Good and fast service, put all my lunch nicely in a bag even.

I will never go again,60 pound fine. Taking my sister in law for a coffee to get her out of the house after losing her mum. After paying for coffee’s and cake, then get a fine through your door. You are disgusting and we will never buy from you again.

Visited this place 22.05.23. Got a parking ticket. Not happy. Changed this review to 4 as they sorted out my parking ticket. Staff friendly & coffee good Thankyou

Friendly staff and lovely coffee

I met my daughter's in Costa, we had several drink and food, spent a reasonable amount of money over a few drinks and snacks, to be handed a fine by UKCPS of £60 for spending roughly the same amount on food and drink because we stayed 2.5hrs eating and drinking. Absolutely shocking to be handed a charge for buying the products Costa sells at Manvers, please everyone be aware if you spend a long time and buy several products you will be penalised for being a customer... absolutely disgusting... proving if you spend more and eat more you are penalised. I cannot understand this predatory mentality, it is a disgrace!! BE AWARE... DO NOT SPEND MONEY OR TIME, YOU WILL BE PENALISED!!!

Met my daughter's in Costa, had several drinks and ate lunch to be handed a fine for staying over 90 minutes because we drank several drinks and ate food... absolute disgrace. This is predatory behaviour and disgusting, penalising customers who stay and spend more. BEWARE, IF YOU STAY LONGER AMD SPEND MORE THEY WILL PENALISE YOU!!! DISGRACEFUL!! As with many others here, I cannot believe they have implemented parking fines. Been before and never been an issue. Who other than customers are coming here? It’s in the middle of nowhere. Have contacted Costa in the hopes of a resolution as my appeal was denied and if so, will amend the review but absolutely disgusting behaviour. My friend who I was visiting for the same amount of time doesn’t have a ticket either so unfair what ridiculous tactics are being employed here. We spent £17 here, it wasn’t particularly clean but the staff were nice enough (except not bothering to tell us about the time limit when we returned for a second round of drinks). We drank our coffee and had a good catch up only to have it ruined by this fine. Really not impressed at all.

Just received a letter for a £100 parking fine for my daughter meeting friends at Costa. Apparently it’s the second letter they sent - it’s the first we received - 90 minutes maximum for you to visit costa - who take minimum 10 mins to serve you in the first place, then sit and enjoy food, drink and a catch up. Miss this 90 mins and you’ll get a fine. Oh and guess what, no one in Costa tells you this so they are enabling the fines. Maybe this is how they make more money given that there are better Costa branches nearby! Shame on you Costa, this policy is short lived. Never again…..

I'm sorry that i'm having to write this review as negative reviews are not what what I want to provide. I stopped using this Costa last summer after seeing multiple examples of lack of food hygiene, the final straw was when i watched the girl behind the counter scratch inside her ear and then promptly use the same fingers to add a teabag to the mug. However, that was not enough to persuade me to write this review. No the crunch came yesterday when I opened the mail!! My 19 year old daughter met a friend at this Costa on 20 September 23. They met just after 3.20pm for drink, food and a catch up as they hadn't seen each other for a while. They left at just before 5pm. Yesterday we received a letter with a £100 parking fine because apparently you are not allowed to spend more then 90 minutes in Costa, although they don't tell you that at the counter when they take your money nor do they see you sitting there an hour later and think to make you aware that they are limiting your visit. I was gobsmacked, because the parking fine company state they have contacted us prior - they haven't, i also know this carpark has never had parking restrictions for the many previous years we've parked there. I get it if people are parking and not using the businesses there, but to spend money at the business and then still be fined has me boiling. Especially as I watched my daughter burst into tears with worry about paying £100 fine when all she wanted was a catch up with a friend. Shame on you Costa at Manvers, this is a disgrace, and frankly a hell of a risk when there are several other, better Costa branches within a very short drive. You should be fighting to be the best not letting your customer's get stung in this way. Oh and send your staff on a food hygiene course to learn the basics of washing their hands if you aren't going to teach them!

PARKING FINE! After meeting friends for coffee and a catch up in Costa on the Monday i received a letter on the Saturday saying because I haven't paid £60 parking charge it's now increased to £100. If I want to know what the rules are I have to return to the carpark to read the sign! Disgraceful customer service!

This Costa has possibly the poorest selection of products in Any Costa, the staff seem untrained, there’s no warm atmosphere, the car park is patrolled by Euro parks on behalf of the Costa Franchisees and they strictly enforce the parking, we have been done twice, once when the computer wasn’t working and the 2nd time also. This place is a disgrace to the Cost name, they won’t get my business ever again. Instead go to Waterfront Golf, friendly staff great choice of food good seating outside as well as in.

Went to catch up with friends at Costa Manvers ,which I have done on numerous occasions . However, it has never cost me £60.00 before as there is now apparently a time limit of 90 minutes. I was not informed of this by the staff and did not notice any signs. I thought the point of coffee shops was to encourage friends to get together to drink coffee and chat but this time limit goes against this. I will not be visiting again.

Visited to meet friends, toilet was very run down and dirty. Flies everywhere to the point they were landing on us whilst we were trying to eat. Few days later received a £60 parking fine for overstaying our welcome! No signs seen and not Informed by staff of parking issue. Will not visit again.

I am disgusted with Costa having met my friend for a coffee I’ve had to pay a £60 parking fine! I was in a secure car park just outside the shop and inputted my details into their parking machine to extend my stay. I’ve appealed my case and they’ve said it’s still classed as private land. So not only did I spend a fortune in Costa I’ve just paid off a £60 fine that would be up to £100 if not paid in 14 days!! I will never go to Costa again!!!

Cosat Manvers in Rotherham, staff were nice, but I will never go to that place again as i got £60.00 parking fine when i stayed in their coffee shop, very clever way to make people pay more. I will never ever go to Costa anywhere in the UK anymore and advice my friends and family not to go to any Costa anywhere in the UK.

£60 fine for meeting up with friends in a rubbish location with nothing else there! An hour to chat to friends and spend money in the shop is all you are allowed or they repay your custom by fining you! Avoid!!!!

Am so upset that after meeting with some friends here for lunch I found out I was going to get a parking fine. The staff said we had to put our reg details into a tablet at the till, but they didn't think to tell us this when we ordered and by the time they DID they said it was too late. The manager on shift at the time said if we got a fine to bring it in and he could cancel it. I did just that when it came through, he took a picture of it and told me he would take care of it. I wish I'd have trusted my gut that something seemed dodgy because it was a bare faced lie and now I have an increased £100 fine. I'm more mad that I was told it could be sorted which I couldn't have been more grateful for at the time, and now I have to be £100 quid out of pocket! If that was never offered I would have paid it at 25 quid and would have been done with it. Not many of us have 100 quid spare knocking around these days!! All for the sake of an overpriced coffee to catch up with friends. Won't be going back.

I will NEVER go back here! The service is horrendous and if you stay there spending money for longer than an hour you will get a fine…they don’t like to inform their customers that if they put their details on an iPad they have 8 hours to stay. Even after the manager claimed to help me get rid of the fine he didn’t so it went to up!! I wouldn’t be so annoyed if they didn’t promise to help clear the fine. Horrible service with flies sitting on the food and then this….HORRENDOUS!

Same here, birthday treat with elderly mum. £60 fine for overstay, even with blue badge it makes no difference. I'm not paying anyway. Appeal was refused. I will avoid in future, it's not like it's even a nice location to spend more time there.

£100 parking notice for overstaying an arbitrary 90 minute parking limit with appalling signage by 14 minutes and no grace period. This is unnecessary and Costa can be assured that I will never visit another Costa outlet here or anywhere else, and will recommend that others do likewise.

Beware ! You have to pay for parking!!! If you don't know this and exceed a time limit you face a costly bill!! Will never use a Costa again .

Visited today for a coffee & a catch up with a friend. The service was so slow, normally I don’t mind but since they’ve installed cameras so you can only stay 90 mins ( even tho the staff was unsure how long) time was ticking!! Then the girls making the coffees were getting mixed up with all the orders! And started bickering with each other. I’d definitely recommend more training down there & maybe put a more mature person on with the younger ones. Also need to work on their customer service! I won’t be returning to this particular Costa ( onyx)

Nice little coffee shop after or before your walk. At the minute it's quicker to do Click and collect, either sit outside or get a brew on the go.

This is the sort of place you might come upon by accident during a journey. It is situated off an uninspiring road in an equally uninspiring area, so I can’t imagine many people actually making a specific plan to come here. As for the premises - absolutely fine without being exceptional and the coffee and service were good.

It was comfortable and the staff friendly and the tables clean even though it was quite busy. However, unfortunately my soya latte didn't taste much of coffee. Also, I wish they would use an unsweetened soya. People can add extra sugar to their coffee if they wish.

Sometimes a little busy here at lunchtime and they get a bit behind. Pleasant and friendly staff.

Wasn't too impressed with the service in here, I enjoy visiting Costa Coffee usually but found that it was really noisy behind the counter, the screens didn't help as the lady serving couldn't hear with the level of noise behind her so was having to shout. The drinks we ordered were wrong and we were overcharged. It was our first visit there since before Covid and previously everything had always been great so this visit was a disappointment for us

A nice enough branch of Costa. Sit upstairs if you want a bit of peace and quiet though - it often gets quite full down.

Good service lovely food brilliant coffee

Customer service was terrible, to loud can't hear anything, they made the peach ice tea completely different than other Costas. They said they only go up to medium which clearly states they go to large on their board but then charged for a large one anyway. The former qfm related firms who own the KFC and Costas in the area are really destroying the brands in the area. Honest opinion drive the extra five mins to Barnsley one, 1000 times better.

Wonderful service friendly team

Disappointing on this visit. Really loud machine noises and constant really loud clattering of crockery, couldn't hear the music or even the staff taking the order. From 6pm onwards they were actively closing up around us (shuts at 7). The staff were just intent on getting to the end of the shift with no regard for it being a nice experience. Rubbish. Stairfoot and Wheatley Hall road are much nicer experiences.

Only giving one star due to the place being clean. Ordered two regular mochas to drink indoors. Received two large latte to take out.. While waiting in the queue for the two regular mochas we witnessed a sausage sandwich coming out of the hot oven being dropped. It was picked up, packed and served for a take out collection. 25 minutes after our original order we received the two mochas which had been spilt all over. Asked for a refund and waited another 10-15 minutes for that. Over 30 minutes. Absolute joke. Never again

Not happy orderd strawberry ice infusion no ice and warm so took back back and said do another but they just tipped half out and put ice in so was just like water

I genuinely have absolutely no idea how incompetent or lazy the staff have to be to forget to add a drink, from a coffee shop, in an uber eats order. But they managed it.

This place is convenient as it's close to the lake where we walk dogs. Ordered 2 frostino's on the App. Firstly they were only offering small for some reason. 10 minutes later I had not received the notification that the order was ready so I walked over and could see my order on the collection table. I went to collect it as I have done dozens of times before only to be chastised by the balding guy who made me go back to the entrance before shouting my name. Finally the 2 drinks were full of ice so really weak and tasteless.

Queue takes forever. They serve online customers first. Best to do click and collect unless you dont mind waiting for 30 mins. Might be better after Covid.......will update!!! Coffee was fine!!

Coffee isnt the best for what you pay staff give your food to another table then when you point out their mistake simply take it back and give it to you with no apology.

Dark & dingy so I always get my drink to-go. They get through queues really quickly though. No hanging around in here, unlike other Costas.
