat on a chair with her back to the counter talking to another member of staff, no serviette, Latte was very weak, toilets were really dirty and this was at 9am on a Sunday, no excuse! Long queue formed but another member of staff working on their laptop at one of the customer tables. I would say poor management. Decor is very bland and no atmosphere. Won't be visiting again.

Sent bacon when I ordered sausage sandwich!

Coffee was lovely & croissant was fresh, tho a little burnt on top. Service with a smile! Only disappointing thing was the seating. This branch doesn't have have any of those nice cosy armchairs that other branches have.

Order incorrect I asked for no sprinkles and got them, ordered cappuccino got a normal coffee

I didn’t receive what I ordered

Went in at 3.55pm and took about 10 minutes to get served. Drinks were placed on a tray but the member of staff didn't say anything. It would have been great if they said 'here you go!' or just cracked a smile. It was challenging trying to find somewhere to sit. 5 tables already had chairs on top of them and all the available tables to sit at were dirty with cups and trays on them. Someone was sweeping the floor, making a big pile of dirt in the middle of the floor, but not clearing any tables. At one point, the sweeping brush was left in the middle of the floor along with the pile of dirt. My partner cleared a table for us to sit at by moving away the dirty cups already there. No-one came to clean the table. One other table was cleaned while we were sitting there, which was next to us and then the chairs put on top. When we left at 4.40pm the tables that were dirty when we came in were all still dirty and needed clearing.

Clean and tidy, drinks and food tasty with a deal on breakfast butties. New decor and furnishings but not at its warmest . Staff as always helpful and friendly. Plentiful parking available.

If you are GLUTEN FREE don’t bother going to Costa anymore ! Went in and was told that the normal gf range has been replaced with the festive sandwich’s that AREN’T gluten free. This seems really unfair and was very disappointing for my family who were looking forward to a family lunch.

Didn’t even bring the food we’d ordered! Drinks were also stone cold.

Every time I order the turkey and trimmings toastie I get something else random. Like today I got a turkey sandwich

Poor customer service and bad attitude. Those staff need some training . Asked for a take away cup and then they split the drink.

Very busy at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon. The coffee and tea was ok but nothing special even though the prices they charge you would think it would be the best coffee/tea for miles around. A slice of cake although very nice again over priced

Great park Newcastle store. Seating was disgusting. Material chairs were heavily stained, crumbs down the back of the chairs, dust. Needs a deep clean also Definitely hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Several Tables were messy with food when the store was quiet. Really disappointed not sure I would return its a shame.

Extremely slow service. I waited 10 minutes for the gent making the coffees to finish the three for the woman in front of me. He got her order wrong, then put my drink in order in a takeaway cup. When I let him know my drink should have been to sit in (part of the experience of a coffee shop is drinking from a proper cup, not a paper one!) he didn't apologise, rather I got to experience a man in his 20s act like a small sulking child while he made the drink again. To make it worse? The coffee itself was horrible. I won't be returning, Nero's is cheaper, the staff are friendlier and quicker and the atmosphere is better in general.

If it closes at 5 why are they out of cakes and most of the chairs are up on the tables at 3pm.

This is not a complaint about the staff. They are rushed off their feet it is a complaint about Costa who have one female toilet for a huge cafe. The toilet sink and floor were disgusting today. The sink needs a deep clean it has hair in the hole. The floor had obvious dirt that has been there a while l complained to the manager and she said she would get it cleaned "now". Costa are cutting important areas all for the God of profit. I have just travelled 4000 miles through Spain and never saw a cafe with a dirtier toilet.

Absolutely shocking, ordered 3 drinks the first time only received 2 and one of them was wrong, ordered the missing drink and the order they got wrong again, to only receive one of the drinks. They don’t even have a phone number and when u ring the number it’s a just eat automated message and they just say to leave a review.

I do come here usually on a weekly basis, but I have to say I do love coming here the staff are lovely and they make a mean small mocha.

Ordered a coffee frappe with almond milk with cream and it came with no cream it does say on the ticket black and white coffee frappe almond milk with light cream clearly someone cant read. Really not hard to check the order before sending it out. Unless!

Busy at the till point so clearly popular, but all staff were working hard, served very quickly once ordered, loved that there are reduced items in the lunch fridge. My table was clean and staff cheery and helpful. Lady, name badge may have said Jessica? Unsure. She got pulled off her break by what appeared to be a complaining customer who asked her to sit down and listen to her thoughts on the wrong ways they were doing their job (overheard something about her views on ‘tables not being cleaned’ bearing in mind customers were helping themselves to tables that had only just been vacated by someone not even out the door yet so no time for staff to clear, let alone clean). Your staff member was amazingly calm and dealt with this lady so professionally, despite her suggestions that I know as a waitress are not always possible during busy times and in this type of fast paced cafe are inevitable.

Got fined £100 visiting here for parking slightly out of my bay. Not really worth it for a very average coffee.

Good quick service polite staff. Place wants brightening up comes across as basic & a little depressing. The other one near Old Debenhams has had a refurbishment & is lovely & cheerful with modern colourful comfy seating. Only downside with that one is the fact of only one toilet (out of two) because been out of order for 3 weeks!! In a row! Not good Costa & essences not topped up!

Disgusted. Fined for parking here while having a coffee with my fiance and newborn who needed feeding! Will not be returning! Low life scum tactics of a tiny sign clearly not visible to 99% of Shoppers. Absolute low life's.

Wragby Road drive through, still too many tables inside, a little cramped especially for visitors with pushchairs. I'm a customer visiting twice a week to this one.

Very slow service for a Saturday afternoon

15 minutes to get served for a Latte is tooooooooo long. Diabolical

Long queue inside but only one person serving although I saw at least 4 staff working. However coffee and sandwich was good quality.

Despite Costa are one of my faves, I wouldn't recommend this cafe! Missing that comfy Costa's atmosphere and the hygiene was poor.

The friendly and welcoming staff got things off to a great start. The vegan bac'n breakfast bap with HP sauce was quite tasty but the star of the show was the BOSH! chocolate and pecan slice which was scrummy! It's great to see there are more choices for everyone who enjoys good food, including those people following a vegan way of life, vegetarians and others who are eating more plant based meals for the sake of the environment and other reasons.

If they spent more time with the customer and serving the customer instead of chatting amongst themselves (Congratulations Jessica on the house, apparently she has her own mortgage and house. Plus going on about the dog, spaniel... Yes I can hear your conversation, whilst I'm waiting to be served and being ignored)... Then you'd have more 5* reviews. First and very last time I'm visiting this cafe.

The service is always slow. Took 45 mins to get to the till, with only 6 other customers in front. Always understaffed. How about pay people a decent wage then you may attract new staff! Cake cabinet glass looks like it’s not been cleaned in months, thick in dust and grime. Place just feels dark dingy and dirty. Being part of a big chain shows the greed of the corporate nit investing in people or property!

Unfortunately today was not the best experience I've had at this particular Costa cafe. It appeared there were not enough staff on and therefore there was quite a wait to actually get the drinks. My skinny mocha was luke warm. My main disappointment however was that the toilet (Unisex was the only one open). There was no toilet paper available for at least 30 mins of our stay, and the hand dryer was out of operation - with no hand towels. The staff were adequately friendly.

Met family and had coffee nice and relaxing made a nice change after not going out.
