me and my girlfriend went to Moonraker when arrived I was greeted warmly and felt very welcome and I ordered 2 bacon butty and some drinks, and wow such a clean place, we enjoyed sitting inside the Moonraker what a fantastic experience, the bacon buttys was delicious and we order 2 cans of cola they came cold, that was good because it's a hot day, so it was nice to be able to get a cold drink and chosen to order some scones, we really enjoyed them they were yummy would recommendd to anyone thank you will be back again

I really hoped that this would be something special to stand out from the crowd of coffee shops in Lincoln - it stood out, but not in a good way. I’m sorry, I hate to leave bad reviews for independent business, but this was pretty shocking. Instant coffee, which was disgusting. Weak tea served with a dirty, chipped cup. Soggy tea cakes and soggy scone, as if they were heated in a microwave. Overwhelming stench of polish that made one feel rather ill. There’s no reason to be this bad in such a competitive market.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND! There was an over powering polish smell when we got onboard. The mugs were either dirty or chipped. The coffee in instant coffee. The scones are microwaved and gross 🤢. The tea cakes were soggy. The whole place made me feel sick. We ended up walking out and not finishing anything. The place is covered in dusty cuddly toys - I have no idea why. It was a very bizarre experience and we will not be going back again.

On mother's day myself and the family visited Moonraker floating tea rooms with also a trip on Oliver the tour boat. On entering Moonraker we were greeted warmly by the owner Captain Chrissy who made us feel very welcome. Inside was clean.relaxed and cosy and we proceeded to order a selection of cakes and hot drinks which were all very nice and at a very reasonable price. Having eaten we proceeded onto Oliver the trip boat which is a 50+year old tug boat and oozes character. The trip was both relaxing and fascinating seeing historic Lincoln from a very difficult angle. First class all round and I would definitely recommend you give it a go.

Visited Moonraker floating tea rooms on Saturday 20th May with my family. On approaching moonraker I was firstly wowed by her appearance from the outside and was already excited by what I saw. On approaching we received a very warm welcome from Captain Chris's who we later found out is the owner of the business. We had the choice of sitting outside besides the river or inside the traditional narrow boat. We opted for inside and weren't disappointed. There were a good selection of drinks ,snacks ,and cakes and all at very reasonable prices. We we pleasantly surprised how clean and cosy it was. After chatting to chrissy we discovered she also does river trips on a beautiful old tug boat called Oliver which we decided to finish off a visit on. We were able to view Lincoln from a completely different angle and was a very pleasant way to finish our visit. Thoroughly recommend and will definitely be back

It's not what it says on the tin!!!!! This is in no way a luxurious river tour. The driver who drives the boat didn't speak a word to us, but was happy to pull over and have a chat with all the local barge owners. No music to dull out the silence. The tiniest of tug boats which is in no way clean. Fusty and strong smell of urine. The accessories which adorned the seating area were covered in mould, and broken sharp edges, with a hand written sign that 'Tips are welcome"! The cream tea, well were do I start. first of all there was no tea lol! stale scones, with the tops that peeled off!! Supplied with dirty stained plates. We were told that we could buy spoons for an additional £1 as no cutlery come with it. We were given bottled water and told that again for an additional charge we could upgrade to lemonade !! The x3 people that were running the event, were NOT the cleanest people at all and really need to take a personal hygiene course. All in all we found this an uncomfortable event, with inadequate equipment/accessories and perturbed us from even drinking the bottled water. I cannot express to all that this was so bad it was funny!

I really hate putting this as Chrissie was lovely really friendly & nice but I feel honesty must prevail , I booked 4 of us as a treat for our 2 visiting friends after seeing the advert on Wowcher , we were on the little boat 'Oliver' very cramped , but it was the food it is NOTHING like in the pictures for 4 of us it was cramped on ONE 2 tier cake stand couple ham & cheese triangles, couple of egg ones 4 tiny, very pale sausage rolls and a very very thin slither of quiche probably one bite size & a packet of crisps each , we were given cereal bowls to eat out of ?? not plates, the tea however was very nice , hot & strong , the scones in all honestly look like they had fell on the floor , slapped together with cheap sort of cream (we couldn't decide what it was ) & a plop of cheap pale jam juice, the ad says a variety of cakes , well we got just the scone, we took them home to be polite but threw them away ,this was classed ''High Tea' at the higher price , the boat was ok but bit tatty, too many knickknacks about , but it's her boat so can live with that, there was a recorded dialogue of the river which was annoying & the music then on a loop even more annoying, sick of 'I am sailing' sing over and over , .At £40 for 4 of us I wasn't impressed just glad we did it on wowcher & not paid full price wold no recommend sorry

This was a Christmas gift through Groupon, waited 20 months for the treat due to covid, wished we'd not bothered. The voucher stated high tea and a boat trip on the moonraker, but we went on the small boat called the oliver. It was noisy and smelt of diesel fumes. The food was awful and my husband only ate what was in sealed packets i.e crisps. One scone looked as though it had a bite out of it. Mugs of coffee and tea plonked down on the table. A bowl to eat out of, not a plate, which contained a soggy serviette. The trip only lasted about 45 minutes. Same commentry on the way back as going and the same song "sailing" playing all the time. We were glad to get off. Would not recomend. More like "low tea" than "high tea". Overall a disappointing afternoon. Just a lovely spot for a nice cuppa, decent toastie and really friendly service! I’d return to try out the cruise. Reasonable priced.

The actual moonraker tearoom is closed due to difficulty maintaining social distancing but the alternative is superb. We booked afternoon tea followed by a boat ride. But we ended up having our afternoon tea on the little boat, Oliver boat tours, just the two of...

Would not recommend at all. A member of staff was rude when we first arrived. We were 10 mins early and went to let them know we were here. His reply was “it’s not time yet, come back when it’s time”. When we got on the boat , he then said “sorry about earlier, I didn’t know who you were”. Like that’s okay to speak to customers in that manner anyway. The boat is very small and 4 of us were sat on a tiny table. More seating was taken up, as the owners had placed framed pictures on the seats, which were then covered in bottles of sauce and a hot water bottle for tea, which was broken. They bought out some cream cakes first, which was odd. They had altered the sell by date of the cakes, as we could see the original printed date underneath. The cakes were clearly not kept chilled as the box/cakes had a sort of condensation on them. Not nice. Staff then bought out some paper cups for tea and some room temperature water , which was meant to be a soft drink. The hot water container had to be pumped in to the cups to make the tea, but the pump was not connected so we had to fix that ourselves. Fish and chips were then bought out in cardboard boxes. I opened the box to find knives & forks and packets of salt and pepper also inside the box, which due to the heat from the meal, meant the packets were all damp. Chips looked almost anaemic and the fish burnt. Mushy peas looked like a solid lump of green mess. My wife opened her box to find a dark black hair on her chips. Disgusting. 2 meals were not touched as we couldn’t stomach them after seeing the hair and the other 2 meals were not finished either. Even without the hair, the meals were very poor and you could easily do much better at home yourself. Staff then tried to take our picture for the website. I don’t think so. The boat tour itself is okay, but you won’t see anything new , if you’ve been to Lincoln before. Definitely not worth the money and we have cancelled a 2nd booking we had for later in the year and got a refund.

A good spot to stop and have a coffee and cake if you're in Lincoln. The Drill is an events venue hosting comedians, bands and even a Christmas pantomime. The Limelight is a handy cafe spot open to the public. A nice range of food and cakes with plenty of choice to cater for all. Breakfast to dinner, you'll find just the thing. Our baguettes were delicious, very enjoyable indeed. Recommended.
