Had breakfast here a few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. The vegan scramble was excellent

The Swan is a very reasonably priced pub offering discount to all University of Lincoln students. The atmosphere is very warm and is a nice place to do work, have a drink and socialise. The weekly quiz is always fun and offers great rewards for the top three teams. I would recommend The Swan to anyone looking for a nice pub!

our tables food was ordered at 13.10 asked where food was at 13.40 to be told it was being plated up. 13.55 still no food asked for a refund and were told that the food had been sent out in takeaway boxes which it definitely had not. other people who had ordered after our table had been served before us. Surely with being on a student campus they should think of the customers and how much time they get between lectures. each time a member of staff was asked about our food they said they would check only to take longer in getting back to us. staff training and possibly extra staff in the kitchen to get orders out in a timely fashion. I understand places can be busy however this could be reiterated when an order is placed so that the customer is aware rather than waiting then not having the chance to choose alternative options for lunch.

I have been to the swan many times before now and have had reasonable service, however, this time i was utterly shocked and disgraced at the service we received. We ordered at 13:10 and waited well over 50 mins for food, even exclaimed that we were back in lecture at 14:00 queried where the food was at 13:40 to be told it was being plated up 10 mins later and we were still waiting. One of my friends did not even get the student discount applied which as a student of the university of Lincoln she is entitled to. When the food finally came it was barley warm and i had to eat it so quick as i had approximately 5 minutes to eat and get to my lecture resulting in tummy pain and indigestion for the rest of the day, we were offered it in a take out box but unfortunately we are not allowed to eat in our lectures due to allergies from other students. Another friend went to get a refund due to not having time to eat and was told that her food had been bought out in a box so they could not provide the refund which was absolutely absurd and this food had not come to our table at all when challenged and told to check the CCTV they soon back tracked and gave the refund. Absolutely shocking management and leadership, staff need retraining on how to look after customers and be trained on acceptable ways to speak to people instead of grunting and biting back at customers. Will not be back which is a shame as i quite enjoy a lunchtime pint and some food

Ordered at 13:11 and food arrived at 13:53 with a lecture starting in 7 minutes time. Do not go here if you want a quick lunch as you wont get that. Would not recommend the food either I ordered a pulled pork ciabatta with mozzarella, it may as well just have been a ciabatta bread as you can see on the photo. Very disappointed with the slow service and quality of food.

I came here on my lunch break between seminars with my friends. We all got food and drinks but my friends got their order way before i got mine (i was able to start eating around 10 mins after they finished their food). Went to the bar downstairs to ask about my food and explained i’ve been waiting for more than half an hour, guy at the bar goes to check and says ‘it’s only been 21 minutes’. So i get confused because i have an email of my order confirmation and the time stamp clearly says it’s been longer than that but apparently that means nothing because the timer starts whenever the kitchen feels like it. Never seen that happen anywhere before and i’ve been working in hospitality for 3 years but sure. I get my food and at that point im pissed because my friends were just waiting on me, the burger bun was stale and the chips were cold. Also there were no sauces or anything in the pots upstairs so I asked the girl who brought my food over if i can have some because i couldn’t see any. She says she will be right back with some and never comes back. amazing. Not sure what’s happening with this place because it used to be so good last year but i’m definitely gonna think twice before coming here again.

Have had planty of good experiences in previous years here while at uni. However when i came back as an alumni to see friends we were unfortunately disappointed. Service was slow at the bar, despite being the only person waiting. Also was shocked by the price increases and the portion decreases. The cheesey chips were very small for the price and the nachos arrived burnt and with very little toppings. An unfortunate experience despite a nice increase in draft beer selection.

This place has really gone down hill in the time I have been at Uni. The food is poor, especially the swan fries. It’s all just the cheapest tasting and looking frozen food heated up. The cocktails are also poor, they’re so watered down and unpleasant. What makes it worse is the fact that they are charging more than ever before for food and drink and the quality is worse than ever. I love the atmosphere in the swan but I don’t like how that’s now the only thing they have going for them. I don’t think I’ll ever order from here again just because it’s such a waste of money. I always preferred Spoons for drink but now the food there is better than here. How is your food worse than Weatherspoons??

Come here all the time, recently had a facelift and it looks amazing! Big outdoor space and cosy indoor nooks. Staff are lovely and knowledgeable about the local area 💜

Been a student at the University of Lincoln since 2019. Have frequently used the Swan on a weekly basis, however I was thoroughly disappointed with the place on Wednesday evening. The pub had a great atmosphere, and karaoke was in full swing. Yet the place closes at 11, but they were packing up to close at 10:30. Made us feel very uncomfortable as the manager was stacking the chairs up around us, strongly hinting that we should leave, even though we still had full drinks, and the venue didn’t close till 11. Not only was I concern about customer service, I’m also getting concerned with how the prices of everything in the Swan is gradually increasing. It wasn’t that long ago, where you could get a cocktail for £3.70, now you’re talking a fiver!!! However, big shoutout to Charlie who runs the karaoke! And has always been excellent!

the soft drinks are flat most of the time, slow service

Just had 2 night's at the swan Lincoln my granddaughter is at the university this is right in the middle of the university, the room was the family room really good lovely bathroom clean and good size, bedroom had 1 king size bed and 1 double bed also really comfortable and clean could not fault it staff were very friendly and helpful great value.

The Swan is an incredibly well run bar on the University Campus, staff are all incredibly friendly, pints are generally good and food is tasty and hot. There is a great amount of activities with pool tables (£1 a game) as well as board games (free to use). Wednesday night is karaoke night which is always highly popular and one of my favourite weekly events in Lincoln.

Only 50% dog friendly got to sit outside or on terrace thank god its not raining card only too 😡😡😡

overall had an enjoyable experience. the staff itself have been very pleasant, kimberley was such a sweetheart. as for, everything was cooked to perfection ans the cocktails were amazing. would absolutely come back again! :)

Not as good as it used to be, but still a good vibe

10/10 food ( definitely recommend the steak and Ale Pie). Brilliant accomodation with friendly staff, I will definitely be making a return.

Food is reasonably priced, drinks expensive. Disabled access is poor, unable to access 2nd floor, very difficult to access disabled toilet as tables and chairs are placed too close to the walls.

Food was 30 minutes and they refused to honour the 50% off then tried to explain it was my fault as the table was not labelled and gave it to the other table. Poor handling really. Duty manger was rude and to be frank need customer service training.

Good if you go for a beer (large choice) and some of the sofa are really nice... But avoid food at maximum (really tasteless). Service could be improved too, I ordered food at two occasions, twice they gave me the wrong meal. First time I kept that for myself. Second time, I complained about it and they said: "there is nothing I can do for that, sorry". Not really professionnal... Edit: They have changed their price (£11 for two pints! Is it supposed to be student prices?) and last time the only beer they had was flat and tastless probably due to an old barrel they never changed...

Came here yesterday, and it is the best little pub I have visited. Me and my friend paid £6.80 rather than £8.50 as we are students. I had the beef burger and chips which were amazing and cooked to perfection, whilst my friend had pulled pork and chips which were good. Lovely modern decor and has plenty of seating available outside. Staff are very friendly.

Paid £7.50 for the full english which was underwhelming and overcooked in areas. The fried eggs were inedible and rubbery, aswell as the toast coming out from the kitchen stone cold. Sausages were only half edible as the ends had been burned to a crisp. To add to this, staff were unapologetic upon my request for new eggs, which I received by the time I’d almost finished my meal.

Nice food and great location. Convenient for students too. Shame it is a little over priced just means I can't there as often as I'd like.

I booked my husbands surprise 60th birthday party upstairs at The Swan, a fabulous setting on Brayford Pool, that sits within the University Campus. We had a fantastic time and danced the night away. I have to say the staff were honestly, absolutely amazing and worked relentlessly throughout to ensure the party ran smoothly. The staff dealt with everything, from the food, filling up as required, through to the cutting of the cake. The food was good to, meat and veg pizzas were fabulous as was the buffet, and plenty of it. If your looking for a great venue, fantastic staff and good food then look no further. Great night had by all. Thank you all for making it such a great success 😊

Been there a few times , food always takes 40 mins to arrive, even when I was the only person there, ordered a coffee and when the food arrived it was cold , when I asked if they could replace they said no , even tho I had barely drunk

The food isn't the best, I ordered a pie and it was just meat stew with a massive puff pastry lid not really what I expected. I also went here a few other occasion and generally just not impressed by the food. I think if your just ordering drinks and or going for the generally atmosphere it is a decent place but if you want something to eat save you money and head elsewhere.

Undertrained confused staff. Burnt tasteless food consistently over 5 meals. No garlic bread so gave us cold chips without asking if we wanted them, so we wasted money on the sides of chips we ordered. , And staff didn't know how to solve the issue. Pasta tasted like it came from a can and was out in the microwave. Overall a terrible experience. I hadn't eaten all day so beggars can't be choosers but won't be coming again.

Very cosy. Staff is lovely, atmosphere is great. Food tastes delicious and Cocktails are sweet and lovely. Have a nice selection of Beers, but besides that make very good Hot chocolate and tea. Visited multiple times. Very much recommended, especially for students as all the money spent there goes directly into the SU.

Great place to treat as your second home and spend too much money at during univeristy

A really comfortable, lovely, student union bar. It's unfortunately let down sometimes by the food (it's nothing to shout home about), the slightly high prices, and sometimes management-staff interactions that should be done behind doors are done in front of the public. The building is lovely, all of the areas are lovely, and the staff are generally nice. The place is seriously just let down by very minor things - Still, a nice place to go if you're looking to meet with other students.

The Manger with a nose ring is lovely and will help with anything ,cheap food and drink which is great for students, bar staff are great even when in trainings and will develop amazing! Look forward to coming back soon, the orange juice while hungover is a saviour

The staff could not be more lovely, especially the manager with the nose ring, absolute hero really looks after her regulars with any issues. And the tall ginger bloke with the beard always helps you out with recommendations on drinks and what to eat. Food is top notch, atmosphere is great and the staff are total champions.

Great food and drinks for student prices and the pool tables are perfect to relax and have a couple of relaxed games with friends. Decent background music as well which always helps with the atmosphere.

Me and my partner frequent this place however we went in for food, I was served a Greasy plate of cheese Dry bacon and Ready to eat chicken from a Store with a Burnt chicken goujon my partner ordered a PLAIN chicken burger to receive a Bun with 2 Burnt chicken goujon so she took it back and was told by the Waitress the chicken was dry because she had no sauce on it this was sent to the chef who also agreed this chicken was fine even thought it was burnt and overdone, admittedly I lost my cool with them and was maybe a little rude back, even then I was told you had your refund so what else do you want

Nice atmosphere. Board games upstairs which is a nice touch to the pub. Food is ok, cheap enough, have a gluten free menu which is great, however some adjustments to gluten free menu would make it better. (Pasta needs cooking longer). Bathrooms clean.

Better than Tower Bar in my opinion. Abundance of video games, several pool tables, and who can forget karoke Wednesday's? Absolutely class boozer.

We occasionally go in The Swan for a bite to eat or a drink. The food and drinks are always superb and the majority of the staff are always warm and welcoming. However, the past couple of times we have been in we have been served by certain members of staff who have been extremely rude and unfriendly which has dampened our experiences at The Swan. We casually asked for an addition to one of our meals from which a member of staff replied saying that they were tired and might forget to ask. We thought this was rude and unfair because as a customer you expect to staff to deal with your requests. In addition, when this order was prepared and delivered, the same member of staff told us to never order it again. As this wasn't said jokily or light heartedly, we thought this was extremely rude and unprofessional. We really enjoy it here because it is a brilliant student venue and the majority of the staff are very warm and friendly, however sometimes some members do let it down slightly.

This is a student union operated pub, hence can have very slow service. However, it has a wonderful balcony and one of the best views over Brayford. Can be quite packed during term time when the weather is good.

Very friendly staff with good food at a cheap price, an easy place to go from the University campus and a lovely change from the cafeteria!

Really nice setting, friendly staff and plenty of room inside. Favourite part of the pub/bar is the free pool tables at the weekends. Drink selection is vast, one small downside is that considering it is on the university campus, the drinks are still a little high, not extortionate by any means, but higher than expected. Atmosphere is great and the place is kept very tidy.
